"are you worried about the fog?" Amaidi chuckled a bit and leaned forward licking the top of his snout. 'gah! where in the world did that come from?' she thought. Outwardly she appeared the same calm and bubbly nature she liked. "Dont worry I know my way around here front and back, there is no way I could get lost. See over there in that path where the smell of heather is the strongest just behind that bend the path goes down into a cove that over looks the ocean. Over there where those three mounds are is the path back to the forest.

"I will take your word for it," Mercury said, chuckling. Really, as a traveler his sense of direction was quite terrible. It didn't help that his mind was distracted by the physical contact Amaidi had initiated.
"Should we leave before it reaches us, or will we stay longer?" Actually, he wouldn't be too adverse to staying the night in the area, as long as there was somewhere to bed down.

"Well if you dont believe me I'll show you." Amaidi mock pouted before moving in front of him smiling. "This way, this way. Dont worry the sun wont go down just yet, it may seem like it but the fog comes in at random moments all over the day." she said careful to keep him in sight. After all he was in an area he had no clue about and he had told him she was under his care, that meant she had to look after him.

Mercury smiled good-naturedly as Amaidi trotted off in front of him. "Of course I believe you. Weather can make fools of us sometimes though."

"that is true... its also why I took precautions in case I ever got lost in the fog by creating a small little shelter in the cove down there." Amaidi chuckled.

"Have you ever had to use it," Mercury asked. He was glad Amaidi had flares of bright red fur; it made her easier to see, as the fog was just starting to wash over them.

Amaidi slowed down a bit to keep up with mercury so he wouldnt get to lost in the fog. She tilted her head to the side thinking about it. "well because I couldnt find my way out, but I have stayed the night there just watching the moonlight on the waves." amaidi answered.

"Are we going there, or somewhere else," he asked. It would be interesting to see a beach-side cave that was apparently high enough to look out from when the tide was high.

"we can go there if you want." Amaidi said starting to lead the way. Her nose wrinkling a bit. The only problem with going down to the beach was the overwhelming smell of dying kelp and salt water. Of course that could just be because of her sense of smell.

Mercury's face lit up in a smile. "That would be very nice!" He followed Amaidi as she picked her way down to the beach. The smell of salt, fish, and rotting plants was stronger as they got closer, but he was able to stave off the worst of it by breathing through his mouth.

Amaidi rolled her eyes and wondered just how the humans who occasionally came here to the beach could just play around with out caring about the smell. She came to the conclusion it must be because their noses where defective.

Mercury felt rock give way to sand under his paws. He wiggled his feet, feeling the grains move into his fur.
"I'm guessing the smell is something you'd have to become accustomed to."

"yeah and its not always soo bad. Its just this is apparently kelp dying season. Aww I wish it wasn't it kind of puts a damper on the thing" amaidi slightly pouted. Although she was a little confused on why her little beach being less than perfect to show Mercury made her sad.

Mercury laughed, moving forward to bump his head lightly against Amaidi. "We can always come back when the shore smells better." His unspoken assumption was that they would be together still at that time.

"yes... we'll do that" amaidi smiled. Happy at the prospect that she could perhaps show mercury just what she liked about this place. A little more happier she started leading Mercury back towards the cove careful not to lose mercury in the mist. Suddenly the tide began moving in as the foamy edges of the water licked Amaidi's ankles.
After a few minutes of walking they eventually reached the edge of the small cove. Amaidi lept up a few feet to the edge of cove. "Well here it is."
