Yury's wond on her neck wasn't even as bad as someone would guess. It wasn't to deep and was a clean cut. It may had bleed a lot but that was all. It looked like would heal completely in the next weeks as well. The reason Yury most likely passed out was due to stress from the whole situation.
Yury could hear Nanaki's voice but couldn't make out the words. The smell of him and the warmth of the fire on his tail seemed to flow threw out her body. She finally got enough strength to open her eyes. First all she could make out was a fuzzy outline of Nanaki but it slowly started to focus.
Yury could see Nanaki laying net to her whimpering softly. "Nanaki? is that you?" Yury spoke faintly. Her neck was hurting badly but it did stop bleeding. Suddenly she remembered the Shakaiyo the attacked her and she looked around in fear. All around them was blood that stained that ground and in the distance she could see the dead body.
She knew that Nanaki had saved her and fought for her. She was safe now, with Nanaki by her side. She then looked up at Nanaki and tears started to fall from her eyes. Yury leaned her head on Nanaki's neck and cried. " I was so scared" Yury cried. "But i knew you would come i knew you would."
That was when she notice Nanaki's wound. "You got hurt because of me. I am so sorry it is all my fault. If only i was braver then maybe then maybe ...." yury stumbled. Tear kept flowing enough that she couldn't even finish her sentence. Yury then licked his wound trying her best to clean it. "I am sorry Nanaki" she said softly.

Nanaki sighed with relief when Yury finally woke up. He nuzzled her gently and smiled at her, the relief he felt reflecting in his eyes. "Shh, it's ok, I'm alright, everything is fine now." he murmured softly trying to calm her down. He wasn't used to dealing with emotional beings and he just hoped he was doing ok at it, he didn't want to hurt her feelings but he wasn't really sure what to do when she was crying like this.
Eventually he stood up and smiled at her, swishing his tail back and forth like a guiding light to cut through the darkness that was quickly fading away as the sun began to rise. So much for his plan, he was certain they hadn't covered even half the distance he had planned too but he wasn't upset by this fact at all. He was just glad that he had managed to protect Yury.
"Come on, let's go find a place to rest for the day and we can continue travelling later on, we both need some rest and I'd rather not do it here, out in the open." he stood next to her, his uninjured side ready to support her if she needed it. She had lost a lot of blood and he was expecting her to be a bit dizzy and wobbly until her body managed to replenish it.

"ok, where are we going to rest then?" Yury mumbled as she raised to her feet. She felt really dizzy and light head and was worried she would trip over herself. Luckily Nanaki was there to help support her weight just in case she did. Yury was even luckier to have Nanaki by her side to help her threw this time, which made her feel very glade.
"I am thirsty and hungry, Nanaki?" She told him. She knew she had to get fluids in her body so it could start healing and food would help as well. With his help she walked over to the river and drank the water. Her tongue lapped up the water so fast it would seem like she never had anything to drink before in her life. Now all she needed was some food but she knew she couldn't fish like how she was now.

Nanaki helped Yury over to the riverbank and he too drank as if he had never had water before. When he was finished he waded into the shallow area and scanned for fish. He saw a rather large one drifting lazily along the bottom and he carefully moved towards it. The morning sunlight that was just beginning to appear was giving him just enough light to see it but not so much as to cast a large shadow that might scare it off.
Unfortunately, he really wasn't that great of a fisher and so as he went to bite down on it and pull it out of the water he felt it's tail slap his nose as it darted away. "Damn fish." he muttered to himself, now thoroughly soaked up to his shoulder and not feeling the best he wandered back to the river's edge and shook as much of the water off as he could.
"I think I'll leave the fishing to you, but I'll get us some food, don't worry." he said to Yury as he looked around and scented the air for prey. He caught the scent of a rabbit and smirked, now it was time to show her how he hunted. Crouching down he stalked closer to the source of the smell and finally a rather large rabbit appeared from behind a boulder. It was oblivious to Nanaki's presence and he took advantage of it as he moved closer and closer.
When the rabbit finally looked up it was far too late, it darted but Nanaki chased after it, ignoring the pain in his side from his wound, and after a few yards he managed to catch it, biting into it's neck he swung it side to side until he heard a crack and then he carried the limp carcass back to Yury. "Breakfast is served madame." he said in his best "proper" voice.

Yury giggled as she saw Nanaki try to fish. Him being all wet was a funny sight to her and when he shook the water off it left him fluffy. "Ya you better leave the fishing to me." She said in a giggle. Yury was lucky to have him look after her.
She watched as he crouched down stalking something. Yury had no idea what he was doing since she mainly eats fish or small mice. She sniffed the air and could smell the rabbit as well. She hadn't had rabbits in a long time. Then suddenly she could see Nanaki chasing the rabbit and finally bitting on it.
Yury giggles as she saw him trotting back to her with the rabbit in his mouth. "why thank you" She said gently as she sniffed that rabbit. She than licked his check to show her gratefulness and smiled. Then proceeded to eat the rabbit which was so delusions and soon after it was gone and she was full. Yury licked her lips and cleaned up from the rabbit. She felt bad tho because she ate all the rabbit and poor Nanaki didn't get to eat anything yet.
In the corner of her eye she saw a huge fish swimming by the shore. "I bet i could get it" she thought to herself. With the food, water and the little rest she did have gave her enough energy to swipe the fish with her paw. The fish soon after flew on shore , flapping around for Nanaki.

