"Uncle Makyo, you really don't get things, do you? How one looks isn't what makes them a devil. Only how one acts," she said with a smile as she took a piece of the pie. "I always see Uncle Makyo. The guy who is trying his best despite what Fate gave him. It doesn't make you perfectly good but it doesn't make you a devil either." She could feel the energy off of him and it made her skin crawl. But it was something from being what he was. She couldn't help that about him. "It just makes you human."

Makyo smiled at her underneath that terrible devil-like nightmare that was his true form, as he pet her hair with that hard, cold shell just one time, and said "I get things more than ever Emelia. That is your point of view, and I'm sorry that I got angry. I am what I am, and people will always see me as the shadow of the forest, or a demon. You and Kora are the light in my eyes, and without any of you two, I would be nobody and wouldn't have a reason to live. I have my own point of view, love, even if I am a fool for believing so." he said in the sweetest of tones, yet with such a terribly scary voice. He was inched down to her size with his eyes at the same level as hers, as he wanted to do his best job in protecting those dear to him... even if Kora always saw him as the servant who can't be no more to her.

Emelia started awake, unsticking her face from the book page she fell asleep on. She had tried the book approach to learn things but they were just so boring to her. Gathering up the books, she decided to look for someone to teach her. The thread that connected her to Aunt Kora told her she was in Kranila at Heaven's Tears. So that's where she headed.

Every part of Kusana was swept away by gloomy darkness, and sickly aura... only madness and death awaited anyone who would stay in Kusana. The forest lay hostile against everyone, but Makyo, the spirit of the forest.

She panic from the sight of this. Kora placed Emelia down for she must have free hands as she quickly dash tours to citizen's. She hold her staff along with her cloth blade so she has one free hand. Reaching out her hand tours the group of plants, she send out a large blast of light that spread-ed wide and hurt the creatures. It will slow them down, but Kora is truly is out numbered. the plant's keep coming like infinite. "Emelia, come on!" She shouted at her. "Today is the Second of the First Spring, year 816 AF. Can anyone here tell me what the 'AF' stands for?" There was an old woman surrounded by children of many races; kiranu, human, elvish children, waktu and more. It was obviously a classroom, and they must have come to visit the library for some field trip or other. They seemed about twelve or thirteen, which was a prime age to be taught about the way of the world. Regardless it was of extreme interest to West, who wondered the sort of things they were taught in Kusana. He sat back and stared, the teacher noticing though not quite caring. He waited a response. And then, a young human boy raised his hand and said: "After the Flood, Mrs. Glensworth! Eight-hundred and sixteen years ago, there was a great flood that wiped out humanity." He smiled brightly, and the teacher smiled in turn. He was correct, and she nodded to imply as much. "Indeed. Over eight hundred years ago, humans were the only intelligent race to wander Axiom. They were supremely powerful. So powerful in fact that they had managed to kill an angel. They had space ships and began to travel to other planets, and they began to attempt to usurp the power of God. Their power was so mighty that even they could not control it, and many wild humans began to attempt to destroy the world. The angels took vessels and hunted these humans down, but they were in infinite number and their weapons were deadly enough to do the job. Eventually, Michael realized that he could not stop the destruction of Axiom, so he wiped the humans away. The terrain of Axiom was changed, the resources made so that they could never reach the capability for destruction that they had before." That was the gist of her first lesson, about why the world had to be cleansed in the first place. Though it was of course strange and difficult to teach to children, who did not fully understand hatred, destruction, death itself.
A young girl asked: "Michael believes in free will, doesn't he? Why did he directly intervene in these people and their plots? Shouldn't it have been left to their governments to deal with them?" She asked quite cleverly, though the question in itself was stale. It seemed simple enough to answer. "Free will regarding your own person is indeed a tenet of Michael's. However, when your free will begins to remove the free will from other people, then you are a monster who must be stopped. These people were on the verge of killing billions of living creatures, obstructing their own free will as well as destroying one of Michael's greatest creations. But in the end he realized that the people walking his creation were inherently flawed and prone to abuse their power. And so, although perhaps hard to understand for us of fragile hearts, he had to make the choice to ultimately revise the world in order to maintain peace." Before she was finished speaking, another child asked a question.
"If Michael wanted for a better solution, then why flood the world? Why not just remove the resources that would be used to destroy it?" Another clever question. She smiled and responded, "Those resources were used to power and run the world. Just like how energy can run machines and give life, it can also destroy. If he removed these resources, then billions of people would have died instantly. The ones left would be thrown into anarchy with no way to maintain their machines or their way of life. And so they would have all eventually died anyway, only in chaos for hundreds of years beforehand. In the end, his choice was wiser. He let them all live in heaven for the rest of time, rather than watching them destroy themselves. It is not for us to judge his decision, anyhow. We are only of the wisdom of men and women. Michael is a God. Remember that." When she said that, West stood up and smirked at her.
He phrased a question for her hearing, and for the curiosity of the children. "One wonders if knowledge is a property of the divine, or a prospect that belongs to everyone. We have seen firsthand that even Michael can be wrong, and can be fooled. He did not even know of Kala until it was far too late, and Nocturne fell to her. We have a right to question the decision of the Gods. Turn to ignorance as we may, he will only disregard our lives. Michael can no longer see what he once saw. He has fallen blind to his people with the wake of Kala. Wisdom has since been our prerogative." She stared at him silently, and then laughed a little. "Very poetic speech, Mr...?" He bowed slightly, and responded. "Giletti. Emperor West of House Giletti." She, at that point, seemed very disturbed. It was as if she was staring into death itself, a demon in front of her very eyes. "Oh," she sounded. "Well, I think the field trip is over, children. It's time to go back to the classroom." An hour early, surely. He saw the schedule on the front door. Perhaps she was more prone to rumors than he would expect of a teacher.
Then again, they were often less intellectual than the children they oversaw. So blinded by propaganda and agenda that they could only truly be fit for a stockroom where they could not say a word.

