At one point you had 2k minerals and almost no gas. You had no gas at your natural, you could of easily taken 2 more bases with that much extra minerals. Even if one of those bases were just for gas :] thats my only comment from watching it on x8 ^^;; oh lol@his first push, he led his marines in front and made his tanks blow up his marines, making him have no aa. hahahaha xP

I would have LOVED to expand, but simply taking and holding my natural was hard enough, I just never felt comfortable enough to expand anywhere as I felt like he had control of the map and would see me moving out for an expansion if I tried.

when you stopped the first attack you had time to send a drone out, even if you dont make a hatch right away its a good way to secure the safety of the drone on the way there. The terran (from what i remember) didnt scout the other expansions much. Taking extra bases would of been a great idea to me, if he goes out and kills them it would leave his natural/main wide open to an attack. I think he was too worried to move out due to the mutalisk any ways. When people see mutalisks they dont really like to move out, so you had map control when you had them out. keeping your money low is always important ^^ of coarse my play style is different compared to others ^^; hope that helped!

Absolutely it would have been a good idea, had I the knowledge to know his view of the map wasn't actually as good as I thought and that I wasn't as far behind as I thought.

I think this game was actually really screwed up in the fact that both of us over estimated each other, like I seriously thought I was dead, and was just holding on barely, but as it turned out I wasn't quite as far behind as I thought.

Also, the expanding trouble also came from knowing I'd have to transfer workers, and all he'd need is control of the watchtower to know where I am transferring them to and when, and also, the positioning really made it hard, simply for the fact that I didn't have a good place to expand to. Generally I don't like throwing down a random expo, I prefer to defend my expo before I take it, and on that map, generally expanding up or down and defending it is a lot harder than expanding right or left, normally I would have taken HIS base, and/or the gold with my expo, but because of our spawn positions I was unable to safely take the gold and felt too vulnerable to try and take any of the upper expos.

scouting is your best friend! scout his bottem ramp with a ling and you can usually get almost all the intel you need on the guy ^^ and controlling the towers is ALWAYS important. It tells you when hes moving out, and where hes going, and if hes going to expo. I noticed both of you had over 2k at one point ^^; i get what your saying, but both of you were just sitting there, if you used your lings and mutas to control the middle of the map w the towers you could take some expansions. i was aiming for getting an expo up and just use the gas by making drones so you could level out your minerals/gas so you can get more muta. Then once you have a good amount that you are comfortable with transfer drones. Your army is very mobile, so if he moved out to your main or an expo, you have plently of time to decide to defend or counter him. since you spawned like that you dont really have a choice to not expo in a weird fashion, gotta adapt! I think i said all i can for some suggestions, i understand not everyone plays the same ^^ GG

I have to agree with Gabba on the expanding. It's not that I don't understand how you felt during that game, because I really do. But sometimes you need to just take a chance and throw down and expo and get it going, hoping it at least pays for itself in the process. In your situation, I probably would have tossed out two at once, just for redundancy. If he happens to find one and kill it or force a cancel, he's likely to think you're backed into a corner and going to play more defensively until you get that one back. Obviously at the highest tiers of play they're checking everywhere all the time, but if you watch your old replays, you're going to see games where neither of you scouted the other half of the map the entire time.

It may feel like you're not getting ahead by skill and rather just counting on them to make a mistake, but you HAVE to give them the chance to make that mistake and then capitalize on it. SC is a mind game, not an APM game.

Edit: Also, it fixes the gas issue I mentioned in one of your other games. smile

Toss f**

Platinum Protoss VS Gold Zerg.

I can't believe this guy is plat. He opens with a proxy pylon 4 gate into my base, which I didn't scout and that didn't work.

So then he tries the next noobish thing he can do, and gets the VR rush against my complete ground army.

And that didn't quite work either....Hmmm....I love seeing players that win games entirely on cheese and tricks. I wanted to BM him, but he left the game before I had the chance, lol.

