He chuckled. "Alright- note to self: Zurina will beat up any and all stalkers..." he said teasingly, eyes upturned, as if he was writing himself some sort of mental note. "Yeah, we do make a good pair, don't we?" he mused before pushing himself onto his side, setting his head on the sand, but resting the top of it against her paw.
"Pssht! You may have been one of the best dancers at home, but where I come from, all we do is sing and dance... And play drums," he said, thinking affectionately about his mother. She was sooo very into drumming. "So Mat and I specialized in it- the two of us are on fire," he said, reminiscing with a genuine smile. "And that's all good- but when I ventured into the roguelands on my quest- our pride does that, the youth go on a self-discovery journey- I found that... Well, there were a lot of lions out there that didn't dance, or listen for music... I think it's sad- so if I can spread the art, I will! After our dance off, you and I should come up with something together," he said. He had danced with girls before, but never one-on-one... More like when the whole pride danced. "I'm pretty sure that with both of our awesomeness combined, we would be so cool that everyone would love it," he said before realizing he was rambling; a sheepish grin spread across his face.

"Dancing wasn't the only thing my pride did but it was a specialty of theirs," she told him thoughtfully. "Especially during ceremonies, everyone danced but only the best were chosen for the special dances," she continued thinking fondly of the last ceremony she had been present for. "I was chosen to dance for one of the last ceremonies I attended, it was quite the honor."
She closed her eyes as she listened to him talk. His voice was soothing, she liked listening to him talk. "Probably helped that mama was one of the founders, she was really talented in dancing, she taught me everything," she admitted curling her tail around her tightly.
"Sometimes you have to get out to see the world to find out what you want," she mumbled though she had completely resisted leaving the ocean at first. She had left only that the insistence of her muse, the voice she no longer heard. It was for the best.

"Get out- really?" he asked, tilting his head toward her to see her face. "That's so cool! It's cool in two ways," he held up a paw and touched it once. "First, that you got chosen to dance- so I suppose your skills must at least rival mine," he said, touching his paw again, "And second, that your mother was a founder! My mom was kind-of a founder of my home pride!" he said, giving her something of an incredulous look. What a coincidence- another thing they shared in common, he supposed. "She wasn't the queen, but like... The second in command. Anyway, what were the ceremonies like?" he asked, always happy to hear of other prides. His pink eyes remained on her, awaiting a description.
"Yeah... That's the truth," he said to her mumble, a little smile on his face. Haku missed home, but he was glad that he had left- it was a good choice for him. He hadn't ever been such close friends with anyone before... Well, there was Matata, but he was Haku's twin: that was different. Other than family, he hadn't ever truly been interested in what someone had to say the way he was with Zurina... It was cooler than his other friendships back at home; he was glad that she had been destined to come to the same lands as him.

"I was really honored," she replied, feeling her face heat up in embarrassment. She was proud of her abilities but sometimes talking about them made her far too bashful. "Yeah, mama's amazing. I never really knew my dad," she admitted with a small shrug. "He wasn't mama's mate, I guess he had disappeared which isn't too odd considering the ocean can be so deadly sometimes, but I think he came to the Kiza just as I was leaving it. So I missed him, but mama says I take after him most." Though she had never known the purple lion she was proud that she bore his colors and looked so much like him.
"I'll tell you all about them later," she promised as she let out a yawn. "But I'm sleepy, we should take a nap," she told him curling into herself.

Haku nodded and smiled. "It sounds like it would have been awesome to be at," he admitted. Let alone dance in. He shuddered at the thought of that- just being swallowed by the ocean, never to be seen again... What a chilling way to go. "I've never met my father. Probably never will," he said with a chuckle. "That's just the way my mom is- she's... Well, she isn't into the idea of settling down. So he's off in the world somewhere, but I know enough about him." he said with a yawn. The sun beat down on him, and his black mane gathered the heat quite well. "Sounds good," he agreed, curling up beside her, a peaceful day having come and gone in their new home.
