Riki was always up for a party. Although he was usually the one throwing them, he always made a point to seek out shindigs run by others as well. Besides, it was nice to get to enjoy a party where he didn't have to do any of the work setting up! Unlike Umber, who'd found his little secluded spot down by the beach, Riki headed right for the throngs of activity, his toothy familiar floating along behind. He hoped they had skittles somewhere!

As he smoothly negotiated the groups of chatting demons, nodding politely to any who made eye contact, he made mental notes of the layout, decorations, and food selection, silently judging as he always did. He never openly criticized anyone else' events, but he was always comparing them to his own, and looking for ways to improve, as well as new ideas.

Watch out, here comes the socialite. XD

Once again caught off-guard by so many questions, Asgard had to pause again and consider which he needed to answer first. "Graviton crystals: emit mild gravitational pull to keep limbs and torso connected," he answered. "Only crystals float." He had to admit he was not entirely sure how to answer the question about him being "broken" - technically, he could be considered such since his body was held together in pieces, but at the same time, he technically wasn't broken because he would not be functional otherwise. Both explanations would probably only confuse the youngling. "Asgard: not broken," he answered simply and hoped that was good enough.

A growl from Newt's stomach signified the end of her demon watching. She knew there was food to be found at the party. It was just the thought of having to pretend to be nice -and sane- that caused her to pause. But there would be no stopping the incessant growling until she ate. And in order for that to happen, she would just have to suffer company. Unless....she could find someone to distract the other demons while she made off with a meal.

That idea had Newt grinning as she glanced around the outskirts of the party, trying to find a demon worthy enough of the task. It couldn't be just anyone. She was particular after all. And had very specific tastes. When her eyes fell on a cream and chocolate demon not far off from her she couldn't help but grin. He was watching the throng before him with a mixture of annoyance and despair. Perhaps he was no more of a social butterfly than she was. That, however, would not stop Newt from tossing him to the wolves.

She stood, shaking the sand off as she crossed the beach to stand in front of him, blocking his view of the party. Only when he looked up did she finally speak, her voice nothing more than a whisper, as if they were plotting something entirely evil. Which she was.

"You seem just as thrilled as I am to be here. But I want something to eat. You must want it too, or you wouldn't be here. What do you say we work together to get in, get food, and get out before anyone tries to socialize."

The last word saw Newt shuddering at the very thought.

Razuku sped as fast her little legs would move in the direction of the tables of food. She remembered to keep her wings tucked in so she could dodge around bodies without slapping anyone with her armored wings. She'd been grounded from everything the last time she was 'on a mission' and her failure to even attempt to avoid bodies caused injury to others. Razuku was not about to let that happen again.

Skimming past a black and white demon with butterfly wings, Razuku skidded to stop by a table with whipped cream topped pies and colorful iced cupcakes. Reaching out and snagging a couple of cupcakes in her black claws, the dark blue youngster stuffed one in her mouth. Glancing around guiltily, Razuku was ready to defend herself if someone said she couldn't have the sweets. Seeing no one paying attention to what she was doing, she happily stuffed the other cupcake in her mouth. Reaching for another, Razuku was glad that the sweets at this party weren't limited like at home. Something about 'bouncing off the walls' her mother would say.

“That sounds like a fine idea,” said Shroom. From her vantage point fluttering above the others, the mini demon could see the array of choices of food and drink over the heads of the other winis. Shroom was hoping to find a table with 'aged drink' which might help her friend relax a bit and have fun.

Dream Shade still felt a little surprised that, not only was this demon they'd just met, not running away, but he was even talking to her like she looked like any other demon. And he 'smiled' at her. Dream Shade lifted her a head a bit more, letting her hair fall from her face. Not having any facial muscles to smile back with, she nodded at the colorful demon.

Despite her rambling chatter Shroom was more aware of what Dream Shade was doing than she let on. The mini demon knew better than to try to force interaction between the skull faced demon and others. She was glad to see her shy friend warming up to the colorful wini. “I do believe I see an open table just over there.” Fluttering backwards in the direction of the food, she asked, “Shall we?”

[[OOC: Sootsayer speaks in bold since he has a hard time understanding the concept of an indoor voice.]]

Two winiko approached the gathering and proceeded to meander along the outskirts of the group.

The flamboyantly dressed green Winiko pranced lightly, clip clopping along the ground. Being in the inbetween made him feel young again and this in turn made the elder want to skip and dance. The Soothsayer was excited to be around this many Winiko. "Finally, arrival." When was the last time he was here? The old fool was nearly giddy. "Can you feel it Courl?" Soothsayer scanned the crowd wondering where to go first.

Coulrophobia meekly followed the elder ahead of her. She was afraid of losing him in the crowd. Despite being an adult Coulrophobia rarely left her home (and this in turn has done wonders for her social skills). The rotting Winiko's senses were dull. This was especially true for her slowly fading eyesight (Thank goodness for seeing eye flowers. Those totally are not awkward). Her family was concerned the flighty girl would lose her way and never return home. Especially with the nitwit that had dragged her here that Coulrophobia was currently following. "I... I feel that we are late." She shrugged not understanding what he was going on about now. "You shouldn't go feeling these willy-nilly things. It's weird."

