Cyric Adair

PostPosted: Fri Jun 25, 2010 8:05 am

I've been lost in loneliness, of these nights deeper than darkness

I want someone to notice now...
Because I want to get out of here

-Cyric-

"We Estarcians have done nothing to our people! " Cyric shouted, throwing the axe away from his spear before bringing it down to block another one of Caesar's attacks. "Your mission was to take the Fire Emblem was it not!? So what will you do once you've killed us!? Will you abandon these people to die!? Without a ruler!? You don't belong in this world so whose to say you won't leave them once you're done here!?"

Caesar brouht up the so called 'traps' that were apparantly laid by someone among his army. Cyric didn't know who, but he had a feeling someone didn't them settling this in a civil matter, thus iving them the only option to fight it through like barbarians that the captain had wished to avoid. "Bite your tongue!" Cyric snapped, throwing the axe off once more, ordering Ronan to step back away from the crazed general who seemed to be coming to his senses."I will admit I did not know of Ezekiel's intentions for he is one of my officers acting without my knowledge. I had no intention to attack one of your superior officers as well! As for what happened during the exchange...I can not explain but that was not my intention at all!"

He stopped once the General was back to his senses after the blow Cyric delivered to his head. Was he actually thinking straight now!? He wished to finish it for the sake of those who wished for it? Who? His army? Himself? "And who exactly are these..people that want to see it end?" Caesar didn't seem to want to answer that for he jumped right to answering who told him such lies. A sorceress...? She sounded vaguely familiar, yet the captain himself couldn't quite put a finger on who this General was describing. "Then I shall deal with those invaders with my own hands. But we nobles are not all as foul as you think we are...What you heard have been nothing but lies for a majority of it! What of yourself? You call us corrupted, evil, wicked. But what you are doing would be no better than what you think we are! Cowards? You dare call me a coward!? What of yourself!? Attacking us out of accusation of some...sorceress! A sorceress who probably manipulated you into doing exactly what she wanted you to do!"

Silence came between the two commanding officers, neither one of them making a move, yet neither one of them returning any sort of attack to one another. "Yes I can admit...Estarcian Nobles are snobs, a bit stuck-up and can be a pain in the a** to boot. But I can assure you none of us are as terrible as that sorceress has made us to be!"

Cyric stared for a moment more, he wasn't even sure if he was glaring or simply looking at the General in confusion. Though the captain himself can admit he had no idea what was going on either. But it was better to fix this mess then to have it become any worse then it already has. The silence between Caesar and him was starting to annoy the Silver Knight until he spoke up once more. "As I have said the last time, I have the Fire Emblem here...what do you plan to do with it?"The silence went on for a little bit more, neither party making a sudden move.

"Leon! Wait! Stop this right now!" The paladin shouted as she continued chasing him.

She wasn't sure if the Watch Lieutenant could hear her. Did her voice get drowned by the war? Maybe, but she had to stop him at once.

As she continued pursuing, she slashed out the enemies across the necks and chests along the way with her sword. She didn't have time to stop and finish her duel with the generic soldiers. She had to stop that reckless Watch Lieutenant.

Seriously, do you have to make this harder for me? Isadora thought bitterly toward Leon. After all, they had a plan to defend Archesis and win the war and she refused to let reckless act ruined it.

Suddenly, she heard Cyric's shout. Turning her head around, she saw the Silver Knight rode passed her and entered a duel against the leader. Isadora stared bewilderingly at Cyric's action.

Men! What is wrong with them?! Isadora thought scornfully. Were they THAT reckless and crazy during the war? She knew fully well that they wanted to end the war and spare the innocents. But did they HAVE to go that far? Where was their rationality? Where was their calmness? Where was their- Ah, forget it. It was pointless for the Dame Knight to reason with these hard-headed fools.

"Might as well end it..." The paladin muttered reluctantly as she sheathed her sword. She pulled out her spear from Tuomas' side and continued to chase after Leon. Whatever plan Leon had in mind, she better helped him. She refused to let him die on his reckless act.

Isadora snapped the reins to urge Tuomas to go faster. She lifted herself slightly higher from her seat to give her horse the momentum to go faster. As the paladin was about to passed Leon, she shouted. "I hope this plan of yours work, or else you will have to apologize to the king if this fails and you survive!"

