Kala Kirya Wow guys, I really like the ideas you're tossing around in here! The psychology bits are really fascinating, I love it! And, as much as I'd love to involve the elements, I think you're probably right about it being too much, robayn... sad As for the co-hosts, I'm curious.... are there going to be co-hosts with an affinity for each of the vice and virtues, or just characters that mix with both? I'm a little unclear. It's still up in the air for right now. We don't have much to work with as far as plot and characterization goes, so it's a bit premature to be doing much of anything with co-hosts at the moment.

broken_bleeding_angel Hmmm When I think of wrath I think of fire. Anf fire can be a comfort too. People back in the olden days used to to warm their homes and cook their suppers. And they would gather around it. Like Hestia from the last ball! xd I guess we just have to make sure it is a violent type of fire.

But there's also the other stuff that comes with fire, like smoke and cinders/embers and such.

Just throwing it out there, editing's totally what I'd like to get involved in under the high probability that I can't be a writer, lilchibiusa. razz I'm currently working on an English Major, and we'll see how that ends up.... heehee.
I also really like the idea of subtly using elements... I think it'd work great, as long as you don't make a huge deal of it.
Oh, and I completely get it about not knowing what's going to be done with the co-hosts yet. I was just curious, I wasn't sure if I'd missed that or not. ^_^

Here is my application for co-host! Username: Red7227 How often are you on gaia: VERY often. like at least once a day often (this is subject to change due to real life issues) Previous experience in the ball:none, just a roleplayer in the 8th annual Why do you want to be a co-host:i think it would be a great way to help in the planning and it also gives me an opportunity to be more social and interact with other users Why should you be chosen for a Co-Host Position: Honestly. i don't know what to put here so ill babble a few things. i am very creative and imaginative and know how to keep a plot going and i can easily change my mood or actions to fit the ones of my character. In three words describe yourself: (This may seem silly but it will help later.): Made of Awesome Will you remain active in the planning process and during the time of the ball:YES!

@Kala - Being an English major was a very fun experience for me. The only part I didn't like was senior seminar. Our topic was Modernism, and that is unquestionably my least favorite period in literature. I hope that you enjoy your courses and do well. biggrin
@Broken - Btw, I've been meaning to ask for a long time now. I noticed back when you sig was still full size that it said Hetalia in the background, but I don't remember England ever looking that good or showing off his undies. I'm a huge Hetalia fan btw. heart

broken_bleeding_angel Hmmm When I think of wrath I think of fire. Anf fire can be a comfort too. People back in the olden days used to to warm their homes and cook their suppers. And they would gather around it. That's true! I forget easily about the positive associations with fire. I really shouldn't though, considering that the negative associations with fire (spiritually) are actually relatively new concepts to history. Back before christianity it was more common in pagan religions to associate fire with life giving energy and a ward against 'evil' (the darkness.) The duel aspect of Fire is definitely a win if it works with the main plot, whenever that gets decided. Kala Kirya I also really like the idea of subtly using elements... I think it'd work great, as long as you don't make a huge deal of it. I like that idea. It could incorporated in all sorts of ways if we look at setting and atmosphere. With broken's thought on the other natures related to fire there's a lot of things we could do. Incence burning, the heat of the location, maybe even steam baths, roaring fires or a sauna heated by coals and volcanic rocks. etc. That'd be a nice way to subtly use it. lilchibiusa I always thought that psychology was mostly a load of BS. Then again, the education methods they teach in education major is even more BS. Even though it's off-topic for me to do so I just have to say that I agree. Though I have all the respect for Psychology as the profession, I had little patience for the classes I took. It felt like too many assumptions based on questionable theories and experiments, with way too many windows of error to be considered 100% infallible. The open-minded nature of sociology was a nice change.

XD But Yes, He does look rather smexy in that. ♥

robayn- ooooh, I love the idea of the surroundings being influenced by the elements. If we WERE to go with the fire and water idea, hot springs sound like they'd be a fun idea... some kind of bonfire party next to a body of water. But we're getting ahead of ourselves again, oops!
I'm just so excited....

Here is my application for co-host! Username: Spottedteddybears How often are you on gaia: During school, once or twice a week for at least 3 hours ( i'll try to sneak on...) Previous experience in the ball: Sadly... none. I'm a first timer... Why do you want to be a co-host: umm... I want to be part of the ball, but again, I'm a first timer so I think maybe a smaller job will fit me better... maybe part of the crew will work better... Why should you be chosen for a Co-Host Position: erm... I'll like to help out with this and I can work well with people given the chance. In three words describe yourself: (This may seem silly but it will help later.): Creative, Hard working, care-free (not a good thing... deadlines don't seem like a lot until it's close enough to smack me it the face...) Will you remain active in the planning process and during the time of the ball:I'll try to but I can't promise that I'll be on every second of the day... I'll sneak on as much as possible and try to keep away from face-smacking deadlines

Like I stated, I want to focus on staffing first then working on plotline and such as I don't know who will be co-hosts at this point so I don't know the strengths.
As for the Tekteks, if you want to do your own then go for it.
Plus, we aren't even supposed to work with the room plot until October 6th when the finalized main ball plot is posted.

XD But Yes, He does look rather smexy in that. ♥ He does, indeed! whee heart The artist was even kind enough to get rid thick eyebrows. xd It would be nice to see England like that in one of the new episodes. lol One of my favorite quotes of all time is actually about psychology: "...a sound intellect will refuse to judge men simply by their outward actions; we must probe the inside and discover what springs set men in motion. But, since this is an arduous and hazardous undertaking, I wish fewer people would meddle with it." --- Montaigne, "Of the Inconsistency of Our Actions" @robayn - I'm not sure if you realized it or not, but you combined fire and water (wrath and patience) perfectly in a happy setting when you spoke of saunas. That image would work very nicely at the end of the plot. biggrin
