I've always been partial to tagging systems because it can easily distinguish between private and public role-playing areas.

Raimundo vi Britannia Just askin' for an update on My Idea to make a city outside the School. I was wondering if I could help with that, if it is an Idea that can be passed. It is something I think would be a good thing to do, because your Guild is now an Open, free flowing guild. People join, join the school the first time, then move on to the city after falling in love, and then there are marriages, and work, and basically a life. then they have children, and their children join the school, and it starts again. I think it's an interesting idea. This would be something down the road and the like. I just want everyone to day what they think.

I like it to be honest. it seems like a good idea, but can we actually implement it with little or no confusion? Would anyone else be interested in it would it be frequented? What about drawing attention from other places in the school. I like it but as I'm mentioning there seem to be a few variables and questions we should sort out as well.

yeaa, he just pmed me about it and I wasn't sure...but after reading the description...Acually, I really like it.
That way characters aren't stuck in thier senior year forever. mrgreen

He has to win over 3 VC before I say yes.
I'm just not so sure about having three subforums. Thinking maybe housing and Dorms can go together.
Other than that I agree it would change up the guild and we are well off with guild gold.

I believe I'm ultimately against it.
Talking it over with Rai, he's explained to me that this would take up multiple subforums and they would all take place off the Island. We already have a section for things off the island so I don't see the need for additional space. The number of subforums we already have looks a little cluttered and putting three more would be worse, I feel.
I suggested perhaps creating a whole new guild for this purpose. As it stands, the idea encompasses characters that have grown up and no longer have a solid affiliation with the school. The only contact they'd have would be if they were summoned or if they eventually had children that attended and even then the grown-ups themselves would have limited contact. The guild now is "Reed's School" with a scholastic focus and drive that is working. It's not "Reed's School and a City." Making it a sister guild would also help alleviate some of the strain on the crew. By having a separate set of people worry about outside school things, both groups are free to design and orchestrate their own events without being caught up in each other.
The argument I'm receiving against this is in relation to existing characters wanting to go on - and that's exactly what the sister guild would provide. If your character has graduated, you really should make a new profile anyway that can summarize their time at school and such. This guild is about the growth of student characters and the development of staff. If that's done, then why stay in a guild whose core doesn't support that continuation? Having an entire guild to further your characters in a life beyond school sounds much more appealing that trying to fit your new lifestyle into the existing school atmosphere. If we wanted to move to "Reed's World of Magical Creatures: A Magical Romance RP" as Rai suggested, we'd have to rework the entire guild because it's so school-focused.
Figured I'd bring my side of the argument to the rest of you so I can get other input.

I do have an extra couple of guilds that I'm not using.
So what would everyone think if I took the one of my other guilds and turn it into a city guild for the guild? I don't it's ever been used. I think it revolutionary.

We could always wait and see, I thought we were only going to expand the existing subforum... but this might incorporate my nemesis (Paperwork) might be worth discussing times for meetings so we could bring any ideas or suggestions to the fold and get some response in the deliberations.
