Nila Sariswati
Jacosa lay on the couch, his tail twitching slightly as he watched the grown-ups talk. Narra was smiling happily as Ranjit showed her a picture of the baby and they talked about Nokke and heritage and everything...
The otter wanted to see the baby finally. He had looked at the picture and she was blue like Ranjit, but still he needed to see her. The otter also missed his mother, because they had never been seperated for such a long time and he was quite sure that being at the hospital wasn't a nice thing.
Throughout the afternoon he had painted a picture for Andraste and showed Narra how good he was at reading already. In the evening they had received a call that the baby had been born and that it was a girl. Her name was Nila and Jacosa still pouted that they didn't wanted to name her like his best friend. Which girl could deny to be called like that ? Or Jade ? Or Aini ?
At least Nila sounded a bit like Keela. His large eyes were watching the roof. It was afternoon and Ranjit had finally come to show pictures and to pick him up. In fact he had been excited all morning and Narra had told him about the time when Ranjit had been small and that he also had a sister. Now he was eager to play the role of the big brother.
"..osa ?" Was everything he understood as somebody touched his shoulder. "Are you daydreaming ? We can drive to the hospital now." The otter looked up and noticed that Ranjit had been talking to him. Of course he was ready !
Quickly checking if the picture was inside his pocket he got up from the couch and hugged Narra tightly before following Ranjit into the car.
"You can sit down at the front, Jac." The man motioned and the otter was smiling. "Really ? Cool !" He had never been allowed to do so before, but now he probably was the big brother and yeah...that's how it went.
After he fastened the seat belt they made their way towards the hospital. "Your mommy is still a bit tired and the baby as well." Ranjit explained, his eyes concentrating on the streets. "Did it hurt ?" Jacosa asked carefully while straightening the fur of his pocket. "Just a bit, but I guess it was exhausting." The Nokke casted a side glance on the otter and smiled slightly.
"We will probably need to move now." He continued and Jacosa pushed some hair out of his view. "We will get a new flat ?" Ranjit nodded in agreement. "Yes, a bigger one. You and Nila will get your own room."
Jacosa squealed in delight. "My own bed and space for toys and desk for writing ?" A big grin developed on his face as he thought about it. "Indeed. You can help us to choose the furniture and wallpapers and so on. Do you already which colour you would like ?"
It didn't take Jacosa long to decide. "I think I want something blue." Ranjit drove into a parking space in front of the hospital and turned off the engine. "Blue will work out." He added and wanted to help Jacosa to unlock the seat belt, but he had already managed to do so. "I can do it on my own. Not that small !" The boy grinned and literally jumped out of the car.
The hospital itself didn't seem to be a nice place. Everything was white and some people looked quite ill. An old woman was crying somewhere and some babies were crying and everything seemed strange. The otter only spotted one young man who was holding a baby and looked happy. Oh yes and there were doctors ! Jacosa didn't intend to become a doctor later on though.
They moved through the floors until they finally arrived in front of a door, which looked pretty much like all the other ones. "Let me see if they are asleep at first." Ranjit said and opened the door carefully. Jacosa peered through the slit excitedly and managed to catch view of Andraste who was gladly awake.
"MOMMY !" He screamed and ran inside the little room without taking notice of Ranjit's startled expression. "Hey Jac." Andraste greeted, but she looked pretty tired. A something wrapped in a brown blanket lay on her chest and tried to eat her.
Jacosa blinked several times before a wave of questions made it's way out of his mouth. "Why are you wearing a nightgown ? Why does Nila have such a blanket and why is she allowed to suck at you ? Is this Nila anyway ?"
Ranjit chuckled slightly whereas Andraste stayed serious. "Yes, she's your sister, Jacosa. She's drinking milk from my breasts...I guess you read that in one of your books, didn't you ? I sleep here as well, that's why I'm dressed like that."
Now it made a bit more sense to the otter. He pulled the picture out of his pocket and showed it to Andraste. It showed her below the sun, which of course had a face and beside her was obviously Jacosa himself. "For you." He stated and shoved it onto her belly before moving closer to take a look at Nila. "Wow thank you. You're talented." Andraste answered quite tired and allowed her older son to look at the baby.
"Hey Nila. I'm Cosa, your big brother." He whispered and extended one paw carefully to touch her head. Just when the fur reached the red hair she opened her amazingly blue eyes and stared at him intensively without making a move.
Jacosa wasn't quite sure if this frightened him or made him happy. He didn't have a chance anyway as Nila decided to stop drinking and to start wailing instead. The otter expression became worried, but Ranjit only put a hand on his shoulder. "Babies always cry, Jacosa. Don't worry, she likes you."
