Jake rolled over on his back and stared up at the leaves, watching them sway in the wind. "I hate life." he muttered.

Cheyenne continued to play some basketball by herself.

Something hit Jake on the back of the head and fell out of the tree. "AH!" he yelped, then sat up and rubbed his head. He looked up at two kids his age. "Hey Jake!" one of them said, grinning. "Long time no see." said the other.
Jake recognized them as his friends. "Dammit Kyle, dammit Dylan."
"Aw come on, you know you missed us." Kyle grinned.
"Dude let's go watch chicks in the gym." Dylan said.
"I'm in. Let's go Jake." they both walked towards the gym.
Jake cursed under his breath and stood,following them.
(Ah nice reuinions of older guys who like women >_<)

After a while, Cheyenne was joined in the gym by a couple of her teammates. They put down their stuff and started to practice with her.

Kyle, Dylan, and Jake went into the gym. Kyle sat down, Dylan leaned against the wall, and Jake just kind of stood there. He saw Cheyenne and hoped she didn't see him. He kept watching her, though.
Kyle looked at him. "Surprising how much Cheyenne has changed, isn't it?"
"Yeah." was all Jake managed.
"Too bad you had to leave, or maybe she wouldn't of gotten with someone else."
Jake looked at them. "Who?" he asked, then flushed a little when he realized how much that sounded like a demand instead of a question.

"Pass, pass!" Cheyenne said, running around one of her teammates as they were blocked by another. The girl passed her the ball and Cheyenne caught it. She dribbled it, dodging one of the other girls as they tried to hit it out of her hands. She ran for the basket. When she was 5 feet in front of it, she took the shot. The basketball made an arch, then swished in to the basket.

The guy hugged Cheyenne, kissing her forehead for doing a good job. Cheyenne laughed, hugging him back.

Jake suddenly felt very hot. He didn't know why, but seeing this made him very angry. "What's his name?" he said, trying to make his voice sound calm, but it cracked a bit with anger.

"Get a room you to." Cheyenne's friends teased her. Cheyenne stuck her tongue out at them, making her boyfriend laugh.

"I said what's his name??" Jake demanded. Dylan raised his eyebrows. "Um....(boyfriends name insert here)...Why?" "Why do you care?" Kyle asked.

"Come on Alex, let's go, we don't want to be late." Cheyenne said, picking up her stuff. He picked up his stuff too and they left the gym, holding hands.

Jake's hands were in tight fists. He followed Cheyenne and her boyfriend, leaving a confused Kyle and Dylan. He didn't know why, but he suddenly hated "Alex" more then anything.
