Chiyoko was just beginning to dose off on the rooftop when Notwen emerged out onto the street. Chiyoko steeled her nerves and fought the urge to interfere. She slowly and quietly followed her dark skinned friend for several minutes. She finally broke down and Teleported down to the street.

Time always seemed to slow down when Chiyoko entered the astral realm. It was a strange experience, and something she could never quite get used to. First there was always darkness, and the sensation of falling. This was followed by the feeling of something brushing against her skin, and the ominous sensation that she was being watched. After a few moments the darkness faded away leaving her to see the world of the spirits. This part was never the same, as if she was traveling to a different spot in the plane each time she teleported. On this particular trip she seemed to be on the surface of a vast river that carried the souls of the dead to their final destinations. One of the spirits tried to grab on to her ankle but it's hand passed through the albino girl's body as if it didn't exist.

Chiyoko opened her eyes a few feet away from Notwen in an alleyway. She stepped out of the alleyway casually and adressed the dark skinned boy. "Hey Notwen are you going somewhere? Look I'm sorry about how I snapped at you earlier. Thank you for saving me. Where ever you're going I want to go with you. We are a team after all. Let me help." The albino girl said as she bowed her head apologetically.

Notwen had been on the wide street heading to the long corridor that led to the desert when a disturbance affected his awareness dome's area of effect. It was as if a rift opened up out of nowhere and suddenly a consciousness was there, a consciousness he knew all too well. It was Chiyoko. The albino kunoichi stepped out of an alley and fell into step with him. By what he could see, she had a new outfit that actually complimented her skin tone. She began speaking casually, asking Notwen where he was going. That's when the dark-skinned blonde noticed that Chiyoko also had a backpack, though somewhat smaller than his. The Uchiha narrowed his hazel eyes.
Why does she have a pack with her? he wondered. Notwen listened to his team mate going on about how she was sorry about how she had verbally attacked him earlier and apologized for it, also thanking him for saving her. Without even taking a break for the apology to register in his mind, Chiyoko went on saying that she wanted to go wherever he was going. That explains it, thought the dark-skinned blonde. It dawned on him now that Chiyoko had spied on him, even though she wouldn't consider it spying, and must have seen him packing his bag. She doesn't even know where i'm going, but here she is with a pack ready to travel. Notwen sighed when Chiyoko had finished speaking. "First off, yes i am. Secondly, i accept your apology even though i still hold some animosity for your actions. Finally, you don't even know where i am going. That being said, i have one question: Why were you spying on me?"

Notwen was now well within the long corridor that led to the desert, but Chiyoko was still with him. Above the clouds were beginning break up, revealing dark patches of the starry night sky. He had remained silent up to that point. The dark-skinned boy stopped abruptly and turned to face his team mate, looking into her pink eyes.
"Look Chiyo-san, where i'm going is full of danger. It's part of my field training, as well as an information gathering mission for myself. I will have to do things for my survival that you will not agree with because of your upbringing. I will be traveling for days on end to reach my destination, and most of that time will be spent in the wilderness." He paused, allowing for the gravity of his words to sink into his team mate's mind. "I would prefer you stay here, but if you want to come with me remember this: comfort will not be in abundance." Having said his piece, Notwen continued walking without looking back. A few moments later he exited the village and wandered out to the desert. Turning north by his compass, he headed to the border that separated Wind Country from Earth Country.

I know what you did there because i have a good memory. If you cannot keep up with my line counts, i'd prefer to go on alone. O_o
PM me your decision.

Chiyoko looked back on what her dark skinned friend had just said about spying on him and realized with a shock that she had indeed been spying on him when she had found him to apologize. The albino girl realized that she should probably apologize for prying into his private life. Then it occured to Chiyoko that she STILL didn't know where he was going. "Notwen I'm sorry for spying on you. I just wanted to find you and apologize, and you were packing your bag. I didn't know what to do, so I decided that I would go with you." Chiyoko said as she started walking forward.

After a short pause to collect her thoughts the albino girl continued to address her team mate. During that pause the sky cleared , revealing the beautiful twinkling stars in the midnight black sky. Suddenly Notwen turned to Chiyoko and stared into her eyes intensely. As he explained the dangers and discomforts of the journey ahead the albino girl started to worry. As her nerve began to falter something clicked in her mind. A vivid memory began to play back in her mind as the wind picked up again whipping the flowing cloak around her body.

In her memory Chiyoko was looking back on the leaf village she had just left. It was one of her family's annual visits to the massive village, and she was amazed by how easily life grew here. Everything was green, rainstorms weren't a miracle or something to be feared, and the people here were so happy. It was much different than the sand village, and she wished she could stay here. However she knew that she could never stay here because her duty was to her family, and they were leaving.

She had made a few friends here and they had all come out to say goodbye to their new friend. Chiyoko smiled as she waved back. One of her friends was late and pushed and shoved their way to the front. It was one of the Hokage's descendants. As they too waved goodbye Chiyoko smiled thinking back to the conversation they had earlier.

He had said one thing to her that would forever stick in her mind. "Even though you were born in the sand village, you have the will of fire. Remember to protect your friends, and those you hold dear." The boy said with a smile.

As the memory finished flowing through her mind Chiyoko shook her head slightly. "I don't care how dangerous, or uncomfortable this trip is going to be. I'm not letting you go alone, and if it is dangerous than all the better that you have someone to help you along the way." The albino girl said firmly.

