'Mine I really AM hungry.' The not so little dragonet looked mournfully at his. 'Yes, they should be tasty.'
Silbakor... no S'kor was dumbfounded. "Yes 'Theli. He's mine. Says his name is Scarath." Did dragonets like their meat flavored? He'd never heard of such a thing. "Um, sure lets get you fed, but maybe this time we'll hold off the spices...until I talk... to someone..." He gets out of his seat. There was no way he could keep Scarath sitting here in the stands. It had to be uncomfortable.
Leading his way along, profoundly embarrassing at having to disturb so many people trying to watch the Hatching. He glances back at his, His!, dragonet following him carefully to not step on anyone's toes. How are I going to get him back down? These weren't exactly made for dragonets... much less ones of his size..
'Oh alright, Mine.' Scarath looks at his with eyes that whirled slightly with hunger. 'I got myself up here, I can get myself down, Mine.' With that the big-little dragonet scrambles back down to the sands, crooning for his to follow. With his rider at his side, Scarath makes a beeline for the table of meat.
Optheli gives a huge sigh watching her brother lead his marvelous bronze back to the sands. She was so proud of him! Now she was torn, to follow her brother and ogle at his boy or watch the rest of the hatching? Glancing back onto the sands she sees that while she's been caught up in her brother's impression a green had hatched and was walking among the boys. This really was too exciting. She'd stay to watch and ogle after-wards! Who would the little green Impress? There was no way for her to really tell.

Viskal tensed as the bronze approached and passed them by. Remembering having touched the beast’s egg, this wasn’t one he was really expecting to like him, and his first action had been to stare at the bronze’s incredible teeth and claws. Still, he seemed less clumsy than his newly hatched sister and pushed through the boys without real hostility. He sighed shakily in the bronze’s wake and threw his eyes across the sane as the green moved toward them. Although smaller as a green, she was still a dragon, and huge even as a baby. He tried to reminded himself to stay out of the way of flailing, uncoordinated claws, as well as push down his amazement to a manageable degree. He was here, actually Standing, actually watching dragons push by, actually having a chance at something more than dyes, leather, tedious chores and the disappointments of waiting for something worth waiting for and never getting it. But be sharded if he was going to get his neck broken like a fool when some hissing dragon broke into the crowd (The Windswept was yet to come, after all), or cause some sort of other problem.
---
Where was that bronze going? He had a purpose no doubt and – oh, there! He’d climbed into the stands. A stands Impression, dear, like us, K’la commented to her dragon with pleasure at the fond memory. Yvoth was still watching happily, but was unimpressed by that bit of news. It just took a little longer to find you, Mine. Look at the green – she seems a sweet little thing.
K’la nodded in the direction their dragons were cloistered and glanced at R’vik. “How’s your dragon taking the guard?” she asked in a light voice. She knew Yvoth didn’t especially mind it, but she knew some of her wingmates flew prouder beasts and she was a bit concerned about them.

With Scarath matched, it left the little green alone on the Sands and she quietly waddled among the boys, her eyes searching theirs. Those that had not looked her way she dismissed... they wanted other things - she wanted certain things. She felt Hers' gaze pass across her and she stopped, craning her neck around to look over her shoulder. Where? The little green nosed past the boy in front and reared up on her back legs to get a better look. Ah! There! She started off towards the boy she'd decided on, hurrying and anxious to be with Her Farellen. Mine! There you are! Were you watching the other? I was looking for you... watch your Toulonth instead? She will listen but she is also very hungry. Meanwhile, more of the eggs were beginning to sway and crack and move. Especially the gold egg, whos shifts and trembling surely meant it would hatch in the immediate future!

Ah well, Kyros sighed internally as the green chose a lad some distance from him, there were plenty more eggs yet. That little green did have a cute face though; the stark difference be colour between her muzzle and the rest of her was intriguing... The gold egg was moving again, perhaps she would hatch and decide soon; at the moment she still have full pick of the female candidates, and of course all the young girls in the stands... How often did dragons choose from up there? He got the impression that it wasn't exactly rare, but it certainly wasn't the norm.