Whatever reply Leon would make, she didn't get the chance to hear as she rode passed him. Seeing the prisoners ahead of her with guards surrounding it, she looked around to see if there was any captain nearby. If there was, she would need to distract the captain immediately so there wouldn't be an order given to these prisoners' guards.

There! Not too far from the guards were the same captains who were with their leader. Praying that she wouldn't put herself in a suicidal mission, Isadora threw her spear as an invitation of challenge toward their feet. She hoped that they would prefer to talk instead of battling. The paladin didn't want to cause more bloodshed. But if they attacked her, then she would have do to her best to defeat them.

The battle was furious. Esmeralda was doing all she could to keep up her barrage of arrows. Lancelot... Lancelot, that idiot, had gone off to fight Vaida, despite his injuries. Even if they'd been healed, he was sure to still be in bad shape, and now... now even without his helmet...

For the first time, even with his recklessness, Esmeralda was scared for him.

It was difficult, trying to protect both her General and her brother and Lancelot. Caesar was locked in battle with Cyric, and seemed to be doing well, so she dedicated more attention to her brother and friend instead. She let loose a trio of arrows in the opposing wyvern soldier's direction, taking great care not to let any of the arrowheads stray close to Lancelot's position. Aerial battles were always fiddly things when you tried to aim at only one target, especially when they were in such close quarters as this. She could aim despite it--she wouldn't have become such a good Sniper if she couldn't--and was lifting another arrow when she heard the thud of a spear hitting the ground near her.

Barely keeping her wits about her, Esmeralda pulled her arrow back again, letting it fly at the woman who had thrown the spear at them. There was no weapon in her hands now--she had thrown it, after all--but she seemed intent on battle.

Esmeralda looked over to Antonio. Could she leave the main fighting to him? She looked back up at the sky, where Lancelot and the opposing wyvern rider were dueling. She narrowed her eyes, and giving a perfunctory glance towards the approaching Paladin, fired another arrow at the scaly underbelly of the opponent's wyvern.

A man whom can conquer his fear can strive to conquer the world.
>x-General Caesar-x<

"Usually, when a country is rid of a ruler they do not like, they, the people find themselves another." The General answered Cyric rather quickly, as he saw this, truly in his experiences before. The Estarician was starting to mention things that, in hindsight, were a bit suspicious to Caesar. Eziekiel seemed to be the only one who acted the way he did, while their other opponents were both humble and brave, even if they were foolish to go against an opponent that was far beyond their might. Those weren't the characteristics of a nation ruled by tyranny. They were instead, the traits of a nation that just wanted to keep itself standing.

He raised an eyebrow at yet another of the Silver Knight's questions. "Who wishes this whole war to end? Everyone does, naturally. I do, you do, the commoners, the wealthy, everyone wishes it to end. Do you not agree?"

Thinking and thinking about Cyric's other words, how the traps were not his intentions, how he constantly said that he wanted to resolve things without blood during the exchange... the General wanted to solemnly believe what he said. Yes, Cyric was the enemy... and yes, most believed that every Estarcian was dishonest. Cyric was not dishonest though, he could tell. He didn't have the eyes or words of a liar, whom liked to play with people's minds. But if he was right... then Caesar was wrong? His source of the information was false?

"I had no other choice but to believe the one who informed me though." Caesar answered. "If I didn't heed her words, I would have merely been stranded in a snow storm with my entire army... wandering this new world without a single clue. All we wish, from that relic is our return home." The General had eased up the tension, by breaking the long silence between commanders and explaining something that wasn't clear before.

And so Joshua went thataway, towrads Ceaser and those with him, Ceaser though was already fighting someone else and Joshua wasn't the kind of guy to cut in on someone elses date.

Still he could see that it was going to take a bit for him to get there, so he ran, of course there were people all over the place, and some tried to engage Joshua. But they were nowhere near his level, a man took two steps towards Joshua on his right with his weapon raised, without even stopping the swordmaster slit him hip to hip.

Behind him was a man howling on his knees trying to hold in his intestines, he wasn't doing a good job of it.