The blue girl was cradled into the man's arms and now the otter was able to look at her completely. She was a bit chubby, but perhaps that was usual for blue babies. Again he extended his paw and this time she grabbed one of his finger and wrapped her own ones around them. Her eyes showed a certain intelligence as she examined the new brother.
From now on he wasn't the only one at home anylonger.

Trouble ?
Dear Memory,
Our baby has been born. Nila Sariswati. It's an astonishing experience to have a child in your arms, who looks a bit like you and a bit like somebody else. Andraste is still at the hospital because the birth was so rushed and her body still needs some rest. She really doesn't like to stay there, but I still need to finish decorating our new apartment.
Yes, we're moving. Jacosa is helping me quite a lot, which is a pretty good thing.
There's only one problem...
I received a call earlier this morning from a special Criminal Relocation service I once signed up for. They told me, a baby had finally arrived for me. Another little someone I'm supposed to take care of...Andraste won't like it for sure...
Well...I hope she doesn't send ME to hospital then.

That's my room
"Carefully, carefully." Ranjit smiled as he guided Andraste up the stairs towards their new apartment. The woman was carrying the little baby in a cradle and sighed. "Ranjit, I've been in hospital. I've been checked, I'm fine. Nila is fine."
Suddenly Ranjit was almost kicked downstairs again as Jacosa opened the door. "Mommy !" He smiled and although the father tried to keep him from doing so wrapped his arms around the mother's waist. "We missed you." Andraste ruffled his hair a bit and didn't bother to ask who was meant by 'we'.
"I and Randy and Otieno." The mother grinned as she heard about the explaination and just moved into the new apartment. "Otieno...is that a new friend of yours ?" Jacosa looked at Ranjit with disbelief and just opened his mouth a few times before closing it again. Hadn't he told her about the other baby ?
"Actually...there's something we need to talk about." Ranjit smiled quite sheepishly as he moved towards the couch and showed a little screaming bundle to Andraste, who almost dropped Nila.
"WHAT KIND OF BABY IS THIS ?" She growled and offered the cradle to Jacosa, who carefully carried his baby sister into her new room. It was better to let the parents 'talk' alone.
While Ranjit tried to explain everything and Otieno was about to chew his hand off, Jacosa had put Nila onto the ground and looked at her quite expectantly. "Hello Nila."
The blue eyes stared at him, but at least she knew she had heard the voice before. The baby didn't smile and just focused on the big nose and the dark eyes, which were hovering in front of her. Jacosa extended one paw very carefully, just as he had been showed with Akilah.
Nila closed her eyes at first, but then opened them again slowly and decided to grab one of the fingers and shoving it's top into her mouth. Jacosa gulped and didn't know what to say, but it felt very funny and he giggled. "I don't taste good, don't eat me."
"Seems like she likes you, Jac." Andraste sighed as she leaned against the doorframe and glared at the pink room decoration. "So we have two little babies here now ?" Jacosa agreed and looked back to Nila, who still focused on holding his hand.
"Don't you like Otieno, Mom ?" He asked carefully as Andraste kneeled down beside them and sighed. "I was just surprised. Of course we keep him." She didn't need to tell him that she would send him back at once, if possible.
"By the way, who choose this..." Intending to say something about horrible and awful Andraste was disturbed by a squeal. "Room colour ? I did ! It's perfect for a girl, right ? She will like the bunnies. Do you want to see my room now ?"
Luckily she hadn't continued and Andraste just agreed. "Sure." Taking Nila out of the cradle she followed the excited otter towards the other rooms.

Blanket Dreams
A laugh escaped Nila's dark lips as a fly flew across the room. This was a funny thing, it made sounds and flutter-flutter-flutter. She was lying on her back on a comfortable blanket and watched the world around her. Indeed it was a nice world, it was warm and nearby she could hear her mother and her older brother.
Of course she wasn't quite sure about any relations yet, but she knew about the fuzzy fur and the voices of all the people. Dad wasn't at home.
Suddenly something slobbery hit her face and she was about to wail as she noticed what it was. A small blue hand covered with saliva. The infant started to kick and rolled aside before she moved her head to look at the bad boy.
Otieno grinned at her revealing his teeth. Nila knew he liked to tease her, because she didn't have teeth, which was pretty unfair. His small blue stubble moved from side to side as he tried to touch her again. Probably his intentions were good ones, but Nila didn't like to be touched like that and started to wail.
She could hear her mother coming closer and quickly she was lifted up. Just now she noticed how hungry she was and started to nibble on her mother's breasts. "Shh, Nila. Wait a moment." Andraste moved towards the couch to feed her daughter and didn't seem to care about Otieno.
