WELL THEY DO!
I remember reading from this list, that, "You know you've been in Russia too long when ___" and one of them was, 'You are standing in line now at the store after having won a shoving match with a babushka and you are proud'. x3 That and 'When crossing the street, you sprint'. That made me laugh xD

I remember when I was little my mom grabbed my hand so that I wouldn't. She was all, Don't worry, even if the car does come too soon it'll hit me before it hits you.
I was like.
OH THANKS MOM. SUCH A SENTIMENT.

[ ~Jasmine~ ] spanishnerd99 Oh My GOD! I want a/to be a foreign exchange student so bad! crying crying crying crying crying crying Ok, I think I'm gonna start to rant know. I think that my parents not letting me go to Spain or something is the one thing holding me back from total fluency. I mean, if I lived in a house where they only speak Spanish, and all I hear all day is Spanish, I would HAVE to use it to "survive". And then I'd easily become fluent. Every morning, I listen to Spanish music/podcasts with out any kind of interaction in English. The problem is, the minute I take the iPod off, I hear English again, which ruins everything. I've GOT to do this! sweatdrop So then I thought of letting a student live here. We could speak Spanish a lot, even though he/she'd want to speak English also. I wouldn't mind, because I'd have a friend at school who can actually speak Spanish well. whee But, my parents aren't good with that idea either. It Sucks so bad. cry So, I guess I'll never get to experience anything like I dream. It's makes me sour inside.
There's an organisation EF (Education First) that holds language courses in Spain and other countries. The course can be 2-32 weeks and you'd still live with a host family. Maybe your parents would let you go for like 4 weeks during the summer holidays or something?
Oh, here's the link if you're interested: EFI won't even attempt that. I already know the answer to my own question.

Quote: Hell I couldn't be futher away from the Republic. XD YAY CENTRAL TEXAS. ;~;. Yes, we will go to Prague. And even if I am really skilled with Czech by then I'm going to pretend not to speak it so I can use their bathrooms without having to buy anything. >:. I'm a cheap b*****d. Babushka is fun to say XP So we'll go to Prague, and only speak good Czech when it's in our benefit. The rest of the time we shall be like ????? and annoy the Czech people. And then we shall drop in on the Czech people we know without warning and scare them... How long do you think we'll be able to make it before we're kicked out? XD

OMG! I'd be bawling! It'll be okay...
That reminds me of that trip to Japan that I was supposed to go on. The teacher decided to go to Toronto during the time we were supposed to go instead, and couldn't get any other chaperones. So I can relate a little...
