"Well, they say there's danger in just leaving your home, so everybody is bit a risk taker sometimes." She smirked lightly. Knowing something was dangerous, but practicing anyway. Kincaid sure was becoming more interesting than he had implied. Scary aromas? Mersi watched his frown, her own face neutral as she waited for elaboration. He seemed to thoroughly believe in the power of scent. Maybe there really was something to what he said? The just as sudden grin that lit his face was just as confusing as the burning plants. She crossed her arms, eyes narrowed, not liking not knowing what was flitting through the male's mind. “What are you thinking?”

After a surprised blink, Kincaid chuckled. "Aye, that's a truth too." His amused grin spread across his features - he had picked some rather intriguing company this time. The foxtaur's golden gaze darkened, however, as he caught a hint of something.
Like always the familiar feeling was right. Kincaid realized that a question was coming his way. With a calm expression the young fox looked at Mersi. "What am I thinking?" He asked slowly with a tilt of the head.
"About things and possibilities." Kincaid finally replied with a nod, "Why? Did I have a scary look on my face or something?" His mouth curled up into a small grin.

Mersi watched the male a moment, weighing his reply until she smirked lightly. "Scary would be one way to put it. More... unsettling than anything else." She chuckled softly. "What good can come out of someone with a mysterious grin like you were just wearing after saying something had scary possibilities?"

"Ah." Kincaid twirled a dripping blade which reflected the candle light. Scent was faint on it, but it matched the aroma of the other flowers. Holding it out the foxtaur looked closely at the blade he used to cutting flora as he spoke. "Nothing good at all. I was just pondering over the negative uses of flowers."
His golden eyes looked up to Mersi with a hint of amusement that was darkened by something else. "I could demonstrate some, but I'm not too sure you would appreciate the effects of the flowers. Though I wouldn't use anything life threatening of course...it would just have a stilling effect I guess on your body. One of the many dark uses, but a simpler one for certain. That is by itself."

Mersi tilted her head slightly, putting her hands on the floor as she leaned forward, eyes light and alert. "Is that a challenge or a warning?" Her skin prickled slightly at what she was hearing. Everything was so out of the ordinary here. Before finding Brooklyn, she would leave for whole summers to travel and gain experience. to become stronger. Even after Brooklyn had left town though, she still didn't go anywhere. When had she become an average female? All this about scents and danger, it was exciting the thrill seeker in her.

"Hmm...I don't really know. Depends on your reaction, I guess." Kincaid shrugged, "Though I'm not too fond of warnings -tiresome things those. Too many makes one lower their guard since they expect everything to start warning them before trouble comes." His fingers played around with the stem of a strange colorless flower.
"Don't worry. I give warnings to others." His smile was slow and thoughtful, "Friends, however, I like to surprise." Kincaid's gaze looked up to Mersi and the foxtaur showed an amused expression. "I guess we can't consider ourselves exactly close friends yet, can we?"

Mersi tilted her head slightly, the corner of her mouth twitching into a smirk. A challenge it was then. Kincaid was right though. Warnings tended to be overused by many. Her ears swiveled slightly at his observation. "Not close friends, I should say." But, regular friend? Could one be made in so short a time? Young children did it all the time, why not adults? Dear acquaintances. Would it be so hard? He had allowed her into his home after all.

"Not close friends indeed. Something like that takes time after all. But decent enough for no certain warnings, I'm hoping." Kincaid's hands fiddled one last time with the strange flowers before he tossed them into the flames. Smoke, strangely hardly visible even in the flickering light, started to pool around them. Of course Kincaid's breathing remained perfectly even and calm - this was one of the things that he had used from a younger age.
His body, a strange body that had been experimented upon too many times, tensed against the strange memory of the aroma. Chewing on the roots of another flower relaxed his body as the juices cleared his head. "I do suggest not fighting it though. Just don't forget to breath, and your sight will stay." That's usually the most that many could do, though he had seen some move sluggishly with this aroma infecting their senses.

Mersi sat up straight, watching the new flowers' pure burn. "So, a surprise it'll be." Her nostrils flared slightly as the scent strengthened. Not fight what? Her sight will stay? She narrowed her eyes slightly, not pleased at all about the prospect of losing her sight. She was determined, though, to get through- well, whatever it was that Kincaid thought was going to happen. She did what he said and kept a slow, even breath, her nose and tongue investigating the new scent.

