Reaching a hand up to pull the loose locks of hair behind her ear, as she cleared her vision to look back over at the older Rocket. She smiles at his question, and as she spoke, it was clear this was more then something she was good at, this was her passion. "I'm a robotics engineer, with skills in mechanics" she answered.

"I don't suppose you do things with AI? When I think of robots, that's one of the first things that come to mind." He shifted slightly on the couch so he could look her in the eyes. "Are there a lot of rockets who work with robotics? Oh man, I sound like I'm a hermit away from the rest of the rockets." He chuckled.

her smile grew a little weak at his last statement. "its easy to recognize faces, but I'm not familiar with very many Rockets, not as many as the other seem to be anyway, one gets pretty busy." Moving her attention over when Absol shifter up onto the counch behind Faleen, his black and red eyes staring down at the cousins with a look of fascination, as if he's never seen something like that before... Faleen would know he hasn't. She let him move around and get comfortable, before laying down, Turing back to Mau. "I've only just started really taking an active effort in studying AI, that has to do more with programing then the actually constructing of robotics. I could build anything, wire it, and program functions that allow for remote control. But AI, I must admit, is significantly more complicated then that" Not that she was going to give up on it, it was something she definitely planned on learning, she had been elated to have the opportunity to look through that AI book Hayes has lent her, that certainly sparked even more of a hunger to understand it. "I've met the Robotics team once, there wasn't that many in it, but enough to be a good working team. I've been down in the tech department a couple of times, to run errands mostly"

Mau smiled at her. "You'll meet more in time." He reached out to pat her shoulder, forgetting a moment he couldn't extend his left arm. So he shifted-awkwardly- to pat her shoulder with his right. "So do you spend all your time in the robotic departments? Or training in the gyms?"

Glancing at his hand when he gave her a reassuring pat, it was Umbreon that gave the man a cautious look when he reached out to touch his master, the look was the only thing he did though, remaining at Faleen's feet. "I haven't been permitted into the robotics division... I'm still working my way up to that." She gave a sheepish grin, and a shrug before she moved on to something else. "I train a lot, figure there is a lot I need to catch up on" noticing the way he had to move to pat her arm, she looked down at the cast, cocking her head to the side a little before speaking "I hope you don't mind me asking, but what happened to your arm?"

"Mmm, yeah, if you only just started tra- My arm?" He blinked. "Ah, well, was on the last raid." He knew the raid's track records. Just mentioning being on one probably made most grunts shiver. "From what I hear, I got off pretty lucky as far as the raids go. Have you been on any of the raids before?"

She blinked at him when he said it was from a raid, but to be honest, she wasn't surprised, thats how most Rockets got wounded it seemed. She couldn't help but laugh, his statement was true, getting away with just a broken arm, while painful and inconvenient, was actually not that bad. "Yes I have, it was the greatest failure of my life, and I learned a lot from that experience" and she got a nice ugly scar to show for it as well. "I didn't know there was another mission, it was recent? how did it go?"

All he did was smirked, and gave her a thumbs up. "No one died. I suppose that's all one needs to know, right? I have a sneaking suspicion that it was just a ruse of a mission though. It seems most of us there were either fairly new, or inexperienced." He remembered how hush hush it was -oh hind sight. So no more details on that.
"Your greatest failure? Dare I ask what happened?"

"So seems to be the trend, I suppose thats something we all need to work on for missions, we've had a bad run so far. I'm very glad we haven't added any death's into the team yet." tilting her head she gave him another quiet grin "I disobeyed and order from Commanders Seth and TRP, caused some confusion for Seth and I when we got separated from the others. as I said, I've learned a lot from that experience" She didn't seem bothered talking about it, speaking as normally as she had been, its something she's accepted, and learned from.
"so, you mention you work in the labs. what kind of projects do you work on? you mentioned exploding fish?"

Mau nodded. She was a very down to earth girl. And she was pleasant to talk to. An the fact that she gave the infamous Seth hell made him grin.
"Ah, I work with inherent abilities mostly. Genetic engineering. Not quite hand in hand with the cloning department. The fish... er. That's what got me transferred here in the first place."

"Inherent abilities." she repeated, tilting her head to the side, intrigued. "Admittedly this is where I get a little lost. what does that change, I'm assuming for pokemon? like changing what kind of moves or abilities they can use?" this is what she assumed anyway, she understood that she could be completely wrong. "... like a golden that uses self district?"

"Actually it was magikarp and explosion" he mumbled quickly "but that's basically it. I've been working on why it is pokemon can only learn some moves. Why they're not able to learn everything. Though there are things that I can understand, such as you wouldn't really expect a magmar to be able to surf. They'd extinguish themselves. Unless they could summon a wave of magma."

"That sounds like something Rocket would be able to use, potentially very dangerous, no wonder they are funding your science." She had an impressed look on her face. "Oh, Magikarp... those are even more useless." she shrugged " Its the first step, at least with Rocket you can take those steps."

Mau nodded. "Sadly, I's quite hard to create a.... stable subject. For some reason the genetic material of the clones seem to deteriorate when I start messing with them. I suppose I'll be hitting that issue again when I'm back in the labs."

She smiled softly at this, thinking about what he explained, and wondering if a solution would be found someday. She didn't understand a lot of it, but he sounded like he knew what he was doing. Looking down at Umbreon, who was sitting up again. Faleen reached down to pull the balls from her thigh, taking a moment to return both her Umbreon and Absol. "Good luck with your work, it sounds like you have a lot to do"