Having said her piece Chyioko continued onward with Notwen. As they passed through the dessert somethings became abundantly clear to the young hyuuga girl. She realized that she should have packed more food, and that she should have dressed warmer. The desert chill began to cut through her body as the moon slowly scraped across the sky. The albino girl couldn't help but wonder how the man she had saved was doing. She thought of the jasmine tea that she would normally be having and let out a small sigh. Chiyoko would indeed miss those small comforts of home, but she refused to let her friend undertake this journey alone.

As the night went on Chyioko also began to miss her family. She could almost hear her father's warm hearty laugh, and she could swear that she could see her brother off in the distance with her byakugan. As the tempature continued to drop around them Chiyoko's internal body tempature began to drop. Her body began to shake but she ignored it as Notwen seemed to be fine.

As the moon began to dip behind the mountains of sand, the temperature began to rise and the young Hyuuga girl was overjoyed to see the light of the sun creeping over the horizon. She reached into her pack and grabbed the one bottle of water she had brought with her. She unscrewed the top of the ornate container and slowly took a long sip of the icy cold water. As she replaced the cap the immenseness of the journey that she had just begun finally clicked into place in her mind. She stopped for a moment to say her goodbyes to her home, even though by now they were far from the village. "So Notwen where are we going exactly?" Chiyoko asked as she closed her bag.

After heading home to tell his parents the news, he sat in his room, daydreaming of what was to come. He had always wanted to be a shinobi one day, fighting for his country, and that day has finally come. Zeth thought of all the academy students in his class, wondering if they had also graduated as he was not there for the ceremony. He did know for sure Wheels did not graduate. So much hate in one kid. i wonder what he went through to so much as have to beat the hate out of him? he wondered as he twirled his ink pen. his day was sort of ruined due to Wheel's hatred. He eventually wanted to for some tempura after classes that day. When he found out about the test, he was very happy and wanted to hopefully go and have a big party with his friends if they graduated. thinking of food had reminded him that he hasn't eaten all and his stomach started to beg for food, growling intensely at Zeth and giving him the hunger pains.

Zeth got up from his chair, going downstairs to notice that his parents had made a big dinner as a get better present; although with so much food it seemed to be more of a buffet. Platters upon platters of different cuisines, some foreign to the likes of the land. Western cuisine filled part of the table, including different tempura fish, lobster, some sort of yellow beans as it seemed; Zeth's parents explained that the beans were actually a vegetable called corn, which was something unheard of in his mind. There was a large flat bread with tomato sauce, cheese and multiple kinds of meat and vegetables sprinkled on top of it. There was also a platter of vegetable tempura accompanied with a few sauces to dip them in. Another platter had a turkey stuffed with a cranberry and apple stuffing. The rest of the table was filled with scrumptious desserts.

Zeth woke up, sun beaming into his eyes. He stretched, yawned and sat up in his bed. He noticed what time it was and realized if he didnt get up soon, he would be late for the ceremony. He quickly got dressed, knocking a couple things over, almost breaking a couple things. Before he ran off, he remembered to grab his headband. Once he grabbed it, he left the house, running down the streets as fast as he can.

Once he reached the academy for the academy, he noticed everyone was just getting ready.(finish later)

Michio exited the academy grounds, closing the gate behind him. Taking a drag from his cigarette, he looked down at the headband in his right hand, taking in the shine of the steel plate, the dark cloth, and the symbol of the hourglass. He smirked and placed his cigarette in his mouth, then tied the forehead protector around his right arm's bicep, making sure that it was tight enough to not just slide down his arm. 'Let's see... As a full-fledged shinobi, I should probably go see if there's anything to challenge my skills. Or I could seek out someone to learn some jutsu from.' It's bad enough that outside of the wall walking and genjutsu release, he hadn't learned any other jutsu. His instructor was extremely displeased by Michio's lack of caring for the basics, but it wasn't his fault that the basics weren't challenging. Now that he had graduated, however, Michio was feeling some regret that he didn't bother learning techniques like the illusionary clones, untying rope, or substituting his body with an inanimate object.

'Hindsight is twenty twenty, though. Maybe I should learn those things... nah. I'll just be quick enough to not need diversions or substitutions. And if I get tied up, I can always cut the ropes with my bones.' he thought, beginning to walk to his apartment to give Shisara the good news. Michio took another drag from his cigarette and then exhaled, a decent cloud of smoke bellowing from his lips. 'Maybe now that I've graduated, Shisara can teach me some jutsu that she's learned over the years.'

A few minutes after he left the academy, he arrived home and put out the cigarette in a pot outside of the door. Years ago, Shisara had banned smoking in the apartment and had bought him a stone pot for the sole purpose of having a place for Michio to put his burnt out cigarette butts. He looked at the pot and closed the lid, cutting off oxygen from the burning embers. Even though they lived in a stone structure, there were wooden and cloth decorations that could catch ablaze.

He opened the door to find Shisara in the kitchen, cooking up a large pot of ramen. “Hey Shisara-chan. I'm back.” Michio announced, and Shisara turned around suddenly.

“Michio-kun!” she exclaimed, then rushed over to him. “How did it go?” She then saw the headband wrapped around his arm and squealed, jumping up and down. “CONGRATULATIONS!” Michio grinned and rubbed the back of his head in a very boyish manner.

“Thank you, Shisara-chan.” he said, then looked to the stove. “What are you cooking? It smells delicious.” Her expression turned to shock and she rushed back to the stove where the water was beginning to boil over.