I can understand your anger, but you need to calm down. I can sense that you over-reacted cuz your apm jumped from like the 50s to 200s when you attacked, most of which didnt help your macro.

Well I wouldn't say anger... I think he's just bashing the lack of creativity from the protoss. Which I cant argue because I haven't seen any deviation from Toss builds lately. Four gates and/or cheese.

This. Not mad, just typical BM 'cause shitty toss players suck so hard, it wasn't something I expected to see from a plat league player.

My apm usually spikes during micro to around 200 in most games, 50 is pretty typical early for me because I'm not spamming too much until mid game where it will hover around a consistent 80-90, with obvious micro spikes, with mutaling especially.

Zerg generally require more micro all around, for macro, micro, and production. Off the bat, you have to inject all your hatcheries 24/7, to make units, you need an extra click to select larvae, creep spread, you have more units to micro, it just all adds up. I enjoy playing zerg more because of this, I'm constantly doing something, with terran I get bored, and with toss I have fun as well with all the micro and chrono boosts.

There is that, and mainly the only real APM that counts is spikes, because that's when you're going to need to out apm your opponent for micro/macro at the same time. I dislike people who think you need to constantly click nothing early game, I can see some people do it to, "Warm Up" their fingers and such, but most people do it just for e-peen on APM =/.

I had a habit of it when I played BW, and it really helped me warm up and get better, so I think now I only do it because it's a habit and it gets me in my comfort zone. But I can see how most people would do it because they care about APM.

Hold the Defense!

I'm not entirely sure what went on in this game, I was pretty drunk when playing it, all I remember was holding off some really strong roach pressure and wanting to bash this guy for some reason, I think it was this guy.

I remember his portrait and being all "******** cool!" But then he did something in game to piss me off, but I think I won anyways with mutalisks I assume.

Another Terrible Protoss Player

I scouted the double gateway, knew what was coming, and reacted by defending, at which point I decided 'hell let's get some mutalisks cause he's probably gunna go void ray after this' and so he did.

His VR's do quite a bit of damage, but I held off with queens and got my corruptors, and forced a player who probably gets a lot of really fast wins with cheese to play a long winded game.

Too bad anti-cheese happens to be my specialty.

This match was for e-peen tbh.

I'll post some of me losing tomorrow to make up for it.

What a miserable embarrassing loss this was.

Whathefu-thor?!

A mass Thor rush really did me in, kept me contained and I had no idea how to make it out of this one, I ******** up a bit with my infestor control, but I don't think it would have helped enough to win the damn game.

What makes me mad is how easy that Thor rush must have been to have only like 30 apm average, I do think I messed up quite a bit by trying to get too counter aggressive, but I felt trapped and needed to do something to get my expansion up.

Mutas weren't an option with that many thors out, zerglings do crap all, perhaps a lot of target firing hydras or roaches, I just didn't know how to react in this case. The Thor is probably the hardest unit to counter in the game I think, what's worse is a knew banshees could also be coming if I was able to hold off another Thor push, it'd only be a matter of time before he'd just come in and take advantage of my no anti-air.

This was an incredibly frustrating match for me.

My New Strat!

A new strategy I decided to try out thanks to Day9 funday monday inspiration, turns out it's a mind blowingly good strategy, and I think it's going to become a pretty popular addition to the zerg arsenal once it's been perfected.

My most intense ZvZ ever.

This goes down as probably one of the best games I've been part of, it felt really intense for me, lots of back and forth actions, and a really close zvz.

You have got to be ******** kidding me.

I have never raged so hard before.

I seriously hate the planetary fortress.

I tried everything against this guy, I don't think there was a single unit I DIDN'T make, and he sucked really bad and knew it, so all he did was sit around his planetary fortress and turrets and waited for me to lose all my units trying to kill it.

I mined out every one of my 5 bases, didn't build any defences, got upgrades galore, wiped out 4/5 of HIS bases and STILL lost.

How does this even happen?! What the ********!
