Sad... This is a terribly sad state of affairs... Either spellchecking has driven me insane, or I've just noticed that most people make the exact same mistakes. Now, it's not a problem if you misspell words that aren't particularly common, the tricky ones. It's never a problem if English is not your native language. However, there is always a limit to patience. If native speakers of English, those who have been born and raised speaking it, can't even follow the simplest grammatical and spelling rules... It's....sad.... *cries*
Do the people really have no knowledge of what is correct? Are they just too lazy to double-check their posts? What must be done to maintain consistency?! Must I chew out all thine native speakers until they submit to the standard order? Must I begin to offer lessons that no one will probably read, no less pay attention to? Must the world be wiped out, completely leveled to the most primordial layer and started anew?! WHAT MUST BE DONE?!
....or I could just relinquish my job as spellchecker. I really don't see that happening anytime soon. There must always be a least one who will keep order, oppose the chaos, make sure everything is spelled correctly...
Sorry... rant got the best of me... At least I've gotten it all out now. sweatdrop