Nanaki watched as she ate the rabbit and he smiled. He was proud of the fact that he had been able to protect her and could provide for her. While she was eating he continued to scent the air for any prey but he was coming up empty and it was slightly discouraging. He was trying very hard to keep the rumbling of his stomach quiet so she wouldn't hear it and feel bad about eating the whole rabbit which is what he had intended for her to do in the first place but it was difficult.
When she got to her paws he stared at her in confusion and when she headed for the water he was quick to follow. "Yury you're not completely recovered yet, I don't think you should be trying to do too much until you get a nice long rest." he said as he tried his hardest to get her to listen to what he was saying without making it sound like an order.
When he saw that is was no use he hovered on the edge of the water, watching her anxiously, as if he expected her to collapse or something. The next thing he knew there was a fish flopping wildly about in front of him. He placed his paw on it and then bit down on it which caused it's movement to cease. Looking up at Yury he saw her returning to shore and sighed with relief. Apparently she was going to prove that she could take care of him as well.
"Thank you." he murmured as she passed him before he began to eat the fish. When he was finished and he was feeling full and there was nothing left of the fish but bones. He moved back up the bank to stand beside Yury and then motioned with his tail for her to follow him. When he had been hunting he had found an old den beneath the boulder where the rabbit had been. He lead her too it and then motioned for her to enter first.

Yury smiled as she watched Nanaki eat the fish. It made her feel happy that she could be useful even if she was hurt. Plus he must of been hungry from his fight he had to protect her. She was happy that he ate ever bit of it.
She sat there flicking her tail as he finished eating. When he motioned her to fallow him she tilted her head to the side which hurt a bit. "Did you find a den?" She asked as she fallowed him. Then she could see it.
The den was smaller to the first one they staid in but it looked big enough for them both. When Nanaki motioned her to go in she slowly crept in. This den was made mainly from dirt compared to the one first one which was made from the roots of a tree. There would be just enough room for them both if they slept close together.
Yury curled herself at the end of the den and waited for Nanaki to enter. "It is cozy in here" she commented. Soon after she let out a big yawn. Even tho they didn't travel nearly as far she knew he wanted to, she was still really tired. THey both has such of an eventful day and hopeful there last on there trip.

Nanaki watched as Yury entered and got comfortable before he entered as well and curled up next to her, keeping his tail away from her fur, once again he wished that all Shakaiyo were impervious to the flame on it's tip but then again, if they were he wouldn't be that special would he?
Yawning he laid his head down on his paws. "Let's rest for awhile and we'll start travelling again after sundown." the last part faded away as he fell asleep promptly, the only sign he was alive was the flickering of the flame on his tail and the sound of his deep, slow breathing.

Yury rested her head on Nanaki's neck since it was the only way for her neck to no hurt. She felt a bit nervous from doing that and hoped he would mind. Soon after her sleepiness kicked in and she was fast asleep. The last think she was able to mumble 5 words. "Thank you Nanaki, for everything." She spoke as she drifted into sleep from there eventful day.

The loud chorus of crickets woke Nanaki from his slumber and he yawned, blinking his eyes open he looked around the small den where he and Yury had decided to rest. It was dark outside, and there was a chill in the air, he realized that there must be clouds covering the moon and that it might be getting ready to rain. It was the rainy season after all... well... whatever rainy season a desert got anyway.
When he tried to lift his head he found it weighted down and noticed Yury using him as a pillow. He chuckled quietly before nudging her with a paw. "Yury, wake up."

Yury slowly opened her eyes when Nanaki tried to wake her up but quickly closed them again. She then nuzzled her snout in his fur and dozed off again, but only to be woken up again by Nanaki. This time she moved to a sitting position and let out a big yawn. She finally shook her head and stretched out her paws then stood up.
Yury was still a bit sleepy but she knew she had to wake up. She didn't want Nanaki is get annoyed with here now. So she slowly crawled out of the den into the fresh night.

Nanaki smiled when she finally sat up and set about waking up fully. He too rose to his paws and stretched, and then immediately wished he hadn't as the wound on his side was remembered by the sharp stabbing sensation followed by burning. Wonderful, he just had to get hurt there didn't he? It couldn't have been a scratch on his face or something... oh no, it had to be on a part of his body that was constantly being moved. Grumbling quietly to himself he emerged from the den and into the crisp night air.
Do you want to eat before we set out or later on when we stop for a break? he asked Yury as he examined the river and the land around them.

" i think we can wait to eat but i am a bit thirsty" Yury commented as she walked over to the river bed. "unless your hungry, i could get another fish if you want" She added as we watched the river for fish. Yury then sniffed the air and notice Nanaki reopened his wound. " Honestly, please try to be carful" she said a bit worried as she licks his wound a bit.

Nanaki nodded and followed her down to the river's edge. He dipped his head and drank some of the refreshing water. "No, I'm not hungry, I was just making sure that you weren't." he laughed and then winced when she licked at his wound. "It's kind of hard to keep wounds like that closed, especially when you're moving a lot." he tried to excuse himself, feeling quite embarrassed that she had scolded him.
When he had finished drinking he sat down and waited a bit for the pain to subside before asking "Are you ready to go?"

" I am ready but i think maybe we should travel in a slower pace since we both have wounds that will be bad if they are reopened." Yury said in a sigh "I am just a bit worried that your wound will bet infected. I don't know maybe i am just being worry wort" She add as she looked away a little. Yury was still blaming herself for Nanaki getting hurt and she could help worrying over him.
