Valdaer stood not far from the tavern, in somewhat of a daze. He had seen it appear and the slither into the tavern. Then the awe had disappeared and only concern for his partner and sister remained.
For a second he was consumed by the need to kill it, but then it proved its strength. He could hear the thud, he curse. There was only one devil who could summon such a thing, but why?
Valdaer looked around and then noted that there was a light in one of the windows. A red light, he smiled. And then slipped down an alleyway. I'll let them handle it, their group wanted power so much. Let us see if they are worthy of it, He thought.

The attention of the monster turned to the one that spoke to it without any fear. "An incarnation of devastation. An abomination, enemy of salvation. I am a hunger, a lust. I am the closest thing you will see to a God." slithering closer to the one before him, he asked his own question. "But...question is...Who are you...who does not fear me?"

"I am Sstexth, of the Yuan-ti, we who have lived and thrived among the virtues you spoke of, we who have seen a god in all it's glory." the leader said, None of the assassins showed any significant sign on agression but all maintained a wary stance. Even amids such kindred spirits they knew better than to relax completely around such a seemingly powerful creature.

"Then maybe you will end of as part of us!" The hood slid up to reveal a pair of eyes that emanated with a brilliant light. He did his best to make eye contact with the one that spoke to it, the clawed hands grabbing at his shoulders to help hold him still. "Don't worry, it will all be over in a moment..."

Irrafay stepped through the back door thinking over the news she had heard today. Walking into the kitchen these thoughts fled as she noted that her staff was huddle around the door.
"What is going on here?" She walked up hands on her hips. All of them turned towards her. The last to look was the last in a long line of people who thought to disturb her position. She squinted at him as if examining him as a possible slave. "Something go wrong?"
The male stiffen, "Noding...d..da..dat...I can't handle." He stammered and then let the words rush out. His hands, his whole body trembled.
"Do you care to lie, to someone who has placed so much power in your hands? If you can not tell the truth to me, how do I know you will lead my people well when I'm gone?" He looked down and bit his lip. And then his head jerked up quickly, as he looked around for help he was meet with only glares.
"Dispose of the worm and tell me what has happened." She said stiffly walking over the only chair in the dimly light room.
As two mean picked up the male who was now so scared that he was peeing on himself. The cook came forward,"It was like a bad omen, Jalil Irrafay. A creature, a creature with an aura and power...it was too scary to watch...he killed...he killed Ryhn. You know how he is...he just stepped up, just as the worm told him to and it killed him."
As the cook sniffled, another Nym stated, "And those assassins started talking to him. Our people ran behind the counter. That where they are now. The worm didn't even try to get the body back. He just stood here."
The others nodded and Irrafay let out a sigh. Leaning back she glanced around her, "You will help those in the front get back here. I have to go find out what is happening with my own eyes." She stood and pulled up her hood and small scarf. She didn't move to close the scarf instead she walked toward the dividing doors and then out behind the counter. Those there seemed frozen. All of which she could understand. There are two people who could summon that. One like the shadows to much to be that flashy. The other is mad enough to be this flashy. And I happen to be dealing with both.

The Yuan-ti grinned and then laughed before a choke caught in it's throat and it died. The other two smirked to each other, one holstering a recently fired hand crossbow. The remainign assassings spun their cloaks about themselves and vanished in a flurry of fabric, there was much to report.

Irrafay noticed the flurry of activity and movement. The quick death death of the shallow laugh. She could also hear the shuffling of her people through the door.
What a mess. There is no doubt that they will spread the news of this. Oloth plynn ol, I hate being news, she thought as she watched her other costumers.
Some were frighten as they thing the feared most had found them and there was only a thin table surface between them and the fear. Others balanced on their feet itching for a fight, but were foolish enough to just jump in.
Taking a deep breath, she scanned the those around for the body. In the action, it had been pushed far aside. With care she walked over the body. Deaths are such natural things and yet at this very moment I fear it more. Maybe because the threat is closer. But then again isn't that half the fun, this balance isn't fun without that threat below.

The monster turned in time to find an arrow, hit the one spot on it's neck that lacked true armor. It turned and twisted as it's tail wiped wildly. It's hands grabbed at the arrow and tried to pull it out, only managing to snap it off in his throat. "You....fool! How dare you!"