The Soothsayer halts his merry movements and snorts in agitation. "It is not weird."

Erudite nodded back to Dream Shade, and smiled up at the fluttery little demon. "Awesome. How about you and Dream Shade go snag it and I'll get food for everyone from the... buffet? So as to kill two birds at once, so to speak...?" He began to move across the crowds, towards the table and were the food was. "Or one of you could get food, but I thought perhaps it would be the gentlemanly thing for me to do?" He glanced back at them as he moved, treating them entirely as his equals.

Loki sighed and stood. It was time to... try to mingle. It'd been a while since he'd done that, too... He really should get out more, he noted to himself. He looked over the crowd, and noted a brown Wini with dragonflyish wings and purple eyes off to one side, talking to a familiar and... was that music he played? It seemed to be so. He made his way over, curious as to what the pair was doing. "Hello there..." The elder tilted his head, looking at the two.

Aurianna, meanwhile, frowned a little, her lovely tail lashing, then spotted... Something colorful. Hmmm. She watched the rainbow haired demon moving through the crowd, and tilted her head. He reminded her vaguely of something... Oh right, Love-a-Lot had said something about a demon with rainbow hair being the father of that bright boy Acid Dusk. Hmmm. Coincidence? Possible. She had no idea. What she did know was he was close, sort of interesting looking, and she wanted something to drink and eat. "You... With the rainbow hair there..." Her tone was demanding of attention, and she stared right at him. "Bring me something to drink, and a snack." She stopped, then remembered she was TRYING to be nice these days. "Please?"

Hawthorne continued to watch the party, his tail flicking in annoyance behind him and his chin resting on his forelimbs. At that moment his stomach gave a rather noisy growl, causing him to offer a soft growl of his own, this one full of aggravation. Yes, he was aware that his stomach was hungry. However his brain and stomach were not in agreement when it came to satiating said hunger. No, not at all.

Suddenly he was in the shade. Wait, that couldn't be right; he was absolutely certain that he wasn't anywhere near a tree. Never mind that, well, shade simply didn't just appear and the sun, from what he knew of the world, didn't simply jump from one position from another.

Slowly he looked up, staring at the female before him and seeming to slump a little. He should have known better than to simply stay in one spot. Of course he would be spotted and the decision of whether or not he should interact or not would be decided for him. How... Unfortunate.

Hawthorne stared at the female for a long moment before he lifted his chin in defiance; he didn't have to do anything for anyone. "Why should I help you?"

User ImageUmber had been giving Sepia ideas about how he could help with the painting as he swept smooth brush strokes across the canvas. One good thing about an eternal sunset, he didn't have to worry about the lighting changing. The familiar had finally picked a good cd to put in, it was one of his human's favorite groups, Days of the New, sadly now disbanded. The current song Loki would be hearing upon arriving was 'Dancing with the Wind'. Soothing music, yet slightly disturbing lyrics. Perfect for any self-respecting demon. Umber swayed his head along happily as he painted, his familiar bobbing up and down to the beat as well.

"Dancing with the wind, where the fire burns and the water drowns
Simmer endless sin to a judgement call or not at all
Do you hear them sing?
Bloodthirsty again
..."

Sepia noticed the approaching elder before Umber did, and made small displeasing sounds. He knew Umber didn't like to be disturbed while he was making his art. Hearing his familiar being distracted brought him back to 'reality', and he looked over, spying Loki. He forced himself to be calm, and held a paw up to Sepia to get him to calm down, too. After all, this was a social event he was attending, and it wouldn't do to be impolite. "Hello to you as well," he replied, nodding. "What can I do for you?"

While not an exact address, 'Riki was pretty sure he was the one being talked to. There was only one other rainbow demon here that he'd spied, and he didn't have rainbow hair. Despite the tone being very demanding, he looked over anyway and found that indeed, he was being stared at. As she finished her demands, even with a rather poor attempt at a 'please' at the end, he smiled graciously. He knew these types well, and as someone who was a host quite often, he never let them get under his skin.

"Why of course, m'lady," he replied, with a slight bow. "What tastes does your obviously refined palate prefer?"

Aponi smiled warmly at the pair of Winiko, pleasantly returning the attention they paid her with her own. "Why, thou dost flatter me, mine new friends! Forsooth, thou art both lovely ladies as we--" Her eyes widened momentarily, interrupted by the bouncing table. "Oh goodness..."

Dyani, while reluctant to socialize with other Winis due to her shyness issues, oddly did not extend that hesitation to other matters of bravery. A funny look on her face, she crept over to the table, poking her head underneath without hesitation. What tension she had quickly relaxed. "Oh, you."

"SQUEAK!" Kaliska jumped and whirled towards Dyani, falling on the floor and clasping her paws over her head. A few moments passed before she parted her claws and peeked out at the other Wini. "...Dy...ani...?" she squeaked in a soft whisper.