"Now that this scent has infected the room." Kincaid stood up and walked over to the door to make sure that it was perfectly closed. A hand over any possible areas of crack reassured the foxtaur that there were no air flows to release any of the scent into the woods above. Even when weakened, it could still mess with some smaller animals. Not that it really worried him that...but still.
Picking up the remaining stem of herbs, Kincaid blew at the thickening smoke until it curled perfectly around Mersi. Like dancing snakes the dark coils of smoke swirled around the other fox, embracing her in their power.
"Don't wear yourself out by freaking out and fighting. But if you want, just try to move. Test it." Kincaid's voice was a whisper that was dulled by the smoke's effect. Without the herbs he had just chewed, Kincaid was afraid that even he would've had the strongest urge to give into the plant's power of paralysis.

Mersi's eyes slid over to look at Kincaid, but their movements seemed to be... delayed. She brought her hand up, only, it didn't raise. When she tried to look down, her chin only moved half an inch, her eyes catching sight of her hand. The larger muscles of the arm had been able to give her elbow a slight bend, but she could barely get a twitch out of her fingers. Don't freak out?! Don't fight it?! He had to be kidding!! As much as the thought of losing her sight had displeased her, the knowledge that she couldn't move was terrifying. For a foxtaur who prided her ability for defense and attack, this was worse than losing both sight and hearing together. Her heart pounded, with only spread whatever was in that collection of flora through her body. She was completely vulnerable...

Kincaid couldn't help but to grin as he noted Mersi's trapped state. If he was truly an evil taur this would be a moment to take advantage of her - kidnapping, murder, whatever. Luckily, he had heart enough to behave. Though some things were tempting.
"What really stings about this is the fact that you know what's going on. A more gentle herb would also dull your mind. But I don't believe in that." His gaze sharpened with bitter humor, "Much better to let the victim know exactly what's going on, prolongs suffering that way."
"But I'm no captor and you're definitely no victim." He smiled encouragingly, "I see that you can't resist it exactly. Which is fine." His hand ran through Mersi's hair with faint affection, "Though the remedy will probably make me deserve a slap."
He chewed another stalk of a foreign plant and pulled Mersi to him. With ease he locked lips with her and used a rather deep kissing method to get the remedy in her mouth until it trailed down her throat and into her system. A few more seconds of the kiss, that were probably unnecessary, before Kincaid pulled back. "Give it a minute, you'll be fine now."

If she could have had more expression freedom, Mersi would have been glaring daggers at the male for his amused expression and taunting words. For his touch. How dare he! Oh, he'd be lucky if all he got was a slap. A short inhale of surprise and a lurch of her heart were the only physical reaction she was able to provide for the indignity of Kincaid's action. However, after the initial shock, her mind was abuzz ideas on how she could get herself moving quick enough to be able to break this guy's jaw before he could run. He was no longer under the threat of a slap, at least. Her face flushed red as blood flooded her cheeks in anger and embarrassment.

"Well. Drink up." Kincaid pushed a new tea cup towards Mersi. He stretched lazily like he had done nothing new. Kissing after all was just a physical action to him. Why should he worry about her reaction? Shouldn't she be more inclined to thank him for the remedy?
Yeah, right. Kincaid's eyes glittered with faint amusement, maybe he should've warned her. Oh well too late for warnings. Though he couldn't help but to study her, "Good. You have blood movement, so the remedy worked fine. I can tell from the rather bright flush to your cheeks. Good sign that."

Other than her hands subtly shaking in anger, Mersi made little movement other than to slowly stretch her neck muscles as she regained her freedom. As if she would touch anything else he had made. She stared at the drink, envisioning it exploding in spontaneous combustion and shards getting in the male's pretty lips. He wouldn't be so cocky then! Though she could feel the affects of the scent fading, she tried to match it to make it look like she was recovering slightly slower than normal. Then, hopefully, she would be able to surprise him and wipe that dumb grin off his face. The blush was a good sign... Pah! His face would be red when she finished with him! A bright, liquidy red.