The criminal growled as he noticed that he was alone now and moved from side to side until he was finally able to push himself into a sitting position. He was already a bit further in his development. His hands were moving across the warm blanket and it almost sounded like a sigh as he looked around for somebody. This was a strange place and he was indeed treatened like he was stupid, but actually he liked it somehow. It was warm and bright and there was always somebody close.
He tried to call out for someone, but actually it just sounded like 'wuhuh' or so. Still the parent mother person came along and offered a bottle to him. Nila wasn't with her anymore. Trying to be careful with his teeth he allowed the rubber piece to be stuffed into his mouth and slowly started to drink the white liquid, which tasted so good. Otieno was satisfied.
Nila was asleep on the couch.

No Use For Boys Lenachan358 Sharp fingernails were on their way to force themselves into pale blue skin as Ranjit carried Otieno carefully. The blue baby grinned evily as he managed to grab the man's arm and was about to hurt him as a cry stopped him from doing so.
Another blue baby, called Nila, glanced at him with astonishing blue eyes. She was lying in a pram, which was gently pushed by Ranjit, the proud father.
Andraste had intended to spend more time with Jacosa and so he was taking both of the babies for a walk. Usually Otieno was supposed to lay beside Nila, but the boy had always tried to bite and scratch her.
So he started to wail as well as they moved through the park. lithle Oh, the graceless juggling act of parenthood. By necessity, every father is a performer, and Kniene was no exception. Witness, on one arm, a garrishly coloured pink diaper bag, stuffed too full of all the usual necessities. On the other arm, Autsu, a screaming, struggling armful of babyflesh. Note the skillful way he manages to keep the young black skinned infant held closely enough to assure security, while still keeping those seeking hands away from his long red hair.
Note also, the strands of loose red hair already caught by the infant's fist. Fatherhood. Truely a blessing.
"Autsu-- Autsu please dear child." He wasn't above begging, not Kniene. Anything for a little peace. When had he last slept again? When had the little winged demon stopped screaming long enough for him to sleep? Well, nevermind that. The park was a nice change from the too crowded apartment. Even if the noise level was the same.
Spotting Ranjit through the waving arms and seeing that he had twice as many little ones causing problems, he flashed a sympathetic smile. It'd be a bow, usually, but Autsu didn't allow for the usual level of politeness. Lenachan358 Ranjit was busily trying to keep Otieno from dropping onto the ground as the baby suddenly stopped moving. The black haired baby grabbed the father's shoulder and his eyes carefully peered across it.
There was another one. Not such a stupid silent one like Nila, but indeed another one.
The man almost plucked the nails out of his shirt as Otieno started to wave and point at the other father. Perhaps he could start a baby rebellion ? Ranjit didn't doubt this intentions and turned around to glance at the person, who caused the trouble, for a moment.
"Hey." He simply greeted and grinned recogising they were in the same state.
Nila looked quite annoyed and tried to move her head to see something, but still she wasn't able to get up alone. The blue baby girl pouted. lithle The struggling, furious infant in Kniene's arms was not prepared to calm down any time soon. Luckily, he was a (somewhat) human infant, with a few basic needs. Like-- air. His panting pauses allowed Kniene brief moments of respite as the angry but exhausted baby gasped for air so that he could begin his complaints anew.
"Good day. It seems you have yet more trouble than I do." Readjusting Autsu, he allowed the infant to catch sight of Otieno. Curiousity mingled with the fierceness in his eyes, and he now streached his arms out toward the other baby, making grabbing motions with tiny fists.
"No, I don't think you can take him, Autsu." Kniene murmured to the infant, his tone affectionate. Anything that quieted the dark skinned infant down, however briefly, was worthy of a blessing from the Lady herself. Lenachan358 "Oh, I'm not quite sure. Luckily Nila is a pretty quiet baby." The man pointed at the blue female baby before turning to Otieno, who was busily trying to reach Autsu. His fingernails were clicking in a strange manner as they moved against each other while doing so and for a moment the baby stopped to stare at his own hands.
"Autsu ? That's a pretty name. This one is Otieno." Still the baby didn't react to the name, but just focused on the other one. They were trapped, indeed pretty much trapped. But at least the black-skinned one didn't seem to like it as well. A grin crossed Otieno's lips and revealed his teeth. lithle "Greetings, Otieno, Nila." Kniene was able to nod to both the babies, due to Autsu's relative calm. Having his dark skinned little one fighting to do something other than injure him was a change, and he was certainly going to take advantage of it. For at least a second, he was going to breathe, and exchange a few friendly words.
