Riku Yukimura The Ice Prince
[1/4] Riku quickly moved on to another water jutsu called the beach crab. He started by setting the stage for the technique, which required damp earth or water to be used. He quickly gathered water and doused the earth around him for the purpose of completing the jutsu. After that he did his usual routine of memorizing the handseals for the technique and moved on to actually attempting the jutsu.
[2/4] The first try, like many before it, did not end successfully. It seemed like there was a bit of a trick to summoning the crab to attack so easily. Riku practiced by using his chakra to control the beach crab pincers that came out of the sand to grab opponents. It was very tricky though, and having never done anything like this before Riku was unsuccessful on his next try.
[3/4] Slowly though Riku was perfecting the technique. He now had no trouble summoning the pincers up through the earth wherever he wanted them to appear. Now he had to concentrate on when to make the pincers make their grab. It didn't take too long, and by now Riku had nearly completed the technique.
[4/4] The last thing he needed to perfect was its speed at pulling down an opponent. Since it needed to be able to catch running opponents Riku had to get the timing down just right. Once that was completed though, the beach crab jutsu had been mastered. Riku grinned in anticipation for using it to stop an opponent in their tracks, and spent the next few minutes thinking up combo attacks to use after performing the jutsu.

Riku Yukimura The Ice Prince
[1/4] With only two more water jutsus to learn Riku speed read through the water shuriken technique. He left for a few minutes to gather water for practice, but soon returned. As usual he started by memorizing the handseals. Afterwards he short cutted his way through them by converting them into his own one-handed seals.
[2/4] Riku then attempted the jutsu. Nothing happened at first, but then several watery shuriken floated to the top of the water. Riku attempted to grab them but they quickly melted away in his hand. Still, it was progress.
[3/4] He then tried the jutsu again, getting more of a feel for it with every passing attempt. When he was confident Riku grabbed the water to give himself a handful of shurikens, which he then threw into a nearby tree. The shuriken broke soon after impact, but their damage was still that of a normal shuriken.
[4/4] Riku knew that merely having some extra shuriken to throw was no real use to him so he finished the jutsu by learning one last aspect of it. He learned how to fire the shuriken without touching them. As soon as he made the seals to summon them the shuriken shot out of the water into an invisible target. With the jutsu finished, Riku knew that the technique would at least be able to attack an enemy from an unsuspecting angle.

Riku Yukimura The Ice Prince
[1/4] Riku read through the Water Shield jutsu eagerly, knowing that it was the last genin level water jutsu he had to learn. The idea seemed simple enough. Just make a large plate of water rise to guard you, and make it hard enough to act as a decent shield. Riku started as always by memorizing the handseal for it. It wasn't very long, as most genin techniques were, and afterwards he converted it to a simple one-handed seal courtesy of his bloodline.
[2/4] After that Riku used the energy from the seals to raise the water shield and attempt to condense it. He tested it out by having a water clone throw a shuriken at him and the attack would've reached him if he hadn't jumped out of the way at the last second. It was clear that the water shield wasn't very reliable yet. Riku continued to try though.
[3/4] With additional practice Riku fixed his past errors with the shield. With a simple seal he raised the shield and kept it condensed enough to block attacks. He was becoming more fluent with the suiton techniques, and it showed.
[4/4] To finish the jutsu Riku learned how to manipulate the shield after use. Not only could he defend with the technique but could make a staggering counter with it as well by making it shoot out spikes, tentacles, and other stationary weapons. He had finally finished the genin level suiton techniques. Riku dropped the shield and allowed himself a well deserved rest against a nearby tree trunk.

Riku Yukimura The Ice Prince
[1/2] Riku unrolled the fuuton scroll the ANBU teacher had given him and read through the first jutsu, the wind clone. From what the teacher said he needed to master his two elements before furthering his ice jutsu training, so Riku was in a hurry to learn. The first wind jutsu had an easy handseal and concept, so Riku memorized it almost instantly.
[2/2] After that Riku just applied what he learned from the water clone jutsu to this. The only trick to it was using wind. Riku had to concentrate deep within himself to bring out the right kind of chakra for the technique, but he was successful all the same. A perfect wind clone of Riku formed itself beside him and waved. Riku sparred with it a little until he was confident that it was a perfect clone before dispelling it.

Riku Yukimura The Ice Prince
[1/2] Riku continued his fuuton training with the wind levitation jutsu. It looked simple enough from what Riku could make of it. Again the trick was to bring out his fuuton chakra to make it work.
[2/2] He spotted a nearby hollow log and decided to use that as a practice target. Riku sent out his wind chakra beneath the log and in a sudden blast of wind shot it up into the sky. It continued to soar upwards for however long Riku kept his concentration on it. Several seconds after Riku released his hold on it the log came crashing back down to the ground. Since it would be difficult to use on moving targets, Riku knew that it would at least be useful to send dropped weapons out of their reach.

Riku Yukimura The Ice Prince
[1/2] Riku scanned through a similar wind jutsu, the Retrieving Wind technique, with ease. It seemed almost identical to the Levitating Wind jutsu. However, Riku knew full well that unlike that technique this jutsu could be used on living objects as well as stationary ones. More motion based training would be needed.
[2/2] He took a walk around the area to find a living target worth retrieving. Along the way he practiced the jutsu by sending random sticks and stones to his hand using the wind to pull them to his body. Soon he found an unsuspecting rabbit and performed the final test for the jutsu by pulling the rabbit into his arms as it tried to scurry away. The rabbit surprisingly calmed down once in his hands, and Riku stroked its fur calmly before releasing it back into the wild.

