Heliosyne was already wandering around the path, curious as to what lay down it. "No, she'll be fine," he shook his head. "We can stay if you wish, it is just a preference of mine. I suffer more from the heat than from being heckled by the night's creatures." He paced along the worn road, looking back and forth between his companions. "It doesn't matter to me. Whatever you wish.

Arya cocked his head to the side, "hey why are we listening to the human anyway? She's the one wanting to travel into our lands lets keep going."

"Yes I think I'd rather keep going as well I would like to make it to the river by morning."

She picked up her blade staff and walked down the path, following behind Arya.

Cyranis snorted disdainfully at the male, growling, "She is our guest. That is why we ask her. Regardless, since we are all in agreement, let us go." With that he began to trot along, making it a point to stay next to the other male instead of in front of him.

The female came running back, taking residence next to Arya's other side. She looked him up and down, wondering briefly why he wasn't as bright as Cyranis.

They traveled quickly as Miko had to run to keep up with the Da'Tiki's long strides. She didn't mind however, she was curious of this new and strange land. Glow bugs fluttered in and out lighting up little spaces between the leaves of the trees. It was a peaceful night she thought as the underbrush crunched with the landing of each new stride.

Soon the glow of the bugs faded as did Cyranis's glow as the morning sun began to shimmer through the canopy. Up ahead Miko could see the river.

"Wow we made it, and the sun is beginning to come out. I think it's best time to start to hunt. How about we break off into small groups. I'm going to hunt along side the river here, maybe catch some fish."

She licked her lips fish was a rare delicacy were she came from there were hardly any, her family mostly hunted small animals and harvested their own vegetables.

Arya's ears perked up slightly. He was mildly tired from all the running around and most likely hungry. He could use a good nap in the morning sun he thought. However, the human had mentioned something about fish, and he was pretty sure that was something you could eat.

"I guess I could hunt now Miko." He said, listening to her requests as she was there guest as Cyranis pointed out. He had a lot to learn, it made him feel so ignorant, almost upset.

Cyranis must be older than he looks, he knows so much, and he's been to lake Ha'tooka. I've never even been out of these woods. Arya thought to himself.

"So you want us to break into groups?" He looked weary at the idea, but seizing the opportunity to possibly find out more about the human he succumbed.

"How bout you and me Miko? We can hunt together, and Cyranis and Heliosyne can hunt together. Then we'll all meet back here, I guess?" he looked at the Cyranis and Heliosyne.

For once, Heliosyne didn't seem interested in chasing the glowbugs. She stayed steadfastly by her companion's side, letting a big yawn escape her maw every once in awhile. Cyranis may have been nocturnal, but she wasn't. By now, both Di'taki's bellies were rumbling hungrily. Twitching her ears forward, she could hear gurgling, but didn't make the connection that they had come across the river.

Cyranis, however, knew exactly what was coming. He could see the sun's rays beginning to pierce the ever-thickening trees, sending eerie shadows running across the ground. He could feel his body tiring in the sun's presence. What he wouldn't've done for a nap...But he could feel the gaping hole in his stomach where food should've been, and apparently everyone else was hungry as well.

He wrinkled his nose at the thought of fish - smelly, slippery and disgusting. "I will go into the forest and find some more...delectable food, if you don't mind." Peering over to the other male, he considered his proposal. Truth was, Heliosyne had already disappeared into the brush, and he was fine hunting by himself. But this human was his charge - would he trust her with this stranger? Cyranis looked up into the human's eyes, waiting for her confirmation.

Miko eyed Arya, she didn't trust him as much as she did Cyranis. However, she couldn't pass up the opportunity to hunt some live fish.
"Alright then, Arya and I will hunt together. We won't travel far from this spot, we are merely fishing." She eyed the stream and could already see some jumpers, coming out for some morning bugs.

"Don't worry Miko, I'm a really good fish hunter, see these teeth bones around my neck, they're from the big fish at Lake Hatama. Which, you seemed to have bypassed on your journey." He looked at them puzzled.