“It's going to be shrimp ramen with chicken bouillon seasoning. I wanted to get your opinion on it before I submitted the idea to my boss. I'm hoping it'll get me a raise! We could use a few new things around the house, and some extra money could be useful. I don't expect that you'll be contributing much of your mission ryo to the household, so I guess it's up to me to provide us with the comfortable living conditions... as usual.” Shisara told him, and he shrugged apologetically.

“To be fair, you've been a shinobi for years. You've had years to figure out what exactly you wanted to do, and now you have it. I need to figure out for myself what I want. Which reminds me; can I count on you to show me a few things? I mean, the teachers at the academy made learning anything so boring, but I think if you showed me, you could make it interesting and fun.” The Kaguya told his room mate, and watched as she flushed slightly. She turned back to the ramen and nodded, and he smiled. “Thank you, Shisara-chan.”

After lunch, Shisara and Michio traveled to the local training grounds located on the outskirts of the main city, just inside of the south canyon entrance to the village.

“Alright, Michio-kun, what exactly are you looking to learn?” Shisara asked him as they settled in, kicking rocks out of the way, moving tumbleweeds and pulling up overgrown desert vegetation.

“Well, what ninjutsu have you learned since the academy? I think that's a good place to start.”

“Ninjutsu? I thought you wanted to focus on taijutsu?”

“I do, but I'm bound to get into combative engagements eventually. It's just how the life of a ninja is. And if my opponent keeps me at a distance, I need to have some offensive ranged attacks in order to defeat them.”

Shisara nodded, then thought for a few moments. “Okay, I've got one, but it won't be easy. Using this technique, you're going to create blades of wind using your chakra alone to summon a strong gust that you'll send at your opponent and-”

“OH! I've seen that one! Sayomi used that on me during the exam!” Michio exclaimed, and Shisara's eyes widened.

“You had to fight Sayomi as your test?! What in the world was the instructor thinking?! She's touched in the head and loves to humiliate people!”

“It's okay. I ended up humiliating her instead. She tried to match me in hand to hand combat, which is my specialty, and then after she wasn't in a good shape to focus, she tried to lock me in a genjutsu that would've had three of her kicking the snot out of me. But she didn't focus her chakra well enough and I was able to turn the tables on her. I kind of feel bad for her. I don't think she expected to have to face me when she agreed to test the students.”

“Michio... she's completely sadistic, but that's only because she has doubt in her own abilities...”

“I know, I know, that's why she's a bully. Maybe she'll rethink things now though. What better way to fix a bully than to bully them instead?”

Shisara sighed, then shook her head. “Can't argue with that logic, I suppose. Anyways, let's begin. What you need to do is first focus your chakra, then spread it to the wind that's surrounding all of us. Once you do that, you need to imagine that the wind is concentrating and becoming like the swinging blades of a series of swords. Then, throw that set of blades at your target. In this case, your target is going to be that boulder over there. Don't you dare use it on me, Michio-kun.”

Michio nodded, a smirk crawling across his face. “Okay, focus chakra, summon wind, cut Shisara. Got it.”

“NO! Focus chakra, summon wind, cut BOULDER!” She exclaimed, crossing her arms. She knew he was teasing her, but she was trying to take this seriously. She wished he would.

Michio chuckled and then made the Ram hand sign and closed his eyes. 'Okay, focus.... feel the wind around me... focus.... feel it and pull it towards me... OW!' He fell backwards as something slashed across his arm. He opened his eyes and looked at where he'd been cut, a small incision stretching across his forearm. Shisara sighed exasperatedly, then put her hands on her hips.

“Baka! Don't cut yourself! Cut the boulder! This is a simple jutsu, how could you screw this up!?”

“Hey, I'm a fist fighter... er... claw fighter! I don't normally do this mysticism stuff!” he retorted, scowling at her as he rose to his feet and brushed off his pants. He once again made the hand signs for the Ram. 'Ok, let's try this again. Focus, feel the wind... focus, form the wind around me. Just not on me.. OW! AGAIN?!' He fell backward again as the wind cut him once more, but this time it cut across his cheek.

Shisara sighed again, “We're gonna be here all day if you keep hurting yourself...”

Shinken was almost in a daze as he took his headband from the many laid out on the desk before him. It was the first real step in his Journey toward redeeming his family. Wanting to know who he might be paired up with as a team mate Shinken stayed to watch the other students take the test. Most of them weren't that impressive, but one did catch his eye. The man was brutal and cocky, but he was able to get the job done. His methods did seem to have an over arching plan but it wasn't one that Shinken would have used. He was particularly impressed by the Student's Taijutsu skills.

The rest of the exam passed without note and after four more students finished their exam Shinken decided he needed some air. He wasn't sure if he should go tell his parents or if he should treat himself to a bowl or ramen. In the end he decided to do neither. He was a ninja now and that required a massive amount of dedication. If he didn't keep up on his training he would end up dead in the field if his teachers were to be believed. That wasn't what he wanted for himself or his family. It would just cause his parents more pain.

The newly crowned Gennin decided that he would instead head to the training ground. When he arrived he saw the student from the Academy who had so brutally fought his way to victory in his exams. Shinken decided that he would sit back and observe his training for a while. The man seemed to struggle with a wind based Ninjutsu for a while before moving on to Taijutsu. There was a woman with him and she made a Clone to demonstrate a technique. Shinken inched closer and listened in on the conversation the two were having.