The library was quite the change of scenery compared to the rest of Kusana. For the nature-loving city, the facility had a surprisingly futuristic feel. Well-lit with artificial lights and graced with an overall streamlined design, the structure seemed to clash with many of those currently using it, most of those people being citizens of Kusana who dressed in nature-themed attire. Really, it was an unique ambience. Too bad Nai, as usual, didn't care one bit for any of it. She had noticed the strangeness of the building, but had passed it all by without so much as a flutter of her eyes. Aesthetics were something that were usually lost on her.
In her usual, efficient manner, Nai went about to retrieve what she had come into the library to read. Of course, she had come to the library for something, even though the initial reason for this had been to give her body a break from physical tasks. If she hadn't had a reason to be in the library, she would have just slumped against the nearest tree in a reasonably quiet area. While Nai didn't have a specific book in mind, she knew of the type of book she wanted. In fact, she was currently reading one of the books she had selected as fitting her criteria, a rather thick history book. She had already researched bloodlines and classes down to the nitty gritty details. Monsters, with their diversity, were something Nai deemed were best learned about on the spot and in action. That left history as the only thing the gunslinger had yet to really learn. History. Something she foresaw no actual use for, but then again, apparently Sloth was a result of this history. Nai had the time. She might as well use it.

Gabriel let out a sigh as he walked around what to him was a new city, however to him his normal walk was taking a step then pushing off and floating forward about three feet then landing on his opposite food then continuing with that motion. Every time he would land on the ground it would be soft and gentle then followed by a big clang of metal due to his suit of metal which was very common with his race known as the Nephilim. He left his hand draping over the hilt of his sword that was currently connected to his right hip due to his belt. As he walked he threw both of his arms up into the air as he grunted out in anger.
He came to a stop in front of a big building which was followed by a grunt as he looked at the building. With the size of the building he was hoping he might be able to find someone within the building to point him in the right direction. He leaded forward before lightly gliding himself up the stairs and landing on the top. He walked in the front doors and his eyes gazed from the left to the right then back. He walked forward until he saw someone out of the corner of his eyes.
He saw a girl off on her own so he walked up to her as his hood covered his face to the point no one could see his face. He spoke out in a dark voice “Hello madam. I was hoping you might be able to help me with some stuff.” He was currently lost within this new city. He had left Pantra to go on a adventure but was already lost within his first day on it.