Miko laughed at him, he sure was trying hard to make up from their first encounter.
"Come on lets travel a little down stream where the current slows, we'll be able to catch some fish as they travel downward." She rolled her eyes at Cyranis and turned to start her hunt.

Cyranis couldn't help but feel a bit nervous as they began to move down river. But it was her decision, was it not? He hissed and shook his head rapidly before going off into the brush.

It was a strange thing. Just yesterday, he had met Heliosyne, and today he had run into a human and two other Di'taki. Never before had he run into so many individuals in such a short time, and he'd never seen a human at all, especially one like Miko. The male inhaled the deep scent of the forest, relishing the relative dark of the forest as opposed to the path. His ears were whirling around like little radars, listening for any sight of life. It would take awhile, but he would succeed.

Heliosyne, meanwhile, had stumbled head first into a tasty berry bush. She quickly set herself to gnawing on the bush, twigs, leaves and all, the pack situated between her claws. Tasty berries, nom nom...

The water was cool on Miko's tired feet from the travel. Arya suprisingly waded into the river carefully, she thought he would jump right in seeing his antics on their travels thus far, running around, scratching trees, barreling through bushes.

"Don't want to scare the fish," he whispered.

Miko looked back at him perplexed. She had thought the Di'Taki especially the males were violent. She did see that he liked to wrestle. Although, Cyranis did not. She was surprised that she had encountered two males on her journey, and what role did Cyranis play in the Di'Taki lands, was he a boarder patrol? Was that why he was so far out when she had met him? What about Heliosyne was she a wanderer? Is that how Cyranis came across her?

That human is lagging behind, is she looking for fish or daydreaming, she sure thinks a lot, Arya thought.

"Hey, Miko, over here! A whole school I'm going to nab a few!" He slung his claws and face into the water, having 10 eyes it was easy to spot at least 6 fish at a time, and his hand eye coordination was up to par since he had been training with the elders to be a hunter.

Careful, slowly, snap! He shot out of the water with fish dangling from his hands and his mouth.

Miko startled at the sight he looked ridiculous a fish was even hanging from one of his ears!

She laughed, "Good catch, better bring those ashore, I'll catch us some more." She turned further down the stream.

Heliosyne, having gotten her fill of berries, began to meander back towards the river. She carried the pack in her jaws still, bounding back through the bushes. Upon reaching the river, she could see no one else in sight, but thought nothing of it. She had half-forgotten them already. Instead she dropped the sack by the edge of the river and began to play, swimming and rolling around in the clear water like a child.

Meanwhile, Cyranis had nabbed him a moderately-sized rabbit, after quite a chase. Panting, he came back upon the female, plopped down by the riverside, and began to chew through his meal. Much, much better than fish, if he did say so himself!

Arya had come back to the bank with 5 fish, the one in his mouth he couldn't help but devour right away. He watched as Miko speared a couple good sized fish. He looked at his own in his hands. Ya, mine are bigger, silly human, he thought, as he watched her and munched right through the bones of the fish. It was a pretty good sized river, he was on the opposite shore of where they said they would meet, but they had to cross it anyway. Yes those fish were tasty, he rubbed his belly, now to find a good tree to climb he thought to himself as he surveyed the nearby forest and proceeded in that direction.

The fish shimmered beneath the water their scales as brightly colored as her new Di'Taki friends, well besides Arya he wasn't as brightly colored as her first companions. She aimed her spear high and slash, right through two fish. That was good enough for her. She didn't want to push her luck, and she would be sure to make an offering for this pleasant find. Turn some of the bones into jewelery as well. She stood in the middle of the river, and ate her fish raw, tying the bones to her spear to dry out.

Then she noticed the fish were scattering. "Uh, well there goes any luck of finding more!" She said aloud and looked around as to what had frightened them. Heliosyne had jumped into the river and was swimming around just like the fish!

