Ortinbras maby hes just a bit rusty? i mean he did lie incased in materia for 5 years.
Think about it, Sephiroth was JENOVA's puppet from the start, so wouldn't killing it take a huge toll on Sephiroth's power?

Safer Seph was hard to be the first time I got to him, but I beat him the second time I faced him. This was because I didn't have KOTR. If you want to challege yourself, don't use KOTF and mimic.
In KH, I went up against Sephiroth in hard mode (I only tried Seph in easy mode to look at the pretty opener. sweatdrop razz ) ANYWAY, I took me a few times but I beat him for the first time on hard mode. He is hard if you don't know how to fight him correctly.

I thought Sephiroth was really difficult at the end of the game. Especially Safer Sephiroth. Hell, the first time I so much as looked at the Bizarro Sephiroth, it wasn't my game, but somebody elses, and it took the both of us two hours to fight Bizarro Sephiroth, cos the materia wasn't levelled up enough. And in the end it was me that got the party killed. Whoops lol

if you need to level up materia use the apocalypse of clouds it will triple the amount of ap and you can get it leveled really good thats what i did to master all mine

If you level up all of your characters to level 99, then Sephiroth will be slightly more difficult, but not by much.

oh really? i thought it was like a film thing. like when i fought him, i didn't control him at all, it went straight to my limit break (omnislash) and then... straight to the ending film thingy afterwards. i didn't know we had other options. wow, so yeah... um... hmm! i wanna try and do something else next time. i wonder, how badly does he injure you? what are his attacks? cuz, i just took him out in one blow so.....????

i thought he was hard! but then again the first time i got to him i was only lvl 30 or 40.
i don't know how but recently i've been hitting lvl 75 before the end of disc one o_O i guess that's what happens when u go for aeris's limit break haha

Try fightning the Ruby weapon. It's not weak. wink
Anyway, the only reason most of you didn't have trouble beating Sephiroth is because you had Knights of Round and other really good materia. And you probably did alot of training.
Try going through the game without doing any sidequests or training, and go immediatly to the last boss. You'll probably have trouble with it then. 3nodding

Actually, I haven't beaten him yet.
Why?
Because I got sick of thinking he was strong and leveling all my characters up to level 99.
I got sick of running Cloud around in the submarine.

Beating Sephy was indeed too easy. I mean...two rounds of KOTR does most of the damage anyway. I tried to videotape the battle on my digital camera but it ran outta time : oh well...it was fun.
I hated running Cloud around in the sub too (wait, do you mean airplane, Taseisha?) but it was pretty worth it (my charas weren't level 99).

yeah, sephiroth was to easy, oh, the ending made a little since, but what would have been really cool is if there was a secret ending, were like sephiroth won, we all know that would have been cool blaugh blaugh blaugh

Too easy. I equiped slash all with yuffie and 2x cut with cloud. Cloud also had omnislash. The Final battle is impossible to lose since your limit builds up by itself. Also if you have counter attack master. you can let sephiroth attack you and you will attack him back. If you hit him once hes dead.
