The Doctor smiled at her gently. It was hard enough losing everyone in your species without having Torchwood bullying you around. Often all that was needed was a small kindness, he knew he wished for that plenty of times.
"Ok! The shuffle button it is... just had this one installed too," he grinned and poked at an ipod he had re-purposed and installed into the console. "And we're off!"
The TARDIS lurched and sped through the Vortex. "Oh... hold on!"

Ally fell backwards. She yelped as she caught hold of the railing and held onto it. "WHEEEEE!!!" she said happily.

They landed with a whooshing noise and the Doctor ran to check on the instruments.
"Aha! Earth! 16,000 B.C. Bit dull and cold, with mammoths," he tapped the iPod again, "lets try something a little more interesting..."
The TARDIS shot off again.

Ally grinned as they took off again. Good thing they din't hang out in the Ice age. That really would be a epic fail for a time machine.

There was another rush of and the TARDIS landed once more.
"Ah here we are... England, 1533! Lovely year, lovely place, lovely people!" he waved at the door, "It's all yours..."
He always knew the first trip was the most exciting.

Ally walked slowly to the door. She then opened it and her eye's widened. "wow" she said and she walked outside where the sun surrounded her. And people dressed in renessiance outfits were going about. This was no play. It was real.

He stepped out beside her, hands in his pockets and all smiles.
"1533! As I said, lovely year. King Henry the 8th is king, and should be booting out the Catholic church from England," he grinned circling her before standing to her left. "Better look out for for him he's really cheeky and a devil with the ladies."

She turned to the Doctor "I Love you" she said with long breaths. She then turned to the rest of the world "I can't believe this is happening."

"Well you better start believing it," he grinned and winked, "you're living it. Now then! Shall we explore?"
He extended an arm towards the center of town and began walking towards the bustle.

"What, in the center of town? Well just about anything really," he grinned as he hopped atop a barrel for a better look, "ah look at that... they're nailing in a proclamation... Looks like today is the first day of the Church of England! Oh and look at that! An entourage and everything!"
He brought out his brainy specs and put them on. Through them he could see the proceedings quite well.

She pulled him down so she dould look. "Does that mean the king will be there?" she said while trying to read the document but couldn't.

"More than likely," he said noting all the fancy banners and horses, "my he does like his ribbons..."
Just then the crowds parted and the the procession passed through. A fine gold and ebony carriage was at its center.
"Ooh, a parade! I like parades," he smiled as jumped atop a crate and watched the royal carriage pass by.

Ally was still standing on the barrel watching everything in amazment. She looked over at the Doctor and smiled. This was the best thing that ever happened in her life.

Just then the procession stopped and a foot-soldier walked up to Ally.
"Excuse me miss, the King, his highness, requests you presence," he said in a tone implying that she didn't really have a choice in the matter.
"Whoah there, big fella hold on," the Doctor said hopping off the crate and standing next to Ally, "I'm afraid you'll have to tell his highness that the Lady is indisposed."
