Ixen took careful note of the shrine they had followed the flowers to. It didn’t look disturbed by other foxes at all. In fact it looked untouched by anything. It was small but in pristine condition. This was a bit surprising. Why doesn’t it look crumbled?
Ixen turned his head to look at Yuki. He tried not to grin at the look on Yuki’s face, but alas he failed. He merely shrugged in response to the look. He had never noticed the shrine while wandering the forest before.

Yuki glared at Ixen as he saw the grin, huffing at him as he slipped off into the shrine with a snort. "I saw that look." He called out, unable to hide the grin he himself was slowly sporting though. The shrine was light, flames dancing in hollows were sticks laid. It smelled like flowers and pines, a gentle and not overwhelming scent. The male turned, waiting for his mate as he saw a hallway. There was no way he was going in there without his mate.

Ixen trotted after Yuki figuring that by the tone of Yuki’s voice that his mate was just messing with him. Still he wouldn’t spoil Yuki’s fun. He played along even adding a little fake whine in his voice. Sorry I can’t help it. Don’t be mad. Ixen was grinning like a moron though so if Yuki looked the game would be up in no time. Ixen liked the feel of this place it was soothing and gentle, the smells were off the forest and reminded Ixen of the first time he inhaled the sweet smell of Yuki’s fur. The memory of it made Ixen ridiculously happy. It was tempting to pounce on Yuki and smother him with kisses and licks. Only the logical part of his brain that kept reminding him that he was in a sacred shrine of a modeity kept him from doing so. Ixen came up to Yuki and in front of the hallway. They would proceed together.

Yuki didn't turn, instead huffing once more. Ixen could get on his nerves, but in a good way. Wait, how was it good. Oh, he knew what he meant. He...loved Ixen. He loved his jokes and sarcasm and just....everything about Ixen. Still, he deserved the huff he had just given him. When Ixen joined him he gratefully nuzzled the male, padding down the hallway. He could hear soft laughter in the background of his mind.

Feeling Yuki's soft touch only made Ixen want to pounce Yuki more. Ixen blushed. He head Eireen's laughter and though about how he had just been thinking of pouncing Yuki.. in her shrine. Sorry. That was all he could manage to think of saying to her. He struggled to turn his thoughts from Yuki. Finally he focused on this place. What was down the end of this hallway?

Yuki blinked at Ixen, raising an eyebrow but not questioning. He stepped into a room where a large stone rested on a pillar, flames resting on both sides. The stone had light purple markings on it. Yuki moved to touch it, but a loud gasp startled him.
'Please don't touch it! I'm sorry, but please, don't. Can I ask why you two wish to have kits?'

I did apologize.. Ixen was blushing as Yuki looked at him. He turned his attention to the stone. It was pretty but unlike Yuki he didn't reach for it. It didn't seem like the kind of thing he should touch. The modeities words confirmed it. Her question surprised him though.
I want kits because I want to start a family with the fox I love the most in the world. Ixen didn't even hesitate when he said this. It was true Yuki was the most important to him, even over Sin. He knew he and Yuki would be good parents and take care of their kits. He wanted that chance for that to happen.

Yuki jumped as the question was directed at him finally. He paused, thinking it over. Why did he? Because, he wanted a family with Ixen. He wanted to raise kits, to do something right. He wanted to be a good parent, better than his were, and he wanted small bundles of joy. Yes, he knew they would grow up, but he would be happy seeing them grow up healthy and happy. He knew the world have been cruel to him before, but now, he wanted to make happiness for him and Ixen.
'I see, but I want to know something else. When parents separate, it effects the kits greatly. I realize you were raised without much love, and how has it effected you? And you, Ixen, you never knew your true parents, did you? I watched as Sin raised you, did you ever wonder who they were? I want a promise and a beginning from both of you. Promise you will never let these kits know what you two both felt. And, I want you two to think of becoming lifemates, for it seems both of you would benefit from this. It would bring a bond to both of you. However, you do not have to become lifemates, it is merely a thought.'

(pff! I can't believe you brought this up Yush. As if Ixen could tolerate another fox other then Yuki as a mate rolleyes
you have about as much chance of that as you do Sin sprouting wings and turning into Galina the good fairy! ninja If you want them to be life mates I'm good with that *two thumbs up* crackbreeding with other foxes is an option but not one i would use on Ixen. His family tree would get out of hand too fast. sweatdrop )
Ixen thought about it. He had never known his parents. He didn't really miss them because he had Sin as a father figure and that had always been good enough. Now though he wondered.. Did his parents miss him? Had they ever thought about him ever? Did he matter to them at all? His mind whirled with unspoken questions and he understood what Eireen meant. If he hadn't had Sin raise him he would have turned out very different. Maybe even hurt and resentful.
Become a lifemate with Yuki? The thought was a pleasing one for him. He turned to face Yuki and tilted his head questioningly. He would let Yuki decide on that. His mate had a hard life growing up and might not want such a permanent attachment if he found a female who caught his eye later in life. After all he had only started being Ixen's mate because a farce they had to put on for the tribe. It had gone further but did Yuki want it to go further yet?

Yuki didn't answer right away, glancing away. Was he ready to commit himself to one person, only one person, and a male at that? He loved Ixen, he trusted him and wanted no one else but him. Hell, he wanted kits with him! But was he ready? The male didn't meet Ixen's gaze, eyes flicking to glance at the stone walls, fangs biting his lips. Oh deity.... what was he supposed to say?
'It was merely a though, Yuki. I understand if you are frightened of stepping forward, you should speak this over with your mate sooner or later. My last question, who would want to bear the kits? We all know storks don't bring kits.'

Ixen watched how Yuki wouldn't look at him. Did he not want to be life-mates? Was it something Ixen did? suddenly what Eireen said washed away all thoughts he had. Ixen blinked... which one of them would what? He swallowed. He hadn't thought about this. Would carrying growing kits hurt? How would they be deviled? Would they be ok with him or Yuki because of their positions in Cruor. After all their job positions might require both Ixen and Yuki to be moving, and wouldn't that jostle the kits?
His face paled.

Yuki wasn't afraid. He wanted to be a parent. Somehow, he wanted to be closer to Ixen. His kits, their kits. What if he carried them? Unlike Ixen, it did not freak him out. Pain didn't scare him, having been abused as a kit until pain became second nature. Yes, he was afraid of screwing up, but for once, couldn't he try?
Yuki stepped forward after noting Ixen's face, gently nudging his mate. "Can I?" He questioned gently.
'If your mate is okay with it, then yes.'

Looking at Yuki Ixen could only nod. It was ok with him. Besides Yuki might be a better 'mother' for the kits. Ixen was normally fine with kits but all of a sudden the idea of having them be his kits worried him.
What if they get sick? What if they fight? Kits don't always get along but I don't want them to grow up hating each other. What if they don't like me or Yuki? What if... What if? Why were there so many what ifs? ... I might need to speak with Sin or track down my own parents and have a little chat...

(( I paid for the kits. Since it was a bribe, we are getting six wether or not our rp's are finished. What names do you like? Also, I cannot rp the Higher Beings anymore until they are official, so how about we time skip into a few days later? It's offical, they are having kits, so why not have Yuki tell Ixen he is pregnant?))
