Rune raised his eyebrow as he looked up at the man holding the knife in his hand. "Let go of the girl." the man told Rune. "Why?" he responded, a bit stern.

"No...don't let him kill me Rune" Serenity cried holding him tightly "He killed my mother..."

Rune looked at Serenity then at the killer. "I promised to keep a low profile, and thats what I intend to do." he said as he let her go and walked up to the killler. "Look, I don't know why you want to kill Serenity, but I don't think its-" he was cut off when the killer stabbed him in the chest. Rune looked down to where the knife got him.

Serenity stood behind Rune "Rune!" she shouted "No!" she cried more than she remembered what Rune is, he souls be able to survive that if he wasn't human

Rune smirked a bit. "I see." he said as he slowly took the knife out of him. "What the-?! How were you able to survive?! I struck you on the heart!" the killer shouted, sounding scared. Rune's smirk turned to an innocent smile, which just made it more creepier. "I'm going to show you the true meaning of fear." he said as his eyes glowed a bright yellow. The killer's eyes did the same, and he quickly started screaming, almost as if he was dying. "Kill me! Please Kill me!" he shouted desperatly. "Why? Even if you did die you would still face the torture of all the crimes you commited."

Serenity just watched him and widened her eyes in surprise "Ru...ne..." she looked at he yellow eyes of the killer, wow, that's what he can do

"But then again...I do tire of your screaming." Rune said as he jabbed his hand completely into the man's chest, killing him instantly.

Rune looked back at Serenity and nodded. "Yes..." he said in a sad and disappointed tone. He looked away from her. "I'm...really sorry you had to see that..."

Rune's eyes widened when she actually ran over to him. "I...I thought you would see me as a monster..." he said as he slowly wrapped his arms around her.

Serenity cried more "You saved me...Rune...you avenged my mother's...death" he said between sniffles

Rune's eyes saddened some more as he continued watching her cry. "Come on, please don't cry." he said as he projected some heat to keep her relaxed.