A fellow swordsman was blocking Joshua's path now, his feet set in a typical stance, pulling up the gambler swung his sword at the same time the swordsman raised his, the two blades met momentarily before Joshua pulled his away quickly before swinging it again, beating down the other sword and knocking it out of the way. A quick flash of a cut whisked towards the Archean's face.

"You want to end a fight quickly boy?" The grizzeled gambler said, "Go for the eyes. Slice at their face, even if you don't kill them, you've ended their career as a swordsman forever."

"Isn't that unfair?"

"Boy life is unfair, you can tell by the scars on your arms if you spare a second, just one, to think if your being fair or not, cut out your own eyes first."

Joshua kept going, the memory of this lesson chasing after him.

User Image"I can't stop now, Milady!" Leon replied, staring at her with a puzzled gaze as he went forward. "If we stop, they're gonna figure out some kinda plan to keep us from goin' forward! Look, most of 'em are occupied, they dun' care about their hostages, so let's keep goin'!" the Lieutenant exclaimed, kicking the sides of Anri so he quickened his pace. The Great Knight went faster than any of the generic soldiers could shake a stick at, so he, like Isadora, was left alone by these small fry.

Again, the Paladin expressed worry that the plan wasn't going to work! Geez, did she have no faith in her follow rider and Learanian at all? It was simply unbelievable! "Milady, if I say it's gonna work, then I know it's gonna work, it's tha' simple! Look. We're both seasoned warriors, ain't we? The worst that could happen is tha' we're forced to retreat, but we've still got plenty of our own side to help us if if comes to tha'!"

And just as he was speaking, Isadora sped ahead! What gives? It was like she was saying "yes, we should help the Watch, but no, I hate your idea." Unbelievable indeed. Was the fact that she was a rather high-ranked crew member of the FEF Guild making her think too rigidly? Leon needed to remind her to lighten up, like a certain spear-wielding constable whom was luckily at home with Rhys told him to do. Leon shook his head. Focus! Don't think about Amelia or the others that are safe, think of the ones that need saving he told himself. He sure didn't want to be the one to explain "where they went."

When he finally caught up with Isadora, Leon saw her throw the spear, not to aim at the two Captains that were guarding the captives, but to either make them speak or challenge them with weapons. A cringe went through the Lieutenant as he looked upon one of their garb: a Sage's attire. It wasn't too long ago, in FEF's third guild anniversary, that a Sage came so very close to ending his life. Leon reminded himself now to be extra careful if this icy-looking magician was to be either his or Isadora's opponent...

When the paladin saw an arrow coming toward her, she lowered her head, letting the arrow zoomed pass above her head. That was a close call. If she hadn't duck, she would likely have an arrow aiming at her face.

Isadora looked at her opponents before her. One was the Sniper and the other was a Sage. A far-range combination. Lovely. The paladin could dodge and block the Sniper's attack with her shield. But for the Sage, well that would be difficult to attack. She remembered very well how terrible it was to fight during the Guildaversary event. She had nearly died from that awful Beastmaster's attack. Well, she needed to be very careful.

Isadora unsheathed her sword as she continued to approach to the captains. She tugged the reins to make Tuomas stop in front of the captains, few feet away. She held onto her sword cautiously, but not threatening toward the duo.

"I am Isadora the Dame Knight. As the representative of Learania, I demand that you release my people at once." She ordered the duo. "My people did not come here to battle against you, but to aid those who were injured and to cease the war. I don't know why your leader wish to have the Fire Emblem and I wish we could have ended it in a peaceful way. But if you don't cease your attacks and release the Priestess and my people, then you will let me have no choice but to battle you."

She then heard the trotting of the horse's hooves behind her. The Dame Knight turned her head to see Leon approaching behind her. Was Leon here to help her? She thought that the Watch Lieutenant was going to get the hostages free. Well, the paladin was thankful that he was here to help. It would be a difficult battle for her to against two captains at once. The only question was if their opponents decided to battle, which one would be her opponent?

Frigid Tactician Antonio

PostPosted: Fri Jun 25, 2010 5:44 pm

╚ Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. ╗
Antonio

The start of the battle was going well. The walls were taking significant damage from the mages of Antonio's army. Catapults crumbled to bits as meteors smashed into them. Soldiers who were unfortunate enough to get in these boulder's way were knocked right off of the wall. Their fate was sealed. Even still, this city was vast and strong; their siege was putting up a good fight. However, quite frankly, these defenses didn't stand a chance. All of the city's southern siege was decimated and the mages were now beginning to incinerate the ones east and west. Beatrix's army could get the rest.

