Lizzy didn't hesitate to take the offered hand, giving it a firm, friendly handshake before letting go, "Oh, please call me Lizzy - I insist! Elizabeth is a nice name but... A little too classy; it doesn't suit me." She then giggled softly, not wanting the nurse-professor to think she wasn't interested in her class, before shrugging, "I guess my mother thought I would grow up to be a real lady-type when she named me."
She paused; normally she would never reveal such a piece of personal information like that, but... Speaking to this particular demon felt comfortable. Like they were already friends and not speaking to each other for the very first time.
"Your name remind me of spiders, I like that," Lizzy commented with a small smile, straightening up at her desk now that she had gotten the other ghoul's attention, "I'm a Spider Demon - specifically, a Black Widow." As if to prove her point, she pushed her index finger and thumb together, rubbing them together for a second before pulling them apart to reveal a single spider thread hanging between them, the silver thread almost invisible.
"See?"

For a second she paused. Wait who was the nurse talking to, couldn't they clearly see that SHE had more important things to say?
Without even waiting for the person the nurse was addressing to finish - or start talking for that matter - she stood up, arms straight against her sides, chair scraping backwards with a horrible rusting sound. That poor bug that was crawled around her leg probably endured a rather jolting fright: it was a miracle that Spectrae had not noticed it yet. Actually no, not that much of a miracle, come to think about it.
She - well IT smiled, tendrils curling around enthusiastically, which just made it look like the hat was moving around to some unknown wind force.
"Well you see." She/it began, beaming. The nergal paused. Wait, she hadn't prepared herself for this part. What if she was breaking a taboo? "Well," she hesitated, saying it out very slowly, "Are we going to be using... not-bandages?"
Oooh she was so risque, she bet noone else would DARE to ask a question like that!

.... ......... Cricket seemed to frown at the sudden jolt that Spectrae got, pausing to glance at the glowing multi-legged creature that skittered out across the desk after crawling across the demon's belly. It seemed to not give two poops about anybody's personal space there, now did it?
"There are many things required in healing. Bandages are simply the least painful of all these steps, thus there will be some basic lessons in doing other things, such as battlefield stitches." There was a moment when she passed a glance over to Shehk, sho sat up stiffly. Eeeek!
She had this really bad feeling she'd be victimized though.
"We'll start with things that can be fixed with just one's hands and a proper response."

Finally, a course with proper substance to it! Malodore rubbed its long fingers together as it approached the door. It would finally have a chance to display its knowledge, to hone its skills, to... ... The plague doctor blinked as the door swung open. Within were no polished counters, neither pure trays of gleaming instruments nor delicate wafts of sharp disinfectant scent. While it didn't insist on such things - after all, nightmares were made both of sterility and of the opposite, he saw no rotting, blood-soaked gurneys or bandage-swathed nurses either. How... terribly prosiac. Still, best to make the most of it. Malodore slid into an empty seat and sat at attention, tail curling around one leg of the chair. When the passed papers made it around, it took one and stared fixedly at it, then rounded its assumptions down another notch. Clearly caters to beginners. Ah, well.
Make the most of it...A few minutes later, Malodore put down its pen. Really, the questions were nowhere near as detailed as they ought to be.

Israfel's bobbed his head up and down. "Sadly, yes, detention for seeking a date. I bet it's just over how 'she who must not be named'," Israfel looked at the shadows of students. He heard rumors of how the headmistress would 'drop in' on students who spoke ill of her. "Never got an offer. That and free labor. You'd think the gnomes would be enough but my guess is whatever was in that place ate them alive." He shuddered, feathers puffing out.
"If you come by my dorm sometime I can show you how I got my notebook all teathered up. It also is a bad idea to try and rip pages out from them." He held of a hand. Papercuts. "They don't take kindly to it. Even if it's like, a note you need to send to someone or a spit ball you kind of have to make in retaliation. I mean really. My hair is not a nest for wild spit balls!" Hands ran down the purple and blue locks. "Hair is what can make or break a fashion you know."

