PD, Lithel, Malen and Neph lithle Sunlit day and Lithle was actually in what might almost be called a good mood as a portal deposited her inside the HQ. Why she'd come, even she wasn't sure. Mostly to get out of the house and away from the restless energy of two children. Not that this place was much better, according to past experiance. But maybe there'd only be sticks and smoke, and she could have a little peace. Besides. Free beer. She was in full support of free beer. Quick footsteps to the fridge, with the wand in one hand, wisp snaking its way up and down her arm. The sunlight had felt good, and if she wasn't smiling she wasn't glaring either. Pretty Lil Hate Machine Nephrenia was currently sprawled on the floor in the center of the HQ games room fingers tappiung out rythms on her beautiful wand, the smokey two toned wisp twisting and dancing along with the rythms, It had been a few days since her beautiful wand had wisped and she had been looking foreward to her next meeting with the others since then.
She glanced up as she heard someone enter the HQ not bothering to stand and see who it was, they would come in here eventually. ladyumbra Malen appeared from his bedroom with Kishi in his arms. The two had just woken up from a shared nap and were thirsty. As Malen walked down the hallway and entered the main lobby he grinned at the sight of a familiar face. Though he had only actually seen Lithle for a few moments at their last meeting he recognised the woman . " Hey Lithle, been a while, how goes it ?" he inquired while Kishi yawened and rubbed the sleep from her eyes. lithle Lithle recognized the man and infant as well, though she didn't know either of their names. The faces stayed with her, along with a vague imprint of personality, along the lines of 'currently not a threat'. Other than that, the details were unimportant. "'m fine. You?" See, she could be polite. Beer in hand, she moved without visible purpose, the wandering allowing her a greater survey of the room, in case other people might be somewhere. As there was, a chick with a wand. Well, at least that only made one possible screaming child. Pretty Lil Hate Machine Neph glances up as the woman entered the room, she had seen her before somewhere... but then she tended to run into people randomly so it didn't really matter. and behind the woman was... Malen and Kishi! She hopped up and walked over to the trio.
"Hey Malen, Kishi... and I'm afraid I don't know your name." Neph was smiling and twining her fingers into the mesh of her shirt. ladyumbra "Not bad busy, Kay grew so still a bit odd and parental" Malen said smiling fondly at the thought. Just as he finished speaking Malen spotted Neph. " Hey there Nephy girl, hows all the chidluns? " Neph had a small menegerie living in her place and she usually had an interesting story to tell about one of them or another. Kishi grinned, she knewthis lady, this lady brought the purple boy that she really liked. Cooing softly she reached out for Nephy determination shining in her grey eyes. lithle "Lithle." The red headed woman offered, and the chilly tone said that the woman wouldn't be getting much more information beyond that. When Malen began to speak to the chick, Lithle relaxed slightly. Better that they talk about old times or whatever than that they try and talk to her. She was more than happy to sit on the outside and drink her beer. And when she was done, maybe she'd have enough energy to go home and face the brats. Pretty Lil Hate Machine Neph ignored the womans frosty tone and grinned, "My name's Neph, I think I've seen you somewhere, maybe." She shrugged and turned her attention to Malen and Kishi.
"Ohhh the little succubus girl has grown!"
She reached her arms out to collect the little girl, "Trinket misses you little one." She looked up at Malen, "Ohh the kids are going to make me turn grey early, Samsara's gone, as are Trinket and Dare, Tybalt is trying his best to make up for their absence though, he decided to paint the kitchen last night. If I never see another duck again I will be happy." A grin painted her lips showing that though she may complain she loved every moment. ladyumbra Malen burst out into laughter " Ducks he seriously painted ducks all over the kitchen. Did he atleast keep a colour schme or were there just many coloured ducks making you nauseus as you tried to cook? An what about kilvian, Brekke Soren and that little Tahnee thingy Umbra's got?" Malen prayed that none of his and Ianna's children ever decided to try and redecorate on thier own becuase he seriously feared the things he thought they'd choose. Kishi smiled at Nephy and babbled incoherently at the sound of Trinket's name. The lady had mentioned the purple boy, but where was he? lithle And she thought she had a lot of kids. If Lithle was the pitying sort, she would have almost felt bad for the upbeat woman... Neph. Her own reaction to finding the kitchen painted anything would have been... well actually she probably wouldn't give a damn, but all the same. Taylor's wisp moved up to the tip of the wand again, and she let her fingers touch it gently, an absent expression of something like affection. She didn't mind the little puff of smoke, though she imagined she'd be less happy when it took an infants form. Pretty Lil Hate Machine "Oh the rest of the kids are just fine, they seem to be enjoying the anticipation of having another sibling. I'm actually looking foreward to it too. Oh and it wasn't just ducks on the walls. He painted ducks on every paintable surface, multicolored ducks, some smoking some with guns... he is an odd kid thats for certain." She chuckled remembering her response when she had walked into the kitchen that morning. Ah, but what of you and Del? And Kay and Ianna, you two seem very close, how long til you pop the question?"
She grinned again and tickled kishi "Trinket told me to give you his number if you ever want a babysitter so you and Ianna can have some 'private time'"
She glanced back over to the quiet woman "Your wand is beautiful." ladyumbra Malen just shook his head " Uhuh, I am so glad my kids are normal. Del is fine she's spends a lot of time writing now and working on improving her echolocation but she still loves playing with her sisters. Kay's fien and sweet and Ianna" he grinned stupidly" well Ianna is amazing and as for popping the question.. that's none of yoru business." he teased." Ababysitter is good though unless he can take them all it's somewhat pointless. Kishi giggled and reached For nephy's wand. lithle Lithle allowed the chick and the guy to babble on, her own attention roaming, though she never allowed them to completely leave her range of vision. She wasn't that trusting, certainly. It was all so adorably domestic and Lithle was starting to wonder if there was anywhere she could go to avoid the sufficating family feeling that everyone seemed to project these days. "Huh? The stick?" The question aimed her way brought her attention back to the chick. "Yeah. Pity I can't sell it." And now her beer was empty, which was a good sign that she should be headed home. At least there, things weren't quite so... sweet. Pretty Lil Hate Machine Neph glanced at the other woman, "Sell it? Why would you want to?" She was so confused as to why someone would want to rid themselves of a child in such a manner.
Shaking the feeling off she looked down at kishi "Promise to be careful with it, she's fragile okay?" Not waiting for a response she set the wand carefully in the childs hands.
"Aww come on Malen. You know any kid of mine can handle a horde. And why is it none of my business, you know Tal will tell me anyways." ladyumbra Malen also wonderd why anyone would want to give up their child but kept his mouth shut. It was not his place to judge. So he turned to respond to Neph " True but I dunno we'll see what happens and it's none of your business becuase I say so and even Talon dosen't know when yet so you're out of luck. Kishi grasped the every burning wand carefully and let it's dancing lights reflect in her eyes." Eee" lithle "It'd save me a whole hell of a lot of trouble." Lithle stated, in the same bland tone she said everything. "Don't stress about it. Stick hasn't left my sight yet. Not gonna kill the thing." And that was more than enough 'fun' for one day. She'd rather spend time with the kids than deal with such confused and somewhat accusing looks. It was time to get out. Tossing the beer can into the nearest trash, she didn't bother to so much as wave. Just turned her back on the pair, and left. Quote: Neph stood there shaking her head as the woman left before turning her eyes back to malen and kishi.
"WEll I should be gettign home, the kids need someone to cook them dinner, and I'd hate to have to nurse them back from foodpoisoning again if umbra cooked, so I guess I'll see you around then. Remember to call me if you ever need a babysitter for this little angel."