The other ninja was very practical in his evaluation of the technique he had been shown and Shinken was inclined to agree with what he was saying. The technique did have it's flaws and wouldn't work well against an opponent of equal skill and speed. He requested his training partner to create another clone as he had an idea, and Shinken smirked in amusement. What did he have up his sleeve? When Michio's attack turned into a half assed tackle Shinken could barely contain a fit of laughter. Apparently he was unable to strike the woman's clone because of it's appearance. Shinken found that to be very odd. It was just a clone and it wasn't going to cause her any damage, his logic made no sense.

When the man asked that the clone look like an Inuzuka Shinken's curiosity was peaked. His curiosty intensified even more when he saw how brutally Michio attacked the Inuzuka look alike. It was as if he had become a feral animal. What on earth could that man have against the Inuzuka that would provoke such wild anger?

His movements had been fast and strong, but wild and uncontrolled. If someone had the speed to match him they could have easily dodged the attacks, or kicked him away. Perhaps that was something he would bring up to the man. Though with how angry he had been He doubted that was the best idea. So instead he watched in silence for a few moments, approaching only when he was sure the man was calm. Perhaps he would make a good sparring partner, and if nothing else Michio could teach him a few things about Taijutsu.

"Quite the technique that was. I saw you fight the Chuunin in the exams today. You were brutal and unorthodox, but effective. Perhaps you'd care to have a sparring match? I could use a few Taijutsu pointers." Shinken said as looked Michio up and down.

Michio grunted and rose to his feet once again, focused this time on pulling the wind to the area in front of him, and imagined it slashing and cutting the air until it reached the boulder and started dicing it into pieces. He heard the wind pick up, it didn't cut him, and he opened his eyes to see the wind scratching the rock repeatedly.

“I take it back, we're not gonna be here all day. Good job, Michio-kun.” Shisara told him, and he smiled at her. “Now, let's work on some taijutsu, because I know that's what you're really here for. There are a couple of things I've been taught over the years, and a few things I've seen some of my opponents do. Let's start with something I saw an enemy do to one of my teammates. What he'd called out was 'Konoha Shofu', which translates to 'Leaf Rising Wind'. What you need to do is run up to your opponent, crouch low, and kick them in the jaw to send them flying into the air. From there, you'll be able to use other taijutsu techniques while your opponent is less capable of defending against them. I'll show you what it looked like.

Michio nodded and braced himself, but Shisara made the Ram hand sign and created a clone of herself. “What? You thought I was gonna use that on you? You irritate me sometimes, Michio-kun, but not that much.” she giggled and moved ten steps from her clone.

“Okay, here goes. Pay attention now, because I don't really want to do this twice. Taijutsu's not really my thing.” Shisara crouched low, then sprang forward, running at her clone. When she stepped right in front of her bunshin, she spun and kicked upwards, striking the clone in the jaw and sending it a few feet into the air. She followed through by leaping into the air and driving an axe kick into the clone's stomach, sending it back to the ground where it dispersed into a cloud of smoke.

Panting, Shisara looked up at Michio after she landed. “That's the Leaf Rising Wind.”

Michio stood and stared at her for a second, then tilted his head. “Hm... an interesting move, but there's a flaw with it. Not in the way you performed it, but it looks like there's too much of an opening. For starters, while you're spinning you leave your entire back exposed, and then when you're in the middle of the kick, your entire torso is left wide open. If the opponent predicts it in the slightest and moves out of the way, it would be difficult to defend yourself from an attack...” he said, then thought for a moment, “I've got an idea. Could I get you to make another clone after you've caught your breath?”

Shisara nodded and took a deep breath, attempting to regulate her oxygen intake. After a few more moments, she stood up straight and created another clone, then backed away from it. Michio crouched and then sprang forward, decreasing the gap between them but when he reached where he needed to be to use the technique, he crouched once more and jumped slightly forward. He looked up into Shisara's clone's eyes and hesitated, and the moved turned into an unintentional tackle. The clone and Michio both collapsed into the dirt, and the real Shisara started laughing uncontrollably at him. “What was that?!” she cried out, falling to her knees with a giggling fit.

The clone dispersed and Michio sat up, a serious look on his face. “Shisara-chan, I need for the clone to look like something else. I can't hit you or even something that looks like you.” Shisara stopped laughing and flushed, but nodded. “Make it look like an Inuzuka, Shisara-chan.”

Shisara's eyes widened as she remembered why Michio had requested an Inuzuka specifically. 'He still harbors that hatred.. I knew it!' She stood and once again made a clone, creating it in front of him. But this time it was transformed to that of a male Inuzuka. The Inuzuka looked down at Michio and glared. “Go for it.”

Michio jumped to his feet and leaped several feet away, then kicked off from the ground towards his opponent. He ran at the Inuzuka until he was only a foot away, crouched low, and sprang upwards. “Rising Fist of the Wind Dragon!” Michio called out, catching the clone under the jaw with his fist in an uppercutting motion, sending the bunshin up and into the air. Michio followed up by coming back to the ground extending his bone claws, then leaping above the clone and starting a series of slashes and cuts so quick that the eye could barely keep up. “BERSERKER BARRAGE!”

The clone was torn to shreds before dissapating, leaving Michio semi-floating in the air for a moment before gravity kicked in and made him fall back to the ground. He landed on bended knee and stayed there with his head hung, panting incredibly. His claws retracted back through his knuckles, past his wrists, and into his forearms. Slowly, he raised his head and looked at Shisara, who was watching him with an expression mixed with fear and astonishment.