"Yeah, yeah, it's me," Dyani rolled her eyes in exasperation, flopping down on her haunches with the tablecloth hanging over her head. "Just what in the world do you think you're doing under there?"

Gypsy blinked at the pair of elders before slowly smiling. She couldn't help it. They were interesting. Specially 'grandpa' there. "Tee hee. Fogies." It was a silly word that she'd heard her human use once when talking to Kodran. "I like you old fogies." She responded, and couldn't help but idly try to sniff them, to become familiar with their scent. Grandma smelled... kind of salty. Like the sea. It was a pretty nice smell! Grandpa? He smelled a lot like cheap booze and microwave pizza. She bounced a little more. "Who was the cute kid with you?" She glanced around a little before hooking her claw onto a cloth that had been laid out with some food, and drug it closer to the elders before she plopped down on her butt and snatched something vaguely sandwich like.

"A moving table?" The kitten like demon looked over in time for a pretty red butterfly to flutter past her nose. Sakit was struck by her notoriously short attention span. She was beaming at the pretty elder and her new friend one moment, the next, she had gotten distracted by the butterfly. She didn't even think about if it was one of the pretty wini-lady's butterflies. Her kitten-drive kicked in and she just had to chase it. She raced off after it, leaping over one demon and skittering around a table of food. She wasn't paying attention to where she was going, running right towards an unsuspecting Day.

Kodran nodded, the faintest of muscle twitches pulled at his lips as though he were smiling. "A lovely name." He said politely. "A lively house hmm? I suppose it does wear thin sometimes with the constant noise or bickering. But it is home. Though with the woods around our home, it's not far to go to find a place to nap that's peaceful. Besides, being bigger then most of the others, it is not hard for me to lay down the rules." He was about to say more when he saw Sakit racing around like a hyper kitten on catnip.

Day was happy, looking at all the winiko who were showing up to the party; it kind of made her feel groovy. She lazily chewed on the plant which she held loosely between her teeth. She decided there were enough people here to show off the first of the plants she had brought from deep within the InBetween. She cleared her throat and opened her mouth to speak, when orange paws suddenly began tromping through the pudding she had before her. The orange slug wini was leaping at the butterfly which was taunting Sakit juuuuuuust out of her reach. The orange female put her pudding covered front paws on Day's face to try and get up a little higher to snap at the butterfly.

"UGH! This does not fly with me, little kitty." Day half snapped and pushed the girl away. Sakit still made an attempt to get the butterfly before Day picked up a flowered plant and began to smack at Sakit with it.

User Image

Sakit squeaked and covered her head as the flowers were flailed all over her. Satisfied that the girl had calmed down, Day cleared her throat again. Using one paw she gently groomed herself before speaking.

"So we have this special plant from deep in the InBetween. You know these pesty little toys that follow us about?" She gestured idly to Sky who protested being called pesty. "Well, this Soulspring lets us call a second one to torment!"

Speaking of Kanika, Kayin straightened a little and peered through the crowd. He spotted the little demon pestering others but still within sight and settled back in with a chuckle. "Hmmm... the runt's with me, she's our daughter. The amusing part is that little midget is your aunt!" He happened to find this funny.
Watching Gypsy drag over the food, Kayin smiled in approval. That was the original reason he had shown up after all! He was hungry too, this food looked much better than the microwave stuff around the warehouse.
"Arent I the luckiest old guy here.. to be enjoying such good food in such beautiful company!" He looked at Vienna, obviously sincere in his feeling for her, then tipped a quick wink at Gypsy before grabbing a roll with a sharp claw.

Kanika sat back on her haunches and looked closely at the gravytons that were Asgard's knees as he answered her questions. He was like talking to a computer thing that had to process the answers... maybe like that google thing her human used! You put the question in then it found the answer!
"Aww too bad you don't float. Or fly. That would be a neat robot super power!" She said matter of factly, poking a tiny claw at his armored leg.
"I'm glad you aren't broke Asgar. You're neat!" Suddenly she jumped back up, struck with a new thought. "Do you eat food?" she asked, skipping around him to look up at the table he had been standing near.

Vienna snorted softly with laughter, ruffling her fins and reaching after Kayin to snag a clump of grapes from the table. She delicately popped one into her mouth, watching Kanika in the distance with a broad grin.

"It does make me feel old," she said after a moment, head tilting to the side as she looked up at Kayin, "Though as long as this coat stays free of gray hairs I guess I'm okay." She laughed, stretching her body out across the blanket and acting like this space-hog she was. "Are you the only one, or do you have siblings?" she asked, tail curling up around her back legs.

Armada smirked at his comment, brow quirking slightly. "We live on the beach," she replied, wings fanning out, "Though half of the house practically lives in the water, you have to walk quite a ways to find someplace quiet." She rolled her eyes, then suddenly caught sight of Sakit running as well. "What's gotten into her?"
