Michael listened intently to Melody as she explained her attraction to the ocean. Once again he felt a twinge of sympathy for the siren, and he wanted to help. Maybe he could help her escape, erase her records and allow her to be free of this landlocked world and be free in the ocean where she felt she belonged.

His thoughts were startlingly interrupted when a small wave crashed into his frame as he stood. Michael looked up to see Melody staring at him with a smile on her face, and a twinkle in her eye that proved she was guilty of the small attack. He grinned back at her before scooping his arm under the water, sending the water towards Melody in playful retaliation.

When Melody resurfaced with a smile on her face, he didn't notice the new tail until it kicked out of the water and splashed him. For some reason he found himself laughing, he had never been splashed by a siren's tail before, and the rational side of his brain was telling him he should be panicking. However, as usual, he never listened to that side of the brain.

Michael was about to send another armful of water in her direction, but it was too late, she had dove under the water for protection. Above the surface, Michael was a bit scared, he had no idea what she could do to him in her natural element, "Now that's hardly fair." he stated simply. Before she could try anything, Michael himself dived under the water, still unsure of what he would do himself. Instead he simply floated under the surface, staring at Melody who was swimming around beneath him.

Michael had to surface for air before Melody returned. Before he could respond, Melody slipped a necklace around his head, which didn't seem to worry him until the necklace started to close around his neck. His eyes widened and his hands scrabbled at the magical piece of jewelry. Only when the necklace stopped shrinking did he finally calm down, only to be startled again by a voice that seemed to come from every direction. Only by looking at Melody did he realize that she was speaking to him telepathically.

When she instructed him to breath underwater, he understood perfectly well that he would be able to breath normally, he trusted Melody. However, his body was adamant about not allowing him to breath, it was just in no way possible to gain enough oxygen through the water. Michael realized that the only way he could get over this was by trying to drown himself, so against his better judgement he swam after the siren, who was much faster than he could ever hope to be. He tried to occupy his mind with things that didn't delve into his life, Michael wasn't sure how far the telepathy thing could reach into his own mind, and he didn't want Melody knowing he was a Guardian Angel.

It was near the mouth of the cave that his lungs began to burn from lack of oxygen. He tried to resist the urge to swim to the surface, but he couldn't for long, and he would never make it back in time. So Michael did what anyone needing air would do, breath. He expected a rush of water to invade his lungs, but instead pure clean air reached them. He breathed deeply for anminute, savoring the effect of breathing underwater before mentally broadcasting, "this is fantastic! I would have never thought..." Michael looked at Melody with a huge grin on his face, clearly happy about what she had done.

"So do you bring all the guys you meet into the ocean like this? Or am I really just that special?" He thought playfully.

Michael's response to her last question was quick as he cocked an eyebrow and smiled, Maybe I'm just a lot of both... He was about to say more, but Melody's attention was directed to something from within the cave. Michael had heard nothing, but then again he wasn't a siren. He didn't question her or hang around to find out what they needed to hide from, instead he tried to follow Melody as quietly as he could. He wasn't exactly sure how to go about being quiet while swimming, but he tried to using long deliberate strokes. He then wriggled himself into the same crevice Melody had taken refuge in. Even though he knew his thoughts probably couldn't be heard, he whispered his thought to Melody out of verbal habit, What exactly are we hiding from?

Michae;'s eyes widened as a sea serpent raced from the depths of the cave at an alarming speed. Almost as soon as Melody grabbed onto the monster's fin she was gone, and soon he would miss his chance. So without hesitation he threw out his hand and grabbed the serpent's fin.

The sudden jolt of speed almost dislocated his arm, and he was gone much faster than he had intended. Soon he was free of the cave, gliding through the deep ocean on a living rocket. He looked up to see Melody with a gleeful look on her face as the water rushed past her. This is so awesome! I should visit the ocean blue more often.

Michael smiled back in response, at an utter loss for words himself. He didn't need to be told twice to admire the scenery, it was simply impossible not to take in the sights. Schools of vibrant fish scurrying amongst the color-splashed coral reef. The might and cool aura of the sharks. The monstrous silhouette of a distant whale, and the eerie call to it's companians. All of this made possible by Melody.

He looked over at the siren, who was gliding through the water on the back of the serpent, obviously having a much easier time holding on than himself. His choice of swimwear wasn't very aerodynamic, and they tugged him back as he glided through the water. He thanked himself for remembering to tighten the waist string.