Bale watched the battle unfold, paying close attention to how many soldiers had magical siege left to cast. There was almost enough free hands to send in as a first wave. He also had to be aware that they were one of the two armies that could be used to heal troops. An area had been set up for the wounded, and designated healers were standing by. Iason was already hard at work healing the wounded that had been brought in. He was faster than the others, and got to more patients.

Suddenly, while Bale's attention was directed toward the city, he thought he saw something large moving behind the walls. He could not make out what it was, for the holes they had made were not large enough. However, it was clear that whatever it was, was big. Then, without warning, a deathly blast of flames erupted from out of the walls. Bale's eyes widened in shock as troops from Felix and Esmerelda's army were burned to death. "What in the- what spell could cause such untamed fire?! ...Who could even cast such a thing?!" The sage obviously assumed that it was a magician of some kind casting a spell. He didn't realize how wrong he was. However, he did know that something had to be done about such a dangerous threat. "Wielders of Bolting, concentrate your attacks back south, behind the wall!" In response, those with boltings redirected their attack. The sky darkened over the south end of the city and large bolts of lightning rang down toward the source of the blast of fire.

------------------------------

The dark blast had come and Antonio looked up to see it. However, even though he had his tome out, he would not have finished an incantation in time to stop it from coming. Then suddenly... Lancelot of all people, stopped it. Antonio was surprised that he had done something for somebody other than himself. But he was not going to dwell on it; a battle had to be won.

"General!" Before Antonio realized, Caesar had gone into battle with the Estarcian commander. That wasn't good, the General had to be watched carefully, or he would lose control! Antonio made an attempt to make it over to Caesar, but was stopped by a javelin that nearly hit him. The tactician looked up and sneered at the enemy wyverns. They should never have been a problem. However, now they were. Antonio opened his tome to begin chanting, but then noticed that his sister practically alone. He wouldn't leave her to fight be herself. Antonio ran over to her, to act as support. It was even better that he did so, because the captives were behind them and they needed to be guarded.

He looked forward and saw two horsemen making their way over, weapons at their ready. Well, one of them had just thrown a weapon, but no doubt there was another blade to wield. "Fools... The Priestess does belong in the possession of the likes of you. And it is simply illogical to think we would release captives that would instantly turn to face us in combat." Antonio muttered as he reopened the tome. "Do not worry, sister... I doubt they will even make it over here." Antonio looked down to his tome and began to chant. The wind picked up. The more Antonio chanted, the more the wind began to spin until eventually, it formed into a fierce tornado. The snow and melted water began to be pulled toward the tornado and circled along with it. The water froze into shards of ice. "...Fimbulvetre!"

The tornado soared toward the oncoming riders. The ice shards flew out and pierced whatever they hit. The tornado picked up speed and began to whirl around the enemies. It's icy touch would be shocking at the least. Surely, even if the riders were unscathed, the horses would be more than frightened. They had instincts of their own, after all.

Eventually the tornado dispersed and the wind simply blew about wildly. However, the spell was not done yet. Right after the tornado vanished, the ice collected by it formed up underneath the horsemen and shot up into three crystallized looking pillars, large enough to completely freeze one or two people. The spell was not known as the 'Great Winter' for nothing. However, if the horsemen were lucky, they may have been able to avoid being frozen to death. Antonio would see, soon.

Esmeralda was surprised, honestly, at the woman's sudden proclamation at wanting a peaceful ending to their battle. Esmeralda backed up a little, knowing Antonio was already opening his tome. "If you wanted peace... then why would you send one of your men out to attack our general? I tried for peace! Multiple times! And if you had listened to us, listened at all... you'd understand...! We just... we have to get home, the Fire Emblem is the only way to do it!"

Esmeralda was astonished at herself, but she was already drawing more arrows from her quiver. Peace had failed at Altiplos. Her attempts at maneuvering information out of the fort without drawing blood had failed. Their final attempt at a diplomatic stand-off had failed. So why was this blue-haired woman now trying for peace? It simultaneously rang so insincere, ill-timed, and yet honest that Esmeralda could not make sense of it.

