Thing is, that 'glowing ball' was now finished and charged. Lyra saw him racing towards her, but the attack was good and ready. The smoke bomb appeared between them - causing yet more interference - but as long as schee kept running in the same direction...
She did not know why she couldn't know the words before, was this her subconscious's way of telling her this attack needed time to charge? The words were loud and clear, screaming in her head to be said. "Nebula strike!" Once the words were said the mini nebula seemed to scatter around her and free flowed out of her hands like a heated tidal wave...straight for Schee.

Ha! Well it wasn't a punch or leap into battle he had hoped for, but the smoke pellet gave the last of his charge a much needed cover. Somewhere in the haze of his mind he swore he heard Lyra yell some attack, which only amused him further. Pfft, colored smoke attack in the middle of a smoke pellet? Useless! This battle was as good as his!
Schee burst out of the smoke, swinging his guitar. The weapon connected hard with Lyra, but not before the lieutenant got a face full of her new upgraded power. For a brief moment he was going to laugh it off. Smoke! Just obnoxious smoke and nothing more.
And that was about when the burning started. This smoke cloud wasn't the harmless little distraction it had once been. No this was a wave of super-heated dirt and glass and whatever else this hellish attack had managed to pick up. His strike had been made, but now Scheelite was doing anything in his power to get away from Lyra and the burning sensation. A net shirt wasn't much protection against anything at all, so his face and arms were the hardest hit. But the longer he dealt with it the more he could swear he could feel it even -under- his clothing.
Screaming (filled with obscenities), Scheelite quickly dropped to the ground and rolled. He was even tearing at his clothes in some vain attempt to get the burning to go away.

Zink hissed in irritation pulling off his own overcoat at the radient feel of heat from her attack, he didn't want to dive in but the sound of Scheelite screaming drew him forward afraid he was a human candle. He swung the coat back and forth to try and clear a sort of path through the smoke and pulled his turtleneck over his nose and mouth the best he could to try and minimize the inhalation of the coarse and burning particles. "Scheelite!" He called trying to get his bearings towards his fallen partner.

She had released the new power, and it left her feeling slightly off balance at first. Enough to where, the hit with the plastic guitar hit home and sent her flying. She tried to catch her footing but the hit to the head was just too direct. Instead she was rolling, and slammed into a nearby wall. Had she not recently classed up... the attack probably would have hurt a LOT more.
Standing up she pulled the hat from her stocking and brushed it off a little to remove any debris. Prize in hand, and negaverse duo distracted, Lyra decided now was the time to leave before they had a chance to reform. Turning around- she fled back towards the cover where the little kitten was probably waiting, giving the hat back. After a short discussion, and thanks to the cat, Lyra fled into the night.

Schee had squirmed his way out of the top of his uniform and tossed it aside. While things still burned the worst of it was over, and by the time Zink found his way to his partner's side the blonde was sitting back up and seemed to be okay.
Well...okay for anyone that had just had quite a brutal fight with their arch nemesis ending in a facefull of super-heated dust and glass particles. Yeahhhh...
"Z-zink??" The middle of a smoke cloud offered little visibility, but when Zink got to his side the other agent latched to his legs in a 'hug'.

Zink's first reaction, sad to say, to the ankle hug was to pull backwards. Really he'd say it was surprise more than anything else like 'PDA', after all there was a heavy cloud of smoke. But the reults were the same either way, he stepped backwards onto a can he'd just stepped over and went tail over teacups.
"SCHEELITE!!" He barked in irritation, not that it was really Schee's fault, he was however terribly TERRIBLY convenient.

"What?!" The blonde whimpered his reply, recoiling away from the other lieutenant. Zink found his legs released after he fell to the ground, and despite his injuries (and now lack of a vest) Scheelite was trying to help him up. Or...at least -would- have been if he could get himself steady on his own two feet first.

Zink took a few calming breaths as he stood and dusted off and then pulled Schee's arm over his shoulder to stabilize him.
"Nothing... nothing, Let's, just get you home." He said shaking his head. "... I can't believe you were just defeated by a kitten... a FLUFFY kitten."
He muttered shaking his head as he lead his partner away to safety.
