Silas used the propulsion of the technique to stand and got into an on guard stance ready to test out his techniques along with learning a few new ones.

lucas performed a string of handseals. suddenly a quick wind picked up behind silas and the sand pushed at his legs. this could cause him to lose his balance. at the same time the wind pushed sand against his legs lucas lunged at silas grabbing the knife on the way.

Rolling into the fall, Silas performed his hand seals and grabbed his scrape saber from his back and ran towards Lucas with the blade arm across his neck and ready to strike or block Lucas' attack.

((hmm. guess i should be counting my chakra. ok... uh... i've... used two jutsu so far. both academy level. what's that leave me with 290 to start with end at?))

just before he would be within reach of a slash from silas lucas would disperse into thousands of senbon and would continue to fly forwards but a few would try to circle around and strike from behind. he aimed for the elbows shoulders ankles and knees. the ones going from the back would aim for his hands and back.

The senbon hit Silas but in reality they did not. Silas had dodged by dodge rolling towards the side and watched as Lucas continued forward. Next Silas performed a string of seals and a thick mist rolled over the desert and Silas backed into the mist and could see as clear as ever due to another jutsu he activated. Silas then threw three kunai with explosive tags on them. One going straight towards Lucas and the other two going in opposite directions that would come around and hit lucas.

-Mougo Shibaku no Jutsu (False Strike Technique)
-Kirigakure no Jutsu (Hidden Mist Technique)
-Kiri Shikaku no Jutsu (Mist Vision Technique)

having been placed in a genjutsu but not knowing it lucas struck the silas of the genjutsu and having struck rose into the air so that the body would go with him. then once at 15' up he removed himself from the silas and remained in the air.

Ganchou wobbled back and forth as they battled around him. Assimilating with the sand of the desert, he simply floated on the breeze as they battle raged below him. Eventually, he drifted back down some and reformed... 80 feet above the ground. Plunging down into the sand a ways from the fight, he would raise a giant mushroom cloud of sand, and make no attempt to get back up. Pretty mushy... he thought, before staring at the sky for a while.

Through the mist the kunai exploded underneath Lucas. Having some of his cover blown Si switched positions and was behind the senbon flock and tried to think of a strategy. Si put his Scrape Saber away and performed more hand seals. The wind picked up immidiatly, even though he may be metal a senbon did not way enough to not be blown in the wind. The senbon swarm would be tossed and turned in this technique as if he were just a simple little bug trying to escape the harsh winds of an opposer's fly swatter. Silas then performed more hand seals in order to create a furious sand storm. One that would not only throw the senbon swarm out of the sky it would also be a start to a chain reaction. Silas would watch as the in the mist the senbon should fall but the harsh winds, sandstorm, and the fake Silas were all in Lucas' mind. Although Si could see everything it was all one giant illusion. But Lucas wouldn't know that! This was probably the first time he had ever encountered a Genjutsu! But Silas performed more hand seals and waited for the senbon to fall.

"knowledge is power..."as the wind seemed to pick up Lucas knew he couldn't keep control in high winds and so reformed slamming into the ground landing on one knee with his fist on the ground and his head down. he was still assimilated and so he would be heavier than normal and the wind wouldn't affect him as much. as he raised his head a sandstorm hit him. lucas just knelt there waiting for the next move.

Lucas had fallen right where Silas wanted him to. Si cast a few hand seals to add on to the seals he had just performed. Underneath Lucas the sand shifted and Silas put his arm out in front of him with his hand slightly closed. The sand started to swirl with a diameter of 10 feet. It would be nearly impossible for Lucas to try and dodge. If Lucas were to jump he would be caught in the wind, if Lucas remained he would surely be swallowed by the sand whirlpool. Silas the put up his other arm and sand started to rise up Lucas' legs, Silas only watched as his opponent would be swallowed by the sand.