S'kor wasn't exactly sure what to do, but Scarath certainly did. Following the instructions the bronze was certainly happy to give. He picked up a bowl and picked a piece of out. Quickly he popped it into the waiting mouth that politely opened for him. Well at least this is fairly easy. And the meat is already cut up.
Optheli was grinning from ear to ear as the cute little green found Hers.

Salin felt his shoulders slump slightly in a wave of unexpected relief, not for himself, she was a pretty green and any dragon was one to be thankful for, but for Farellen. His zeal and confidence had apparently paid off, and he had an gorgeous new partner to show for it, with a striking appearance. Good. He deserves it.He thought, feeling guilty again about the way he'd reacted the other day.
---
What a striking green. Saekagai was surprised at the dramatic contrast in her colors, which almost bordered on blue at her muzzle, and flashes of spring green, almost yellow, on her belly. He didn't know the boy she'd sought out, though he'd seen him sitting near the enthusiastic Gabriel, who he hoped would also be found by 'hers' in this clutch.

Well, it was Nasu's loss if she really didn't want to wear the sandals, but for a moment La dithered about putting them back on. It wouldn't precisely be a very gentlemanly thing to do, and....well, for the time-being, she decided she would leave them alone and kicked them ever-so-slightly behind her, digging her toes into painfully hot sand and thanking Faranth she spent most of her time barefoot anyways. "Pretty little green indeed," she agreed, before realizing that the bronze had made his way through the boys and was...what?
Oh, wow. "No way," she said quietly, followed by a louder, "Would you look at that!" when the young bronze chose His among the spectators. "Stands Impression on the first egg, and a bronze!" she laughed delightedly, clapping her hands and then turning back to the little green only to see her wandering among the boys. Ah, well. Better luck next egg, perhaps. At least both dragons had been healthy, and the green really was a beautiful little thing. And then she chose Hers, and La clapped again, glancing back to Nasu and giving her a wry smile. "Whatever happened to ladies first, d'you think?"

Farellen watched the green come closer, nudging a boy aside and rearing up to look around, he glanced at the other boys when he heard a voice. Mine! There you are! Were you watching the other? I was looking for you... watch your Toulonth instead? She will listen but she is also very hungry. Farellen was confused at first, looking about at who was talking to him when his gaze focused on the Green again and he dropped to his knees beside her, tears springing to his eyes, oh Toulonth, you're beautiful, lets talk after while fetch your foodHe smiled for the first time in days, he looked over at Gabriel and Salin with a thumbs up "Her name is Toulonth" he mouthed and F'ren led his dragon to go eat.

Salin flashed Farellen an brilliant grin and gestured his enthusiastic approval, planning to congratulate him later. He wasn't the best at lip reading, but he'd double check what he'd 'Heard' later. Mean time there were other eggs shaking, and they needed to see where the new born queen would go.

Jalarant smiled at the newly impressed pair, but turned his eyes to the rocking eggs. By the first egg, it looked like that queen was going to flip her egg over!

She'd been doing some remedial lessons with the Weyr's Harper and several other Weyrbrats when the desks started vibrating. At first he seemed to think that she was making things up just to get out of the lessons – which wasn't a half bad idea actually - but once his own desk started to shake he seemed to take it to be the truth. The girl and her classmates had been hurried off into the crowds of running people, going this way and that until they could finally get to their white robes. Kiipa nearly managed to put her head through an arm hole in her haste to get the garment on. It was every bit as large as it had been last Turn and the Turn before that. Apparently she wasn't getting any bigger, but that was just about the last thing on the girl's mind. Robes secured, she took off like a shot towards the gathering candidates. In the frantic flurry of motion it was a wonder that Kiipa didn't get trampled.
Thankfully, she made it to the Hatching sands in one piece, joining the group as they were being sorted. Girls on the left. Right. She could do this. Her whole body was practically vibrating in a mixture of anxiousness and excitement, nearly twice as strong as it had been at the Touching. The dragons were hatching! How she wished she could shout it to the world but the world already seemed to know. Dragons, both Benden and Trine, had flocked to the Sands to watch, the queen already awaiting their arrival. Kiipa's eyes travelled down the rows of dragons, momentarily awestruck by the attendance. Wow.
The collective shush that fell over the crowd was enough to tell her that she was missing something important and she jerked her eyes back to the eggs. She had to get to the front! Otherwise she wouldn't be able to see! With a soft huff she wiggled her way through the group of girls until she could get a clear view of the eggs. A bronze! A bronze had hatched! Well done! While it was most certainly not for her, Kiipa couldn't help but grin and send happy thoughts after the dragon. But oh, a green now! The girl's heart leapt into her throat as the green called, only to feel it sink instantly when the dragon went straight for the boys. Not hers either then.
But more eggs were rocking and Kiipa mentally cheered them on. Go little dragons go!

