Ruby smiled and watched her leave. Ruby walked into her room and looked around, sniffing the air and taking in the new scents around her. She looked at the huge bed. She had never had a bed befroe really. She ran over and jumped up onto it, burring her bace into a pillow. She laughed. She saw a door and walked over to it and opened it, it seemed to be a empty closet. Ruby really didn't have any clothes, she was barely wearing any at the moment. Ruby looked out her window and saw how beautiful it was outside. She walked back out and walked into the garden. She walked around and began humming. As she walked past plants they would slowly bloom as she hummed. She got to a large fountain and sat down on the edge and looked at the large fish down in the water. She smiled and just watched them swim around. The fresh air felt good to her nose and lungs.

Forest had spent the last fifteen minutes trying to get through holes, push open the gate, and climb over the wall, but to no avail. The spells that guarded this place were beyond his power. The only things he had to use was his shape shifting skills, and his affinities for nature, little handy tricks with air currents or plants, nothing that would do him any good against these defenses.
He had given up, lying in the grass as a snake (he had been trying to slither through a hole), when he had seen the fox girl, Ruby, walking through the gardens. He quickly flew up to the wall as a bird, transformed into a dog, and sent a few friendly barks her way. Hoping a friendly approach would help him out.

Ruby looked up when she heard a few barks. Tho she be fox it was still a canine. Her ears perked andshe looked around till her orange eye locked onto a dog. She stood up. "Come here little doggie." She said and slowly walked toward him. The wind was blowign against her back so she couldn't smell at the moment that it was the shapeshifter. She slowly approached it. "What is a cute thing liek you doing here? "

Forest became hopeful for the first time that evening, Ruby approached him, apparently somewhat unaware that it was him. The wind carrying his scent away from her was probably doing the trick, using his natural affinities, he willed the wind to keep blowing in the same direction.
When Ruby had called him to her and slowly approached him, he could feel the barriers restraining him from her become undone, apparently, someone from inside the estate had the power to invite someone else in. It was a weakness he wouldn't have expected among such a guarded place. But, he doubted she had much visitors with that first class personality of hers, so she probably never had to worry about it.
It almost felt unnatural being able to get down the other side of the wall, he ran over to be petted like a normal dog would, and giving the wind an extra push for good measure, stuck out a friendly tongue to his new friend.

Ruby smiled. She pet the dog and looked over her shoulder, squinting her eyes. "The wind sure is brewin up today." She said letting her russian accent out. She always had to hide it so poeple that were hunting after her since she had assassined so many poerple. She then sat on he knees and pet the dog. "Why are you here boy?" She said. She smiled happily, she just loved animals. Her smile was so cute and innocent like at the moment, like a child when she is given candy.

Sera walked up the grand staircase that led to the second, and eventually, the third floor. Then, walking almost habitually, she went to the north tower where her study was. She climbed the spiral staircase quickly and finally reached the sturdy, wooden door at the very top. Upon opening it, she looked into the familiar room with the large, circular window directly across the room from her. The walls were covered with ancient books and folders from ceiling to floor. Her desk--right in front of the window--was also covered with files and papers from years that she didn't even care to think about. She had almost all of the files from her years in the Demon military here, along with the movements of every group in that time and even the top secret missions that had taken place.
But, she was here to look up anything to do with a shape-shifter. For almost two hours, she sat and searched. Finally, she found the order given by one of the colonels in the Science department that had ordered the death of a shape-shifter lab worker. "This must be it."

Forest began to wonder what he should do, it was a rather awkward situation. And one hundred percent his fault. What he wanted to do was find out who Sera was, and what she seemed to be protecting here...and maybe find out a little about her past.
Now that he was inside the gates, there was only one thing in his way: Ruby. She had gotten him in, and now he needed to take this opportunity and find out what he could. He couldn't get distracted. From where Ruby and Forest sat in the garden, he could see the open doors to the farther right corner tower of the estate. It seemed to be the only way inside.
Still pretending to be a curious dog, Forest ran past Ruby and headed for the doors, only realizing that his scent would be traveling towards her now. If she found out, he didn't know what would happen, but it was too late now. He sprinted through the doors, sniffing the patio as he tired to find out where he was going. It was finally time to get to know this Sera.

Sera's head went up with a snap. There was a new scent on the wind... And it wasn't Ruby's or Raven's. It was that of a shape-shifter.
She shut the binder she had in her hand at the moment with a sharp snap. She set it on her desk and hurried from her study and descended the stairs with an agitated gait. She went to the second floor balcony overlooking the entrance. The scent was stronger now. She slowly and collectedly walked down the rest of the stairs and looked into the patio in the back of the house. There was a dog wandering around. Usually, she would have pretended to have fallen for the shape-shifter's disguise, but he was in her house now. She sped forward and kneeled in front of the dog's face, grabbing it by its fur on the forehead. Her brow furrowed with irritation as she hissed, "You've gone too far, pup. This is the part where you tell me what the hell you're doing in my house."

