Jex smiled happily and was about to say something more, when there was a knock at the door. She opened it a jar and listened to what the person said from the other side to her. There were some nodding and gestures with the hands, obvious signals that they were disscussing something. Finally Jex sighed and agreed with the voice and shut the door. "Looks like your brother has already stared to attack our villages and have already killed some of our knights and soldiers. I am sorry that I must leave you now, but another knight will protect you until I return with my regimant tot he castle after trying to confront this ordeal. OR at least heal the wounded," she told him and smiled, taking her glove off and showing him by lighting her hand with light and then putting it back on to hide it. She bowed to the Prince and the newer kinght and went on her way.

Once Jex left the knights quarters and traveled to the nearest attacked city, there were noticable signs of killings and burrial upbringings around the area. They all trot on their horses, the beasts themselves scared of the feeling the places gave off. Many of the other knights were either disgusted or questioning things about what they saw, wondering how to really handle these... zombie things. Suddenly, one lept out and onto a knight from a building and slashed his throat with a rusted blade, killing him instantly. There was nothing for Jex to do to the knight for he died suddenly like that, but she could do what she could to that... thing. She sought the sword at her side and striked down first before the others at the creature, killing it.
"That couldn't have been the last one, nor could it have been its leader. They must be hiding somewhere, waiting for the oppertune moment to stirke us... Stay together" she ordered them, not really realizing it wasn't her place to say that, but the general at the time didn't mind it and even told others not to wander around so freely.

User ImageAlden was glancing about, that knight was taking longer than he would have expected, grimacing as he looked to his sister. He was almost startled to see her expression since she looked like her lesser known nickname. She looked like she wanted to tear the goddamn building down. "Raven..." He started, but she held up a hand, suddenly turning away from the doors. He briefly looked to the confused guards, and by the time he was looking at her again, she was already pulling at the water in the air, opening up what looked like a portal. "Hey, Raven-"

User Image"What do you want me to say Alden? Lets just wait while people are killed? MOVE!" Raven snapped, disappointed that their King did not respond to her call, making a note of it as she stepped through the portal. At this point, there was no use in it. Time was wasting and she didn't like it. Next time she'd just go talk to the Commander if the King of Narnith was going to be like this. She did always hate politics.

As she moved through the portal, she rose up from a river near one of the towns that was struck, her sword drawn. She could hear screams from the buildings ahead, narrowing her eyes as she saw people running from the zombies. She could sense the fresh blood in the air, the wave of death hitting her as she darted forward. Her sword flashed and she took down one near her, spinning as she slashed another as it came towards her. The villagers ran in an attempted escape, straightening as she tried to get a sense for where the main necromancer was. Unless he was taken care of quickly, this would be drawn out.

Alden stumbled out of the portal after her, drawing his rapier a bit more clumsily than her. He was startled by this scene. Blood was cast about haphazardly, there were dead bodies everywhere and... He stiffened as he caught sight of the zombies, his lips tightening as one took notice of him and started to stumble towards him. Tugging at the water in the air, he formed shards of ice, throwing them forward to spear through the heads of these creatures. Since they were so slow moving it was relatively easy to hit them, running forward after his sister. At this point, he would just be good backup. And where were the soldiers?

He startled as he saw bodies of these guards laying amongst others, unable to really focus on it long as more zombies lumbered towards him. He was as fast as his sister when he struck, cutting through the dead flesh, throwing out shards of ice if he needed to.

As she sensed Alden's approach, she did not hesitate to move forward, her body almost seeming a blur at times as she dispatched these undead beings. It was sick. It disgusted her. But this was almost nothing compared to other things she had seen. With that, she suddenly summoned a whip of water that extended from the center of her palm, flicking it about. It flashed like the metal of her sword, slicing through the putrid skin and bone. If she were a necromancer, where would she command such troops?

Ducking down from a lunge, she cut the zombie in half, flicking her one finger towards it's forehead, the whip becoming a long stalagmite of ice that shot through the head. Ugh. As the body slid away, she ran through the streets and dispatched the beings, knowing her brother could take care of himself. Had to find the necromancer. She had to.