Arachne watched Nurse Cricket from the corner of her eye, sliding the cards out of sight. Maybe she'd already seen them, maybe not, but she didn't want to risk them being confiscated. She turned her attention back to Elizabeth, keeping her voice low this time as she talked.
'If you really insist, then I shall.' It didn't really mean anything that she used the ghouls nickname, no lowering of the high walls around the spiderkin as yet.
'Of course, it should remind you as I am named after them..I am a spiderkin, I have an affinity with spiders of all kinds.' she watched as Elizabeth produced a fine silken thread 'tween finger and thumb and smiled - a genuine one of pleasure. She stretched out her own finger and gently plucked the strand.
'Wonderful..webs are a power in their own right, such fragile beauty, yet such strength.'

Byagane319 Lilura blinked and smiled to the smaller girl as she corrected her spanish. She blushed a little, more in embarressment than anything else. She should have considered speaking correctly instead of thinking about others things while she spoke. It tended to cause her spanish to be rather incorrect. Tartalo sighed and shook his head in disapproval of his little one. She should be more proud and diligent in her speaking. The scythe turned to the smaller creature and bowed, as best a scythe can do. (this is in spanish, not english) "Pardon my small one, young lady. She tends to forget her pronounciation skills when she is speaking too much english. I have scolded her many times. Allow me to introduce myself. I Tartalo, enchanted Scythe and familiar to my young child here" he nodded. "Hey! I can't help it! English is a second language, and a silly one at that," she frowned at her scythe then turned to Chuppi. "Sorry about the bad grammer. My mother would have a ruler across my head if she had heard that. But it's so nice to see another spanish speaker here! My name is Lilura, what's your name? And, if I might ask, what are you?" (back to english) Lilura waited for the girl to respond. Tartalo also looked to the girl expectantly. Chuppi frowned at the way this girl and her scythe were talking. The Chupacabra did not talk to inanimate objects, and certainly not ones that referred to humans as their 'daughters'. That either meant bad magic was involved to get the person in the object that way or it was a story she didn't really feel like knowing. Either way. . . .
"English is a second language for me too, and I think it's pretty. You should have more respect for the languages those around you speak, you know? It would make us who are native to Spanish look ignorant to talk poorly of others in our native tongue."
Of course, Chuppi spoke in English. They were in a group of people that spoke primarily English, so why would she do any different? Unless it was an emergency and she wasn't paying attention then they'd drop into Spanish, but to hold an entire conversation? A little more than rude.
"Me llamo es Temes."

Tess brought a hand to her mouth to stifle a giggle when Israfel suggested the possible real reason for their head mistress' disapproval of the board. "If the state of that bathroom is anything to go by, the gnomes must be under-qualified for their job." she nodded, resisting the urge to make a face as she recalled being stuck on the sticky bathroom walls.
At his offer of visiting his dorm room, Tess' eyes grew saucer-wide. She was absolutely scandalized at the thought of being in a boil's room, well, one who wasn't related to her. And one whom she just formally met! If the undead could blush, she would have turned beet red at the innocent offer, because it was innocent, right? Tess was just over-reacting, wasn't she? Yes, most likely she was, this was all her parents' ideologies and their ultra-conservative thinking making her feel all the more like some country bumpkin.
"You have very pretty hair, much nicer than mine," she found herself blurting out, partly because she wanted to distract herself from feeling like an awkward, socially inept wallflower, and partly because she did think he had very pretty hair. "They're just probably jealous that they don't have hair like yours."

Sadly, the only thing the nergal registered from Cricket's prompt reply were the words "Bandages" and then "Fixed." Tails swishing excitedly behind her, she leaned as close as possible towards the front of the class: any more and the under-budgeted desk would probably had collapsed under the shift in weight.
The teacher was going to teach stuff! This was so exciting!

Having finished its classwork (such as it was), Malodore sat back and surreptitiously eyed its classmates (such as they were). A motley assortment, but with a few interesting examples among them. It cocked its head in Temes' direction at the faint sound of Spanish being spoken. It couldn't quite name the sub-species of monster... which made her even more interesting.
It could smell the faint taint of blood from here, though.

Believe it or not, Coralie had been listening, though that hadn't kept her from asking a rather annoying question, apparently. Cricket's disapproval didn't seem to bother her, though, and she put her arms behind her head, leaning back a little. Though perhaps Cricket's answer had seemed off putting to some, it only brought a further question from Coralie. "So that's it then? So I can leave now, right?" There really wasn't any point in staying here if they weren't going to learn anything. Socializing was fun, but it was more fun when not done in a classroom wasting her time, in a way.
Wilfred peered his orange eyes around the room, eying the other students and how they were complacently sitting in their seats for the most part. He closed his toothy mouth and puffed it up briefly in disapproval before spitting out at Coralie, "Sit yer hiney down and stop yer whin'in!"
Coralie didn't seem to hear him, but instead waited for Cricket's answer.