His eyes flashed with light. He saw, felt, an energy. Very peculiar in nature, it was. It was cold and warped. It changed, did not stay the same. It seemed to hide something even greater and more magnifying than itself. And the source was a girl with very little desire. He could see and feel that too, though it was not quite what others contained. Even beside her, a man who was very clearly a Nephilim, there was much more desire and worldly needing than in her. She was interesting, but perhaps only as a passing thing. West was not privy to people who had nothing and could give him nothing. All life was after all, was a climb. The thing that was so funny was that even the passing interest was there. He supposed he couldn't help but find himself this way in the presence of new things, much like Kiranu, the Incubus were creatures that desired as much as the ones they preyed on. Regardless, what was a good way to approach such a curiosity? He looked over at her intently, and then to his side, where another man was. Did he simply step forward and introduce himself, like he would when trying to charm someone?
Would he watch from the sidelines until a moment so ideal came by? Perhaps he would do exactly as the Nephilim did, and simply forget himself entirely; step forward, say his name as he may, and let whatever response that may fall from her lips come as it would. That seemed more romantic a thought than simply doing nothing, and so he did step forward, and he did speak. His eyes first wandered up to the Nephilim's... eyes, if he could manage to see them, and he said: "You and I have a lot in common. I was wondering," he looked to Nai, "The same thing, my Lady. You see, I couldn't help but notice you picking up a book that quite frankly seems entirely distinct from the image you portray." He tilted his head slightly, and almost sneered, though he didn't seem quite so corrupt. "I can tell from the air you breathe, the smell you surround yourself with, the wants in your mind and the energy in your skin that you're devoid of regularity. I've also found myself an exceptionally curious person, which is why I'm here in this otherwise abominable nation in the first place. So with this curiosity intact, I'd like to wonder: what exactly inspired you to pick up a book regarding the sins?" He was very forward with what he had to say, but only because it had been a long time since he'd been so absolutely stunned by the "aura" of a person.
She was not ordinary. She was powerful, he could feel that. She itched the mark on his flesh. Made Pride who lived inside of him twist and turn. He couldn't waste such an extraordinary opportunity to find out why that was.

