Some feet behind Panther, there was a rustling sound.

Taking out a couple more treats, she handed the bag back to Panther, making sure to keep Hercules' attention. "Alright, these are the last ones for today, but you won't get them until you help me and Panther out. If you do really well, I'll go sneak into the kitchen and make you as much." She smiled brightly as the Totodile seemed more than willing to help now.
Both the human and the pokemon perked up at the rustling sound and leaned to a side to see where and what the sound was from. Putting the last treats in her pouch with the pokeballs, then her hand fingered a couple of the balls on her belt, waiting.

Panther turned to the rustling brush and pulled out a pokeball, releasing Shade. "We are looking for pokemon. Those bushes might have something, go check it out."
Shade nodded and floated over to the bushes, floating above them and looking down. "Gengar?"

Blossom grunted, hitting the wall of ice with a loud thud. The Squirtle came hurtling at her and hit her with another sickening thud. This adding to the weight on the wall of ice, breaking it and sending them both back. Blossom sat up and moved away from the Squirtle, panting a bit.
Cal sighed, this was as good a time as any to try and capture the turtle pokemon. "Pokeball, go!" She tossed a pokeball at the Squirtle, hitting it on the head and absorbing it into it's read light. She held her breath as the ball wiggled on the ground.

With the ball thrown, the Squirtle was sucked inside, and began to wiggle furiously. However, the watermon seemed weak enough and was unable to get out. PING! The ball chimed, signaling a capture.

When the ball dropped to the ice and stopped moving, Aki didn't miss a beat and skated past, snatching it up and jumped off the ice rink it had made and swam back to where Cal and Mau were standing. It held the ball in it's mouth and was looking up at them happily. "Aki!" Mau thought at first that the vaporeon was going to run off with it. But as it stood there looking at them he couldn't help but laugh and took the ball from him, though Aki let out a playful growl and made Mau work for it. When he got the ball from Aki, he handed it to Cal.
"Nice catch." As he spoke, Aki spun around a couple times, looking like he wanted to play with the pokeball. It took Mau a moment more to realize something. "Oh brother... Aki, you did a good job bringing the pokemon back." He had told the vaporeon to find other pokemon... and he did. Sort of. Can't blame him for doing what he had been told.
"VEEE!" Pleased as punch for the praise, Aki swam back towards the ice and skated around Blossom a little, chattering happily. Perhaps complementing her on the battle? Seeing if she was ok? Who knew?
"Hey Cal. You very steady on ice? We could see if Aki could freeze a path and get out of this godforsaken mud."

Pheonid When Damon decided he wanted to pair with Yugi, he breathed an inner sigh of relief. However, he knew that Seth wouldn't abide with it, and was therefore unsurprised when Damon was yelled at and subsequently sent to wait with the vehicles. He then looked at Yugi, and started to panic, there was no way in hell he was going to pair up with him! He thought it didn't get any worse with Damon, but this guy looked twice as wimpy and likely had the same little issues as Damon since Damon was so insistent about pairing up with him. He started looking around frantically, hoping to find someone... ANYone to pair up with besides him. Then, salvation appeared.Like a Ho-oh descended from the sky, another grunt appeared, with bunearys and nidorans frolicking around his feet and kirlias blaring trumpets sounding his entry. Truly, this was a blessing sent by Arceus itself. Zach noticed that grunt had a few pokemon on him already, to his relief. He would probably make a capable ally, and Zach made no hesitation to go up to him. "HimynameisZachdoyoustillneedapartner?Icanbeyourpartnerifyouwant!Let'sgotime'sawasting." And with that he tried to grab his arm and practically drag him in another direction from the other groups to go scouting out the marsh. "Hey- Whoa!" Leonard couldn't get a sufficient reply out before being dragged off by this weirdo. Well, his concerns were answered all right. But he was unsure if the other Grunt's eagerness was an sign of impending doom or not. After letting himself being dragged for a good distance, he managed to struggle out of his grasp. "Ok, it's nice that you're enthusiastic about the mission, but I don't even know you!" Leonard actually didn't know many of the Grunts, but that's besides the point. "I'm Leonard. And you're Zach. Ok. We got that covered. But next time, don't drag me off like that without warning me!"

After the crisis had been averted, Zach calmed down a bit. "Yeah, sorry about that. I just REALLY didn't want to pair up with the alternative, he didn't look like he would last 2 seconds out here... and I could really use a capable partner if I plan to get myself a worthwhile team again."

"You mean that guy with ponytails?" Leonard remembered seeing him back there and shared the same sentiments with Zach. Anyone should be better than someone looking so girly...
"Anyway, I'm capable. You don't have to worry!" At least, he hoped so. On a serious mission like this, his Pokemon should have the sense to obey, but he can't hope to assume that completely.
"Have any idea to start?"

"Well, I say we go in that direction." Zach says, pointing in a direction opposite of where the other groups went. "That way we are less likely to run across the others. Also, I should let you know something. The pokemon I have right now isn't especially experienced in battle, but I got practically everything necessary in order to compensate for that fact. So if you need something just let me know."
With that said, Zach releases his eevee, Yasu, from his pokeball and makes a mark on a nearby tree. "Alright then, shall we go?"

"Ok. Sure..." At least Zach was honest about his inexperience. But Leonard wondered if they did encounter the shiny Feraligatr, if they had enough firepower to capture it.
He unclipped a Pokeball from his belt and released the Pokemon inside it. Out came an odd-colored Banette who didn't look very pleased to be in the middle of a swamp... But Leonard knew that she wouldn't be pleased about anything.
"Oh suck it up. If you can listen to me for this mission then we can get a promotion. And I'm sure you'd like that as much as I do." He glared back at the Banette and started searching for any signs of the gator Pokemon.

Zach looked over the swamp, making sure to mark a tree every now and then to keep them from getting lost. "Yasu, go ahead and scout ahead a little, but don't wander too far in case a pokemon finds us first. If you see anything worthwhile, be sure to let me know." Yasu seemed irritated to have to muck about in a swamp, but complied nonetheless, going "Vee!" to show his affirmation.

Cal pocketed the ball with a slight sigh, her first time catching a pokemon in team rocket had been a success. She smiled at Aki, who skated and played in the ice. He must have been excited about doing a good job finding the pokemon and bringing the ball back. Blossom too was starting to skate around excitedly with Aki, making appropriate squeals and growls.
She slipped and caught herself on Mau's coat. She soon regained her balance. "I think that skating on ice would be better than walking through this mud." She smiled, skating a little ahead of him to join the pokemon. "Ok, let's continue looking."

Mau grinned and stepped up after Cal onto the ice. "Aki, can you keep a path of ice for us to walk on?" The vaporeon skittered to a stop, tilting his head at Mau then yipped slightly, spinning around and began to lay a path of ice down for them to walk on.
Despite the lack of traction, this was still far better then wading through the muck of the swamp. Quicker too as they went deeper into the swamp where it seemed the trees and plants grew closer together. Maybe Mau was just being paranoid though.