Shisara and Michio both looked to Shinken after he spoke up, and Shisara looked at Michio. Michio was still scowling and panting from his violent outburst. “Katsuna Shinken, right?” he growled unintentionally, “You want some sparring tips? I hope you're not looking for an easy lesson.”

Shisara stood suddenly and reached a hand out. “Michio, are sure that's a good idea? You still haven't calmed down-”

“I'm fine, Shisara-chan. I won't kill him.”

Shisara stared at him for a second, then nodded and stepped out of the way.

Michio rose to his feet and his muscles twitched. “What exactly are you looking to learn? I can't exactly teach you how to shape your own bones. That's specific to me.”

Shinken was taken aback by how quickly this man's anger shifted to another target. He wasn't completely out of control but it did make the young ninja uncomfortable. He almost took an involuntary step back when Michio growled his name. He thought for just a moment that perhaps this ninja had a grudge against his family as well, and his thoughts drifted to what people would say if he disabled a fellow sand ninja. The tension he felt in his muscles eased slightly when the man seemed to bring himself further into check, but he was still off put when the man said he wouldn't kill him. Would Michio really kill another sand ninja just because he was upset? Was that the kind of treatment he could expect from other ninja?

It took Shinken a moment to collect himself before he could begin to formulate an answer to Michio's question. What did he want to learn? It wasn't as if he could learn how to be faster or stronger from a teacher, and his instincts were already substantial. Perhaps what he needed to learn was how better to take the offensive while being pushed. During the exam his attacks had been met with quick and decisive counter attacks.

"You may have noticed I struggled in the Exam. My attacks left me open. I can spot an opening but I can't take advantage of it without getting beat down. I'd like to rectify that if i can." Shinken said as he looked over to the concerned female ninja standing next to Michio. Perhaps Asking this person for a sparring match was a mistake but it was over and done with now. The only thing Shinken could do now was try not to get hurt too badly. He did always have his genjutsu to fall back on, and he was pretty confident in his newest technique. The amount of pain it inflicted would be enough to stop even a ninja in his tracks. At least that was what he hoped. He hadn't actually tested it on an opponent yet.

Not trusting the seemingly feral ninja to give him time to get into a proper fighting stance Shinken took a few steps back to get some distance as soon as he had finished speaking, and immediately slid into a combat stance. He really hoped this guy didn't use his claws. He had seen what they did to a Chuunin and he didn't want to be on their receiving end.

Michio heard what Shinken said and pulled his pack of cigarettes from his vest. “So you basically want to learn how to not over extend. I think I can accommodate you.” He lit up a smoke and then put the pack back into his vest's left chest pocket. “Watch me as I come at you, copy the extensions I make, don't move further. I won't go easy on you, but you'll learn soon enough I hope.”

Michio crouched low and then sprang forward, picking up as much speed as he could, almost becoming like a blur. He kept his eyes on his opponent and saw that despite how fast he was moving, Shinken's eyes could keep up with me. 'Good.' he thought, and as soon as he was within a couple of feet, he leaped into the air, attempting a spin kick that would strike the boy from behind the head. As he did so, he kept his hands and his other leg at the ready, prepared to strike away any attack that the opponent could deliver, including a grapple initiated by grabbing his calf.

Shinken nodded in acknowledgement of Michio's instructions. The young Uchiha was surprised at how fast the Kaguya could move. Michio's movements were fluid despite his immense speed and Shinken was almost caught off guard by the sudden explosion of speed. Something in him reacted before he could even think. 'Drop down, avoid the kick. Move into his blindspot, take advantage of his air born position, Sweep the Leg.' The thoughts came unbidden to the young Uchiha's mind, and he reacted on them without hesitating or waiting even a moment.

The dodge and counter attack seemed to go quite well as the kick sailed over Shinken's head. He wondered if there was a look of shock on the Kaguya's face as he waited only moments for his opponent's foot to hover just off of the ground. A smirk crossed the young Uchiha's face as he shifted his weight and swung his leg in a wide arc hoping to trip Michio or at the very least throw him off balance. He didn't care what Effect his attack had on his opponent, the important thing was to keep the pressure on. If he could push his opponent back and keep him off balance he would have the advantage in the rest of the fight.

'Shore up stance, push with legs, jumping uppercut.' Again the thoughts came before he could understand the situation, and he acted on his instincts and the attack came out flawlessly. His momentum from the spin transferred into the rising motion of the uppercut and when combined with the push from his legs threw him high into the air. If that blow connected the force would be devastating.

Shinken was smiling until he realized what he had done. He had stolen the Kaguya's move with out asking and used it against him in an actual combat situation. The smile dropped from his face and his eyes widened every so slightly. He was very sure he wasn't going to like what was coming next.

Michio watched as Shinken ducked under his spinning kick and smirked to himself. 'Just as I thought, he could see me. Looks like the boy's got potential after all.' He ceased his spin and went to land on his feet, ready to spring backwards and prepare another attack, but before he could touch dirt he found himself falling forward as something pushed his legs backward and out from under him. 'What?!'

Before he could see what was happening, a hand smashed into his jaw, forcing him to bite down onto his tongue as his head recoiled back. The cigarette flew from his mouth and spun in the air to land in the hardened sand. Michio grunted from the surprising strike and flew backwards, hovering a few feet off of the ground before sailing backwards and landing in the dirt. He grunted once more upon landing.

Shisara gasped at the scene unfolding before her, hands clasping in front of her jaw, which had dropped. 'Michio was hit? How is that possible? Who is this Genin that he can not only see Michio when he was moving that fast, but also counter his attack with the same move that Michio himself had just used?'

