There are tons in Chinese!
Even if you count tones as part of "sound the same," there are still plenty of things like:
电 (dian4) -- electricity 店 (dian4) -- store
做 (zuo4) -- to do 坐 (zuo4) -- to sit
是 (shi4) -- to be 事 (shi4) -- matter, affair 式 (shi4) -- test, to try 室 (shi4) -- room and so on.
And then if you take tones out of the picture (say, if you're tone-deaf or something, and so they'll all sound the same to you anyway):
汽车 (qi4che1) -- car 骑车 (qi2che1) -- to ride a bike
看书 (kan4shu1) -- to read books 砍树 (kan3shu4) -- to chop down trees
and of course the ever-so-popular and hilariously common mistake:
请问 (qing3 wen4) -- "If I may ask..." 请吻 (qing2 wen3) -- "Please kiss me."
