"Anyway, it got some kind of weird mold on it and rotted through. If he'd used it more often, the mold wouldn't have had a chance to stick. That's why I always make sure to talk for at least two hours every day."

The two hours were up for today, he was sure. So she could just stop. His ear flicked in annoyance. Little bug.

"Of course, sometimes I talk even more cuz no one else is talking. You know, lead by example and all that."

Frustration raced through him again. He would not kick the foal, he would not kick the foal, he would not kick the foal. He felt his muscles tensed with the self control it took to NOT kick her teeth down her throat. Wouldn't make any difference, the little brat would just find some other way to talk, he was sure. He would not kick the foal, he would not kick the foal, he would not kick the foal... He tried to focus on why he should not kick the little one, and came up distressingly blank. That... wasn't good? Was it? Bashing her face in was becoming more tempting. He would hate himself later if he killed her, wouldn't he? Then again, it would be justified...

"Oh! That looks like a village!" Blossom pranced ahead a little bit.

What ever there might be out there to thank, he thanked it. Surely he could pawn her off on some one at a village... No, at that point, he should at least try and see if anyone knew her... Ugh. That meant more talking, asking people... His ears flattened back at the idea. He was Not a happy stallion.

"I think this is where we say goodbye," Blossom told him, cheerfully. "Thanks so much for keeping me company!"

Relief filled him. Guilt nagged at him, because she was still separated from her parents. If he didn't get her to them, or to some one else who could help, then what had all this been for? Nothing. All the torture, all the wanting to gnaw his own ears off, for nothing. Pointless. That galled. But the alternative was, what? To continue to accompany her? Not for all the snow in winter. Yes. they were by a town, but how much trouble could she get into between where they were and the town? Could he really leave a foal alone in the woods like this? Even such an annoying one? His ears flattened back and her hated himself very nearly as much as he hated her. He grabbed her tail in his teeth, much like he used to do to stop Lian from bounding off. He began to walk that way. He would drag her to a Soq who could help, and THEN he would leave.

She stumbled when he did that and blinked. "Um... what are you doing?"

He started dragging her along towards the town by her tail. He would find some one to leave her with that could help her, then he could go his own way. He had to admit some pleasure to himself in having caught the little brat off guard.

"Um... okay then," Blossom shifted so that she was side walking awkwardly, so that his pulling on her tail wouldn't be quite so uncomfortable.

Finally, she seemed almost speechless. Almost. Compared to how she had been before, it was a downright relief. He should have grabbed her tail ages ago. If he had known this is what would have happened, he would have. Ah, blessed quiet. And once he found some one to leave her with, even more quiet. Thank the skies.

His reprieve would last a full five minutes before she'd twitch. "You know, you don't have to drag me by the tail. I'm pretty sure I already said that."