Michio groaned and growled, using his stomach muscles to sit up as his right hand massaged his jaw. “I never thought I'd see the day when someone at least four years younger than me was able to get the drop on me. For that, I congratulate you. But the games end here-”

“Michio-bozu! All he did was what you told him. You wanted him to do exactly what you did, and he did so splendidly.” A voice called from behind him, and Michio's ears twitched. He looked behind him to see that Sayomi was perched on the boulder that he'd used the Wind Blades on.

“Healed already, Sayomi? I'd have thought it would've taken a bit longer to recover from our fight than an hour or two.”

Sayomi shrugged, “What can I say? Our previous instructor is skilled with medical class jutsu.”

“I wasn't talking about your physical injuries, Sayomi-tan.”

Sayomi flushed red and glared at him, knowing full well what he meant. Michio had meant that her ego needed time to recover, and from her reaction, he was right on both accounts. Her ego had clearly not healed. But more than his implication, she was visibly upset that he'd used the honorific of 'tan', implying that she was a child.

“What are you doing here, Sayomi-tan?” Michio asked, getting to his feet and brushing off his pants before massaging his jaw again.

“Originally, I came for a rematch, but I see that you're fighting the whelp that barely passed the test against me. So I think I'll wait right here until you get bored of slapping around Shinken-bozu.” she replied, maneuvering so that she could sit more comfortably on the rock.

Michio winked at her and then turned to Shinken just in time to see him stepping on Michio's cigarette. “You know, you really shouldn't smoke. It's going to damage your respiratory system and could ruin your ability to fight for an extended period of time.”

Michio looked down at his fallen vice and then his gaze ascended to Shinken's face, a scowl forming, which turned into a glare, which turned into a stare of unimaginable fury. “THOSE AREN'T CHEAP! YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT!”

And with that, Michio abandoned all skill and speed and merely began to run at Shinken who began backing away with a look of surprised panic. Before he could reach him though, a blur appeared in his path and he stopped short to see that it was Shisara.

“You said you wouldn't kill him. You gave your word, Michio-kun! I'm holding you to it!” she yelled at him, and his expression turned from anger to despair.

“But those were expensive, Shisara-chan! They cost me 50 ryo! That's 50 ryo that I had to borrow from you, remember?!”

“F-FIFTY!?” she exclaimed, her expression now turning to anger. “WHY ARE YOU BUYING SUCH EXPENSIVE CIGARETTES?!”

Michio now began to back away in panic. “Shi-Shisara-chan. Your temper... your blood pressure...”

“DON'T YOU SHISHARA-CHAN ME!!!”

And the berating continued for a few minutes as Sayomi looked on with extreme amusement.

Shiken couldn't believe what he had just done. He had actually landed that combo. Had his skills really grown that much? How could they have when he was struggling so badly in his exam? This man had utterly destroyed the Chuunin while Shinken had barely held his own. Was he holding back? No that wasn't it...something was different. It was like he could see things before they were happening. Like he had endless time to react. He wasn't using any new Jutsu so it couldn't be an effect of his chakra. This was something he was going to have to figure out later, but right now he wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

He only had a moment to revel in his achievement before Michio got back up. Shinken gulped hard as he saw the expression on the Kaguya's face. He clearly wasn't happy about what had transpired, and given what he had done to that Clone the young uchiha didn't want to think about what was going to happen next. Before Shinken could decide what to do the Kaguya was interrupted by a female's voice. It took the young Gennin a moment to place it as the Chuunin he had fought in the exams. The two ninja seemed to know each other and Shinken stepped back and let them have their conversation while he listened and watched. Michio seemed to be taunting the woman who's name was Sayomi. She seemed to be interested in a fight and Shinken decided it would be a good opportunity to put her in her place, but first he had to do one thing.

His uppercut had dislodged the cigarette from Michio's mouth and it was till burning on the ground. With a sigh he stepped on the toxic vice and rotated his foot grinding it into the hard packed sand. He told the Kaguya that the smoking was bad for his health and insinuated that it might even get him killed in the field one day. It only took a moment before he realized that he had made a mistake when Michio's face twisted into a scowl and he fixed his glare on Shinken. The young ninja could feel the fury radiating of of the Kaguya and had to stop himself from taking a step back. Michio was charging at him with no sense of technique or skill. It was just wild fury, and Shinken's head began to spin with information again.

He analysed the way Michio was moving, and the lack of stance or proper footing. How his weight was centered above and ahead his feet. The blank look in his eyes almost gave the young Uchiha pause but his instincts took over. 'Dodge to the side, kick the back of his knee, get distance, wait for him to charge again. Wear him down until you can strike a finishing blow' The thoughts flooded his mind.

Just before he was going to act a blur came between him and the angry ninja. It was the woman Michio had been training with. She put her life on the line to stop the charge and it worked. Shinken was grateful that he didn't have to fight Michio. One of them would have been in rough shape if they had clashed, and if he had lost he might not have been around to regret his actions.

When Michio was accosted by his training partner for using her money Shinken had to stifle a laugh. The absurdity of how quickly the situation had changed was almost baffling. One moment he was preparing to fight for his life and the next he was watching his opponent get bitched at, by the woman who saved him, over the price of a pack of cigarettes. The Kaguya had gone from raging beast to mild mannered in a matter of seconds.

