At Howl's reaction, Calintha resolved herself to never asking. "If you are worried about me asking why, I won't. I like you how you are Howl, Hillworth or not." He could have said that he attended crystal and she probably wouldn't have cared. Nothing was quite as weird as attending a school that didn't exist by most people's standards.
She stood when he stood, lightly pushing her stool back up next to the island counter. "If you want, I have a book bag or a box you could put it into? I'm sure we can find some sneaky way of covering up a plant?" She had enough packing supplies from shipping plants, and certianly enough ways to make it seem like he was bringing something else back into his room.
"And you are welcome for the plant, Mr. Howl. A huge favor, really." She smiled, happy to see the plant go to a good home. It would be no good if it ended up being confiscated, but things happened.

He spoke no more about the subject of his placement at Hillworth. Instead, he focused in on the current task. "Unfortunately, I suspect a book bag or box would not be very good. They go through all of our possessions. In all honesty..."
He paused.
"I am technically supposed to be here in my school uniform." He obviously, was not in such.
"My roommate taught me to bring my gym bag with me to a particular cafe, where I can leave my things, then return later. I change when I am there, because it really would be a bit humiliating to walk around in my school uniform all the time." He chucked for the moment before continuing. "I suspect I will be able to place this at the bottom of my gym bag later, when I go to get changed. I just hope that she will not be smothered by the time I return to my dorm."
Yes, Howl just called the plant a "she."

Calintha was not going to giggle at the fact that Howl had engendered his plant. Not when she routinely 'talked' to them while doing maintenance. She was not crazy! No, she knew they were plants incapable of talking back, but she liked to think out loud around them nonetheless.
"Rattling her around a little shouldn't be a big deal. They are fairly hardy plants." She smiled again. It was late, but she had enjoyed their company. Calintha politely picked up the pot and offered it out to him, like she was presenting a gift again.
"Be safe on your walk home Howl, things are dangerous after dark." Calintha could feel evil lurking the streets of Destiny City, and did not want her polite friend to run into a not-so-polite citizen. "Good luck too, in getting your new plant in." She hoped that he would be able to enjoy it as it should be enjoyed. It deserved a better home than hers.

As she walked him to the door, he nodded his head, taking in what she said to heart. "I will be as safe as I possibly can be, Miss Calintha. Until we meet again!" He smiled lightly, as he had been for nearly the whole visit, and with his free hand, took up her hand to gently place a kiss upon it. Nothing rude or romantic. Strictly a polite gesture.
He left, and walked for a while before paying the potted plant a bit more attention. He mused aloud for a moment in a quiet tone "...I ponder what I shall name you?"
That would be a question for another time. Like when he finally got back to Hillworth.