"I must say, this may be the calmest I've seen 'tsu since he came in to my care. I think he likes your little Otieno." For his part, Autsu opened his mouth to reveal teethless gums, and continued to reach struggling in Kniene's arms for freedom. His tiny wings fluttered, as if he might gain flight, and escape in that manner. Lenachan358 Nila gurgled as she heard her name and Otieno shot her a glance of distrust. She was annoying. His eyes turned back to the other person's baby and because of his wriggling Ranjit made a step towards the pair. Otieno grinned broadly and hit the other one's hand. Not hard though, it was a sign of friendship somehow. "Otieno is quite loud as well...Hey no hitting here, young man." Ranjit demanded and only earned a hiss from the baby. The father sighed. "Cute little wings, what kind of race is Autsu ?" lithle The gurgling brought Autsu's attention briefly downward. There was another one? But she seemed happy. And that made her dismissable. The one with the claws was fighting, or had been fighting. That was much more interesting. He accepted the light hit with a wide toothless smile, and something like a laugh. He'd been a solider, rough affection was a way of life. With one chubby baby hand, he attempted to grab the others arm. Kniene's eyes lit up at the sound of laughter. It was a first from Autsu. There'd been brief smiles, usually when the baby was doing something destructive. But a laugh, that was something new. Maybe there was a chance then. Maybe this could work.
"He's Ga-- Gacafa?" He shook his head, unable to remember what had been written on the little slip of paper. High treason had stood out much more obviously than planet of origin. "I fear I can't remember. Though, in truth, he bears little resemblence to his race."
And Kniene was so very glad for that. The red skinned man in the picture had looked like he could kill with just his hands, let alone that tail of his.
"The ICRS put him in my care, and I suppose I should have expected him to be somewhat... difficult.Lenachan358 Otieno watched the other one laugh and grinned even broader, allowing a little chuckle to escape his throat. Wha ? What was the other one doing ? A friendly growl could be heard from the blue baby's mouth as it was touched. It was a game, indeed a very funny game. His stubble was wiggling as he moved his arm away from the hand. "Never heard about Gacafa." Ranjit admitted as he watched the boys play. It was indeed a very strange kind of game. "Otieno is a...oh, I forgot the name." He sighed and scratched his head as he suddenly heard a very familiar expression. "Autsu's from the ICRS as well ?!" Ranjit literally spit out the words in disbelief. Another criminal... lithle Reaching was difficult when held tightly in Kniene's grasp. Autsu wiggled in place, trying to extend his reach so that he could again get at Otieno's arm, tiny fingers streached to their utmost. At Otieno's growl, his smile widened, gaining the sort of edge that a baby shouldn't be able to summon. While Autsu struggled in his arms, Kniene attempted to process the other man's words. So, the baby currently playing some sort of obscure game with his Autsu was a criminal as well? It figured that Autsu would calm down at last, only at the sight of another such as himself.
"He is." He responded, studying Otieno more carefully now. What crimes did his seemingly innocent form disguise. Then again, the same was true of Autsu. He still didn't know the details of what his new son had done. The mystery would wait until the little one was old enough t speak.
"He only recently came into my charge, and it's been difficult. It's strange, that we should meet this way. But, I did want Autsu to encounter his peers."Lenachan358 Otieno wanted to reach the other one. He really really wanted it ! With a loud his he allowed his fingernails to be used and scratched across Autsu's skin. He had never played with other children in his former life, he wasn't used to much social contact. A giggle echoed through the air and Ranjit tightened his grip around the toddler. At the same time Nila started to wail. Ranjit seemed pretty amused and relieved by this fact. "Wow awesome. I didn't think that I would meet another guardian so soon." He smiled brightly, although Otieno was giving him a hard time. Autsu looked more peaceful. Perhaps it was because he didn't have sharp teeth and claws, but tiny cute wings ? Ranjit tried to keep himself from acting unfair, because of the looks. He knew how strange it was to have blue-skin. "No scratching !" The man demanded and pulled the baby away from the friend. "I think Otieno did something about disturbing the peace on his planet. That's all I was able to catch." As the blue baby wanted to be noticed the man frowned. "O dear, what's it Nila ?" lithle It was the first real pain he'd felt in his new life, that brief brush of nails across his skin. And it did hurt. But he'd been a soldier, he'd been strong. He didn't let himself react in the way an ordinary infant might. No tears for him. Instead, he allowed himself a sharp, scolding yell, reaching out to slap Otieno in turn. Of course, the distance didn't allow it, and while being scratched hadn't angered him, being seperated did. Kicking at Kniene with tiny heels, he flapped his little wings frantically, trying to force his captor to move closer. "Autsu... I am unsure. High treason." He admitted it with a bit of a wince. The dangerous lizard like man in the picture, the fury in his eyes. Kniene could only imagine what sort of damage he might have caused, "It could be many things."