Irrafay sank to her bottom after she passed through the small entry/exit between the bar and the counter. She leaned against the underside of the counter where a few draw were place.
Glancing down at the corpse she considered, A pathetic boy is a means of keep my position. His death means my need to no longer sniff out the weak and cunning one.
She took a breath, gripped the edges of the corpses shirt and began to drag. Trying her hardest to stay low, These people have formed these bonds. Created this family. And if I play my cards right a never end line of loyal servants.
She slipped past the swinging doors into the kitchen. Panting a little, she was presented with a hand. "Quite a deed there, sister," came the murmur from above.
Standing she smiled at her brother, "What wonderful timing. We need to speak. Oh," She turned towards the cook and the others."I've brought Ryhn back, please take care of him. Some of us will go to the temple district and prepare. Through out the day when there is time we will past by. Do not seek to fight this creature. When we find out who sent it. We will see what is at our finger tips."
The crew nodded and some rushed forward to get the body. Other to block the doorway. Irrafay turned towards the hallway with Valdaer at her back. Loyalty no matter how foolish is wonderful for those in charge.

As the creature stood within the tavern, its rage focused on those who had pierced its hide with barbed bolts, a shadowy figure arises behind it. Not a sound this being makes as it slides a blade free of a sheath. It wore the battle robe of an assassin with a magical cape that seemed to make it appear to fade in and out of view with each movement. Twin ebony horns rise from the concealing cloth worn across its face, just above the piercing golden eyes.
Like wetness dripping from a person who had just left the water, so shadows seemed to drip from the black surface of his hands and uncovered sword arm. It was this arm that lifted the blade and held it out as the bubble of silence dropped from around him and he spoke in a deep, abyssal voice chanting an arcane spell as his other hand motions out a pattern. As the Finger of Death spell completes, a thin beam of black energy lances out at the serpent from the tip of the blade.

Llmryn ValSarghress The monster turned in time to find an arrow, hit the one spot on it's neck that lacked true armor. It turned and twisted as it's tail wiped wildly. It's hands grabbed at the arrow and tried to pull it out, only managing to snap it off in his throat. "You....fool! How dare you!" (( You didn't specify who it hit directly so Llymryn opted to have it miss the Yuan ti and hit his character in the neck. Well within his choices given your lack of direct statement that the bolt would have hit the leader in the back or whatever.
The choked death could easily be interpreted as from the glowing eye rays of the serpent creature. No harm no foul, lets just continue and next time we can all try to be specific if we have a desired result in mind.))

As the beast was completely taken by surprise as the beam of light hit its chest and traveled through it's back. The mask over it's eyes cracked and the light that had come from it's eyes before, instead, leaked from it's eyes like thick mud. In a short period of time, the whole creature was covered in thick, glowing, light. The glow for the light faded, and as it did, the stone remains from the creature where all that was left.

Quiet. Silence heralded the stone and rock statue. Valdaer eyes like others, had been glued to the spectacle. He had come out with the others meeting the short sight of a shadow had blasted the thing. The light had hurt so much that all, even those who had drunken themselves under the table, had to shield their eyes.
By the abyss! What happened!! He thought as he walked cautiously over to the rubble. He pushed a rock, and then he heard the muttering of those come back to their seats while other walked over to the counter where shocked employees tried to gather themselves together enough to get the orders right. Irrafay might be right...This could be a good thing. Though I don't like...not knowing what caused this.
He glanced over his shoulder at Nym. "Gather up some strong ones and get this thing cleaned up." Nym nodded and ran off. Valdaer gave the pile of rocks a glance before following after, he need to talk with his sister about the next step.

A voice that rang with authority snarled out a command before anyone could move close enough to touch the stone and mud of the creature.
"Touch that and you will be slain where you stand."
Val'atar threw back the hood of his piwafi, as the shadows fled from from around him to curl within its folds. His fierce gaze traveling over the patrons of the tavern as he strode forward, arms lifted, hands moving in a dazzling pattern as he cast a spell.
Anyone who thought to disturb him would find the wand that was tucked in his wide belt aimed at them, its withering magic sucking their soul out.
As he completed the spell, the remains are suddenly teleported with a soft pop of vanishing air, while he remains standing there, watching the scene around him.
"Anyone with information about this creature, its origin or the serpents who fled.. can come to Qu'ellar Druu'giir for a reward.. if the information proves useful.
Pardon my intrusion Jabress Irrafay.. I'll see any damages paid for. You'll have to excuse me now.. "
So saying, he turns and seems to be swallowed up by his own shadows, gone with nary a whisper.. the coldness of the room the only evidence of his passing.
