Rei's emerald green eyes soaked up as much as she could take in of the night-lit city.
" Wow!" She said to herself. It was her first asssignment out of the underworld and she was free to do as she pleased. " It's so pretty!"
Her long blonde hair blew along with the wind as she floated her was along the city sidewalk. She looked around at all the people and their simple way of life. Seems so long ago, that I was actully one of them. Rei thought. It had only been about 4 weeks since Rei was alive. Rei did not wish to remember her past life. She was a girl of the age 19. Her fiance had been killed in a car crash and Rei could not deal with his absent. She stood in front of a moving train and killed herself. Rei would rather be dead than without him. But not that Rei could remember this.
" Eh?" Rei said suprised. A person had just passed right through her as if she were not there. " Aww... man. Frogot... No one can see me." She moaned. Her feet touched back to the ground. She scratched her head in confusment.
" The master could have let me him come to me. I hate being by myself! " She complained. Let's see... She though. " Oh right! I don't have any restrictions up here... well at least that The Master can't see. Let's have some fun after we find, how about it, Rei! " She decided. She once again returned to floating down the sidewalk.

Rei continued to float down to where a large tree was.
" HUH?! This tree has feet! Talk about weird!" She said to herself. She held on tightly to her fake car ears hat as she picked up speed to get closer to the strange tree.
She slowly peered around the tree. A shinigami with the ears of a dog. He was wearing a white long sleeve shirt with a black line going down each side of his arm. The pants were the same. A gold and red arm band was around the top part of his left arm and he had black wings shimmered lightly in gold. He was incredibly good looking with brown long hair and brown eyes with flakes of gold.
His outfit is kinda like mine. She though looking down at her own outfit. She was wearing a short red long-sleeved dress with black stockings hooked to the bottom, which matched where her red loose boots. Her dress was cut off at the neck but carried under her arms to reveal two long sleeves with two thick black braclets on each arm. Two bands enclosed the top of arms with the same markings as his. Her long blonde hair was decorated with long gold ribbons. Too touch up the outfit, Rei had wrapped white ribbons around her stockings on her legs. The only diffrence were her white wings shimmered with black.
" Hello... " Rei said floating out from behind the tree. " Are you my partner... I'm suppose to meet? " She said lookind down at her feet and hold her gold cat hat behind he back. He turned and looked at her. He slowly stood up. I didn't think he was going to be so good looking! Rei thought which revealed a light blush to her face.
" Rei, correct? " He said firmly. Rei nodded. " I am Ryuho, your partner." He said once again firmly. Rei nodded. She felt stupid not being able to say anything. " Come on. Let's go. " He said.
"... Right." She said.
He took her hand and they floated off together, back the way she came.

"That'll never happen with Myth... Well, unless she forgets her human life again..." he said... He didn't know what had happened with Ryuu, He WAS new to this, after all... "Imagine what it would be like if they actually DID get over it..." he said, daydreaming in a way... "It would be so awesome..." He imagined Myth kissing him, in an outfit like his... If only, If only... he thought...

"I ag..."Ryuu was about to say he agreed with Sabutaru, when he immagined Saika finally being happy...Followed by the two of them dating....and then.....He blushed absolutely crimson, and thwacked himself over the head, trying to get the image out of his mind. 'NO NO NO NO NO!! SHE'S MY PARTNER!!! ACK!'he thought desperately...However, the crush he had on her was...Rather stiffeling. That was when he realized that Sabutaru was staring at him with an odd look on his face. "Um....Yeah...I agree...."he said quietly, turning even more red.

"I understand..." Sabutaru chuckled... "It's the same deal with me..." He sighed... "You know, once she get's a soul... it'll be even worse..." he said, unhappily. "Then, it won't matter if she remembered her past... and she'd probably end up remembering... And-- well, you know what happens after that..." He thought about Myth...

"Yeah...I'm hoping....That maybe.....She'll learn to just be content with....with the afterlife she's got...."Said Ryuu, sounding like there wasn't much else he could do but hope.

Sabutaru nodded... "Hey!" he said, squinting ahead, "I think I see someone up there... I'm not sure though..." His eyesight has always been... not good... But it's not as if he needed it bad enough to get.. glasses...