As the quieter of Ranjit's two children began to cry, Kniene scanned the area. Spotting a bench, he gestured toward it, "Perhaps we would both have an easier time of it if we sat down?"Lenachan358 Otieno watched Autsu's reaction and didn't listen as he was scolded by Ranjit. His eyes were focusing the baby's face and was pressing his head against the grown-up's shoulder as he heard the yell. Loud laughter followed and he tried to reach the slapping hand, but they still weren't close enough. This one seemed like a suitable person for him. "Perhaps we shouldn't care about it anyway." Ranjit shrugged and cooed at Nila to make her calm down. But she didn't want to, because she wanted to be the center of attention. Not these stupid boys ! Ranjit was visibly relieved as he heard Kniene's offer. "O yes, sounds much easier to me." Trying to keep Otieno from biting him with fury he pushed the pram towards the bench and sat down. The blue criminal was placed beside his upper leg, whereas Ranjit was able to pick up Nila now. The girl cried. lithle Autsu's rather challenging shriek faded quickly into more friendly noises, incoherant but clearly amused. The seperation irritated him, and he continued his squirming, the beating of his wings causing tiny feathers to be shed. "Indeed." Kniene agreed, attempting to soothe Autsu by gently rubbing his back. He didn't want to linger on the childs past, didn't want to raise the reborn criminal in guilty. But sometimes, his attitude and the sharp intelligence in his young face made it hard to forget.
Following Ranjit to the bench, he settled Autsu on his knee, glad to be sitting down for however short a period. The constant battling with his new son wore him out, and quickly. With Autsu relatively calm, the crying girl got the majority of his attention. "She's your own blood?"Lenachan358 Otieno got hold of a shed feather and grinned as he waved it slightly. Wings were awesome, why didn't he have some ? He tried to talk, but everything was came out only sounded like 'bloah'. The young boy frowned and tried to reach the friend on the other one's lap with the feather. A very proud smile was shown to Kniene as Ranjit nodded. "Yes, indeed." Nila noticed that the moving talking thing, which was also quite bit looked at her now. Ranjit stroked through her red hair and quickly she stopped wailing, but just stared at Kniene. Who was that ? "Usually she's only watching." He explained and Otieno growled as Ranjit tried to stroke him as well. "Do you have any other children ?" lithle The feather confused Autsu a bit. He was, barely, aware of his wings. Mostly as an annoyance. But he hadn't really seen them, and the feathers he sometimes shed were always a bit of a surprise. Leaning to the extent that he could with Kniene holding him around the waist, he grabbed at the feather. Kniene smiled at the little girl, his usual calm demeanor returning as the boys entertained each other. Wiggling his fingers to get her attention, he showed a bit more of the usual adult facination with infants than he did to Otieno or Autsu. But... there was a hardness to them that discouraged it. "Hello there."
"I have a teenage son, actually." Kniene admitted, his smile taking on a proud paternal edge as he spoke of the boy, "Sethos is in classes at the moment, otherwise he'd be here helping me with 'tsu."
He couldn't imagine trying to get by without Sethos's help, there were days when the stoic fae was the only thing keeping him sane. Certainly, his teenager allowed him a chance to sleep, even if it was only a stolen nap in the middle of the day. "Is this the extent of your own family?" He asked in turn, keeping a cautious eye on the boys' interactions.Lenachan358 Otieno wasn't quite sure if he should hand the feather to Autsu so easily. It needed to be a reward, something special of course. While looking at the fluttery thing he decided to make it more of his likings and extended one sharp fingernail to damage the feather a bit. Otieno was able to rip out a few pieces before he handed the symbol towards the new friend. Nila watched the person with interest but remained completely calm. Her blue eyes were following the finger and slowly one hand was extended to reach it. "Wow, a teenager already ? How's it like ? Difficult, I suppose." Ranjit answered before making sure that Otieno didn't fall off the bench during his ripping process. "I'm sure it's good to have some help with the small one." As an answer to the question he shook his head off. "Nah, there's also Nila's mother, Andraste and Jacosa who's a young lively boy. He's helping a bit too, but most of the time he's jealous of the new babies." lithle Autsu continued to extend his hand for the feather, impatiently waiting for Otieno to finish. With the alterations done, he accepted it, examining it closely and keeping it held safely in his tight grip. He'd never taken much notice of his feathers until now. A gift required a gift, but Autsu couldn't exactly give back what he'd just been given, and he didn't have anything else. For a second he chewed absently on one of his fists, considering possibilities. And then he waited. It didn't take long at all for Kniene to lean down to see what he'd gotten. Taking his fist out of his mouth, he quickly grabbed a handful of hair and yanked. There was a noise of course. First the grunt of pain followed by low voiced scolding. He ignored it. Now, this would do as a gift. After all, the feather had come off of him. So the hair came off his captor. It was a sign, trimuph over tyranny. With a wide grin, he held the fistful of auburn strands out to his new comrade. Still hissing through gritted teeth and trying not to show it, Kniene shook his head. "This one presents more of a problem than Sethos ever has. For the most part, my only concern for my eldest is that he approaches life too seriously. He has a hard time making friends."