Although, with her hood covering most of her face and her seated position, the two men most likely didn't see her eyes move. To them, the biggest signs they had her attention was probably her hand, which had stopped in the middle of turning a page, and the slight lift of her head as she moved her face up to take in the faces of the men. After hearing the two out, Nai turned the page and returned her hand to the corner of the book. She did not speak or move for almost a minute as her mind extracted the best and least wasteful way to approach the current situation.
She recognized the second man as the ever-famous West, emperor of Aramil. That information was actually mildly relevant to the gunslinger. Beyond knowing who he was and a few other basics, Nai did not know anything else. For all she knew, West was some bad-tempered emperor who wasn't afraid to use his power to set bounties on the heads of people he didn't like. Ironically, despite thinking all that, Nai was not willing to expend the effort needed to ingratiate herself with West. In the end, all that she really took from recognizing West was recognizing he was someone strong and storing away into her mind the memory of his presence in Kusana.
The first man she knew nothing about. He seemed run-of-the-mill to Nai and likely someone of the knight or paladin specialties. Although, Nai could not see enough of the first man's figure, just as covered in his outfit as she was in her's, to guess at his race.
Her hooded head tilted first to the armored man and asked, "What?". Not the nicest way of asking what it was exactly that Gabriel wanted, but it was the shortest way of asking.
While waiting for for knight/paladin's response, Nai turned her head towards West. In truth, the most important thing about West's introduction, in Nai's opinion, was his simple presence. Most of what he said, currently, was little more than vapid fluff to the gunslinger. Everything he said in his approximately 6 sentences could have been said in as little as one word by Nai, accompanied by a few marginal gestures to specify the meaning of her word. Nevertheless, the amount of energy and breath the king and emperor wasted on his words was no business of Nai's and it did not change the way she replied to West. Putting in as much care into her words to West as she put into her words to the armored knight/paladin, Nai answered, "Closest history book." It was the truth. All she wanted was a history book. She walked into the library and, of course, the closest history book would be one of those that had yet to be shelved, were waiting to be shelved on that little book cart librarians used to store unshelved books. As coincidental as it was, the host of Sloth coming to read a book on Sins in front of the host of Pride was completely the result of chance.Female ✖ 20 years ✖ 5' 8" ✖ 131 lb. ✖ Black Hair ✖ Black EyesX XMaster ✖ Gunslinger ✖ Sub-Ninja ✖ Chaos ✖ Tempus Inexstinctus ✖ SlothX X X Xstrength: 5 ✖ speed: 8 ✖ dodge: 10 ✖ energy: 1300/1300 ✖ ammo: 350/350PassivesXXChaotic Energy: A passive skill that comes naturally after learning at least five chaos skills, Chaotic Energy is present when the chaos within the user reaches the point where it effects the way their energy is seen. Gabriel had an uneasy feeling settling within the bottom of his stomach. He wasn't sure exactly what it was nor why he had it, it could have been from the other male or the way the female or so he thought was a female spoke to him. This man was defiantly a lot stronger then what Gabriel was currently, he could feel the mans pressure of strength radiating from him. Picking a fight with this man would instantly put him in a bad situation and he knew to avoid it at all costs. Now the female that was sitting down on the floor reading the book. the way she spoke to him made him realize he had interrupted her and you could easily tell that she was not that impressed with him.
She as well had quite a bit of strength in her and yet he was easily an ant in size of power compared to these two. Which made him sigh a little he went out on an adventure to increase his own strength and power yet he was already lost on his adventure? Hell he didn't even know where he was and already felt like he should head back to his home and give up. He shook his head in the middle of his thought as he brought himself back to reality. "Well I was looking to get around. I've been trying to find myself a good place to go and increase my own strength. With me being lost I have no clue where to go regardless of it being an adventure." He felt bad asking these two random people on help on his own adventure where he shouldn't be needing the help of others and moving himself on his own quest.

Closest history book? Lame answer. His enthusiasm for the topic dropped rather instantly, as did his interest in the girl. West very deeply despised people with no drama in their words. She was so plain, so forward. Regardless, he would stick around for now. Maybe she'd open up a little. Maybe he'd find some random intrigue in the angel, although he seemed to have a very common agenda: growing strong. "Don't worry about all that. The large bulk of your strength, beyond the simple school-learned tricks, is something you'll gain in struggle. Adversity." He observed the energy of the Nephilim; he was fresh-faced, a greenhorn amongst very veteran adventurers. This girl, whatever her name was, was not necessarily strong but she was unique. Her uniqueness possibly meant she had great potential at the minimum. West was the same -- a demon walking on earth. His difference from others made him quite the match.
"What do you mean you're 'lost', anyway?" He moved away from the topic of power, and onto the simple implications that Gabriel left behind in his speech and attitude. He did sort of seem a bit clumsy, and he was obviously a little unsure of what he was doing. But how could he be 'lost', anyway? Was he being pretentious and speaking of his spirituality, or his mentality? Or was he just unsure of how X led to Y? "We are in a library, you know. There's probably an atlas with twelve different volumes here, somewhere." He looked back to Nai, and rolled his eyes. "She'd probably know where it is." He didn't take her for a bookworm, but apparently she was. Pft, closest history book.