She gently took the wand from the little girls grasp kissing her on the forehead, "Bye bye little one." Quote: After watching Lithel leave Malen took Kishi back from Neph and nodded." Um yeah I remember her cooking, go save the children and your appliances and i'm sure i'll call for a babysitter eventualy." Malen knew he'd call Neph long before then simply to chat so he wasn't to disheartened about their meeting being cut short. Back in her father's arms Kishi waved at the leaving lady, next time she saw her Kishi hoped that she'd bring the purple boy. Quote: Neph left through the portal hurrying home before she'd have to actually worry about the kids eating any of Umbra's cooking.

Kiarna 'Things with Wings'
RP with Malen and Kishi (ladyumbra) "Kishi stay away from the roses you'll tear your clothes on the thorns" Malen called out futilely to his daughter. He lay in a hammock in the shade of the trees while watching Kishi roam around the gardens. Ever since she'd grown Kishi been unstoppable, motoring around exploring everything until her legs became to weak to carry her. Now as Malen looked on helplessly she was takign in the great outdoors, minus the fountain which she wasn't allowed near without him, Ianna or Del. Kishi ignored her fathers words as she followed a butterfly that was making it's way around the gardens. It's bright orange and black colours had caught her eyes and though she'd been warned not to touch it, that didn't mean she couldn't follow it. Thus holding her wand with both hands she trailed after it even venturing towards the roses, she didn't really care if her clothes got torn. Kierla blinked as she entered the garden. Oh, there was someone here. Why was it that she never was able to be here alone?
Although...conversation did make things interesting.
Sort of.
Um. "Hello!" She nudged the ghost floating around her with a foot. "Say hello, too, Aricia," she whispered.
The ghost bade as it was told, and waved the 'hand' carrying the wand back and forth at the other two.
Curiosity got better of her, though, and despite Kierla's calls to stay put, she drifted toward the succubus child and the butterfly. Why were they running away?"Upon receiving the greeting Malen sat up and waved back " Hello there, been a while hasn't it." It had been quite some time since Malen had seen Kierla, if he remebered correctly they'd last actually talked during the Stray incident and he recalled having seen her at the Easter party. He knew her ghost was of a pegasus and that was about all he could remember having discussed. At the sound of other voices Kishi let her attention switch first to the speaker who received a beaming grin and then to the pink babyghost." Hi."She said softly admiring the other's wand it had wings just like hers did and she had wings too, to Kishi wings and purple were a sign of good. "Yes, I suppose so." To be quite honest, Kierla couldn't exactly remember his name still (did it start with an 'N' or an 'M'?)...but she'd figure it out soon enough, hopefully. "I see your succubus wand has become a child, now. Congratulations." At least she could remember that much.
This time, in response to the greeting, Aricia waved both of her hands back, then let out a stream of baby gurgles that only Kierla could hear. She pointed the wand at the retreating butterfly, as if to ask what it was." Thanks yeah Kishi's a toddler now, which means she's mostly stopped licking everything she comes into contact with but she's still grabby and now she can get into everything." He laughed softly "Going to have to enroll her in daycare soon so she can socialise with the rest of the gaian population and not just her own kind, " he grinned" I'll have to use Ianna's last name for her though since I can't give mine and calling her Kishi Malen's child would sound strange." He was babbling a bit but he was still too hyped from the recent changes in the both Kay and Kishi's ages to settle down ,except around lithle that woman had a sobering affect on him, but that was another topic. Kishi's eyes followed the path of the wand and she smiled " Butterfly, no touch" she explained " touch and die." She continued sounding sad, why did butterflies have to die if you touched them it wasn't fair. Kierla blinked. "They...lick eveything in contact? ...is this...normal, for babies?" What strange creatures, these tiny things were! "Why can't you give your last name?"
Waa! Really, touch and die? Aricia's face turned in the direction of the orange blur, looking on with obvious wonder. She began to float after it, curious and eager to know why a touch would make them die.
Although she didn't hear the somewhat conversation between the two children, Kierla immediately called out, "Don't touch it, Aricia, you might hurt it." She turned back to the man. "Your daughter is very cute! She'll be a heartthrob when she grows up."Malen nodded " Children tend to put everythign in thier mouths, as babies people use all thier senses equally to explore things including taste." He remebered now that Kierla has admitted to not knowing much about children, still to have gotten this far far with her ghost meant she was on the right track. " I can't give my last name becuase I've made too many enemies in my job to put my family at risk by using my last name anymore." It was a an unfortunate side affect of his work but he'd learned to live with it and considering that he'd still been tracked down without a last name by the D-corp people he knew it was the right choice. Kishi smiled and followed the baby ghost, while her new friend couldn't talk they could still play, she wondered if the other girl would play with her like Zah did when they were done chasing the butterfly. Malen gave a soft sigh at the compliment directed towards his daughter " Your girl is equally cute and I'm sure once she emerges the others will flock to her." He had do doubt that the pegasus girl would have a sort of soft classic beauty like Kay." As for Kishi she can grow to be a hearthrob as long as she learns to control her powers." "Really, now. That must be irksome." It was unclear whether Kierla was referring to the first or the second comment. "What about your first name? Is it a mere alibi?" Hee, she was so smart. Now she could figure out what the man's name was. >D
"Oh yes, she's a succubus reborn, isn't she? No wonder." Kierla turned her eyes again on her ward: "And Aricia, say thank you to him for the compliment!"
The ghost ignored (or did she not hear?) her mother, and continued to chase after the butterfly. This was fun!
...Waaa, where'd the butterfly go? She stopped, unaware that Kishi was behind her." Malen is indeed my real name it's not common but it's not so uncommon that I can be traced through it." he said stretching." don't worry about thankyous for compliments at this stage kids get used to hearing nice things about them all the time. There's a study of some sort that states babies are made to look cute and helpless so we're more inclined to care for them." Personally Malen loved kids to much to care what they looked like or why. Having built up some momentum Kishi was unable to stop suddenly and went face first into the fluffy back of her friend, not wanting to breathe her in she stumbled backward " Sorry." She hoped she hadn't hurt the other girl. Ah. That was his name. "Well, that's good, then, Malen," Kierla said. "Although I must admit, I've never heard anyone other than you with that name. What is its origin, do you know?"
She glanced after the kids, and smiled a little. "Yes, I've heard about that. Revokes maternal and paternal instincts, supposedly. It might also be why animals sometimes agree to nurse a baby of another species," she hazarded, hoping she wasn't sounding like she was babbling.
Eeeee~ squeaked the ghost in Kierla's head, as it felt something hit its back - then tumbled straight into a bush. It soon resurfaced, however, looking slightly confused.
Kierla winced at the sudden squeak, and her hands to cover her ears.Malen shrugged " According to my Mothers they just made it up, I have no clue which category it would fall under but those I have met it with it comes from places with latin based languages so I'm assuming there's a name similar to it in latin." He nodded as kierla spoke glad they seemed to have put their slightly rocky past behind them. She was pretty nice young woman and he was glad to have some company both for himself and Kishi. Kishi simply watched the pink and white babyghost trying to figure out what to do with her next. She didn't want to risk hurting her again but she wanted to play. Malen gave Kierla a pitying look " I know just you you feel," he remembered kishi as a babyghost and the endless streams of babble that came from her that only he could hear. "That's nice. Kiarna made up my name, too, when she found me. Her name is made up too." Kierla even tried a sort of weak laugh, reminding herself that this sociable-attitude-torture was all for the good of Aricia. "Our family is very big on made up names."
"So, the weird noises are...normal, too?" Kierla still had a lot to learn on motherhood, nevermind motherhood of a Ghost of the Past.
