"Apples? That's what these are called? They're very delicious," he said with a smile. Ruefully, he added, "I've never seen or heard of apples before." He picked up another apple and started munching.

Aer smiled as the pair enjoyed the apples. Pausing for a moment, she told Gane, "They're my favorite thing to eat. I love the way that they taste and how they crunch when you bite them!"

Gane smiled. "I can see why. I'm definitely liking the crunch and I love the taste, sweet and a little tangy. They're like you, too," he added, pleased with this new discovery.

Aer looked up, just a little startled. He thought she was like an apple? Well, that was a bit...odd. Tilting her head to the right, she regarded the colt with her, "I do? Why?"
She wanted to her how she was like an apple. She didn't know anyone could be like a fruit. That was an interesting thought. She giggled inwardly at the idea of soquili being like fruit.

Well, apples taste sweet, but they're also a little tart, but in just the right way," he replied, forming the explanation as he went along. "I don't know if that makes sense, but it makes sense to me," he added, half apologetically.

Aer looked at him with her head tilted to the right, "I'm sweet and tangy? How so?" She was still somewhat confused at being compared to food. On top of that, she was a filly and had no idea about what he meant.

Also being a foal, he didn't have much idea why he was in a rush to compare her to so many different pleasant things. "Well...you have a sweet voice and you're very kind. You were rather energetic when we first met, which is where the tangy came in. But like the apple, you're mostly sweet, the sweetest person I think I'll ever meet."

Aer was about to respond when she heard a voice calling in the distance. It was her father! Panicking, she looked at Gane helplessly. "I have to go! Daddy's looking for me! That was him calling just now. I promise we can meet again another day, but I need to scoot." She hurried pressed an innocent good-bye kiss to his cheek and fled as fast as she could before her father could find them together. If there was one thing Aer knew, it was how protective her father was. Soon she was but a blur of shadow as she made her way out of the clearing and disappeared back home.