Shinken decided to take this opportunity to turn back to the Chuunin who had been so brutal in her examinations of the academy students with a grim look on his face. He wasn't going to let her get away with hurting people like that and taking pleasure in it. He was going to put her in her place, and show her that she wasn't all she thought she was cracked up to be.

"So Sayomi was it? You seem like you're pretty sure of yourself. You look down on people, and you enjoy hurting them. If you think you're woman enough why don't you fight me?" The words came to Shinken's mouth unbidden. He couldn't believe what he was doing. It was as if there was some dormant part of him coming to the surface, and despite the fact he had nearly lost to Sayomi in the exams he felt fully confident here. Maybe it was the fact that he had just pulled off an insane combo on Michio, or maybe it was his new gifts emboldening him. What ever the case his face was stern and un-moving. There was no doubt in his eyes as he placed his challenge

"Really kid? You think you can take me? Well I'm happy to put you down, just like the rest of the trash in the exams. It's your funeral Katsuna chan." Sayomi said mockingly as she slid off of the rock like a snake preparing to strike. Shinken felt his anger flare up inside of him as she bragged about putting his fellow classmates through hell. The image of Kaizen on the ground as she slammed her fist into his chest flickered through his mind.

Then there was the way she had torn apart his mind in a genjutsu. A thin smile crossed Shinken's lips as he thought of his plan of attack. If she liked genjutsu so much he would show her exactly what it was like to be inside of one. There was a technique he had been saving to test on someone and this seemed like the perfect time.

As Sayomi approached him with a cocky swagger Shinken cleared his mind and felt his chakra flowing through his body. To make the most powerful genjutsu he could he would have to clear his mind. Suddenly everything became crystal clear. He could see each and every movement she was making, hear her breathing and her heart rate. He could even trace the movement of Sayomi's eyes. There was nothing else but this fight. Nothing but himself and his opponent.

When Sayomi moved to strike Shinken formed a the tiger sign with one hand and his mind began to go through the different courses of action until he settled on one. The female had thrown a right hook aimed at Shinken's chin. The young Uchiha stepped back just enough to feel the wind from her blow rush across his face, and then struck out with his index and middle fingers barely grazing her forearm.

Sayomi let out a shriek of pain as her arm suddenly felt as if it had touched red hot magma. When she looked down at her arm she saw that the flesh had melted away leaving only the black of burnt bone. The Chuunin almost fell backwards as she desperately tried to get some distance from Shinken. To any onlookers it would look as if the young Uchiha had simply grazed Sayomi's forearm with his fingers and sent her stumbling back, but in reality he had locked her into a genjutsu. Shinken smiled as the Chuunin looked at him with an expression of horror.

"What...What are you?!" Sayomi demanded as she cradled her arm. She obviously thought Shinken was using some kind of ninjutsu to attack her body rather than her mind. The young Gennin's smile widened as he slowly started to walk towards the Chuunin.

"What I am, is Justice. Justice for all of those of the hidden sand who have suffered from your Sadism." Shinken said as he stepped within striking range of his opponent. She didn't waste the opportunity to attack and attempted a snap kick to the side to catch the young gennin off guard.

Shinken's mind barely processed the information in front of him in time. His eyes saw her muscles tense just before the strike and he brought his arms up to block the attack, but not before making the one handed tiger seal again. When his hand touched her leg she let out another scream of pain and collapsed under her own weight. In her eyes there was a hand print shaped burn on her shin that went down to the very bone.

The Chuunin scrambled away from Shinken the best she could. He moved slower now as her kick had actually done a significant amount of damage despite being blocked, but still he approached her. She put her hands out to try and stop him but he formed the tiger seal again and reached down to touch her face. The arms she tried to use to block went limp as she screamed again when he touched them.

"NO! GOD PLEASE NO!" Sayomi screamed as Shinken's hand grew ever closer to her face. He gave her a wicked grin as his hand finally grasped her face. She could hear the sizzling of her flesh and feel her eyes melting as everything went black. She could smell the burning of her flesh and she let out a scream before her tongue too was burnt away. That was when Shinken released the genjutsu. He stood above her with a grin on his face, before she passed into unconsciousness out of fear and shock.

Suddenly Shinken became very aware that he had onlookers. He wondered what they would think of him for being so cruel, though he hoped this would put some respect into Sayomi's mind. That was when a gust of wind and sand brought a piece of parchment flying into his hand. It said that he was to meet the Kazekage in his office. The young Uchiha gulped audibly. Had the Kazekage been watching that fight? Did he know how far he had gone? Had he gone too far? Was he going to be stripped of his Ninja status? That was when he saw that it was not only his name on the piece of paper but Michio Kaguya's as well.

"It looks like the Kazekage wants to see us Michio..." Shinken said as he folded up the paper and placed it in the pocket of his vest.

“DON'T YOU SHISARA-CHAN ME!”

“Shisara, please, calm down. You'll scare the boy!”

“WHAT BOY?! THE GENIN WHO JUST KNOCKED YOUR TEETH IN OR THE ONE IN YOUR BRAIN WHO CAN'T SEEM TO UNDERSTAND WHY SPENDING SOMEONE ELSE'S RYO ON SOMETHING SO FRIVILOUS AS CIGARETTES IS A BAD THING?!”

“I'll... I'll pay you back. I told you that yesterday!”

“AND YOU SAID THAT A WEEK AGO TOO! AND THE WEEK BEFORE THAT!”

Michio could see that she was fuming with anger and couldn't think of a single thing to say to her that would make her calm down. He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, closing his eyes as he tried to think of something to say that wouldn't drag the argument on.