Riku Yukimura The Ice Prince
[1/2] With only one last academy-level fuuton jutsu remaining, Riku was feeling more and more in tune with his wind chakra. He was quickly gaining control over it with every passing jutsu. Since this jutsu didn't need any handseals Riku pulled a kunai from his hip pouch and focused his wind chakra into it.
[2/2] Within seconds the blade glowed with a cutting edge and Riku hurled it at a nearby tree. The knife flew twice as fast as normal as soon as it left his fingers, and crashed throught the tree trunk with impressive impact. He had to pull hard to get it out again, and once he did he pocketed it for later. He was now ready to begin the more advanced fuuton techniques.

Riku Yukimura The Ice Prince
[1/4] After stopping to regain his chakra once more, Riku returned to his training. This time he was entering the genin level fuuton jutsus, starting with the Gale Surge. Riku read through it and memorized the handseal for it. It wasn't very hard to do and chances were Riku could perform it without the handseal at al.
[2/4] After becoming familiar with the jutsu Riku decided to make his first attempt. Using his chakra he distilled the air around him and then attempted to push in imaginary foe back. Unfortunately only a gentle breeze rushed out instead. It was not nearly powerful enough to blast a foe back.
[3/4] Riku practiced enforcing the power of his jutsu. With another try he was able to make a powerful blast of wind shoot out right in front of him. It was fully capable of knocking back projectiles and the like. Finally he was getting somewhere with the technique.
[4/4] He finished his training with the jutsu by practicing using it from different angles. No matter what he did Riku could not cause the powerful gust of wind to rush out in all directions. Only one direction could be used to fend off attacks, and even then it seemed to have a time limit before it could be used again as Riku's attempts at continual blasts also failed.

As Kai approaches the trees that Kanzo led him to, his mouth opens ever so slightly in awe of the mammoth sized trunks. Shooting Kanzuki a questioning stare, Kai asks disbelievingly, " This is where we're staying! How do you even get up there!" "I live to fulfill the dreams of those that came before me"

Kanzuki just let out a sigh as he focused chakra into his feet and walked up the trunk of the tree,"Well an Anbu taught me and Yama how to do this, but you may just have to climb your way up like I did my first time..." he stated as he looked down on Kai from the midway point of the trunk.

Yamatano arrived back at the treehouses, amused by Kai's perplexed look at how tall the trees were and Kanzuki's hanging on the branch. "Yea, you CAN do that, or......." He said, trailing off as he realized that Kaizen did not know that he could summon snakes. Heck, even Lord Mizukage didnt know! The only other person who knew was Kanzuki, though he knew Zin Naga held strong suspicions.

Kai set his face into a determined grimace as he readied himself for the climb. Noting how Kanzuki was simply walking up the tree, Kai shrugged and began to walk forward placing a foot on the trunk of the tree and then looking up at Kanzuki. Thinking it over for a moment a thought occurred to Kai, this was just a practice in chakra control, something Kai happened to be very good at. Smiling to himself, Kai closed his eyes as he began to focus chakra into the soles of his feet, making sure the chakra was evenly distributed to make a thin film of chakra between Kai's foot and the trunk of the tree. [.75/1]
Opening his eyes, a smile spread across Kai's face as he lifted himself up with his right foot and then took a step up the trunk of the tree with his left. Smirking to himself Kai shot Kanzo a playful grin as he said, "Race you to the top!" And with that Kai sped off, adjusting the chakra film on the sole of his foot with each step, learning the intricacies of the technique and how best to manipulate his chakra to gain the desired effect. Soon enough Kaizen was sprinting up the tree, almost seeming to glide around branches with an ease and grace that would be rather unnatural for a child his age. [1/1 Kinobori no Jutsu (Tree Walking Technique)/Kabenobori no Jutsu (Wall Walking Technique) learned]
Within moments Kai neared the top of the tree and the tree house that sat in its mighty boughs. Walking inside the centrally located room, Kai was surprised to find himself in a rather spacious and comfortable sitting area. Walking over to a plush sofa, Kai plopped down and let out a satisfied sigh. Then looking over to his companions, Kai said calmly, "so you said you needed to tell me some things?""I live to fulfill the dreams of those that came before me"

Kanzuki just laughed at how quickly his teamate caught on and got to the top of the treehouse just after Kai did," Well the thing is, we suspect Sound is up to something, they have been acting suspiouscly and one of them even attacked me in the marketplace, so keep your eyes open." Kanzuki stated as he lounged in a near-by lounge-chair.

Kai's expression quickly changed from happy content, to shock, and then just as quickly to anger as he rose up out of his seat to look at Kanzuki. "They attacked you! And they're still allowed to participate in the Exams! I hope you broke a few of their bones in kind!", Kai said angrily, clearly not amused that someone had dared to attack one of his friends. Shaking his head in disgust, Kai flopped backwards once more onto the plush couch before sighing and saying with forced calm, "Was there anything else I missed? I noticed you had been talking with a leaf-nin, a pretty leaf-nin no less!" Kai couldn't help but smile playfully at the end as he recalled the enamored look that Kanzuki had whenever he looked at the girl, Shayera was it?"I live to fulfill the dreams of those that came before me"