He followed the green with his eyes and smiled as one boy looked lost. That must be... The boy had dropped to his knees and tears, Yup, that it was. Even though they hadn't looked him when they Impressed, Saykiro nodded towards them.
The gold continued to wobble, like she was ready to come out before any others did. Saykiro stood a little taller, as proud as he could for being there in the Sands.

Okay, so Ofelia hadn't been paying attention at all to what was going on, since it seemed like so much was going on all at once. She was mostly pulling on her brother's arm to get his attention about things when something happened, or trying to talk to the girl next to her (who seemed angry at something or someone) or waving like an idiot to the people on the sands. She'd been really, really happy to see La out there and she knew her face flushed bright red when she'd seen Kyros, but it made her delighted even more when dragons finally burst from their shells and started to Impress.
"What jus' happened? Did a dragon jus' come inta the stands an' all? Was it a bronze? What is that green doin'? did it jus' find someone too? Is that Falle? Did...hey, what's happenin'? Seriously."
So full of questions, and still not paying much attention. Ofelia wanted to ask so she was caught up, not because she actually cared. It did made her a little happy to see the baby dragons, since she did really like dragons and all even if she doubted she'd ever get one, and it made her happy to see someone she (sorta) knew do that whole Impression thing. It meant they wouldn't be lonely anymore, right? Whatever, let's keep going!
"What's happenin' now? Is the Gold egg shakin' or somethin'? I'm confused."

As Toulonth made the Impression, a few eggs shattered and rose as the dragonets within them stood up, covered in goo. Their colours were dark from the wetness against their hides but after a moment and the tendrils of sticky stuff fell away, the Watching Eyes egg had given way to a handsome Blue and a rather pretty Brown had stepped from the Tree Bark egg.
And then golden egg cracked, a few pieces falling away as first one wing then the other was stretched out, gleaming, and the little queen pushed hard on the other side of the egg as she rocked forward and broke through there. The end result was a well hatched new queen with the tip of her shell sticking to her headknobs like a silly little hat.
And her entrance would have been grand indeed if the blue had not started keening and rolling and otherwise making a giant fuss. Over what, it was hard to tell, but he was making his escape from the eggs as fast as his unsteady new legs could take him. A sharp eye would note, however, that he was trying to rub the egg goo and sands off him as best as he could in his haste to get away.
The brown merely watched in amused confusion as the blue made a spectacle of himself while the Gold, her entrance spoiled, gave her very best roar to the blue and, really, all of those gathered. This was her spotlight! She was the Queen! Not the dirt-frightened blue!!
Hissing in upset, the blue tripped and tumbled, ending up on his back as he keened his distress. Where was his!?

The queen had hatched, and every pair of female eyes was doubtlessly on her glorious golden self, even with that silly shell hat. Well. Sheridan did not think it was silly, as it was a queen dragon and thus not really a laughing matter. Brakiath was no laughing matter, and this one would grow up to be just like her mother, more than likely. It was that thought that had him clearing somewhat away from the pretty little dragonet, to something that he did find somewhat amusing.
The dirty little blue was indeed interesting and funny, doing everything in its power to be as filthy as possible and get as far away from the queen as it could. Wonder why that was? Was he just eager to find his intended lifemate? Who knew! The image of that poor Candidate's white outfit, however, brought a large grin to Sheridan's face as his attention turned to the brown, who seemed about as amused and interested as the Candidates were in its siblings.
Boy, Hatchings sure were interesting things!