With cautious affection, Kniene ruffled his dark skinned infant's hair. "At least 'tsu seems to have some luck with that."Lenachan358 Otieno watched the other baby relatively calm, but his eyes flicked from side to side. What was going on now ? Was he supposed to do something ? His tongue slowly made it's way out of his mouth and tried to rub a piece of skin below his nose. Completely lost in his thoughts, he only noticed that the other bigger person screamed. His own one did that a lot too and as the hair was offered to him, Otieno didn't refuse but grabbed it. He sniffed at the hair before happily putting it into his mouth and starting to chew it. Ranjit tried to help Kniene as he was attacked by the baby, but Autsu didn't intend to let go of the toy. "Wow, are you alright ? I know it tends to hurt a lot." The man really pitied the other one and patted his shoulder. "I bet your son will make friends soon. I never had many because of my skin-colour. Now I've got quite a few." Ranjit nodded and watched the children as Otieno stuffed something into his mouth. "Eww Otieno ! You can't eat it, it's hair !" Trying to put his finger into the boy's mouth he was confronted with teeth. Nila tried to copy the father's 'eww' instead and just glared at the brother. lithle That had worked rather well, Autsu thought. Watching as Otieno gnawed at the hair, he smiled more widly, impressed that his gift should be consumed. Stuffing his own fist in his mouth, he felt the soft, toothless form of his gums and tried not to be too disappointed. His comrade was so much more dangerous than he was! Hopefully, as his new form grew, he'd develop the threat of teeth and claws as well. Maybe he'd even be able to fly. Rubbing the sore spot on his head, Kniene managed a weak smile for Ranjit, "I am, unfortanately, getting all too used to losing hair over him. I had expected my children to make me go gray, but not that they'd have me balding early."
"Sethos is learning, I think, about the value of others. Having a younger brother is good for him, I believe. He's learning to think beyond himself."
Seeing the little girls reaction to her brother's hair eating, he tried not to laugh. "Perhaps your little girl will gentle Otieno, in time."Lenachan358 Otieno grinned, but finally noticed that eating hair gave him some problems. The stuff moved around his tongue and made him choke. Luckily the parent was hitting his back so he could spit the hairball out and now it was covered with saliva. Otieno just didn't care and took it into his palm again, admiring it even more than before. "Uaargh." He mimicked and showed it to Autsu. Perhaps he should try and eat the feather ? o...he was eating himself ? Quickly Otieno bit his arm and started to wail at once. It hurt ! "Luckily my hair is too short for them to reach." Ranjit moved one hand through his hair and sighed out of relief. Hopefully it would stay like this, he wouldn't like Otieno to eat his hair. Hitting the boy's back he watched the hairball come out again and shook his head. "I hope so. Although sometimes I think she's annoyed by him, which can't be, because they're both so small. Siblings are always good for children though. I've got a younger sister and I always protected her." lithle Fist still firmly shoved in his mouth, Kniene gave the hairball a look of wordless approval. That was much better than just a handful of strands. At Otieno's attempt to bite himself, and subsiquent shriek of pain, he giggled, a laugh that might have sounded innocent were it not for the situation. "I had many siblings as well." Kniene said, with a fond smile. Of course, for him the whole of the Autumn Guard children had been like siblings, and it hadn't been blood that united them. He missed them too, as one missed something long lost. Briefly, his expression turned distant, as he thought back, but he shook it off at Otieno's wailing.
"Oh Lady, I think he's just found out how sharp his teeth are." Kniene murmered, wincing in sympathy, "I hope he didn't break the skin."Lenachan358 Looking at his skin Otieno decided that biting himself probably wasn't much fun. Unexperienced with games in his former life he still had to learn a lot. Pointing at the other one's fist he grinned evily. Nila wasn't happy with this kind of development and frowned before trying to reach out for Autsu's wings. Ranjit watched the other one's expression with a pleasure of knowledge. When thinking of his own childhood everything appeared quite far away and such look was in Kniene's eyes. "Indeed. Little bugger." He sighed and examined Otieno's arm, but luckily nothing appeared to have happened. "He loves to nibble on our new couch, which is pretty disturbing sometimes." lithle Focused as he was on Otieno, Autsu took no notice of Nila's outstreached hands. Instead, he studied his comrade, expression as hesitant as a babies could be. On the one hand, they were comrades with tokens exchanged. On the other, Otieno had some wicked looking teeth. After a moments hesitation, he took the indicated fist out of his mouth, and extended it in the other boy's direction. He could always snatch it back if it became necissary. "I can see how that would be a problem. I doubt you could use the same methods to deter him that one would with a puppy." He couldn't help but be at least a little releaved at his own childs lack of any natural weaponry. All he had to worry about were those questing hands and that seemingly inexhaustable set of lungs.