Garet was slowly recovering, and when Where did happen to get a chance to wander around town again, he didn’t think that the damage was really that bad. There had been and still were murmurs and angered discussions of the attack from undead before. Undead were not associated with good things, and it was clear that people’s opinions of Robert had turned for the worst as well as with Narnith.

Later, the teacher asked him about the spell Where had used. The red head responded that it was something he had picked up from his visit to Gorc right before Paulb, and that he was still trying to get the hang of it. It turned out that the teacher was a specialist with light magic. If that was the case, the teacher should know the basic spell. What are they teaching these days? Makes me wonder if I should take on an apprentice. Or perhaps, it was why Paulb was not known for magic users or for its magic schools. Where realized his mistake when he explained the spell without the extra boost he had applied to the teacher. He had executed a tweaked version of a simple light enhancement spell, one that he had modified himself and thus wasn’t in standard teachings, and he had just shown the teacher it. He was still safe though since he had passed it off as something he had picked up in Gorc, which conveniently was mysterious to the other countries. And he had not properly executed the spell every time to make it seem as if he hadn’t mastered it.

… and it appeared that the teacher already had the hang of it after a two tries. He really was just a light specialist after all. “Something doesn’t feel right about this spell, Where. I don’t think you should use it.”

And why? Because it’ll suck your soul out? Where wanted to joke, but that would be very unlike the character he was portraying and most likely put the teacher on guard considering the recent undead attack. “What’s wrong?” There was nothing wrong with the spell, and it sure didn’t suck souls out.

“It has a slightly dark-” Before the teacher finish answer, a bunch of armed people burst into the room shouting for Where’s capture and forcefully grabbed the red head. “What is the meaning of this?” the teacher demanded.

“He is from Narnith. His Majesty has ordered the capture of all Narnithians. They’re all conspiring against us and in league with evil!”

The teacher frowned. “Damn Narnith, but this boy helped us.

“And what if he was connected to the undead? They only showed up after he arrived!”

“That’s prosperous!”

At this point, Where spoke up cheerfully. “It’s ok. I’ve never been in a jail before! It’ll be part of the learning experience as a mage in training!” the red head declared as he was dragged away and shoved behind bars in the guard house. That was a lie. Because Armand hadn’t been anywhere near the perfect obedient student type, his teacher had created a prison for him at some point to punish him, but the mage had gotten out. That eventually led to the creation of the summon and its eventual final form… and even further down, apparently the summon’s theft. “So, now what?” The guard glared at him. Interrogation? Ah, the effectiveness of paranoia. It never grows old toying with people’s minds.

Where’s calculated responses were vague and innocent sounding, but they were phrased in a such a way that they could sound potentially suspicious. In their paranoia, they almost freaked out in front of him. When they came back to his cell, Where asked what was going on.

“You’re being shipped off to the capital, and you can tell them what’s going on even if you won’t tell us here. The king found a spy the other day. Maybe you’ll share the same fate. I hope you do, for all the misery you’ve caused us.”

Apparently, the townsfolk had decided that they stumbled upon something potentially important and contacted the capital on their suspicions. Where made no attempts to escape. After all, he wasn’t supposed to have the capability to escape, and he had the feeling it’d be more interesting staying for the moment.

User ImageRobert blinked a bit as Jex was called to leave. His brother was making his move, and right now Robert was mostly defenseless. His Bizen was in another town hidden away while the bracelet prevented his use of magic.

After an hour of the team having left, some undead began to appear surrounding the castle. Robert looked out the window to see them starting to attack the guards along with the guidance of a wraith. "Damn! That town attack must have been a decoy!" Robert spoke as he rushed out into the hall.

Some of the undead had broken through the front gate. As one shambling corpse raised a sword to deliver the fatal blow to a knocked-down knight, Robert rammed himself into the undead, knocking it to the ground. Robert grabbed the sword before it could hit the ground and offered a hand to the knight. "We need to find the wraith and take it down!" Robert called out to the other knights.