"I didn't know they could swim?" She dove under the water and surfaced near her. "Heliosyne, she laughed, you're scaring all the fish away!" She ruffled her head feathers. She had never touched something so soft, the Adahy feathers were more hard rough, but these were downy, like a new born goose.

Nara had been swimming as well that morning, actually she had swam all the way down from Lake Ha'tooka. It wasn't that far she told herself, if she wanted to be boarder patrol she'd have to start now! She saw objects up ahead of her under the water, she swam faster towards them. One had to be another Di'Taki, the other was too small, perfect practice for boarder enforement! She swam up to the female first, she was so bright her feathers flickered in the sunlight.

"Hellooo, she giggled, what's your name?" She rubbed noses with the female. Not noticing the human.

Heliosyne chortled as the human petted her feathers, clearly reveling in the attention. Wait, who was that? Her eyes opened to see another Di'taki, their noses touching. Arya? No, this one smelled different. Female? She gave her characteristic grin and quickly replied, "Heliosyne." She lashed her tongue out, licking the other's nose in greeting.

Cyranis, by this point, had mercifully dozed off. If he hadn't, he might've panicked when the other female made her appearance.

Nara returned the lick that the other female gave her. "Heliosyne, ooo that's a pretty name, it reminds me of the sun." She splashed around the other female. Turning to Miko, and who are you, and what is your buisness?" Nara felt she was doing a good job practicing boarder patrol.

Miko starred wide eyed, two females now! How amazing! It looked similiar to Arya she noticed, maybe it's his sister? She thought. "My name is Miko, and I'm here exploring, I'm headed to the deep woods to learn more about the Di'Taki. I come from the human camps, and have listened to the stories that the Adahy tell of you. I don't believe them so I came here to find out for myself.

Nara scoffed, "Adahy huh? You sure you're not a spy of the Adahy, she swam around Miko. Heliosyne do you believe this Miko?"

Arya had found a really big tree in which he had climbed to the top and was now perched on a branch with a few Salocks. They were calling at something as they usually do, so he didn't really pay much attention, he just sat in the tree and looked up at the clouds, thinking of wrestling and other things.

Heliosyne giggled and returned the splash, nodding vigorously when she mentioned whether she trusted the human. Waddling over to Miko awkwardly, she rubbed her head against her soft, weird-furred hand. Pet meee~, she seemed to say, though she said nothing until she looked back at the newcomer. "Name?

Miko was surprised at how friendly Heliosyne was, she really enjoyed the female Di'Taki. She petted her soft fluffy feathers and swam around her playfully, splashing her and making waves.

Nara looked at the two. "Oh, forgive me! My name is Nara, I forgot to say my name first, ah I have failed my boarder patrol duty! Good thing I'm still in training, she laughed. So where are you two headed?

We're headed to the deep woods, Miko said. There are actually two more in our party. Two male Di'Taki. They are around here somewhere, she looked around, but actually couldn't see either of them.

Arya had gotten bored of the tree, climbed down and headed back to the shore. He looked across but could only make out specs of Miko and Heliosyne, he decided to run up and down the shore line for fun, maybe get them to hurry up at whatever was occupying them.

Heliosyne returned the waves, bouncing in and out of the water chaotically on her long legs. She could hear something in the distance...she had no idea what it was, although other Di'taki would've identified it as the clacking of claws on rocks. Turning she could see a faint dot zigging back and forth along the shoreline. "Arya!" She chirped, pointing at the spec awkwardly with her nose. At least, she assumed it was Arya.

"Border patrol?" Her head swiveled back to the other female. What was a border? And why does it need patrolling?

Cyranis could hear the clinking of Arya's claws as well, snapping him out of his shallow sleep. He perked his ears in irritation, peering down towards the other male with his eyes narrowed. Was it really that difficult for him to just sit still? After awhile, though, he began to doze again, becoming used to the noise.
