Ravenwing's question was directed more towards himself than to Caesar or Troutail. His claws unsheathed and sank into the dirt, as though he was clawing out an imaginary enemy's fur. Why did it have to be Mintpaw, a young and pretty she-cat? As much as he hated to admit it, if it had been a tom-cat, he probably won't feel as much sympathy.

  [Caesar shook his head.]
"We have to try, no matter what. Hope is a disease that can drive cats mad, but it can also provide the motivation to make it through a rough time. What if there is a remedy? How will we feel after that, knowing that we killed her?"
[Caesar's eyes darkened.]
"There is no definite answer, therefore she shouldn't recieve such a definite punishment as death."
[He bent his head, looking down at the apprentice, who was tiny compared to his massive paw.]
"I'll keep an eye on her, guard her if you will. She can't infect me, and I can move quicker than a physical cat. I'll keep her unconcious."
[He dipped his head at the two warriors.]
"Thank you for coming with me, but we must head back now. Your Clan may need you."
[He picked the apprentice up gingerly in his strong jaws, making sure his fangs didn't pierce her skin. He began to bound back to SeaClan at a slow pace.]

 F o a m p a w______________________________ [Foampaw padded into the clearing, speckled with the salty spray of the shining ocean.]
"Mm, it might be drowned by the water, but I can smell fish"
[She noted, remembering her first taste of the delectable prey]
"It smells so good. It makes me want to just dive into the water and eat all that I can!"
[Taking in a deep breath of the ocean air, she turned back to Trouttail, who stood beside her.]
"Maybe you can show me how to catch fish better. I mean, as amazing as I am, it never hurts to ask from someone with more experience, right?"
[She laughed, trying to lighten the mood of the otherwise depressed looking Trouttail.]
"Besides, I doubt I'm strong enough to catch a fish bigger than my forepaw. Hey, Trouttail, can't you just imagine me catching a fish as big as Lightningstrike? And just think- it'd all be because you taught me. I mean, it's always great to include others in your speeches"
[she mused, imagining herself standing above Seaclan, accepting some sort of trophy, whilst holding up a fish twice as big as her tail]

[I mrrowed with laughter, shaking my head.] "Ah yes well, they're nice cats," I said, giggling. "They would smell like fish though. It's just about all they eat."
[I blinked and nodded.]
"The most important smell is the salt," I said. "Even if they wash all the other scents off, they smell like salt for quite a while. It's the seawater that they swim in sometimes."
[I nodded, almost to myself.]
"Well now, is there anything else you'd like to know before we move on?"