"We will get back to Archanea. And if you aren't willing to help us, then by Anri we'll figure this out ourselves," she muttered. She couldn't stop now. Not when she still had Antonio and Lancelot to defend.

Not now. Not ever.

Antonio had begun to cast Fimbulvetr at the approaching Paladin, and then at the horse-backed axe-wielder that was following them. There was always a chance his magic wouldn't hit properly, but one thing soldiers always seemed to forget about cavalry was the nice, big target they rode on. Not many horse-riding soldiers thought to protect their steeds properly. In effect, attacking the horse sometimes was even more effective than attacking the rider.

Esmeralda loosed multiple arrows. Two went towards the Dame Isadora's steed--one at the flesh of his belly (or what Esmeralda could see of it) and one at his breast, below his neck--and three towards the horse of the purple-wearing boy, at the horse's belly, breast, and another at the shoulder of his nearest leg.

Arrows were a lot stronger than they looked, after all.

Melethia hadn't gotten any more excited because there wasn't anyone that was challenging enough. There wasn't even a whole lot of people around now. Did they not have enough troops to get to the north side or were those people not there yet?

The fire sage had gone back to her Elfire tome since she wasn't going to waste the Arcflame on someone who wasn't worth it.

"Where is my challenge!" She yelled. "I do not want these useless foot soldiers!" Melethia then smelled something new in the air. It was a bit faint of a smell, but she could still smell it. This wasn't blood or even massive sweat. Were more people coming? If it was people, she wasn't sure how strong the people were so she fired an Elfire in the direction of where the group was coming from. Though she was unsure about what it was going to hit. For all she knew, Melethia could just be hitting a random bird.

(sorry needed to post again since I forgot to mention where Melethia was. I'm stupid sometimes.)

Okay, so the captains had refused her proclamation to release the captives. She knew that it wouldn’t go easy to settle this problem down.

“We didn’t send anyone to attack you!” Isadora shouted back. “In fact, we didn’t even know the reason behind that foolish soldier’s attack. I can assure you that we did not mean to end like this.”

However, the paladin knew it was too late. She couldn’t explain the reason behind the mess or what caused that soldier to attack. All she knew was that this was not everyone’s intention to end the war.

She then blinked at the Sniper’s comment. They wanted to go home? That was the reason they started the war? To go home? From where did they come from? If they happened to come from this world, then they were being irrational and foolish to start a war if they had no desire to conquer and wanted to go home. Unless… They were from another world like she and the others were?!

"We will get back to Archanea. And if you aren't willing to help us, then by Anri we'll figure this out ourselves."

So they WERE from another world! Well, at least now it made sense to the paladin behind this war tactic. But for them to get back home? Well… That would be hard to figure out. They believed that the Fire Emblem was their only way to get back home. However, the paladin was unsure how they would able to use it if they had the Fire Emblem. She knew fully well that they needed the Priestess and the Fire Emblem to activate its power. But as to figure out how they would get home, that was a different story.

“Now hold on a minute!” Isadora protested. She admitted that they had battled against them. However, that was because they didn’t know what was the enemy’s goal behind the war. And now that they knew the reason, this made the situation quite different.

Unfortunately, it seemed that the Archaneans had made up their minds. They believed that they had refused to cooperate. They believed that they wanted to destroy them. This was not helping each side at all to the paladin’s mind.

Just then, the paladin saw the Sage began to chant. A sudden, cold wind pricked up her hair at the back of her head. Unknowing what spell the Sage was casting, Isadora turned her head toward Leon and shouted.

“Leon, get away!”

Isadora snapped her reins, urging Tuomas to move away from the Sage’s range. More wind was picking up as well as the temperature dropped. She watched as snow and droplets of water began to spin around, forming into ice. Tuomas let out a nervous neigh as he heard the wind blewing harder, urging his owner to take cover. After seeing the spell performed, she remembered an attack that was exactly like the two of Nergal’s morphs cast. That Sage was casting an ice spell.

“Leon! Use your shield!” Isadora shouted as she held her shield up to cover herself and Tuomas’ neck. She quickly moved her horse as far away from the tornado as well as trying to protect herself and Tuomas’ weak points. It was a good thing Tuomas was wearing some armor for protection from sharp objects. It would be foolish if the paladin hadn’t placed it. At least she wasn’t like Marcus, having no protection for the horse when she was in Elibe.