Robert saw the wraith from the corner of his eye. While the knights engaged the undead horde, Robert began to make his way to the wraith. Running up the wall until he gripped hold of one of the flag banners, the young bring then began to run back and forth until he had enough momentum to run along the wall and jump off onto a tree branch. Hopping down to the ground, the young prince engaged the wraith. the wraith used a scythe to attack, keeping the prince at a distance, but the prince was merely biding his time in the battle, waiting for an opening to strike the undead down.

*************************

User ImageOne of the knights came into the throne room, kneeling himself down before the vampiric lord of the castle. "My lord, a Narnithian has been captured and is on his way here. What would you like me to do with him?" the knight asked.

Erik rubbed his chin with a finger as he thought. If this one was a spy as the other one was, he would have to think of some amusing tortures to inflict upon the poor soul. If it was a simple civilian...well, torture still sounded like loads of fun. "Bring the prisoner before me. From there, I shall decide his fate." Erik spoke.

Once the mob of people had brought the boy to the castle, the knights would escort him to the king. Upon the boy's arrival, Erik felt a rather powerful sense of the arcane within the boy. "Leave us." Erik commanded. Folding his hands before him, the king looked down to the boy. "My, my, what a pleasant disguise you wear boy. You hold power that no mere youth could be taught. Tell me your purpose for being in my kingdom." Erik spoke with a calm tone of voice, though his eyes shown with amusement.

((I'm going to hold off the Hount knights until more stuff happens in the Narnith battlefields.))

As luck would have it, by not escaping, Where had apparently gained an audience with the king. Not what he was shooting for, but nevertheless, it was fine with him. It gave him a chance to literally see who the new king was, and it seemed that the new king of Paulb had magic abilities as well.

The ride hadn’t been all that comfortable, but that was to be expected as he was a prisoner with his hands tied behind his back, and the people of Paulb didn’t quite look kindly on Narnith now. “Oh, nice castle!” he had commented and duly received a glare and a shove from a knight when the castle knights retrieved him from the mob to the castle. They led him to a set of grand doors, which opened up to the throne room where the dark haired king was perched on his golden throne.

Where looked up cluelessly and in faked wonder at the king who towered over him, but then the king dismissed everyone and made the comment. The red haired boy dropped the clueless look to answer. He smiled innocently and tilted his head. “Just to visit, but you seem to have an undead issue here, Your Majesty.” He nodded with a smile. Again with the double meaning phrases. Although he had addressed Erik as “Your Majesty”, he had no intention of bowing, and he had no intention of revealing himself unless he had to. However, with Where’s habit of pushing buttons, his actions could force him to depending on the king’s responses.

User ImageOnce the area was cleared a bit, Alden watched as his sister flew off. And he swore, thats what it looked like. God she moved fast. Even in all that armor. He could only imagine how fast she was out of it. He wasn't allowed his thoughts for long as more undead showed up, propelling himself up to the roof of a building via a sort of water geyser, glad to find no zombies up here. Glancing around, he had a good view from here, closing his eyes as he took a deep breath. His hands almost seemed like they should be rolling a crystal ball between them, casting them down to the ground as he exhaled slowly. Suddenly spikes shot up from the ground, impaling all the zombies he had seen in the area. At this point, it was up to his sister. He could keep doing this for a while.

User ImageShe was about to cut down a zombie when she saw the spike of ice, smirking faintly to herself. He had learned well. Sensing movement, she suddenly rolled to the right, dodging as a scythe blow came down where she had been standing. Ah the wraith had been found finally. Up on her feet, she didn't leave him time to bring down the weapon again. A range weapon was useless if you didn't allow them to get a chance to swing if about. Close quarters, it would have to either go into melee or get creative. Oh it smelled rancid.

The two engaged into battle, more undead starting to appear from buildings, but she couldn't allow to be distracted. No, this one wasn't going to be easy.

((Hmm... so are Alden and Raven in Narnith? I think im confused))

User Image
What Elly/Jex said was true, but it was also confirmed that something was to happen, and that was what became so. One minute her and her rank were on their horses and then the next, they were being attacked by a hord again. This time, the hord was more intelligent than they were stupid, and some of them were knights. Jex eyed them up and glared at them, her rage at them turning knights and civilians into zombies was ridiculous, not to mention wrong on so many levels. She summoned a bow out of a drawing she did in the air and extracted an arrow out of an orb also produced by herself, all taking about a half a minute to do it. She aimed it at the horde and before letting it go, she yelled, 'HHHAAA!!!' at the top of her lungs and let go of the arrows. As they whistled through the air, the light became amplified, and it somehow killed the zombies there, the light purifying them.

