We will allow stuff from every generation, but no worries.
For this RP I will have all profiles sent to Belphegor or I, and we will link each pokemon/town/character in the profiles to their page on Bulbapedia. That way anyone who isn't familiar with said species/city/person can read about them/it if they so wish.

Ok, so what we brainstormed at the meet-up was this:
[if memory serves]
Setting: Johto [because it's connected to Kanto
and that allows for two regions in one]
Characters can be either start up trainers or already
established trainers. We will need a few of each so
battles/contests aren't too slow and introductory.
We can have Trainers/Coordinators/
Breeders.
Main Villains: Team Rocket trying to resurrect itself again.

There are five generations, and pokemon will be accepted from all of them.
Just make sure your character has pokemon that would actually be available to them.
You can't have a kid starting from Johto with the starters from Sinnoh. Nor will there be any wild pokemon not native to the region you're currently in.
(So all wild pokemon will be from generations 1 and 2)

the problem is that between gen 2 and 4 johto got more kinds of wild pokemon...

Etrom has a point.
In HG/SS they have pokemon up to Gen 4.
Why don't we just apply the logic of those games?
You can still only have the Gen 2 starters, but you
Can catch wild pokemon from all generations up
To Gen 4 as long as they can be found in the region
That your character is in.
I know that Serebii.net has a Pokedex for D/P/HG/SS
So we can reference that to see what types of wild
Pokemon would be where.