Ice pierced against her shield as well as Tuomas’ armor, causing dents against the metal surface. She could see the icicles shred the caparison, exposing Tuomas' armor as well as his body. She let out a cried as she felt the ice pierce above her ankle as well as feel the icicles grazed against her lower back. The paladin held her cry of pain in her throat as she struggled to urge Tuomas to move.

It was quite difficult for the paladin to move away from the tornado while trying to protect. She could hear her horse neighed in fear of the wind more than being pierced. The Dame Knight tugged the reins and tried to soothe him, urging Tuomas that it would be okay. As much as Tuomas wanted to be away from the tornado, he obeyed his owner’s command. After all, he was trained to obey his owner as well as to handle the battle conditions.

Then the tornado had disappeared, the paladin lowered her shield and began to charge toward the duo. She hoped that Leon was safe from the Sage’s attack and proceeded to help her. As she charged forward, a pillar of ice suddenly sprung out from the ground, nearly missed her. Isadora let out a yelp when she saw the pillar. That was a close one. She thought as she continued charging. If another attack like that happened, she-

Another had sprung up behind her. She could feel the cold air coming from the pillar when it rose up. Was that Sage crazy? It was bad enough that he launched a powerful spell up close between them. He could have injured himself or anyone nearby. Now iced pillars sprung up from the ground? And here she thought that both Leon and Cyric were reckless to battle.

While the paladin charging, she saw something heading toward her. Two arrows were heading toward her. Hadn’t the sniper learn that she could dodge it?

Suddenly, she felt cold air forming in front of her. Fearing of what that attack might be, Isadora weaved her horse toward the right. Seconds later, the third pillar sprung out. Although the paladin had barely managed to dodge the pillar, she was unable to dodge the arrows’ course.

Isadora cursed as she lowered her shield to cover Tuomas’s side. Although she had stopped the arrow that was aiming for the stomach, she was unable to stop the other. The arrow struck against Tuomas’ peytral underneath the caparison, only to make a dent as it fell to the ground.

Annoyed with the attacks, Isadora charged toward them again. Although she knew well that the Sniper would have trouble to shoot if she was in closed range. As for the Sage, she was unsure how to avoid his attacks. She hoped that Leon had her back to defeat these two.

“Even if you manage to win this war and get the Fire Emblem, how will you be able to get home?” Isadora shouted. “You don’t know how to use their Fire Emblem or know its power! And even if the Fire Emblem is unable to take you back to your world, it’s nearly impossible to get back home! I know this too well because I’m not from this world either!”

Although the paladin had no idea if the Fire Emblem had the power to send them back to their homeland, she knew that there was another possibility for them. Isadora knew Leander had once given her and the others a chance to go back to their homelands by going through the Door. However, they were unable to go back since something had killed Leander, forcing the Door to be closed again. She was aware that the Door was ancient and powerful. However, activating the Door was impossible. They would need special keys in order to activate it and it was nearly impossible to find those keys. In fact, it was unknown if there were no more keys. So even if she told them about the Door, she knew very well that it would only bring disappointment if she were to tell them that the Door had never opened to those in this land.

User ImageLeon saw Isadora trying her very hardest to reason with the sage and sniper duo, trying to tell the truth. However, just as anyone would guess, they wouldn't give the Dame Knight the time of day! Still, who was that pompous magic-wielding Sage to say who's right it was to free other people? "In case ya dun' know... tha' priestess or them warriors in yer shackles belong to no one, so dun' act like ya own 'em all!" The Great Knight shouted in retaliation.

Something in Leon's words, or maybe it was combination of Leon's and Isadora's words... must have set Antonio's temper off. The single word "Fimblevetre" was enough to send a chill down the Lieutenant's spine, even before the ice started sprouting up. Hearing Isadora's warning to dodge it, Leon had Anri take off as fast as he could away from where the chilling ice spell would have spelled a nasty end for both of them.