Her fellow knights thanked her, but she had no time to welcome them for she whispered into her horses ear and it took off in the direction of the capital of Fuler. She knew that her father and mother would be in desperate need for her and that danger could lurk there at any moment so she was certain she should return, it was a gut feeling of hers that she had. As she raced towards the capital in general, she was accompanied by other knights who were either at their homes or called into duty. Jex rode with them until they reached it, civilians screaming and running from rampant zombies and others that were running around in the panic or everything. Jex whistled her arrows past them and nailed everyone, her aim very good for her skills.

She soon reached to where the castle was, the hordes being the strongest and the most intelligent of all, which ment that the one who was leading them was there somewhere.

"Sir, we need to get you somewhere safe, please!" the kings butler and personal servant urged him, the king trying his best to get papers in chests and to tell generals what to do. The butler was so persistant that the next thing he did was try to knock out the king. Unfortunately the king knew that this would happen... somehow... and caught the butlers arm before he was impaled with a wall candle labra.

"I know that you want to get me somewhere safe, but my place is with my people. If I run away from them now, without a fight toward these... zombies, then who am I to be their king? If I die, it won't be in vain for anyone or thing for I am doing what I know is right. Please take Elizabeth and Elly to safety for me. That is an order!," the king ordered him and with a final firm stare, he ran on his way down the hall towards where his aromor and swords were. As he grabed them and went outside, the hordes were everywhere. He sighed and yelled out, a loud 'HHHAAA!!!' issuing out as he brought a long and decorative sword with wings, the family heirloom, down and swung up, a misty blue clashing with the bodies of the zombies and incasing them in a frozen state, only to be hit again and shattered into millions of pieces.

(( Yep. Been there the whole time. xP ))

User ImageAlden jumped as a hand shot through the roof, really wishing that he could just use light and purify all this. Rolling back, he made more spikes, destroying the ones that were coming for his sister. Geez she was doing well against that Wraith. Jumping off the roof as more hands shot up, he landed lightly on his feet, sighing lightly. And here he was thinking he could get a chance to rest back home without having to fight anything. Maybe find some cuties, serve some drinks, all that jazz. But no, nothing could ever be quiet and calm, could it? Spinning, he slashed through a zombie coming out the back door of the house, hearing an angry screech come from his right towards where his sister was.

User ImageRaven let out a growling shout, stabbing forward, breaking through the wraiths scythe which seemed to upset it to no end. Turning her sword, she brought it back up and stabbed again, ice seeming to explode from her sword, spiking throughout it's whole form. The robes seemed to crumple as she pulled out her blade, and she grimaced, glancing behind her towards the zombies that were stumbling towards her. They sort of stopped and looked dumbly at her before crumpling to the ground, the souls of whomever they had been now able to rest.

Turning to her brother, she wiped her blade off on the dead wraith's robes, sheathing it as she straightened up. "Shall we move on? I'm sure this wasn't the only village to be attacked." She called, walking over to where a cart was one fire. Grabbing a log, she tossed it on the wraiths corpse just to be safe, then heading over to her brother.

Alden relaxed as it seemed to end, wiping off his rapier on a cloth he kept in a pocket. Sheathing it, he observed her burn the corpse, brushing his long hair from his face. "Probably. I wonder if the-"

Marianne suddenly seemed to appear from one of the puddles nearby, though it was merely the image of her, looking to her two children. "You need to come back. They are attacking the castle. Your father has run off to help. I stayed behind to help get people to safety. Hurry! I think the King is fighting as well!" She called before fading, leaving her children to move.

She should have known that. God dammit why hadn't she.... Gritting her teeth, she swore under her breath, opening up another portal for her and her brother. "Come on!" She bolted through it, arriving near the palace as some guards were about to be mauled. Coming down hard, her whip of ice cut through one while her sword cleaved the other. "Thank me later, now go give aid to your King!" She snapped, the two seeming startled and they nodded before running off. With that, she glanced about the gardens, running to the nearest clump of undead to hack them to pieces.

