Taki gazed at the male and couldn't help but feeling a spark of pity. He was teased about his pelt as she was with hers. She knew how alone you felt when others couldn't see past the pelt to the wolf inside.
Taki froze still as she saw the great white male seem to materialize out of thin air as she narrowed her eyes, seeing his were fixed on the pups as she growled low in her throat. Upon hearing the growl his gaze slid from the pup to the female whom was the source of it then disregarded her and gazed back at the pup as his jaws sunk deep into the flesh of the deer. Yanking his head back with a large piece of the deer in his jaws he dropped it at the pup's feet. "Pups need their strength..." he whispered as he backed away some sitting in the shade of a large tree. He ignored the shock in all of their eyes at the deer where he had bitten had crystallized in ice. "And you, purple one. Why do you growl?"

Rouqie swung her attention back to the Icy wolf. "You spread cold and sadness. My instinct demanded it." She shook her head. "But as we are all a little strange in our own rights," she looked between Taki, Icarus and A'cuil, "I will try to be more cordial in the future. Could you tell us your name? And do you wish to stay here long?"
She wanted to learn as much as she could, so she would know if he could be trusted.

xxxxxAfter seeing the look in the brown wolf's eyes, Icarus felt horrible for what he had said. He himself had been seen as an outsider in the Haven Pack at times and he understood the pain of being different. He whined a light apology, hoping the wolf would understand. As Rouqie spoke about hunting, Icarus listened intently. Neither of his parents had had the chance to teach him the ways of killing prey. Still, though, feelings of both fear and curiousity seeped into him as he considered the thought. As the piece of deer meant slapped ground in front of his feet with a wet sounds, Icarus flinched. He was relieved that the food was still available and had not been taken. After considering his stomach, he realized that he could manage another piece. Tentatively, he licked the meat. Crystals of ice sent cold shivers through his body as they melted on his tongue. He figured the meat was safe; the taste was the same as it had been before. So, he proceded to tear away pieces and instead of wolfing them down as he had done before, he decided to chew them and enjoy the meat for the first time.

Still not completely trusting this wolf, Taki watched Icarus eat the deer meat and shivered a bit not from the chill in the air but the chill of fear in her heart as she gazed at the white male. Pretending to show interest, the male gazed at the purple female and watched her. "It is custom to give your name first before asking for someone else's where I lived. But rules change when you move on. I am Departed. If you must know my specialty is medicine." His glowing eyes slid from the female's to the other she-wolf, black with odd green markings. The tuft of fur on her head was an oddity as well and he was puzzled about it but didn't let any of his emotions show.

"I am Rouqie, huntress of no pack, I suppose." She sighed internally, gazing at Icarus as he quietly ate his deer, wondering as the icy which had formed when Departed had been there, melted instanly as he approached it. He definitely had an ability, though less tangible than her's or Departed's.
"Departed... That is an interesting name. I hail from here in the forest. I've never seen someone like you, I'm bound to question your origins, your pelt is exotic, as are your eyes."

xxxxxIcarus soon cleared the area of the deer meat and licked his snout for a final taste. He was finally full once more, unable to take another bite. His body was clearly content as the sustenance was slowly adding weight to his skinny frame. He sat down and wagged his tail, slowly gaining trust for the strange glowing-eyed wolf. His head followed the discussion of the wolves and felt the urge to introduce himself, "Icarus!" He yelped when he found a moment of silence. This was the first time he had told someone his name, the name that his mother had given him due to his bright pelt. He was named after the mythical man who flew on wax-attached wings. That man flew to close to the sun and the wax melted, sending the man hurtling back to Earth. The story stung him, fearful of 'flying too high'. He began to stare at the rare wolf, realizing that his name was also a word. The thought made him bear a smile.

Taki nipped her head slowly before she smiled at the pup. "My name is Taki of no pack. Never had one," she replied as she gazed at the white wolf again. Interesting name you erm...have..." He could sense her unease, most animals feared him or were uneasy around him as he broke his gaze from Taki and Icarus to look at Rouqie. "I am from the mountains. That is all I can say. As for my looks...That even I can not explain. I don't know anything about my real parents but I was an oddity among my old pack."