After staying still and digesting what happened for a few seconds, Aricia drifted back out of the bush, ready to play again. What game were they going to play next? She circled around Kishi." Made up names are good and original, though Kishi's is native american for night." He had wanted something that showed the other half of her ancestry, this reminded him that he needed to take her shopping for dreamcatcher supplies soon. " Yes as baby ghosts they speak well in baby talk anyways in your head so only you can hear them, it's frustrating at times but it helps you bond with them." Malen missed being connected to Kishi that way, he'd always known how she'd felt and had usually been able to guess what she was telling him. she spokereal words now but it wasn't the same. Glad that her friend seemd ok again Kishi slowly swung her wand at the baby ghost. She was far enough away that even if the other couldnt block only the tip would poke her slightly. Since the other had a smaller wand though it'd be harder to defend but she'd have better control. "That's true...although, I know my sister Kiarna was often teased by kids when she was young, for having that name. So, like everything else, they have their pros and their cons.
"Aricia is Greek, something to do with a princess and Athens. I thought it'd be nice for a pegasus child to have a Greek name. Why did you decide to name Kishi a Native American name?" Why was she talking so much?
Unsure of what to do in the game, Aricia tried to grab the wand from Kishi." Yeah cultural reinforcement is nice" Malen said nodding " Kishi is half succubus and half navajho, since I don't speak any sort of demonic language I figured using a native american one would be best." Kishi stared at the pink one in surprise, that was an odd but effective tactic, Kishi couln't move her wand without risking hurting the other ." Tie, we both win" she said nodding and smiling. Tieing was fun it meant nobody felt bad later. "That's smart. I wonder what a demon's language would sound like," Kierla pondered. "What do you think?"
Eh?! She won? How cool!
Winiwiniwiniwin~
She really liked this game." Well some of them are telepathic and some are hisses and I know of one who's name I've forgtten that is done purely by smell, so not all are ones we can hear .From what my friend Talon tells me though depending on the species your working with most demonic languges to us sound harsh like german or russian." Malen wondered if he should try and find out what language a succubus would naturally speak. Kishi smiled and removed her wand from the others grasp before trying and straight foreward jab while flaring her wings, perhpas she could startle her friend itno not catching her wand this time. "What kind of language do they speak in when using telepathy?" Kierla asked. He seemed to know a lot about the subject. "Do they use pictures or symbols to get the idea across?"
Aricia let out another eek~! at the sudden attack, and ducked quickly, holding her wand in front of her like a shield." I have no clue to be honest it's probably based on emotions or something since they'd be able to sense lies." Since few of Malen's bounties were demonic he didn't really have to learn much about them, he just picked up the odd bit of information from Talon. Kishi smiled, the other had gotten the hang of playing very quickly,Kishi pressed down with her wand tryign to force the pink oneto the ground and surrender. "How interesting. Do you know if there are any books on the subject in the library or in another place accessible to the public?" Kierla inquired. Well, she had researched the Pegasus, might as well look up her friends.
Aricia felt trapped. With some effort, she shifted the wand so it was horizontal and above her, then shoved up in hope of unbalancing the other, or at least get some air." The library probably has atleast a few of them, I'm sure Ianna has it stocked for pretty much everything." Malen figured that since pretty much any species could be a ghost of the past Ianna would hace been smart enough to have books on every species she could find." If there isn't anything there I can always ask Talon if you can borrow some of her stuff, she's got books and relics for everything since she's inthe business of finding and selling rare objects." Kishi was started by the strength of the other and stepped backwards raising her wand, while she could have tried harder she didn't want to lose her friend " You win" she said lowering her wand so it rested at her side. "I'll be sure to check there later, then." Kierla had totally forgotten the HQ had a library. And to think she could have saved herself all that trouble with that grumpy librarian about the pegasus books...
Gleefully, Aricia stepped back. Winiwiniwiniwiiiiiiin~!
But...she did feel sort of bad, that Kishi had lost.
Ah. WHO CARES! It was Kishi's fault that she lost. WINIWINIWINIWINIWIIIIIIN~!
Kierla's hands slowly raised to cover her ears, but of course it didn't really help considering it was all in her head. "I wish I could make her shut up," she said rather bluntly. Her voice was slightly louder than usual - like she was trying to talk over the yelling.Malen gave her a sympathetic look " Well since the chances of kishi not interactign her her are slim and that's probably what she's responding too you're welcome to retreat to the library, we won't follow you and you can get started on your research." Porr woman he thought, hopefully she'll have a baby soon and things will get easier for her. Kishi spotted the long forgotten buttergly and grinned even through the other floated she bet she could reahc the butterfly first " Race" she challanged the other. Kierla bowed: "I'll take you up on your offer, then, thank you. I actually really should be going anyways, I'm supposed to meet my sister for a late lunch. Please excuse us, and thank you for the lovely talk."
She still had her hands over her ears as she called sharply to Aricia, "Come on, let's go now."
Her yelling stopped, but was replaced by a sad whining. Aricia cast an apologetic look at her new friend, and waved good-bye to her before drifting off after her guardian.//end <3

" No" Kishi crossed her arms and stomped a tiny foot against the ground. No no no".
Del sighed and mock glared at her sister " Kishi you have to wear the swimtrainer it's not safe otherwise and father said you're not allowed in the foutain without it. While the dolphin girl had never used such things herself she's been born to swim and so it wasn't a problem. Swimming however did not come naturally to succubi and so precautions had to be taken. It wasn't like the swim trainer was as bulky as an old fashioned life jacket either, Kishi was just being stubborn.
Kishi frowned but relented allowing Del to outfit her in the flotation device. Her wings were tucked to her back to prevent drag. They were stronger than they had been but could still be injured by strong resistance so it was easier to teach her to swim without them at the moment. After a moment Del stapped back and winked at Kishi " You look cute."
Hopping over the wall Del landed in the fountain relishing the feel of the cool water on her dehydreated skin. Leaning over she picked up Kishi and plopped her down beside her. Immediatly Kishi's grey eyes wideded " Noo cold cold cold no' he yelled thrashing. Del stepped away from here watching as the water around her sister churned and frothed. It wasn't that cold and in minute or so Kishi would adjust to it and be fine.
Just a she predicted a minute later Kishi bobbed serenely in the water staring at sme lilypads."See it's not so bad is it" Del murmured smiling " Today we're just going to tread water and use your rms to part the water infront of you and sweep it to the side." Del had a series of lesson plans for Kishi, starting with this then dogpaddling as easy introductions to swimming styles. From there she'd move onto the the different strokes and then underwater swimming If kishi was ready, though she doubted the toddler would be able to handle that untill she grew again.
Dear diary: I gave Kishi her first lessons today it was great. She was hesitant at first but caught the hang of it pretty fast. She seems to like swimming but she wasn't all that upset when the lesson was over. I think I did a pretty good job as a teacher for my first day. My eyes were always on her and I never yelled once. It was nice swimming with someone else, maybe I should see of Kay will swim with me sometime

PD Faeyas [. razz rivate RP #3:..: Baby:.] Library- Umbra, Pukio and Faeyas Faeyas Ari brough in the lively Artemis in her arms, "Mommy needs to look uip somthing, would you like a book Art?"
"Bah looo..." Artemis Giggled. Ari smiled as she went to the childrens books, and pulled out a small stiff paged book with little puppies inside. she, for a moment, sat Artemis in her carrier. She laid out Artemis's blanket on the ground and Lupus and put the book on top before placing Artemis on the blanket.
"I will be really quick, don't go anywhere ok sweetie?" And Ari went to the near by shelf to start looking for the book she needed.
Her work had allowed her to do some of her work while at home until Artemis could be baby sat. This work required her to look up something and without a computer, the cold Library of Head Quarters was her best bet. Pukio Tovar didn't usually have much use for libraries -- the ones beyond the large room stuffed with books in Michael's house, anyway. However, seeing as the older sorcerer had currently comandeered (and locked) their personal library, he found himself resorting to different methods.
And as much as he would have preffered the public library, Tovar wouldn't have even known where to start somewhere that big; at least here, in a semi-private library of the shop's headquarters, he had a little less space and fewer books (though, the number was still impressive) to shift through.