Mother.... Alden looked to his sister and he saw how she was furious with herself. "Raven-" He started, but she was already moving. He frowned, sighing as he shook his head, running after her into the portal. It shut as they left, leaving the run down village.

As he came out, he had to draw his rapier in seconds, stabbing downward into the undeads skull, almost landing right on top of it. Joy. She gets the smooth landing. I don't. Grimacing, he ran towards the palace, calling up the water in the air to propel him up above them, glancing about to where he could see these zombies running about. His eyes seemed to flash a brilliant blue as he summoned up shards of ice from the air to stab through them like back at that village. Guards looked up confused at the sudden intervention, Alden giving a sort of salute with a smirk from his nice high viewpoint.

User ImageRobert continued his battle with the head wraith, his sword clashing with the scythe of the demon. As the wraith slashed horizontally at Robert's side, the prince used the bracer on his arm to block it, causing the anti-magic runes to become inactive as the runes themselves were ruined by the weapon's unearthly energy. As the wraith brought the scythe overhead, Robert quickly chanted a spell, gathering mana into his unarmed hand and then launched a Magic Missile spell directly into the wraith's face. The force of the spell knocked the enemy backwards. Robert soon followed up with a Fireball spell to destroy and incinerate the wraith.

With the death of the wraith that had summoned the undead, the skeleton soldiers fell into piles of bones while the zombies became disorganized. Robert entered into the fray to help slay the remaining enemy forces. He needed to make sure the undead were unable to be reused, and as such the prince began casting spells of ice upon the zombies to help the knights shatter the undead legion.

User ImageOne of the knights came into the throne room, kneeling himself down before the vampiric lord of the castle. "Yes, no thanks to Narnith. However, I doubt you came into my country for that purpose, considering how recent these attacks have been." Erik replied in a calm, unamused tone of voice. He was not one to anger easily. He certainly knew better than to let emotions get the best of him.

"According to the people, you came from Narnith, and ironic that when the people of Narnith began becoming bolder in my country, that was when these attacks began. Not to mention I have yet to hear back from the messenger I sent to Narnith over four weeks ago. Would you happen to know anything about that?" Erik asked, cocking his head to the side. It seemed they were both playing their perspective personas. Erik as the calm, concerned king and this boy as a novice. However, Erik had a strong feeling that this boy was hiding his true identity.

Where smiled sadly when the king mentioned Narnith as the cause of the undead attack. He looked at the knight who entered and knelt, wondering if something else had happened. The red head then turned his gaze back upon the vampiric king. “Umm, sorry, Your Majesty. I really don’t know anything about Narnith. To be honest, I was in Gorc for the past year training. I came here to study water magic since there’s so much snow here. I guess I have bad timing. Ah, hehe?” He had been in Gorc for the past year. That wasn’t a lie. This one is interesting in his own way, but things may get rather boring quickly if neither of us bends. “I’m a mage in training, and I want to specialize in water and healing sorcery. Maybe one day, I’ll be the greatest mage in the world.” Where smiled innocently again as if he was cheerful.

Patrol had been rather eventless besides the small fiasco with the boy and the two guards and Lady Mayu. The training skirmish was another story. Though Matthius was on Remy’s side, the older knight had tried to injure him. Matthius failed, but Remy tripped and would have died if it were a real battle since he would have fallen onto the blade of the opposing side. The skirmish had been cut off then. Something had come up, and the older more experienced knights and high ranking knights were called into a meeting. The rest of the knights were left to training and errands or patrols.

“Expect the unexpected in battle, Remington,” the elder knight that had withdrawn his sword and saved Remy from falling onto it said calmly.

“Yes, sir.” Remy nodded as he sheathed his sword.

“This may be practice, but you still must learn not to hesitate in wounding or even killing your adversary if necessary.”

“Yes, sir.” Remy nodded again with a knot in his stomach. He did not like hurting others.

