The Count Of Monte Cristo

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Count walk out of the escape hole unbound. He had learned to escape all types of bindings the last time he had been arrested. For so long he sat in that cell with nothing to do but practice escaping. Then the priest came. None of that mattered at the moment. He drew his sword and aimed it at the ground as a bolt of lightning shot from it setting the ground between the King and Costro's guards on fire. "Now is not the time for battle, that comes later." The Count shouted as he lowered his sword and began walking away expecting the King and girl to follow. He figured on of the guards would try to attack so he readied himself as his blade began to hum with electricity.
User Image finally when the two escaped, Charlotte let out a rough grunt as she tugged on her bow to free it from the iron cage. Once it did, the cage slammed to the ground, blocking some what of a path to the guards where as others had surrounded her. Of course, she was able to levitate with ease out of their grasp and back over to the side of the king and the count, only a fewer steps behind.
If they are going to cause this much hassle, she might as well be back in her godforsaken cage! So, Charlotte stopped in her tracks, taking a few steps back before bolting it out of there and back to the docks. She needed to hide, not get found out. She needed to find her father and so much more. but all in due time....
The Spire finally decided to just hit back over at the docks, pulling her hat back down to obscure her facial features, meanwhile sneaking aboard a ship, to which could be taking her directly into enemy territory. Rather or not that it would, she had to find her father, it was obvious he wouldn't be in a town surrounded by such violence or iron...would he?
While on the ship, one of the sailors shouted out last chance for boarding, luckily she was already inside. With that, Charlotte set sail to a new area....hopefully one with answers..
(Need to get a cool post style for Lucheston...)
King Lucheston Sorrian
The Silver King
Panting, out of breath in his less than youthful age, the king finally had to cease running from the ever persistent knights of Tenzonokit. Sweat ran down his brow as Lucheston attempted to capture his breath once more hoping that the Count at least would manage to get away, for the pair had been pursued by the city's finest...and the Silver King was no escape artist. After miles of stone paved roads, the heavily armored guardsmen easily keeping up with the bearded royalty, the Sorrian had finally managed to slip free for a moment's rest...though he feared a moment would not be nearly enough.
"It's been...far to long...since I've entered....the battlefield." The king muttered to himself, and to the count should he be listening. Between each broken portion of his sentence he would take a short but deep inhalation, attempting to pass on the words though he could hardly pass the air through himself. Heavy droplets fell to the streets to crash over the dusty roads, and the sore monarch took to leaning upon one of the large buildings that had been built quite high as was common in Tenzonokit. "Do you....perhaps....have a plan?" The king gasped, as the sound of iron and steal clattering through the allies rang through to his ears.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"A plan? The plan was to get captured and break us out when we arrived in our prison. It certainly would have been easier." The Count said catching up with The Silver King. "But we can't focus on the past only move forward at this point. Odds are the man who arrested us would also deploy a thin layer of guards to protect the walls and all exits. He probably sent the rest after us. Your winded and likely wouldn't last as long as me in battle. So what is on our side." The Count began to pace knowing he was low on time. What did he have... Lightning, money, his mind... That was all he needed. He reached into his robes inner pocket and took out a bag of gold coins.

Behind him he heard metal. The guards were closing in. Then he changed his mind. He opened the bag and threw it out into the streets. As planned it wasn't long before a crowd of people formed all trying to get as much gold as possible. "Wait here!' The Count ordered as he ran into a shop and came out with two basket each big enough to hold one of them. "Get in one! I will circle back for you one I have gotten rid of the guards. Do not stick your head out." the Count ordered as he got three more and set them up around boxes so they looked normal. The King just had to get in one of them. He moved back towards the direction he saw heard the guards coming from and raised his sword as the blade began to emit a strange hum. As soon as a guard came around the corner they would be met with a bolt of lightning. The guards would likely chase the Count or get lost in the crowd of people when they looked for the king. But the baskets would not be suspicious.

King Lucheston Sorrian
The Silver King

"A simple ruse..." Lucheston chuckled, as the Count came about insisting that he enter into a basket for hiding. "Then again the most simple of strategies are often the greatest." He admitted, as the streets began to fill with greedy peasants. It appeared that his newest companion had intended upon utilizing himself as a form of diversion, in order to outwit the guardsmen of the city with his superior cunning. It seemed suiting in the moment, for the king had become unaccustomed to running, but as a singular knight rounded the corner ahead of the others, grasping for Sorrian himself, Lucheston swiftly took hold of the knights helm, guiding his momentum into a brick wall near by.