Even so, he wasn't really looking forward to it. Not for the first time, Tovar quietly wished Michael kept a computer - or technology of any sort, really. Then again, Michael always said books and first hand accounts were the only things to be trusted when doing research.
Sighing, cooped up in a corner of the library, Tovar pulled a heavily bound book of the shelf. Stuffed in the back pocket of his jeans, the wand made a faint dark spot where the condensation of river water seeped slowly into the thick denim. ladyumbra "A Book for Zah a book for Zah purple Zah a book for zah'" Kishi sang as she followed after her father. They'd just returned home after a shopping trip whe're she'd bought her flowerkitten a new collar and her some colouring books. Now they were going to the library to find a book for Zah her favorite friend. " A book about Zah, well his kind anyways" Malen corrected. He'd promised to babysit the young drow for Neveah that weekened and he wanted to be prepared. He was postive the butterfly woman had foudn books on drow in the library before so that was the best place to look other than bothering Talon and last he'd heard from her the woman was up to ears in sick kids. Upon entering the library he spotted a young woman and baby he'd never met before " Well hello there" he said softly so as not to startle them. Faeyas Ari jerked her head up, her attention pulled from her books, to look at the man and the toddle at his side. The girl seemed preoccupied with a melody in her head, but the man had addressed her. "Hello." She smiled, setting down the book in her hands in such a way to keep her page as she extended her hand for the greeting. "I'm Ariel." she smiled at the baby girl who found slamming the book down on her blanket while giggling far more entertaining then just looking at it, "This is Artemis." She finished the introduction. Pukio Tovar shifted where he stood, pausing a moment to quirk his head slightly to one side and listen hard and the buzz of the air conditioning unit somewhere over head. He could have sworn--
Ah, yes; voices. He must have been here longer than he'd thought, he could have sworn the headquarters' library had been empty when he'd first found his way there. Tucking the current book in his hands absently under one arm, the chesnut haired young man carefully inched his way to the end of the bookshelves and toward the voices, peering curiously around the corner toward the other inhabitants of the library.
"Must be other guardians," he murmured absently, unconsciously tinkering with the dog-eared pages of the book under his arm. Faeyas The attention of the man appeared to have wandered off, so Ari shurgged and went back to shifting through her book to find what she had come to look for. She winces as a repetitive tapping sound came from what she would guess was one playing with the cover of a book with real pages.
This left Artemis out completly.
Ari hated when she didn't know if someone was around so she called out, "Is anyone else here?" Pukio Tovar started at the sudden outburst, nearly dropping the book out from under his arm. Quickly taking a firmer grip on the volume, the young man edged out into the open and offered the group a faint smile.
"Ah, yes. I'm here." And he could only assume he was included in the broad range of 'anyone.' "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to...ease drop or anything." It was just a little difficult to not. As many books as there were in the room, the voices hadn't been completely absorbed in the pages and the hard shelves they were stacked on.
Ah well; it wasn't as if he didn't have a valid excuse to be there. Faeyas "Of course," Ari smiled at new comer, "No, I was merely cautious of another presence." Ari couldn't help but blush. She was a very paranoid person when it came to a room she was in, especially one that she had no control over.
Artemis had crawled over to Ari and was hitting her hands on Ari's lap. This meant she wanted to be picked up, and paid attention to. Ari lifted up the baby girl and looked back at the man who had appeared, "This is Artemis," She smiled, presenting her charge. "Who are you?" she asked curious. ladyumbra Malen who'd been momentarily sidetracked by trying to ignore a sudden muscle spasm had completely missed what had been going on around him the last few minutes. He'd simply stood off to the side concentrating on willing the pain away and trying not to look in too much pain in front of Kishi for fear of worrying her. Now able to pay attention he smiled from his potion on the wall " Artemis hmm? I'll have to tell Kierla there's another wand child running about with a greek mythology thing going on." Kishi walked over Ari streched to her tip toes to get closer to artimis " Hi ." The other child seemed interesting enough despite lacking wings or anything purpel that she could see. Pukio "I'm Tovar," he answered smoothly, shrugging slightly with one shoulder. He was getting alot better at introducing himself to complete strangers on a random basis - meeting people seemed to happen quite a bit once you had children from these...association things. He paused a moment, and then continued with the explination, in case simply his name wasn't what the woman had been interested in.
"I'm a guardian. Another one, apparently - I didn't know there were so many of these..." He hesitated. "Wands." It might be offensive to the other two to pander slightly with the word. Besides, he couldn't be sure all the wands looked like a lump of driftwood. Faeyas Ari smiled to the both of them, "Its very nice to meet both of you." She loved meeting new guardians, despite her need to find this book she figured she could waste a moment. "So what brings you both to the Library beyond the obvious?" While Ari was making small chat with the adults, Artemis decided the new girl was cute and fun.
Upon the little girl with wings greeting Artemis immediatly wiggled to get over to her. Ari put the wiggling Artemis down on the ground where she proceeded to crawl twords the girl with wings. Artemis lifted one hand, delicatly balancing on three limbs she shook her hand around in the attempt of a wave as she made babbling noise, "Gyah pfft bya!" Artemis finished with a giggle. Pukio Tovar frowned slightly, trying to think of a remotely intelligent way to answer the question. He hadn't been aware there was any reason but the obvious to come to a library...
"Looking for...a book on Kelpies," he explained absently. That probably wasn't what she wanted to know, but he honestly couldn't think of any other answer to offer. Ah well - it was the truth, at least. ladyumbra " It's a pleasure to meet you to and I'm just prepping for some babysitting I'm going to do." Malen stated watchign Kishi with amusment, it pleased him that she was capable of beign gentle when playign with others. Kishi smiled at Artemis amused by the greeting "you're cute I like you" she said with a firm nod of her head. Kneeling to lessen the height difference kishi placed her wand on the floor beside her and waited for Artemis to make another move, she looked very gentle not the type to play hard like zah or the funny pink wisp so she wasn't sure what do do with her. Faeyas "I'm here looking for a book for work." Ari explained, feeling it only natural to explain her own presence. "It’s nice to meet both of you." She smiled up at the two from her position on the ground.
Artemis decided to crawl closer to the girl with wings, putting her hand down she wiggled and crawled her way over to the girl, and then lifted herself up to pat the girl's knees with her hands. Artemis continued to babble and giggle at the interesting looking female who she found nice. Pukio Tovar nodded in agreement, offering the both of them a swift grin that trickled down to the younger children before his features slipped back into a friendly, but relatively passive expression. After a moment or so of hesitation, he cleared his throat and inched a little closer to the cluster of children and their guardians.
"If you don't me me asking...-- are those your children? From here, I mean. Er." Great; he was being oh so eloquent. Way to make an impression, Tovar. "I mean, the ones from the wands? I'm a bit...Frankly, the only child I have came as a kid, not from an object."
One would think Tovar, being a magic worker and an apprentice, would be used to this sort of 'souls in inatimate objects' sort of thing, and maybe he was; he just wasn't quite so used to them being children. Once dead children. That would be coming out again, perfectly alive. ladyumbra "It is a pleasure to meet both of you" Malen said " and yes Kishi is a ghost of the past" He motion'd with his head towards her wand " They grow in size as the children do so be prepared for a child running about smackign you with it if you end up with a hyper one." Malen considerd himself fortunate in the fact that despite Kishi's tendency to use her wand as a weapon he'd never been struck by it. Kishi placed her hands over the other girls and was amazing at the size differnce. It was hard for her to imagine being that small not too long ago.Flapping her wings gently she created the tiniest of winds to blow at Artemis. Faeyas "Really? They grow? Interesting..." Ari looked at the small hand held wand that was Artemis's. She couldn't imagine it bigger, but she supposed as it was linked to Artemis that it too must grow. "Oh, sorry..." she smiled at the man who had asked about Artemis's origin, "Yes she is from here, I got her as a baby though, so I can't say I know much about the wand stages in her life."