As the elder knights headed in to the meeting, one of them called out to the younger knights. “Remy, make some preparations for packaged food at the sakehouse. Seems someones blown up the kitchen again... Matthius, go with him. Dismissed.”

The blonde knight glanced over at Matthius, who grinned, and made no comment. Remy walked to the exit of the training grounds, waited for Matthius to catch up, and began walking to Mayu’s sake house again.

User ImageAs the day progressed, something was making Mayu feel more and more on edge. There was something wrong somewhere and it bugged her. It was sort of like someone who wasn't really touching you, but their finger was so close they might as well be. It was rather annoying. She took care of the boy and saw him off, humming lightly to herself on the way.

Right now, she was back at the sake house, fewer people there as their shifts had ended. Though, they had probably just gone back to the rice fields to make both the sake and for various foods. She waved away a whistle and a comment from one of their regulars, blushing faintly as she brought them some more sake. "Oh please, I am not. I appreciate the gesture though." She called back, heading behind the counter as she gathered up the money as another few were leaving. "Thank you! Please come again!" She exhaled slowly, dabbing at her brow with a cloth she stored in her sleeve, sipping at a glass of water.

"Mayu-chan? Are you alright? You seem more tense." Nana called, brushing her bangs from her eyes. She was busy in the kitchen, helping with the cooking.

Mayu perked up, almost slipping into her half form since some did find it amusing when her ears twitched to sounds. "Oh I don't know Nana-chan. Something feels... off somewhere. I'm sure it's just me, don't worry about it." She answered, giving her a bright smile.

There wasn't too much conversation between Remy and Matthius as they walked to Mayu's restaurant. Matthius did mention to Remy that the boy had good luck in the skirmish, and Remy had responded that their duty was to protect the kingdom and its inhabitants.

"But I do wonder what came up," Matthius mused.

Remy was curious as well. The meeting for the higher ranked knights had been rather sudden.

"If that cook decides to blow up the kitchen more, we might as well just eat at restaurants every time."

Remy sighed. "The knights have a budget as well. We should not waste the people's resources that way." Before Matthius could respond, they had arrived at the restaurant. There still seemed to be quite a bit of business there. The blonde knight immediately looked for Mayu. "Lady Mayu, have a moment?" He then looked at Matthius. "Are we even going to be able to carry all of it back?"

((Feel free to control Matthius. I have no clue what exactly his personality is.))

User ImageFor the moment Nana seemed to believe her which was good. She hated to be a bother to her co-workers. Especially after they gave her a place to work and stay. She was a busy body serving food and sake, talking to a couple of the customers before she ended up behind the counter again. Phew it had gotten busier since earlier that day.

Hearing her name, Mayu looked up, spotting Remy amongst the crowd. A bright smile came to her lips, though it faltered a bit as she saw that one knight who caused trouble earlier. Moving past another serving girl, she excused herself, wiping her hands on the cloth once more. "Of course. Are you ordering this time?" She asked the two of them, glancing between them.

"I don't see why not. Unless one of the ladies would like to help us out." Matthius smirked, glancing around. He had to visit here more often. There were some beauties in here. Though, his inward grin sort of faded as he saw that girl again. Kitsune girl who stood up to him earlier. He folded his arms over his chest, allowing Remy to do most of the talking.

Mayu's eyebrow twitched as she overheard the trouble knight again. "I'm afraid we're too busy to offer such services. If you are looking for a girl escort, I'm pretty sure there are some down the street and to the right." She said sweetly, glancing and gesturing where she meant. She was talking about a brothel. It made her inwardly smirk to see how Matthius seemed enraged at that. It's what he got for being a perv.

Remy smiled at Mayu's greeting. He was about to respond to Matthius's comment when Mayu replied. Apparently, Remy had missed Matthius's actual point. He was going to mention something about it being impolite to carry too much.

At Mayu's response, Remy glanced at Matthius and noticed that he was not happy. Of course not... considering the exchange from earlier. Was that really what Matthius had been thinking of? Escorts?

"Yes, we'd like to order for the whole squad actually," Remy said calmly. "It is a big order, and we would be happy to wait or come back later to pick it up. Will this be an issue?"