The Old wolf seemed endlessly weary, vapor puffed from his nostrils as he breathed deeply, chilling the air about him despite the warm blaze of the sun above the treetops. The thick icicles protruding from his back glistened like gems, refracting the light to give the illusion they contained millions of tiny rainbows.
What a life he must have had, with such a dismal ability. Perhaps sometimes the blessing given by spirits were not always as benevolent as they had been with her...
Again Rouqie sighed.
((Sorry for not taking it anywhere, I'm gonna head off now. smile ))

xxxxxIcarus peered up at Taki as she told of herself. He flattened his ears as he heard that she had no pack. Icarus was grateful that he at least could relate to the Haven Pack, even without family. He then listened quietly to the ice-born wolf's words. He could hear the sadness of the story in his past. Carefully, he took a step out of the protection of the bright green wolf. From between her legs he emerged and took slow, cautious steps towards Departed. Each time a paw travelled closer, the air around him grew colder. In return, his warmth increased. After a few steps he dared not to approach the wolf any further. With a gulp, he released a yip directed towards the wolf.

Her answer made A'cuil curl his lip in distaste. Clearly, he was not going to be able to get away from this collection anytime soon. As he sat, stretching his legs in a gesture of indifference, he smiled at Rouqie. It was a genuine smile and sardonic in every inch. "I can teach young whelps," he replied, not insulted in the least, "if they can survive me." He was not a kind teacher, but a wolf of battle. He could grant a pup a howl that would resound through the mountains like thunder, but only if they wanted it badly enough to endure his brand of training.
His smile faded as soon as he had spoken, however, and he turned to lay his head over crossed paws. A'cuil watched the others interrogate the ice male, utterly disinterested in the proceedings but noting that he, too, was a mountain wolf. Who might have guessed.
Naturally, the big wolf kept one ear on the others, and the other ear on everything else. Upon hearing Icarus whine, that other ear flicked absently at Icarus in silent approval of his repentance. Apology accepted.

Haku looked back to his new friend, her name being Cratea. She seemed nice enough so far, so this was fine having her tag along. "It's this pup I found at my lake a few days ago. Just wanted to say, 'Hi' to her. Why are you out here all alone?" Haku hoped she wasn't like him, abandoned and alone in the world. It was never a good thing, never something he wanted for anyone. He continued to trot forward, but he had again lost his way. He wasn't used to tracking mammals, just fish, so of course he would loose the scent. He did however, he face stuck to the ground as he moves forward, trying to find the scent, but suddenly he felt a chill move over him as his noes it a but of ice on the ground.
Ice? In the middle of summer. He looked up to see a bunch of wolves huddled around fresh kill... Kill that had been torn apart now by several different wolves, but all there eyes were on one wolf. A white wolf with crystals forming out of his back. He stared at the wolf and backed up a little. "Do you know these guys?" asked Haku, turning his head to glance at Cratea.
Yuma watched the three talk back and forth, then looked to see Haku, the strange pup from the river. He seemed to have a friend now though. She moved to the two wolf pups and licked Haku, " It's dangerous for pups like you to be traveling alone. Especially for you Haku." Yuma nuzzled him down with her noes, playing with him. She then looked at Cratea and bowed a hello, "My name is Yuma. I tell Haku stories whenever we meet." Yuma smiled at Haku's laughter as he tried biting back her. She had to keep Haku occupied so he didn't worry about this new strange wolf.

Kora had watched the group without saying anything, curious about the strange white wolf and finding it amusing that he was a medic but had the ability to cause fear and sorrow. However, A'cuil hinting they might not be able to survive his training got her attention immediatly. The thought was... Insulting. She would take anything he through at her, if it would turn her into a warrior!
She trotted up to him and sat about two feet away from him. "When start?" She asked in her somewhat limited vocabulary.

Finally settling down, Cratea rested her nose on the ground, following his example. She didn't quite know what scent to be following, but it was fun. The multi-colored pup held her tail into the air, waving like a flag. "My nursemaid went to get something one day and she didn't come back." The statement was so cold, when in reality, Cratea didn't quite understand what the disappearance meant. As they came upon the group, the female pup stopped short, the icy cold scaring her voice to a small whisper. "No, but there's food." She stood close to Haku, hoping his dark coloring would help hide her. Unfortunately for them, her stomach gave them away by gurgling unhappily. Gasping, Cratea dropped her body low to the ground, her tail and nose quivering. As the adult approached, Cratea caught a faint scent from her.She remembered what her father had said when he had left her with the nursemaid. "Scent will save you, Crate. Run from those with none." It was the last thing he had said to her. Looking up, the pup slowly took a more natural pose again and her tail wagged gently. Her voice was still a bit lost.