Artemis had stopped patting the girl’s legs, as her arms were being held down and a nice soft breeze was coming from the wings. Artemis giggled, liking the feeling of moving air on her face; she chirped in glee and continues to giggle. She shut her eyes, mind of as a reflex for keeping them most, but also because it felt right. Artemis liked this girl. Pukio Nodding thoughtfully, Tovar studied the two children thoughtfully. The wand...grew? From what little he'd read on Kelpies, Tovar wasn't sure how keen he was to having a small kelpie boy running around with a weapon other than whatever abilities the child was born with. The thought was...a little frightening. As it was, Tovar was already planning to put some sort of caution tape on the perimeter of the small brook on Michael's property. --Or something like that.
He found himself chewing the inside of his cheek and forced himself to stop.
Suffice to say, this child was probably going to be a way bigger handful than little Etain. Unicorns and Kelpies were two completely different, er, horses. ladyumbra Malen eyed Ari, she'd missed out on the wand stages of Artemis's life, how unfortunate, as far as Malen was concerned the wand stages especially the wisp and baby host stages where the time when parent and child truly bonded the most." It's a pity you didn't get to enjoy her before she became a baby, though I'm sure you will make the most of what is to come." Malen had no words for Tovar, the man seemed quiet like Lithle. Kishi smiled down at the baby on her and began to hum a lullabye that she liked her father to sing to her. While the words were in another language and she didn't understand it to sing it the melody was soothing and pleasent. Faeyas Ari smiled up at Malen, "I don't mind, Artemis and I are getting along fine. She looked down to the book in her hands and let a small laugh escape, "Imagine that," She held up the book, "This is what I was looking for."
Artemis began to grow sleepy, music always had a nice effect on her, and she seemed to love it a great deal. Even the most simplest of lullaby's seemed to lure her to sleep. she cooed a yawn and laid her head on Kishi's lap. Kishi was nice. Pukio Consciously, Tovar's fingers drifting to the wand in his back pocket. For some reason, given Malen's words, he felt like perhaps he should be paying more attention to the slightly damp...stick. Oh, he had it in his pockjet but he didn't really chat with it or anything. A slight frown tilting at the corners of his mouth, Tovar pulled his fingers away from the wand and began turning the book that had been under his arm over in his hands. Come to think of it, this book seemed to be the one he'd needed too...
"Huh, imagine tha--"
A sudden crackling noise punctured Tovar's words, and he quickly put the book aside, pulling the necklace tucked into his shirt out into the open. A small drop-shaped pendant hung on the cord and hissed at him. "Tovar, your damn kid is being obnoxi--Hey, don't do that!" the crystal spat and fizzed, sounding only remotely like the man on the other side, using it to communicate.
Tovar pursed his lips for a moment, frowning darkly. "Alright, I'll come home then." Grimacing, he stuffed the pendant back down the front of his shirt and glanced apologetically between Ari and Malen. "I'm sorry, I think...the house is going to hell in a hand basket; I should probably be going." ladyumbra Malen laughed and nodded to Tovar " By all means to save your house and comrade from child induced danger." Malen knew he'd end up having other chances to meet this strange guardian so it was no loss that their meeting had been cut short. Turning his attention to Ari he grinned " Congrats hoepfully it will be of help to you or at least an interesting read." Kishi looked down at artemis and grinned, she'd tamed the other girl much like her kitten tamed her.She wondered of Artemis would visit a lot when she got bigger so they could really play, however for now she was content to hum and let the other girl rest on her. Faeyas "Hope to see you again, and if you need this book here is my number, I'll have it for a couple of nights." Ari handed him a card and gave a wave to Tovar as her prepeared to leave to save his house from chaos. She then turned to Malen, "Interesting indeed, there is some data in here I need to translate for a local consulate." She flipped through the pages, still wondering why this data needed to be translated. Ari looked over at Artemis, "Appears Kishi and Artemis are getting along quite well," she smiled. Artemis seemed to be getting along well with her, which was definitely a good thing. Pukio Taking both the card and their dismissals with a thankful smile, Tovar offered them a last "Very pleased to meet you; hope to see you again," before adjusting the book under his arm more comfortably and taking his leave of the library.
People to go, places to see; houses to save from imminent destruction, and research to be done. ladyumbra Malen nodded " So far Kishi hasn't met any ghosts of the past she doesn't like which is odd but nice." Malen didn't look foreward to finding out which children she would eventually end up disliking, in a semi close community like the one the guardians would likely form their children's friend preferences could end up affecting the adults in several ways. Faeyas "Artemis has liked the one's she's met I believe, except for this one baby ghost which made her cry." Ari thought about Artemis and her other encounters with the other ghostly children. "She is either very serene or is just really upset normally so its often really hard to tell. I think she might just be curious..."
Artemis wiggled out of the drowsy state, and began to giggle again as she reached up twords the winged girl. ladyumbra "I'm going to go with really serene , she seems like a rather peaceful baby. In my experince I've come to belive that up until about age seven babies and children are obsessively interested in other moving objects, then they enter school and the they have to start adhering to socitiess rules. Girls and boys socialise seperatly and begin to mold themsleves into there gender sterotypes." Malen shook his head slight, he found the notion very disturbing. Kishi reached out and gently poked the awakening girls nose. There was no reason for it other than to see what would happen. Faeyas Artemis looked up at the girl who had poked her. She didn’t like being poked. But the idea remained in her mind just a moment before she realized the girl had such HUGE HANDS! Artemis had to grab one, and grab one she did, before she started to bang it up and down on the girls knee giggling.
Ari chuckled at the image, “Artemis and gender stereotypes? Maybe…But she already seems more boyish then what I would imagine a girl would be like…” She too hated gender labels, but for the most part preferred to show such dislike rather than simply saying it. She lifted the book in her hands, She did work abroad, a high paid translator, no one could claim she was a typical woman, let alone mom. ladyumbra Kishi allowed her hand to be moved by the baby beside her, it didn't hurt and it made a nice almost clap like sound. She too giggled " you are very fun" She stated firmly. Malen eyed the book and then the playing children " Do you need to go? " he figured she like many had breifly stopped by to grab something and be on their way. So few guardians seemd to have time to stick around and chat these days. Faeyas Ari sighed, “I do, I need to start translating this right away…” She looked over at the two girls, “I but I would hate to interrupt their fun…”
Artemis enjoyed the compliment from the girl with wings, she was nice. She halted hitting the girls hand on her lap in order to use it to pull herself up. Artemis sometimes acted like a cat in how much she enjoyed climbing onto things. Ari couldn’t complain, it was after all building the babe’s muscles. ladyumbra Malen smiled " It's ok I'm sure they'll meet again soon and maybe all this play will have tired Kishi out enough to nap." Kishi looked at her friend confused but didn't try to stop her. She wasn't used to being climbed on by others but she remebered climbing on others when she was little so it was only fair she not fight it. Faeyas Artemis managed to make to Kishi's lap there, keeping with being a cat, Artemis simply fell asleep. Daytime wasn't really her energetic time and Artemis tended to grow sleepy easily during it.
"It appears Artemis is already tired." Ari chuckled and put the book in her sack before going over to Kishi to pick up the sleeping baby. "Gomen, but I don't think you want her nap on you," Ari smiled, "thank you for playing with her." Ari looked over at the man she had been talking to. "I think Artemis would enjoy seeing her again, so hopefully that time comes soon." She tucked Artemis into her carrier and bowed to the both of them, "I was lovely to meet you both." ladyumbra Kishi grinned and waved " Bye an, come back soon." She had enjoyed playing with the other even if she had been a sleepy other. Malen nodded " It was a pleasure meeting you, I hope to see you again in the near future." Faeyas Ari smiled and taking one hand off the carrier, she waved. She quickly replaced the hand as Artemis wasn’t unbreakable, and walked from the library back to her room. It was a fair walk and the evening was cool. Ari enjoyed meeting new people, and the headquarters seemed just the place to do so.