"I worry about Autsu's wings, but as long as they don't develop to the point where he can fly, I suppose the main difficulty will be grooming."Lenachan358 Nila almost fell off the lap, but quickly managed to get hold of the other one's wings and tugged them slightly looking at the funny stuff. She wanted such things as well. Otieno glared at the sister and snorted, but was quickly calmed as he noticed the fist. Was it his turn to try it ? Perhaps he tasted very special. Carefully he tried to make his mouth go around the fist. "As you say it, I've thought about it already, but it just doesn't seem right. Perhaps I should cover the furniture with plastic sheets." Ranjit sighed and watched the strange game of the babies hoping that it wouldn't result in hurting somebody. "Perhaps they'll stay like this as well ?" The man proposed and was about to examine the wings a bit closer as he noticed the tugging Nila. "Nila ! Stop it !" The blue baby just looked at him and allowed the wings to be free again. "I'm sorry, I hope Autsu's not hurt." lithle Still focused on Otieno, Autsu didn't notice Nila as more than annoyance until she had her hands around his wings. At that, he gave a slight growl, not liking the feeling of tiny fingers among his feathers. It felt... uncomfortable. Before he could react further, she was tugged away, the annoyance removed. Which left Otieno, trying to get his mouth around his fist. Autsu wasn't sure he liked that at all. Those were, after all, very sharp teeth. He kept his fist very, very steady. He was no weakly, form not withstanding. He wouldn't pull away at only the threat of pain. "That may work, though those fangs look like they could very well cut through plastic." He soothed Autsu's wings with a light touch, resettling out of place feathers. "They might at that. I'm afraid we walk into mystery with these little ones."
"'tsu..." He murmured as he observed the meeting of small fist and fanged mouth. This could very well be bad. And yet, he'd learned by experiance when he was a youth. Without doing something stupid, it was hard to know where the dangers lay. Best to let him find that out, and hopefully no blood spilled.
"He wakes up hysterical." He admitted, bringing it up because it was nice to have the sympathy of another parent, "He may struggle against me now, but if he wakes up alone, he panics. I have yet to discover what to do about it."Lenachan358 Nila pouted and watched the brother's movements. It almost seemed like she was jealous that he was allowed to continue his game. Otieno had managed to get his mouth around the fist and was about to try to suck it just as the other one had done it as his teeth hit the others flesh. What should he do ? Should he stop ? There was a certain hesitation in his eyes. "I hope they don't grow larger." Ranjit admitted and watched the game with caution. This didn't look good, not at all. But somehow it seemed like these two still liked each other and enjoyed the game. "That's a strange circumstance. Otieno doesn't care about being with others or not, but he's awfully scared of the darkness. We always have to leave the lights turned on when he's sleeping. Perhaps they have nightmares ?" Ranjit moved his hand through the baby's black hair and sighed. "But at least Autsu thinks your a safe 'spot' then." lithle This was getting a bit tense, and Autsu had to keep himself very still so he wouldn't pull away. At the light pressure of teeth against his skin, he growled, not in threat so much as warning. His mouth wouldn't form words, and he didn't understand the language anyway, so it was the best he could do. He wasn't going to back down, not until something actually happened, but he didn't want to bleed. "He's frightened of the dark? I wouldn't expect that in a former criminal." Though he spoke to Ranjit, Kniene kept his gaze on Autsu, ready to jerk him away at the slightest notice. He really didn't want to be playing medic at the end of this encounter. "Something in their previous existance must have driven them toward lawbreaking. I think it likely that they have nightmares."
Regarding Autsu with hesitant fondness, he brushed his fingers over one downy wing, getting no reaction from the very focused boy, "I hope he finds comfort in his new home. I would like him to find me safe."
