I mostly read in English, but my language teachers force me to read in Latin and French. I never thought it would be fun, but it's challenging and pleasant ^^.
I mostly read children's books because my grammar and vocabulary is at that level.

I tried to read mangas in Japanese but i'm still learning so I don't always understand it. So only can really read in English and understand it at the moment sweatdrop

I like reading manga in Japanese(I had to learn Kansai-ben just to read some of them) english translations of manga are ok... but I would like to read manga in some other language like danish, french, italian, etc.

I read quite a few Mangas in German, some in Chinese and English (I still have The Queen's Knight borrowed from a friend about a year ago on my bookshelf... sweatdrop twisted )

Yowza, I haven't posted here in a while. eek

Anyway, I like to read German literature, even if it has been translated into English. I do have the original German text for Goethe's Faust, though. I can understand some of it, but many of the words are no longer in use, so it's a bit of a struggle reading it in German.

Faust is great. So far it's the only thing Goethe has written that I actually like. In my German class we read a lot of things by him and believe me, it's no fun... Last year our school drama team performed Faustquite nicely! heart

Les Miserables by Victor Hugo
Le tour de monde en 80 jours by Jules Verne

I think I love you xp

After I get reasonably fluent in Spanish, I'm going to attempt Don Quixote (Help!). But because of my location, it's really difficult to get books in anything but my mother tongue..

I'll be satisfyed with random spanishy sites until I can make that 2-hour drive xp

I read in English because it's the only language I know well enough. I do have a manga to help me with reading kana and I want Harry Potter in Japanese. I wish I could find liturature of any language other than Spanish. It's annoying to see all the English and the a large section of Spanish and nothing else! gonk I don't mind Spanish at all, I'd just prefer lit. in the language I'm trying to learn really well right now. (Spanish isn't one of them yet.)

Don Quixote de La Mancha? that was a difficult book to read in its original Spanish... I got a few chapters in before I had to return it to the library...

Fortunately, I get to read it this year in my AP Spanish class. xd

They have Japanese manga at Borders and hardly any. They don't even have the one I used to get anymore. They say it's "OUT OF PRINT".User Image