Artemis slept until the moon rose, but that was another story.

" So the dreamcatcher catches all the good thoughts and dreams while the bad ones slip through the center." Malen explained looking up from his book to see Kishi struggling with her dreamcatcher. He'd decided that now was the best time to start introducing Kishi to her heritage, since reliable information on succubi was rare he'd decided to work with the Navajo in her. Since Malen believed that to understand your heritage you had to participate in it Malen had purchased the things needed to make a dreamcatcher and explained to Kishi how to put it togeather. It was turning out much like one would expect a small child with limited dexterites project to but that was alright since Kishi showed no signs of giving up or being bothered.. Kishi pointed to the feather she had yet to attach " Why we have a feather? " The small grey and black feather was soft and pretty but she wanted to know why it was supposed to be on there. Her father had already explained that the amber beads were spiders that weaved the sacred web. Kishi shivered at the thought of spiders sleeping over her head. Malen smiled and skimmed the informationn the book " The feather takes all the good thoughts and dreams and points them at you that's why we'll put the dreamcatcher directly over where you sleep." Kishi grinned and blew at the feather watching as it lid across the table. It had only been a few days since she'd seen her father extremely mad at someone and it was nice to see him happy and friendly again. Kishi hadn't been afraid of her father but she'd certainly been upset to see him so unhappy. A half hour later found the pair hanging the finished dreamcatcher in Kishi's room. After several tries Kishi had broken down and asked her father for help to make the dreamcatcher look proper. So working togeather they had strung the beads then a taken the straps and placed tham around the frame. Kishi had managed to add the wooden disk and feather at the bottom by herself and Malen had felt his heart melt when she had grinned with satisfaction at her own work. Once the dreamcatcher was in place Kishi lay down on her stomach and streached out on the bed." Read me another story please" she asked grey eyes imploring her father to grant her wish. Malen unable to deny the 'chibi eyes' nodded and sat down on a chair. " Alright let us start with a creation story." He began to launch into a tale of a medicine bundle and Coyote a story of first woman and first man. All the while he watched as Kishi smiled, frowned or stared up at her dreamcatcher and he wondered for a moment if the the object would truly bring only the best for his daughter or if it were only myth.

Dear Diary:
Ahh the joys of parenting, so I have of course made a mistake that I can't repair . Earlier today I introduced Kishi to bubble gum. While she doesn't have the ability to blow bubbles yet ( thank god) she's also still on the move while chewing and i'm terrified she'll choke or something. Still I gave her it as a treat and she's rather attached to gum, she likes chewing it, playing with it on her tounge and the fact that the flavour of each peice lasts quite some time.
Hopefuly even if I can't break her of the gum habit ( who knew these things could form in one day) I can restrict her to once every few days and only while she's watching t.v.
Malen.

Dear Diary:
I faltered at the challenge of gum, though after watching Del try to get a wad out of her hair Kishi appears to be some what more subdued in her chewing. She's also very apologetic as it was apparently her fault the gum got there in the first place. Something to do with a gum song and an experiment.
I have however suceeded at the trial of No , it wasn't an easy thing to do either. Always being on the move and exploring Kishi keeps getting herself into trouble and she hates taking warnings. However, I refused to risk her safety when she started playing with matches and candles ( I need to figure out how they got within her reach) We began the ever enjoyable fight over what the word no meant and who was allowed to use it and when.
A couple days have passed and things have worked themselves out. Kishi resents me and my authority at the moment but aside from the occasional glare she's not acting too upset about how things worked out.
Parenting gets a bit harder every day but I know each night as I tuck my children in that it is always worth it.
Malen.

(takes place back in june)
Airaka, Xtol, Malen and Kishi
Airaka clutched the young brunette wyrmling to her chest, scanning the area for anyone alive, before stepping out into the open of the main lobby. She half wanted to seek out Coailiann, and half didn't. The red-head hoped to explain things more intelligently to the child, but she was also nervous that she might mess up, like she had the last time. The word, "Omelet" still echoed through her mind.
Xtol yawned again, and stretched out his wings, forcing Airaka to switch hands around so she could hold him in her arm, and hold the baby carrier in her other hand. His tail swung back and forth beneath him, as he watched his mother with wide yellow eyes, chewing on the pacifier stuck in his mouth. While it prevented him from making noise, he found it odd, and enjoyable.
The mother-son pair moved toward the television, which seemed to be Airaka's favorite spot when she entered the main lobby, even though she never turned the TV on, and fell into one of the large plush chairs. Xtol sat in his mothers lap, tiny fingers brushing against the comfy furniture; it felt different from the harder chairs at home. His mother smiled warmly, though distractedly, thankful for the quietness, and running her fingers through the child's hair, as she fiddled with her thoughts.
Kishi raced down the hallway her flowerkitten in tow. Her father after making some delicious baking things had retired to his room and refused to come out. Upon spotting Xtol she squealed, the dragon boy was one of her favorite people." Hi Xtol wanna play?" Kishi was well aware that Xtol was smaller than her now and so was his wand but she was tired of her normal wand fighting anyways and was open for other forms of play.
Malen who'd heard the name Xtol through the wall jumped off the bed and marched out of his room and into the living room "Airaka where in the hell do you get off telling a child babies come from Fish and eggs, and that men have fish, I mean gods woman even I could have manged the word p***s if required to while sorting out the mess you made." Malen yelled at the woman completely ignoring the fact that there were two young children in the vicinity. He had few good feelings for the woman to begin with and this had been the last straw.
Xtol also let out a half squeal, until he noticed the pacifier falling from his mouth. Then he wave his arms wildly, until Airaka grabbed the small blue object, and put it back in they baby wyvern's mouth. He held out his hands and toes towards Kishi, wiggling both his finger and his toes.
Airaka smiled warmly at Kishi, "My, you've grown, Ki -" Her compliment was interupted by Malen. She blinked dumbly at him, before he first swore, then her hands flew to Xtol's ears, and a look of fright came to her eyes. Quickly, her fingers turned the boy toward her, Xtol seeming quite peeved by the fact, but she hugged the child tightly the whole time, glaring at Malen.
"Malen. Calm down." She released the fidgeting child in her arms, and set him back down in her lap. Xtol growled at her, and attempted to turn himself back around towards Kishi. When he failed, only moving a bit, tears started down his face. Airaka reached over beisde her, pulling the blanket out from the child carrier, whipping off Xtol's tears with it. That didn;t calm the child though, nope. Xtol started howling, and she sighed, getting to her feet, and rocking the child back and forth. The steady movement lolled the child back to a more calm state, and she set the child inside the carrier so he could sit up.
As Xtol's fingers coiled around the handle, he grinned at Kishi, and Airaka moved toward Malen. She rolled her eyes, and said, "I really wish you wouldn't use curse words around my child. You can raise Kishi your own way, but don't go against how I raise Xtol." She smiled weakly at him, now moving on to the reason he had even entered the room. Her face was, once again, tinged pink at the whole mess of everything. "I didn't believe Coailiann needed to learn about 'where babies come from' at her age. I do admit, I am at fault here. I should have just told her to speak with either you or Ianna. "
Kishi who'd been momentarily frozen by her fathers rage relaxed when she decided she wasn't it's target and made her way over to Xtol. Kneeling she reached out to touch him.
