Ryu Aisu Tenma alright my question is this, is there a negative future tense, something like Tai Deshita or anything of the like. There is no future tense in Japanese. Present and future tense are the exact same, and you just have to figure out what is meant by context. This gets easier when you start using the "te imasu" form to say "I am currently doing". It's explained in a later lesson.

今晩、俺はカルビを食べた。
I think, for this lessen you should also update the list with the dictionary form of the words. When one knows the dictionary form(base verb form like "taberu"), all other forms are easier to grasp, save for the honorific forms. It makes other essential forms such as "te" form much easier to understand.

I want to eat chocolate. Chocolate wo tabetai desu.
I don't want to eat chocolate. Chocolate wo tabetai desu. > kunai
For verbs that you change to "tai" form, to change into negative replace the "i" w/ "ku-nai". The "nai" is negative and the "ku" makes it appropriate.
I don't want to eat chocolate. >Chocolate wo tabetakunai desu. I don't want to drink milk. >Milk wo nomitakunai desu.
Past negative>> Tabetakunakatta desu.
Tabetai > tabetakunai > tabetakuna-katta
Replace the "i" w/ "katta" and it changes it to past tense, like "deshita". You would pick one or the other in the sentence to make past/negative tense:
I didn't want to eat chocolate. >Chocolate wo tabetakunakatta desu. OR >Chocolate wo tabetakunai deshita. Hope this helped!! It's a bit confusing sweatdrop but there yah go! whee
>MORE> to sleep * nemasu want to sleep * netai don't want to * ne ta ku nai (netakunai) didn't want to * ne ta ku na katta (netakunakatta)
