Jaci shuddered a little. "I'm about as comfortable up in the air as a fish is! It would take a lot, and I mean a lot, of trickery to get me to go up in the sky!"
Sephy could say all she wanted about keeping your eyes closed. It was just the way the wind and weightlessness felt to Jaci. It was very different from being in water, where you felt supported and craddled! Maybe 'phims had it different cause they had wings, but air did not cradle normal foxes!

"you're missing a whole bunch then, but thats okay. We'll just meet here every few months then and then adventure around. Heru is sure taking awhile on that rabbit" she stated and then speak of the devil the nebula colored fox reappeared with a dead rabbit
"sorry about that it was a little slippery than I thought" Horus said after laying the kill down.

Jaci pounced! It wasn't a greedy pounce, she let plenty of space for Sephy to join in. It was more of an OMG-I-haven't-had-rabbit-in-so-long type of pounce.
She looked up at Horus with a giant thank-you in her gold eyes. She would have said it aloud, but her mouth was full. Bad etiquette!

Persephone giggled a bit at the look in Jaci's eyes and tried to imagine what it would be like to not really ever eat rabbit. She shook her head not being able to.
"you're welcome Jaci." Horus laughed. "if you think this is awesome you should try deer one day. Of course unless your an excellent land hunter you should always bring some one along. Their kicks a pretty powerful."

Jaci swallowed the bite she had taken before responding. It was almost impossible to not roll her eyes, but she managed. She was working on trying for a better attitude.
"I've seen deer before. They don't even register me as a threat! I'm just a little ankle biter to them."
Not to mention their feet were quite tough. Yea, she'd tried to bring a deer down through sheer determination, but the creature just bucked Jaci off. All in all, one of her worst hunting days....

"Ah yes some type of deer like to believe they own the world even though they are herbivores. However big of jerks they still can be taken down" the thrill of bringing one of those deer down quickly passed over Horus's eyes before he blinked and they returned back to normal.
"and they taste pretty yummy too" Persephone giggled.

Jaci shrugged a little. She'd have to take their word for it, cause she had never tasted deer. Dirt and fur from a leg didn't count, and she'd been bucked off pretty quickly. It was after that that she mostly stuck to swimming for her dinners.
"Well then you guys can share next time you snag a deer."

"alright I can do that" Persephone smiled. Now she just had to figure out how to get the meat to Jaci. She supposed she could wait until she got older and big enough to take them on, but she would need some one to teach her. well she supposed she could ask her dad after he calmed down. he was always complaining she didnt spend enough time with him.
"no problem" Horus chuckled.

Jaci's belly was round with fish and rabbit meat, and she sighed contentedly. "Hmmm, what do you guys want to do now," she asked, a little bored. Swimming on a full stomach was usually never fun, and she wasn't as in the know of land games.

"Isnt there a beach around here. I could have sworn once when I was flying with daddy that I saw the ocean. We should go out there and play on the beach" Persephone beamed. Last time she went she hadnt gotten to stay long and had really wanted to come back.
"the beach? that doesnt sound like too bad of an idea" Horus pondered.

Jaci nodded enthusiastically. "That sounds like fun! Let's go!" She pranced a little bit, impatient. Jaci thought she knew which direction the beach was, but she could have been wrong since she hadn't been around this part of the woods in awhile. Three noses were better than one!

"to the beach... to the beach" Persephone stated hoping a bit to keep up with everyone's longer legs. Being the smallest did have its disadvantages. As they were walking near the river she fell into a huge pile of leaves only to be picked up by the scruff of her neck by Horus. "To the beach?" she said with a weak smile.

Jaci had decided to follow the direction of the river flow. They usually emptied into the ocean, or so she'd been told. First time in an area with an ocean.
Turned out she needed worry. After lopping forward for maybe five minutes her nostrils filled with the scent of salt water. "It's close," she shouted excitedly, looking back at Heru and Sephy.

Horus bit back a smile. Kits where always fun to be around when they found something that got them excited. "Yes it is really close. be more Careful Persephone wouldn't want you to get eaten by leaves" Only it was a little muffled since he was still carrying Persephone after the leaves ate her again.
"Okay. I be more careful" Persephone giggled swinging back and forth. It went into excited giggles as the forest melted away to the beach and large expanses of salt water. "Whoa, pretty!"

Jaci had already plunged into the waves. This water stung her eyes a bit if she kept them open but not enough to cause complete pain. Doubtless they'd burn more later. She was practicing blind swimming anyway, though a river was definetly not like the ocean.
She popped up then promptly got swamped by a small wave. She came back up to the surface, spluttering a little. "Don't go too deep Sephy! This water tugs at you a whole-." The rest of her message was interrupted by another wave crashing over her head.