Malen gave a snort and contined to glare at Airaka as though she were someone undeserving of his presence. It was rare for Malen to be in such a mood, rare for him to truly feel anger and usually it was when he was hunting the worst kind of scum but now he simply refused to control his temper. "I do not give a flying rats a** what these children hear at the moment they are young and more interested in each other than what we say. You would do well to remember that headqueaters or not this is my home Airaka and that means we use my rules." Malen seethed trembling with rage but restraining himself from actually cuasing any harm to the cursed woma. "When children ask you a question you awnser them and you awnser it truthfully and to the best of yoru ability otherwise you just confuse them. The first mistake any parent makes is lying to their children because eventually they grow up and become distant from us becuase they feel we can't be trusted. You could have already planted the seeds of distrust in Kay Now that i've had to explain to her that you were wrong. In the future you will not presume to tell my children anythin gthat is not a scientfic fact no matter what they ask you is that understood" He thundered.
Xtol was paused by the yelling, eying the adults, his head tilted slightly. He flinched when he felt someone near him, and turned back to Kishi. His yellow eyes watched her for a few moment, before his tail wiggled out, and he sat it against the palm of her hand.
Airaka's hand flew up to her mouth as Malen swore again, eyes widening then shrinking as she lowered her hands. Both hands were clenched into a fist as she replied, "I know that Xtol is young, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't have ears. He watches everything you say, and learns from it." Though her voice was cold, it didn't become any louder from it's usual quiet state.
"You, obviously, have a different way of raising your children then I do. I understand that. But that doesn't mean that I will change myself to teach exactly as you do Malen. I will not explain to Xtol, when he is the same age as Coailiann, how to properly have sex. If lying keeps him away from making love at six, then so be it.
Though, because you have asked it of me, I will not tell your children anything but facts, or, if I don't feel sutible to answer the question, I'll direct the children toward you."
Kishi grinned and began petting his tail " You're pretty you know , you have nice wings and tail, I wish i could have a tail too." Kishi truly thought that having a tail would be wonderful, she could flock it when annoyed or tap people with it or just pretend to talk to and put a puppet on it. Someday she decided she would have a tail.
Malen shrugged "Then he'll learn to swear, if you dont like it don't come here unless you need Ianna." Malen knew his words were unfair and that he couldn't expect the guardian to keep away when Xtol would probably need to socialise with his own kind ona regular basis as he grew. Still letting Airaka know she was unwelcome would atleast keep her civil.
He laughed harshly at her words" Proper sex talk informs the child that they are not ready to have sex at a young age it also prepares them for any predators they might encounter. Safe means informed woman unless you think you can watch your boy every minute of the day as he grows and you feel him old enough to know of course by then both friends and the internet should have him more informed that you probably are." Malen was vaughly aware that he was becoming cruel but the thought of Coailiann looking up at him so confused and so vulnerable fueled the anger within him
Xtol looked at the girl, with his bright yellow eyes, then tilted himself so he was leaning on her. He flicked his tail around he other side, so she could still reach it if she wanted to, and gurgled softly.
Airaka blinked at his statements, flinched, and reached up to scratched the mark under her left eye. She gave a sigh, and looked over at the two children, before back at Malen. "So, are you telling me, that you have already, or will soon, tell Kishi about sex? What do you judge as a 'young age'? And, yes, if needed, I will watch Xtol every moment of my life, if that is how I must keep him from dangers, such as yourself." She opened and closed her fists, watching for his rebuttle.
Kishi wrapped her arms around Xtol so she could continue to pet him. it war hard became he had wings that got in the way but that was ok. " someday we will fly togeather" she stated calmly. Kishi had made up her mind on this fact, after all what would be more fun that flying with her friend who had an awesome tail.
Malen took a menacing step towards Airaka eyes glinting " How dare you accuse me of being a danger to a child." Malen's voice was was cold and steady. "******** dare you, get out of My house Airaka and do not return until you learn some respect." All of the past arument was now sweapt aside, Airaka had thrown down the worst possible insult she could and Malen was teetering on the edge of snapping.
Xtol felt odd in the hug, and wiggled slightly before relaxing. His tail waved back and forth. He didn't understand what Kishi was saying, though he was pretty sure it meant something good, before Airaka hugged him before he got something good.
"Respect..." Airaka coughed slightly, before continuing with what it was she was going to say. "Respect, Malen, is the only thing I grew up on. If anyone needs to learn it, it's you. "
She was ready to leave, and turned around to do so, though she paused as she saw Xtol and Kishi chugging each other. The red-head coughed again, watching the two uncomfortably, with no idea of what she should do at the moment. She felt no reason to just detach the children from each other, but she was starting to feel nevous standing by Malen.
"Kishi leave the room." Kishi looked over at her father confused by the words and not wanting to leave Xtol but her father's tone brooked no arugment. Kishi placed a kiss Xtol forehead stood up and headed down the hall turning so she could go into the gardens where her sister would be swimming.
Malen took another step towards Airaka "I will give you thirty seconds to leave my house woman before I give you the sound thrashing you deserve for daring to insult me as you have." The malen who stood before Airaka now was not the one who danced about the kitchen ina pink apron, not the one who crawled through rose bushes to please his daughter. This Malen was far more dangerous and more cruel. He had ordered this woman from his house when she had insulted him and she had done nothing he would be generous and warn her a second time, if she refused to leave he would forcibly remove her and he would damn well enjoy it.
Xtol placed his hands on his forehead, then turned to look at the two adults, though Airaka was kneeling down infront of him. He blinked at the kind smile on her face, and attempted to look at thman behind her, when Airaka pulled the carrier up, and he slipped down into the cushion. The wyrmling gave a giggling gurgle, and covered his eyes with the blanket.
Airaka turned to him, and bowed her head quickly, before she moved toward the teleporter. She didn't look back at Malen, more then discusted with his attitude, instead, she stared straight ahead. Her open fist slowly unclenched herself, and she shivered as she stepped through the portal. As she stepped into the Shop, she paused, taking a moment to cough again, then pushed open the door.

Dear diary:
Well it's about to begin, I'm soon to lose my youngest child to the world of education. She's been approved to attend an all day Kindergarten program as long as she stays the age she currently is. It should be interesting to see how I cope with not having her and Del around all the time, I'm not sure if Ianna is sending Coaliann to school or not, one way or another it will be far quieter here soon.
Malen p.s Boo for back to school shopping I'm going to be surrounded by women and miserable children in every damned store.