" Eh! Ryuho! Are those shinigami? Oh, oh! Look they are!" Rei said jumping up and down. Rei had always been by herself and now seeing other shinigami excited her.
" Big deal. Looks like Sabutaru and Ryuu." Ryuho said showing no sign of affection.
" Wonder why they are here. Myth and Saika aren't with them."
Rei looked from Ryuho to the other shinigami confused.
They have partners, too! Man am I out of the rules.
I'm just a new shinigami but you would think I would have the deal by now. Eh.. I'm just a lump in the road until I get a soul.
But after I get my first soul, I'll be in action with Ryuho! Rei thought to herself with a small laugh.
Ryuho stared at Rei.
" You should get use to seeing shinigam. But I have to admit seeing two, and there not partners so that means there is six of us up here. Hmm.. I wonder what they are up too.
And where could Myth and Saika be? " Ryuho said to Rei.
Rei looked at him slightly jealous. " Is something wrong?"
" Oh it's nothing! I'm uh just feeling... happy. That's all." Rei said shaking her hands widly, blushing deep scarlet.
"I'm going to go introduce myself now!" She said quickly flying away to hide her hurt and blushing face.
She floated off towards Sabutaru and Ryuu. Ryuho with a look of confusment, followed after her.
Does Ryuho like those girls more than me? Rei thought.
Oh man! What if he does. I better act happy or he'll be suspicous of me.
" Oh man, oh man! This must be my lucky day! Meeting two shinigami. How lucky! " Rei squealed with delight.
Rei softly landed next to Sabutaru and Ryuu. Ryuho landed behind her not saying a word, but giving a wave of hello.
" Hiya! I'm Rei! Pleased to meetcha! " She said giving them a kind smile. She wrapped her hands around her back and the cool breeze blew her hair slightly. " I'm the new shinigami."

"Appears there's quite a lot of dead guys in this here town!" Sabutaru chuckled, holding out his hand to Rei. "I'm Sabutaru, nice to meet ya'!" He smiled kindly. "I'm pretty new at this too, ya' know..."

"Hi there, I'm Ryuu. Its a pleasure to meet you,"he said, smiling in a rather friendly way, as he took Rei's hand (the one with which she would not be shaking Sabutaru's), and kissed it. He had been raised by Aristocrats in his life, and some of it had sunk through to his afterlife....Infact, the pressure put on him because of that upbringing was what had lead him to kill himself.

Again, Crystal roamed about town, or maybe city, seeking something to do. She rarely got a mission, but that was fine. She looked around. She sighed when a man walked right past her, unable to see the lonely girl, standing there. "Mehh.." She muttered and headed to the park again, plopping onto the swing. She sat in silance, unable to do anything worth while. Not even push her feet to make the swing.. Swing.

" It's a pleasure to meet you, Ryuu and Sabutaru!" Rei said with a smile. " Call me crazy, but I'm actully enjoying my time as shinigami." Rei said with a slight twitch of her cat ear.
Ryuho crossed his arms and floated by Rei. He landed next to her. Good, I won't have to worry about her turning into a ghost, like Maya... Ryuho thought sadly. A picture of Maya's gentle face gave Ryuho a shake of sadness. Rei gave him a puzzled look. He quickly came back from the thought of Maya.
" Ryuu... Sabutaru." Ryuho said with a nod to each guy. " Where is Myth and Saika off too?" Ryuho asked them.
Rei looked away towards the city. She had no thought of wanting to stay in the chat any longer. Do I get jealous that easy? Rei thought as she took of her hat and held it in her hands. Her hair blew more in the wind now. It's strange, I barely know Ryuho but I'm so protective over him already. Why is that...? Rei thought clutching her hat and puting a hand to her face slowly. Suddenly, an image appeared in her mind. A young alive Rei was holding hands with an slighlty older man. She was crying, not because she was sad, but because she was so happy. They were waving to everyone and the man was smiling.
No...no! Rei thought. She clutched her hat even tighter. I don't want to remember anything! I want to be a shinigami! Rei thought. Two tears slid down her face. She quickly wiped them away with the long sleeves of her dress. She placed her hat back on her head and turned back to Ryuu, Sabutaru, and Ryuho.
" Sorry... I uh... thought I saw something." Rei said looking down to hide her red eyes. Ryuho looked at Rei, than back at Ryuu and Sabutaru for an awnser.

"Myth's probably off sulking again..." Sabutaru said... He didn't know Saika, so he couldn't say anything about her... Besides, Ryuu was her partner... Why does HE get the one who doesn't want to dissappear? he asked silently annoyed... He didn't say anything to Rei... knowing better than to ask...

"As for Saika....She promised she'd stop focusing on being a ghost....so I said I'de give her some air..."Said Ryuu, sounding a little depressed. He really wanted her to be able to think of him as someone she could talk to...but she didn't. He didn't even want to think how long it would take for her to get over that...