“Look Shisara, I just became a genin today. By no later than tomorrow, the Kazekage will have me put on a team, and I can start going on missions. As you well know, missions mean money. Money means I can pay you back. I just need a little more time.” he told her, the comparison of his pleas to that of a debtor to a loan shark not failing to catch his attention. Michio glanced over at Shinken and saw that he had left the two of them to their bickering only to seemingly pick a fight with Sayomi. 'What is he getting himself into now?' the Kaguya wondered, unable to take his eyes off of Sayomi and Shinken. Suddenly, his jaw was grabbed and his vision was turned back to a now red in the face Shisara.

“YOU LOOK AT ME WHEN I'M YELLING AT YOU, DAMMIT!” she screamed at him, and he took a step back instinctively, “THE FIRST THING YOU DO WHEN YOU GET YOUR FIRST MISSION'S MONEY IS PAY ME BACK FOR ALL OF THE TIMES I'VE LENT YOU MONEY! AND DON'T THINK I HAVEN'T BEEN KEEPING TRACK! YOU'RE UPWARDS OF 400 RYO RIGHT NOW!”

Michio jumped at the number, “400?!”

“JUST THIS YEAR! I always wondered where you were getting the money for your disgusting, nauseating smoking habit! How could you?! You kept telling me that you were using it for lunch meals!”

“I was! Most of it anyway...” he trailed off, wishing that he could just stop being so detrimentally honest with her right now. But somehow Michio knew that if he even held one thing back, kept one tidbit of information from her, stretched the truth even a millimeter, it would come back to bite him hard in the rear later on down the line.

“And the rest you spent on your cancer sticks!” she accused, and he nodded, now dropping his head.

“Look, Shisara-chan. I really am sorry for not using all of the money you lent me on what I told you it was for. I have an addiction, and it's been the only thing that's kept me from getting expelled from the ninja academy. There were so many times where I wanted to back hand the instructor and it was the promise of a release that kept me from doing so.”

Shisara was starting to calm down and even though she was still scowling, she nodded knowingly. “Look, Michio-kun, I know that the instructor is a maniacal jerk that likely wouldn't hesitate to automatically fail any student that didn't fall in line with his tyrannical commands if he were allowed to, but you know that I strongly disapprove of your choice of stress relieving outlet. And if you don't pay me back immediately, we will be having this argument again. But next time, I can't promise that I won't hit you. And it won't be some love tap.”

Michio gave her one of his signature boyish grins and tilted his chin at her. “Love tap? Wouldn't that imply that you love me?”

Her eyes widened and she flushed. “Sh-Shut up. That's not what it means.”

“You loooove me. You know you loooove me.”

“BAKA!” she shouted and punched him in the left shoulder, giving him a dead arm.

“Ow ow ow!”

'AIEEEEEE!”

Both Michio and Shisara jumped at the scream and looked at the source only to find that Sayomi was on the ground, cowering from Shinken while holding her arm. They both could only stare as he started to advance slowly towards the Chuunin with an aura of menace that could rival some of the ANBU elite. She asked him what he was, not whom, as if he were a monster or some creature of evil. His response was something of a speech, and then she kicked at him. The attack hit home, striking Shinken in the ribs, but it was almost as if it had no effect. Shinken merely grabbed Sayomi's leg and she howled with pain, falling to the ground and staring at her leg in horror.

“What the hell?” Michio asked Shisara, “He didn't even do anything. Why's she acting like he just inflicted a crippling wound?”

“He must have her in a genjutsu... but that's impossible. He's just a Genin, and she's a well-experienced Chuunin. She would surely be able to tell that she's under the effects of something like that. The only way is... no way.”

“What? Only way is what?”

“He's got her under a genjutsu that's no different than the real world. It's not exactly an advanced type of jutsu, but to the unwary or overconfident, which Sayomi definitely is, it's the perfect genjutsu to use. I wasn't aware that the academy instructor was teaching those type of jutsu to his students...”

“He wasn't, or I'd have tried to learn it. That kind of a jutsu would've been a challenge and you know how I love challenges.”

Shisara nodded, and then they both watched in horror as Sayomi pleaded for Shinken to not come any closer to no avail. They looked on as he placed his hands on her face in a simple fashion and caused her to let out a bloodcurdling scream of extreme pain and horror.

“Damn...” Michio said, looking slightly sick to his stomach.

“What?”

“That could've been me.”

They both blanched and looked at one another. Shisara subconsciously grabbed Michio's hand and looked back to Shinken. “It could've been...”

As soon as Shinken had stepped away, he looked at them and they both tensed. He stared at them with wide eyes and hint of fear of admonishment for his actions. Michio released Shisara's hand and went to step forward against his better judgment when the wind picked up and a roll of parchment flew into Shinken's hand. He watched as his fellow Genin gulped loud enough that he could also hear it and unrolled the notification. He looked up at Michio and informed him that they were both being summoned by the Kazekage. Michio also gulped, hoping that whatever Shinken had done wasn't going to be pinned on him as well. But it was unwise to ignore a summons.

“Then I suppose we had better not keep him waiting.” Michio replied, looking to Shisara. “Can you take Sayomi to the medical ninja? We can't just leave her here.”

Shisara nodded silently and put a hand on Michio's shoulder before moving to scoop up Sayomi's unconscious body.

Michio pulled out another cigarette and lit up, took a long drag and exhaled, then looked back to Shinken. “Well... let's go get punished.”