He had to think quickly to dodge the further onslaught of ice that was coming, seemingly from all directions! Geez, was this Sage off his rocker or something? He'd never seen such force be put into magic, never in his life. Staying clear of the chill of Fimbulvetre wasn't enough though. Arrows raced towards Leon and Anri, causing the Great Knight to lift his massive shield in order to deflect them. The third one that was aimed for Anri bounced off the horse's heavy armor just as they did his master's shield. It was a good thing the two were fully suited up for this.

Esmerelda begun to clear the air, explain exactly why everything happened. They wanted to go home, using this world's version of Archanea's national treasure? "Tha's a good goal an' all, but... ya dun' even know if this Fire Emblem's got that kinda power! As far as ya know..." he said, as he rode alongside Isadora once again, to reassure her that he was indeed here to help her against the two Captains. "It could be used to open the treasure chests."

His last line was a risk to say. To Isadora, it might just look like he was guessing about the Emblem's powers, but the Archaneans would know that's what their Emblem was capable of. Would they notice it, that Leon was slightly hinting that he was from their world, and trying to reason with them? Or would they see it as anyone else would.. that he was just playing guesses at a holy relic that no ordinary man should have a clue about? Only time would tell.

While everyone else was on the ground fighting for their lives, somebody was having fun riding that tornado.

Wicked wings spread wide — wings that had been torn off in the dark autumn prior — the figure swung about in the air, riding the icy currents high above the combatants. How ever he was not assaulted by shards of ice was left up to the imagination, although the black winds that surrounded him and knocked the shards away gave a somewhat glaring clue. His robes and hair flapped in the turbulence, and his clawed hands were neatly tucked into his body as he rode along.

Swiftly, and with a silent whoop, he inclined and swerved into a rapid descent. He'd watched enough of the battle. Perhaps now he'd see it up close and personal. The figure shot down as the tornado dissipated, and his senses informed him that the spell had more to it. He watched in fascination as the ice formed into pillars. They emanated with such Cold that even he was unnerved, but with the angle of his descent, he figured he'd be safe.

Neros swooped down with all the acceleration he could gather and swept down at Leon.

Ten points! he declared to himself, rapidly rising into the air. He did not stop to see if he'd knocked the Great Knight over. Neros immediately swerved into another sharp stoop, this time aimed for the caster of that tornado spell, Antonio.

Clearly, he wasn't taking sides.

Not long after FD had successfully unleashed a Flametongue towards the opposing side without damaging the city, ready to take out anyone else that would attempt to enter through the hole FD was guarding - the clouds started forming above him. And then the lightning started shooting down. Damn siege tomes. FD considered whether he should transform back into his substitute form for the moment. As a dragon, he didn’t exactly care for soaking up Thunder-based attacks which his substitute form wasn’t weak to. But while his other form was neither susceptible to thunder attacks and much smaller and harder to hit, the frailty of it couldn’t compare to the endurance he had in his natural draconic form. He’d have to take the hits as he was.

Still, he wasn’t just going to stand there and invite all the lightning bolts to strike him. He had to get moving! Besides, there were other holes in the south side of the wall the Archaneans could and were traveling through to be dealt with. FD turned to the right to get moving just as the first bolt of many came down and struck the Fire Dragon. Damnit, lighting hurt! FD had to stop momentarily after being hit simply due to the nature of the attack before he could attempt to hurry out of the vicinity the darkened clouds loomed over. But fortunately for him, the enemy didn’t know his absolute exact location and just as there were Bolting spells that successfully hit their target, there were plenty of Bolting spells that missed him, giving him the opportunity to shuffle out of shadows the clouds from which the attacks came remained. Still, the onslaught of Bolting spells had been damaging. And while the dragon had more than plenty of stamina to spare after that, he couldn’t ignore the soreness he felt throughout his body; especially the spots on his back that where the lighting had struck.

The dragon made his way west towards other holes that had been made. Unfortunately, troops had already made their way through them, primarily mounted ones. And since they were already in the city, FD couldn’t fire his Flametongue at will against them. He might if he focused it to be streamlined through the streets assuming the snow on the ground took care of the fire on the ground before it could spread, but it would be something of a risk – and there was no reason to take a risk if the need didn’t present itself. Besides, he still had his more than lethal claws and teeth to work with. He continued west for a while before finally encountering some of the troops that had successfully made their way into the city in the distance, almost entirely mounted on horses. Horses should be scared of dragons, right? This could prove to be an excellent opportunity.