PD with Bly, Malen and, Kishi. IceBlake IceBlake Bly sat at a table in the back of the library, two stacks of books, one on each side, waiting to be devoured. in front of him, one lay open, and he pored over it quickly, jotting notes and scratching mineral names off a list as he flipped pages. "No... no... no... Aha!" He glanced and scribbled, copying the article as fast as he could. "I've been wondering why this stone seemed familiar..." Scribble. ladyumbra Kishi walked into the library grinning, she was looking for a new book for her father to read to her at night. While she wouldn't be able to make out any of the titles she could look at the cover art and make her choice that way. Malen strode into the library shortly after his daughter, he however was there for a different reason. He was looking for parental guides to teaching so that he could help his older children with thier school work for when they came to him with problems. Kishi figuring that all the good stuff was at the back of the library headed straight there only to find a person who looked to be working hard " Hi there" she said softly so as not to scare them. IceBlake "One second, please..." Scribble, scribble scribble. "Ah, finished. And who might you be, young lady?" The gnome smiled, a twinkle in his blue eyes, as he swiveled in his chair to face Kishi. ladyumbra "I'm Kishi I live here, do you have a kid like me with a wand, I have one too but it's in my room right now becuase I can't carry it and a book." Kishi thought this man looked sort of strange but he was still interesting. Malen could hear his daughter talking but chose not to interfere just yet after all she couldn't get into too much trouble with another guardian watching her. IceBlake Bly pulls his small wand from a front pocket on his leather workbelt. "I do have a wand, but I received it from Ianna just a few days ago; you won't have a playmate from here for a while yet... but you can hold it if you want." He thinks for a split second while offering the wand and continues, "You say you can't carry your wand and a book... Why is that?" ladyumbra Kishi reached out for the offered object and smiled "She'd only ever held one other wand and she hadn't seen it owr the wisp attached to it in a long time " My wand gets bigger as I get bigger so it's pretty big now and I can't carry it and my book" She said sighing. It wasn't fair becuase she liked to carry her wand everywhere. IceBlake He carefully placed his lavendar wand in both Kishi's hands before releasing it. "You'd be surprised how heavy this little thing is; that's why I've been researching the mineral it's made from." He paused a moment, considering a wand growing. "Interesting... Oh, how rude of me. I received your name but didn't introduce myself. My title is" without pausing for breath, "Blydoc Teoryn Blyn Rodd Cimyr Daer Ruddry Lacen Vydd, of the Mad Line of Manchis... but you may call me Bly." He leans to his notes and jots something about wand growth in a margin. ladyumbra Kishi carefully took the wand and prepared herself for the weight, it wasn't too bad but it wasn't extremely light either.she looked at Bly and grinned " you have a long name like Zah but longer." she looked curious for a moemnt then continued " you said mad line of something is there an unmad line ?" she also wondered if mad meant crazy or angry becuase Bly didn't seem very angry IceBlake Bly laughed quietly at that. "Well, my family wasn't considered crazy all the time, but they were for the last 1000 or so years." His eyes faded, dulling a bit as he thought about his past, but they quickly snapped back to Kishi. "That's a bit of a long story, though, and I think I'll save if for later. It's not that important anyway." ladyumbra Kishi nodded and focused her attention on the wand after all it was what was important. It's colouring thrilled her since she loved all things purple, sadly it had no wings meanign it's occupant would also be wingless. Still it was purple and very cool looking . " what's inside?" she asked wonderign if the wands inhabitant was a boy or a girl . IceBlake Bly paused for a second, considering that question. "Ianna's book mentioned the word Slithzerikai, but I have yet to find anything about them as of yet." He points to a stack of books on his right. "That's what I intend to work through today. I've spent the last couple breaks from my workbench skimming my old notes for mentionings of Soul Crystals, and I just finished some light reading about them now. It seems they grow only from this kind of purplish rock, which can only be found deep in wet underground caverns... but that's all I've seen so far." He points to the stack on his left. "That's how many more sources I could find here, and I can't wait to read through them to find out more!" He clasped his hands together happily, seeming younger for moment; you could almost ignore the grey hair and wrinkles. ladyumbra Kishi couldn't understand half of what Bly was saying so she just nodded and grinned " Well I bet it's neat becuase the wand is purple and purple is cool." She tilted the wand a bit letting light hit it from different angles " oh and my daddy is here somewhere if you wanna talk to him becuase he knows lots about lots of things. IceBlake "That sounds fine, Kishi. It'd be nice to meet some more parents. You can keep playing with the wand if you want, but be careful with it if you do... and where is your dad, anyway?" Bly glanced around the library, searching. ladyumbra At that pont Malen walked a few feet between a pair of shelves and around one so he was within sight. " I"m right here, My name is Malen and it's a pleasure to meet you Bly." He gave the other male a grin and nodded to his daughter " Thank you for being so king with Kishi she can be rather inquisitive and tact isn't her strong point.." He made a mental note to explain to Kishi that you just didn't ask some questions. Kishi oblivious to anythign she may have done wrong focused on her permission to continue to play with the wand. She ran her fingers over it slowly taking in every detail. IceBlake "I had a feeling you'd be somewhere nearby, listening in... If a child has tact, they're a bit too old to be called children anymore. She didn't ask me any questions I haven't been asked before, so no need to worry about it." Bly considered where to take the conversation next carefully before continuing, though the pause was only a second. So, Malen, what do you do for a living? Kishi mentioned that you know a lot about a lot, and I wondered what jobs would give you a wide knowledge base." ladyumbra Malen pondered Blys words before nodding and smiling, the Gnome had a point there. he laughed softly at Kishi's description of his intelligence " I know a lot about a lot as Kishi would put it becuase I too was inquisitive as a child and then as I got older my twin and future best friend shoved a lot of random information into my mind while they studied things. I'm no smarter than an average person I just have a lot of trivia tucked away." Malen believed that to be true , he was smart yes and he knew random things that were helpful but he was no genius. " As for my occupation, I'm a bounty hunter, it's a job with it's up and downs but you meet the most interesting people tracking down the scum of Gaia." Malen tone was still pleasant for the moment, he had no problems discussing his job with someone who seemed as openminded as Bly IceBlake "Oh; that makes sense... Our jobs aren't that different, either. You hunt down people for profit, while I search for information; I guess you wouldn't be one surprised by what you can find in back alleys. I'm an inventor by trade, which tends to force me into research, but I'm not complaining." He motioned to the stacks of books behind him. "For light reading during breaks. The less I'm at the workbench, the less likely my hair will be singed shorter at the end of the day." ladyumbra Malen had to laugh at that , he foudn bly to be a rather entertaining guardian and he hoped to see quite a bit of him around headquarters." What sort of things do you invent?" he inquired IceBlake "I'm a bit of a jack-of-all-trades compared to the usual tinker... I've successfully tried my hand at the usual smithing and mechanics, but they didn't interest me much until I created my first mini-revolver for a friend. That started me down the road to chemistry, and then to alchemy, where I've enjoyed myself creating lighter metal alloys and toying with mineral compositions. It may not sound all that interesting, but I keep being hired to make special gunpowders on contract... That gets a little tedious after a while, especially if you don't make mistakes." He sighed at that, and his eyes glazed again for a split second. "Ah well; if you can't do it on accident, you can always make fireworks. I enjoy lighting them up near the park between Durem and Barton..." ladyumbra " Hmm sounds like an interesting job and somehow I can see Ianna asking you to make fireworks for special occasion ." He had no doubt his now fiance would take advantage of such a skilled person amongst the guardians." heck some of the kids when they get older would probably be interested in the sorts of things you could make" he let his eyes wander to Kishi as he spoke. At this age it was so hard to tell what her future held, which paths she would follow. IceBlake "I'm sure I'll enjoy making toys for my child and others; I just hope my days give me the time for it in the future. I tend to lock myself in the lab when I work, which I'll have to stop when my wand forms its child... or maybe I'll make it a safe room in the lab. I haven't really decided yet." Bly followed Malen's gaze to Kishi, who seemed mesmirized by the wand. That line brough his eyes down to his wristwatch; Bly gasped. "Oh no; it seems I've dallied a bit too much today! I'm an hour behind schedule! It was nice to meet both you and Kishi, Malen, but it's time to run. If I leave my gunpowder mixture under pressure too long, it could become too volatile to sell to a... normal client." He stuck as many books as he could into his work-belt and stacked the others quickly back onto the bookshelf in one place. "That should be easy to remember... Now, I'll be happy to see both of you later, but I need to run; it might be trouble if I don't shut down the boiler soon." ladyumbra Malen nodded " By all means go and I hope to see you again soon." Bly was perhaps the most interesting guardian he'd met aside from Neveah and certainly one he thought would raise a child in a totally unique manner. Kishi understood what was going on at last and held out the wand sadly " Bring it back soon I like it a lot" She stated firmly. IceBlake Bly took the wand back from Kishi and carefully stuck it in a loop in his toolbelt designed for a screwdriver. He nodded, facing Malen again. "I enjoyed both of your company, and I'll be sure to bring her back for you to play with later, Kishi." Bly smiled down at her, though Kishi wasn't much shorter than he. Bly paused for a second, noting his own words. Why did I just say 'her'? "..Hmm... Well, I'm sure this wand has already made my life more interesting. You've both given me plenty to consider, but.." He glanced at his watch. "I don't have time left!" He ran toward the door as fast as a heavily laden gnome can. "See you again soon!" he called back, his voice echoing through the library's book-filled corridors. ladyumbra With their strange and enchanting visitor gone the pair grinned at each and returned to their respectice tasks.