Forest reacted as quickly as possible, at first, he tried struggling out of the strong grip, but then remembered: he's a shapeshifter.
He quickly transformed into a gigantic wolf, enough to get her to release her grip, and get a further distance away. He snapped his jaw, showed his teeth, and growled. He figured he had gotten the point across, and quickly changed to his human form. There was no sense in hiding now. Forest produced a humorous voice and stared her down in the eyes, "Calm down, Sera, really, you're acting like you don't know me at all." He grinned, "I just wanted to stop by, I felt we got off on the wrong foot this morning. Maybe we'll be able to help eachother..."

Sera scoffed at his arrogance. Young people these days. With a smirk that didn't reach her eyes, she said, "You're about 1800 years too early, kid." She walked into her enormous kitchen and opened the fridge. From it, she drew a fresh mango. Then, she filled a glass with ice and sat down at the island in the middle of the room. She started pealing the mango with a knife, deliberately slow with each and every slice. "Now, come and tell me how we could possibly help each other. Sure, if I chose, I could help you find who you're looking for," she said with a meaningful look in his direction, "But I don't see you could come close to helping me." After stripping the mango, she carefully squeezed the fruit over her glass until it was completely void of any juice. After she washed her hands, she took a drink and sighed with delight. Then, she set it down and said, "And as for knowing you, shape-shifter, I am able to act like I don't know you because I don't. And I'm not going to try and pretend I do. You'll find I'm not very easy to get along with once we've--as you so eloquently put it--'gotten off on the wrong foot.'"

"Awww, come on, now you're just taking me too seriously." Forest didn't know how she had known about his mother, but, decided to not ask questions. He wasn't going to give her the luxury of him being dependent on her, even though he kind of was.
"I honestly don't know how I could help you. It certaintly doesn't look like you need any help," Forest's hand gestured to their present surroundings, still convinced she had to be royalty to live like this. "But then again, I, more than most people, know looks can be decieving. I'm one of the best shape shifters around Arcadia. You help me, and that power is for your disposal." Forest grinned, he wouldn't have minded being ordered around by her.

Sera looked at him for a moment. Then, she said suddenly, "You don't know who I am... do you?" It wasn't a question; it was a statement. Then she looked at her glass and waved her hand at him dismissively, "I don't really like being an accomplice to vengeance, boy. Besides," she looked at him again and her eyes flashed a bright, scarlet red, "You have no idea what you'd be getting yourself into by getting in with me. I've got more baggage than a pet like you can deal with." She waved him off again, "Go find another, less powerful demon. Those are always good for seeking revenge. I don't to have anything to do with a fiery little boy who can't control himself when it comes to personal matters." Then, she took a drink of her juice. But, after a moment of thought, she looked at him again, "What did you really look to accomplish by coming here? Did you come here and break through my spells just to offer me your services?"

It was hard for Forest to stand there and take everything she said in. It was only confusing him. More than he already was. But her last question momentarily distracted him, "Do you even care? You obviously don't want anything to do with me, so why bother? You can continue hiding behind these spells and barriers, hiding behind your eight-teen thousand years, but I plan on doing something about my problems. That, demon, is the reason I'm here." Forest hesitated at his last words, "the only reason."
Forest felt the flash of anger come upon him, as it easily did lately, "You think being a great powerful demon is an excuse to shut out the world? No, I don't know who you are, and no, I'm not looking for revenge, I'm looking for closure. Surely, Lady Sera, you can relate to that."

Sera's face--which had previously held a pleasant, polite look--now hardened like stone beneath her skin. Her eyes became cold and the temperature of the house almost seemed to go down. "Hiding, am I? Is it a crime to want some privacy?" her voice was calm, but it sounded like behind the thin wall, there was an entire army of anger that was just waiting to be unleashed. She stood up and got up into his face. She was just a mere two inches from his nose. She whispered, "Don't even try to pretend that you understand what I'm doing." Her voice was like the hissing of a thousand snakes. Then, with an exasperated sigh, she went and sat back down and drank her juice. But, his last sentence escaped her mouth, her scarlet eyes locked onto his. There was a menace there that would have skinned a human alive.
"Lady?" she said with a cruel smirk, "I am no 'Lady.' No, my name is General."

The converasation had taken a bad turn. Forest focused on recovering from the devastating angry and defensive attitude she'd been giving off. He was suprised by how afraid he had been when she had gotten right in his face. It was a fear he didn't want to feel again. That suprise however, was nothing compared to how suprised from her last sentence, so she had been the general he was looking for.
"General. Why does that not suprise me?" Forest growled, forgetting he wasn't a wolf anymore, trying not to show his fear of this situation. If she was indeed this general, she was a lot more dangerous than he had expected. "Right now, you have the luxury to say or do whatever you want to me. I don't care what it takes, but I need your help. I'm not leaving. Not unless you know anyone who can push a three ton elephant all the way out to the gates."
Forest swallowed, his fear hadn't left him.