The blow was more than sufficient to remove the armored foe from play, but the Silver King was certain that more would soon be behind him. I guess it hasn't been too long...I still have my battle skills and tactics.

"This one's just a scout, but more can't be far behind. I'll see you soon then I suppose." Lucheston gave a short bow, before stomping off the ground, vaulting into the rather large container to await the count's return. He only hoped that the ruse would suffice for their purpose.

It seems so odd now, a king running from knights...what foolishness has Skyron befallen? The thought was swept away in the moment, for the king heard the loud sounds of iron and steal clatter rushing through the streets once more, their boots echoing off of the high brick walls.

The Count looked at the scout laying on the ground from the Kings blow. Then he waited for the king to enter the basket. He stabbed his blade into a crack on the ground and a wall of black lightning rose in the alley the scout had come from. Then it fell. That kind of stuff drew greatly on the Counts power. Creating it was not the problem. getting it to move through the ground was. Then the Count ran into an alley where he turned. He knew the odds of outrunning the guards to the point that he could circle back and get the King were low. But on his best day he could combat ten men in a sword battle. That was before he had a sword that can shoot lightning. Plus he he got it to a fast enough speed the blade would vanish. He opted to combat the guards and once they were all knocked out get the king out of the city and back to his own.

The Count took his stance waiting for the guards to turn the corner. He remained close enough the the container with the King that if the guards found out he would be able to get back before they dragged the King away.

King Lucheston Sorrian
The Silver King

Shouts echoed through the streets as several armored platoons swept past, their iron plates clattering as one as they rushed in formation through the narrow allies and the broad streets of the city of all. Their armor appeared similar to those species welcomed in the kingdom, and if one looked closely, though through the thin cracks available to him Lucheston could not, you may notice that many of the different ranks passing by varied quite a bit in height as well as skin tone. The armors resembled all of the great wise species of the lands, and all appeared to be spectacularly embellished with the designs of their foreign cultures. Unfortunately for the king, this was a spectacle he would not be given time to witness once more, for he must remain hidden within the basket where he’d agreed to remain in waiting for the count.

I’m not entirely certain however…If he is caught then I must continue back to my kingdom alone…I’ll have to remove myself if an hour passes without his return, though as I reclaim my throne I’m certain I’ll be able to release him. Perhaps this noble man would be willing to become a knight of Garnoff…. The king had plenty of time to think of such things as the rough interior of the basket began to rub his exposed skin raw. Even without moving much the woven portions began to scrape away at his elderly form.

How long must I wait I wonder… the king thought as another group of troops, or perhaps a trading caravan passed him by within the streets, in truth he could no longer tell. The smell of sweat fresh baked bread filled his nostrils, along side the crude scent of molten iron from the hearths of the smiths. Patience would be required greatly here

The Count took in a deep breath as he formulated his plan. Metal armor, a conductor of electricity. With one blast he would likely take out several guards. The lighting would likely bounce off the armor heating it up and continue to hit each set of armor around it. Then he would fall to rely on the crowd and his skills. He took in one more deep breath finally out of time to think. Now he would act.

The Count burst from his alley into the streets and aimed his sword at a guard sending a bolt of lightning from the tip of the blade onto the breastplate of the loyal soldier. As expected the set of armor heated up and the bolt bounced to those around it doing the same. The guards threw down their helmets to keep the burning from their face. Then the count threw out another pouch of gold and was swarmed with greedy civilians. Perfect. The guards rushed in trying to get to him but he walked out the other end of the crowd. Getting in the crowd was hard but getting out... not so much. He found himself behind guards that still were fighting to get to the middle. He would have to aim carefully to avoid unwanted wounds. Once more he let lose a blast of lightning hitting the guards armor again. The guards passed out. Either from pain or the heat from their armor. The Count turned only to find himself facing three groups of then guards. Each set in their own little bundle. "30... well, lets being!" The Count shot a bolt of lighting that crashed into the group on the left knocking them down like dominos. Metal shields would not protect against him. The other 20 guards seemed shocked (no pun intended) by the fact he had taken ten down with one blast. He used this. the Count charged forward and jumped expecting the guards to raise their shields in defense and when they did he pushed off the shield diving into the other platoon. The following moments were a blur.

