"So then, you are free to spar now, correct?" Jane said, his memory finally processing the events of the morning. "I need some practice." He laughed, his fingers gripping his rapier, the one that he had no idea how he acquired. Apparently his parents had had money, or he had, since all his weapons were extremely ornate. By their appearance, they were obviously expensive.

"Ah, yeah." Nico answered, just glad her muscles didn't feel too sore from her training that morning. "Of course, shall we?" Gesturing towards the training room, she headed to it, knowing they would follow. His weapons were beautiful and well... her parents didn't get her one as awesome. Hers made sure she was equipped to handle herself should she need to. As if her spells weren't enough. Though, she hadn't really ever used her powers since she found out she could only use one spell once. Ignoring that for the moment, she glanced back to Jane since she just wanted to know what to expect. "Are we using real weapons, training weapons, just swords or all out? And, well... are we using powers or no?"

"Rapiers, I would prefer. And no powers, being that mine, as far as I know, haven't any effect upon you." Jane said smoothly as they approached the training room. "Fencing style, if you wouldn't mind." His orange eyes glittered, mostly from the anticipation of the match. Sure, in the morning when he first woke up his memory didn't work at all, but once he had a while, he could remember everything...excluding before that day he woke up and heard the voice.
When Jane spoke, a light, formal British accent (Welsh?) shown through just barely. Truly, he hadn't a clue where he came from, and he couldn't tell.

Nico nodded a little to that, alright. It made her smirk, touching a finger to her lips. "Er... I just don't think your own emotions leak out onto me. You can probably still make me hate someone." She murmured, now resting her own hand upon her rapier. It was a durable thing for sure, though it wasn't as ornate as his. "Aw, fencing? I'm a fan of saber style myself. I guess as long as it's not Epee." She laughed lightly, stepping into the training room. "Er, do we want to use gear or no?" She asked, glancing to the closet of equipment.

Amaya was in the middle of reading when one of the people that worked at the base full-time walked up. "Amaya, it's time for therapy." The woman murmured softly. "Yeah, because that worked out so well last time." Amaya laughed darkly. "Honestly, you people act like me talking about my feelings or doing something like gardening will help me find inner peace. That will never happen." She growled, but put the book down and followed her anyway.
They had Amaya gardening in the training room today, and she was doing so quietly, focused on her task, until one of the underlings from the base ran up with his buddies.
"It's that creepy girl." One muttered. "Yeah, she thinks if she acts tough, people will leave her alone. She's just a big crybaby who let her whole family get killed." The other laughed.
Her eyes flashing out of anger, Amaya grabbed a nearby edger. "I can promise you, it's no act..." She growled before turning, taking a small amount of energy from the earth as she swung it at the man's head, taking it off with ease. The plants she had been tending to died, and a dark bruise appeared on her hand. The man's friends went running for their lives, but Amaya only rose to watch the training session between Jane and Nico.

Gabriel was happy to finally see some action. Jane and Nico, huh? This ought to be interesting! Maybe I'll play winner? A million thoughts ran through his mind as he and the team made their way into the training room. At first he thought of taking a spot next to Amaya, but after seeing her fight off a pair of workers with an edger, he reconsidered, sitting cross-legged on the wall nearest the entrance. "I'll fight winner, OK?" Gabriel shouted, as things appeared to get underway.

Jane grinned. "Without, of course. If you'd prefer, we could do an old fashioned sword fight, until first blood. You chose." Hearing Gabriel, he laughed. "If you are still up for it when we were done." He was not implying that he was going to win, nor that she was; he was simply stating the fact that it would more than likely be a while before they got done.

Oh now? Making this interesting eh? Nico chuckled, stepping onto the ring as she drew her rapier, tying her hair back a little tighter. She used the belts on the back of her outfit to tie back the skirt more, revealing she was wearing some short black shorts. "Oh does this mean I'm no longer restricted by styles? I'm always up for a good fight. Till first blood. Ladies first." She teased with a chuckle, falling easily into a stance, her body appearing quite tense though in reality it was the opposite. He had said fencing style, but that didn't mean much to her. Did he mean epee? Foil? Saber? There were three to choose from with rather specific rules for each. Saber gave her the most freedom of attack for you could slash rather than simply stab. Epee and foil were similar in that you really could only stab for the most part. At least, if her memory served.

"Free style, not fencing...I just realized that I don't remember any of those styles." Jane laughed gently, drawing his rapier. He stepped forward into the ring, a broad grin on his face. "Just until first blood, whichever style you choose to use." As of late, he seemed to have invented his own very odd style, which only Nico had managed to combat so far.

Nico couldn't help but smirk, ah that would make it so much easier. and more interesting. "Very well." She had noticed Amaya in the background, debating calling her over so Gabriel could spar, but he had called winner and well.. she'd probably prefer to be left alone. She could smell the blood on the air. Taking a breath, she lunged forward with a quick jab, testing the waters and to get the party started. Save the fancy stuff for later. She stepped back quickly, waiting for his attack or parry.

Jane parried quickly, his rapier moving swift. The best offense was a good defense. Wait...was it the best defense was a good offense? While he was distracted by his thoughts, he sent out a swift slash, going at an angle with it was definite that it would be parried easily. Somewhere in his mind he knew what he was doing-he just didn't know where.

Nico blinked, knocking away the slash easily, wondering if he was distracted. She took the opportunity and stabbed forward twice, circling around to add a third quick slash to his arm. Jumping back, she was being careful to not take bait so easily laid. Or at least, not too often. Never know if it could be a trick.

Jane dodged the first two blows Nico threw at him, and parried the final. Twisting around, the confusion was evident in his eyes, and several people from the labs who had chosen to come down and watch appeared extremely confused. His eyes were glazed over as he spun around, twisting about Nico to get to her right side, just behind her peripherals. From there, he took a quick slash at her right arm, and then did the same to her left by twisting away. It wasn't obvious to him, or anyone else, that he may have hit, and he didn't know if he did or didn't. After both slashes, he twisted back in front of her and jabbed the sword towards her stomach.

Narrowing her eyes, she saw his eyes and it became clear that she adjusted for her body almost seemed to tense up more. Or at least appear more alert. Guessing where he would end, she turned and blocked the blow to the right and then left, spinning as she adjusted to face him, parrying the jab to her stomach. He had gotten close with that slash to the left, Nico now sliding forward with the force of her parry to stab at his chest, then his shoulders, and legs. Her movements were quick and precise, but held a sense of grace to them. Her feet seemed to dance as she side-stepped and slashed twice before she took a step back. Running forward she jumped up and pulled off a flip over him, stabbing downwards while remaining somewhat defensive. Landing, she spun on the balls of her feet, facing him in case he should aim to attack her at a more vulnerable point.

Jane moved to dodge each attack, and their sparring match no longer appeared to be a sparring match. No, to spectators they would seem to be dancing with rapid effect. A swivel with his sword, he parries the blow shooting down, making sure she was facing him.
His eyes suddenly began to be alert; there was evidence that his confused fighting was over. He was done with his line of thought, back in today. Grinning at her, he backed up, standing still. Perhaps he had a reason behind this, perhaps he didn't. "So, what did I miss?" Jane asked, staying still as he watched Nico's graceful steps.