Cricket seemed to at least give Coralie's lack-of-backing-off at her bitchiness a slight approval. As fun as it was to be a sadist towards her students, it was nice to get one with a spine every now and then. But only now and then. (It was the ones that made sparkly-eyes at her that really bothered her.... she'd have to watch those two).
"I cannot teach until I know what it is I'll be needing to teach you all. And while I could simply teach you all what you already know, that would benefit nobody. Thus, what I need most from my class is what you have already given me."
She motioned to the sparse papers she'd gotten, seeming to lift a brow at one that was written in what looked like blue crayon, but paying it no more head at that time.
Either way, the ghost waved her hand through the air in a dismissive manner.
"Unless you wish to stay and converse or ask questions on course-material..." she glanced at Spectrae who looked ever so excited at her desk, "you are free to go until next class. However, don't be disappointed if you come back to find that I've done something different before then...."
... .....
And there was that devious grin again, her eyes flashing over to Shehk who seemed to sit up juuUUUuuuussstttt a little bit straighter. Oh Jack. She was gonna die...again. Note to self: Cry like a b***h in secret sometime later today prz.

"I've vowed to kicked, punt, shove, and abuse every gnome I see until I graduate. Little boggers need to do their job..." He mumbled something in latin. It wasn't something nice. Still, he sighed, runs fingers in and out of his hair. "Yes, I do have pretty hair don't?" He was preening now. Making sure each stand was as shiny as the next. That and it was perfect.
Jack forbid he be anything but.
"All my sisters back home loathed my looks. I was most definitely born the prettiest. He did a hair toss. he so loved tossing his hair. Then- Class was over? "Oh." He blinked. "I guess we're free to go. So, want to come to my room? I have this shell comb that would look absolutely fabulous on you. Oh, and we can put your hair up in and style it! Maybe oh! I know just the thing. We can even use the same ribbon so you book bow will match! It will be so cute!" Israfel loved makeovers. Almost as much as himself.
But not that much.

"Oh, thank you! I insist!" The Demon nodded, obviously pleased from the smile on her face. She then looked a little surprised, but that quickly faded to a look of fascination, "A Spiderkin? That explains it - I just naturally felt comfortable around you, more so than when I first met the other students!" She giggled softly when the spider thread was plucked; it tickled when others do it.
"I have to agree," Lizzy commented, pride in her voice as she spoke, "Spider thread might look weak, but looks are deceiving... Its actually very strong - my mother uses it to make clothing that is fashionable and soft to the touch, yet durable at the same time! I am to continue her business when she deems me ready... Although I suppose that won't be for a while."
Grabbing her bag, she stood up, giving the Nurse-Professor a quick bow as thanks; whether she saw it or not didn't matter. To Lizzy, respect for her elders (well, in this case, a teacher) was crucial... She had been taught that since young. Turning to face Arachne again, she smiled, "Well, I hope that affinity with spiders of yours will help us meet up again soon! I have to rush off now to work on a personal project, but I really hope we get the chance to speak again soon!"
She then hesitated for a split second; she really wanted to give the other Demon a quick hug before leaving, but Arachne appeared to be so... Well, prim and proper that it didn't seem like an appropriate move. Deciding against it, she smiled again before turning towards the door and walking away, "I'll see you around!"

. . . .first it was the floor, and now it was one of the desks. Chuppi tried to wriggle herself loose as she felt one of her quills refuse to move, the sharp point stuck into the lower rung of the chair that was supposed to be acting for support. She held onto the corner of the desk and tried to pull herself forward only to feel the wood of the desk start to splinter in her hands (either she was that strong or this place was that cheap), causing the chupacabra to release the sides and slump back into the chair.
Maybe no one was watching her now since most seemed to be leaving to go do something else, not really a huge loss considering Chuppi didn't like standing out in a bad way (this was bad) and maybe once they all left she could try to get out in a more drastic manner. She certainly didn't want to have to have Shehk help her again, even though she was still so thankful for that first time, because Chuppi didn't want others to think she couldn't do anything on her own. She knew being small was hard and she tried hard too, but sometimes it just wasn't enough.
. . .she was still stuck though. No doubt about that.
