You remind me of the cat sometimes called Faithful, other times Pounce in Tamora Pierce's Alanna and Bloodhound novels. If you haven't read them you definitely should! It's black with purple eyes, can talk when it wants to, to who it wants to, and is a constellation put on earth to help the heroines.

The color scheme somehow brings to mind of looking out through an icicle at a snowy landscape lit up by a moon with a black night sky as a backdrop. burning_eyes The stuff I think up can be weird. :l;;