All the Count could understand was the clash of metal. Dodging blades, parrying strikes, returning with blunt attacks none meant to kill only to knock out. He felt a sharp pain rip through his left arm but knew nothing vital was hit. He continued on. Parrying, striking, dodging. It came to the point the blade of his sword was not longer visible and it was that moment the battle had been won. The guards no longer knew where to block. Within moments they had been blocking attacks from each other. Surrounded the Count let lose one more bolt. This bolt bounced off so many sets of steel you would think it was human pinball. When the bolt subsided he stood 30 guards on the ground around him. He hadn't killed a single one. The fight would have ended sooner if he had, maybe then he would remember more of it. In these days when he was in a large battle he only remembered the sound. Motion seemed effortless. Clutching his left arm he put his sword in its sheath. Then he stumbled over to the King's basket and pulled the top off. "Come now, we have only enough time to escape before more guards arrive." The count said as red stained his white shirt from shoulder down. He had a few cuts on his face but they didn't hurt much. Pain seemed absent from him. Years of torture did that to a man. He quickly found a stagecoach and bought it. Then hired a greedy man to drive them to the Grand port. He promised the man the coach and gold when they reached their destination as long as no questions were asked and the guards did not prove a problem. Then the Count looked towards the King's basket. He moved towards the king smiling. "Come we must go. We will head to the port and I will buy us a ship. From there we will sail to your city. I think our captors would block all roads in the direction we need to go. But no one can block the wide open sea from us."

Doctor William Faustus

Tenzenokit North District Clinic

William steps from one of the clinics located in the northern district of the city. He inhales deeply and begins to move down the cobbled path. Each footstep is complemented by clanking of whatever is contained within the surgical bag he carries.

After a few blocks, the doctor stops an kneels beside a gutter. He removes a rat from its hole and examines it thoroughly. Various people wander on by yet no one pays him any mind. A doctor looking at a rat? Who cares.

William reaches into his cloak and removes a syringe. He then retrieves a vile of a strange green liquid he procured from the clinic from with the surgical bag. He extracts the substance into the syringe then injects it into the rat.

He the returns the rat to its hole and stands up, then continues to walk down to cobbled path.

Rheda strolled through the streets of the city with no actual purpose. She'd been inside a friend's house for most of three days and needed some air. Why normal diseases had to effect her she'd never know, but for the past few weeks she had been feeling particularly sick to her stomach and coughing constantly. Taking a deep breath, she stopped to admire the beautiful city. It was nice to not be cast out because she wasn't pure human, or pure dragon. She turned once again and continued down the street, her bare feet pressing lightly on the stone. A quick cough managed to escape her before she continued.

Doctor William Faustus

Tenzenokit

The sound of coughing draws my attention. I begin to move to the sound, all noise begins to drown from my ears.

The coughing was not normal. It sounded more guttural, raspy. This cough has been prevalent for at least 3 days, causing minor damage to the interior of the throat.

The coughing, by the pitch obviously came from a woman, however, somewhere in the vocal cords the air passes through and becomes slightly more gravely.

So not a human.

I quickly turn a corner, becoming face to face with the halfling.

Rheda stopped abruptly as she came face to face with the man. A surprised look came on her face and another cough escaped her. She hurriedly covered her mouth with one hand and looked back up at the man. "Sorry sir, I'm not feeling well and I wasn't paying attention." Her tail flicked slightly as she coughed, it poked through her dress as she had hid it before hand.

I turn my head slightly as i examine the woman. Various diagnoses run through my head as i attempt to narrow down the disease she is afflicted with. I then realize she probably expected a response. Stoping mid thought i spit out.

Rheda thought for a moment before responding, the only thing coming out of her being another suppressed cough. "I don't think it's anything serious, but I suppose it's best to know instead of assuming a simple cough." She light smile came across her face. She enjoyed a city where she wasn't branded as a freak or beastblood. She kept the state of mind that she shouldn't sit too comfortably though. Plenty of people who may accept her but there'll always be someone out of that crowd.