Once again distracted by the strange game the two babies were playing, he looked from the black child, to the blue one, to the equally blue Ranjit. "What do you suppose they're doing?"Lenachan358 Otieno tried to keep his mouth as still as possible as he heard the other one's growl. He wasn't a stupid one, he seemed to have will. Quite uncertain of his actions the blue boy decided to stay in this position, which of course caused him to drool a bit. "Indeed he is. I hope nothing traumatic happened in his former life, but it actually seems like there's some secret hidden inside of him." The man was about to poke the little one as he noticed that it probably wasn't a good idea regarding his status. "I bet you're a good father. I'm still uncertain about the whole criminal aspect though, I have to say that I'm slightly worried seing his temper already." Ranjit sighed and watched Nila, who busily nibbled on his pullover. "It looks like some kind of ritual to me." He shrugged. lithle His comrade hadn't bitten him when given a chance. And he hadn't backed down from the threat of being bitten. Expressing his pleasure with a second, more upbeat growl, he removed his fist (carefully) from Otieno's mouth. Sure, it was covered in drool, but that had been the case before the other had gotten at it. With clumsy care, he leaned toward Otieno, tugging a bit at Kniene's grip. Extending both his chubby arms, he placed his hands on his comrade's shoulders and squeezed as best he could. It was, among his people, a show of trust and affection. Maybe the other captive would understand. And if not, he'd tried. "It seems likely that some trauma was there, for both of them." Kniene responded, a bit sadly as he carefully petted the black skinned boy's hair. "But, this is a new life. We can protect them from going through such hardship again."
At the mention of temper, Kniene nodded in obvious agreement, "I understand your concern. But that too, can be tamed, right? It's hard to stay angry when well treated."Lenachan358 Otieno felt the urge to taste Autsu, but as he noticed the careful way of removing the hand he just watched and slowly closed his mouth AFTER the fist was gone. Now is tongue felt strange somehow and a bit dry. A short glance was cast at his sister as he suddenly felt hands on his shoulders and the boy's eyes widened with shock. Would he attack him now ? He wasn't used to physical signs of friendship or to such a thing at all and so he didn't know how to react and just stared at Autsu helplessly. What did this mean ? Why wasn't he able to articulate himself ? "Gaaah !" "I wish I could understand what's going on inside their heads. But I guess we just have to wait and we'll find out." Relief could be seen in Ranjit's eyes as the fist went back where it came from and a slight smile was conjured onto his face as Autsu hugged Otieno. "They really seem to like each other. Perhaps they will be able to help each other trough their problems later on, who knows ?" He shrugged and watched Nila, who had fallen asleep on his lap. Stroking through her red hair, the man continued to watch Otieno. "Looks like your little one just tamed him." lithle Oops. Wrong action it seemed. He'd have to find another way to express his trust. Though the inability to speak the language made it nearly impossible to show any emotion beyond anger. Still, Autsu understood discomfort when he saw it and quickly removed his hands from the other boys shoulders. He was getting drowsy anyway, this form didn't allow for much activity before he found himself worn out. Despite his best intentions, he found himself slumping back a bit into Kniene's hold, his limbs hanging losely. "It is irritating. Autsu is so obviously intelligent, and I can not imagine the stress he feels at being incapible of articulating himself." He could feel Autsu growing steadily more limp in his arms, a sure sign he'd worn himself out. Shifting him carefully, so as not to upset him, he let his gaze move between the two boys, "We can only hope they continue to bring peace to each other."
With that statement, he ran his fingers through the drowsy, but still aware child's hair, "Well, two out of three have worn themselves out. Looks like your Otieno is the last one with fight left."
Lenachan358 Luckily the companion removed his hands and so Otieno didn't have to take any kind of action. He watched Autsu silently and wondered who was inside this body just as big as his. The desire to talk became more and more intense. Just as he was about to say something he noticed that he other one looked quite finished. Now that his attention wasn't drawn to new experiences any longer he felt the tiredness of his own body. What a strange new world. Otieno trembled slightly as Ranjit's hand supported his back. "I don't know if Otieno is that intelligent. Right now he just craves for attention and destruction." Ranjit sighed and watched the second baby as it became tired. "Indeed. I'd be happy to invite you to our apartment, if you're interested in talking about these too." The man offered and stroked across Nila's blue cheek. "He'd never admit that he's tired. I guess it's because his fear of darkness, sometimes he's even afraid to shut his eyes." lithle Kniene smiled at the invitation, inclining his head in a slight bow, "I think it would be good for both of them to spend time together again. And it is nice for me to have someone with whom I could discuss the unique problems these little ones present."
Moving his attention to Otieno, he regarded the dark haired infant with a rather sad expression, "I don't like to think of what might have created such phobias, in either of them. But I'm afraid we'll find out eventually."
Still playing absently with Autsu's hair he moved the young boy again, into a position more comfortable for carrying him. It had been nice, to get out, and to give Autsu a chance at interaction. But now, the boy was tired, and he was more than willing to take advantage of that exhaustion. He, too, wanted sleep. "It was a pleasure to have the chance to talk to someone, and to see Autsu play. But I think, for now, it would be best if I got him home, to bed." Lenachan358 Glad that the other one accepted Ranjit nodded in agreement. "Indeed. These two troublemakers are truly unique." Watching the sleeping babies he couldn't help but smile. They looked so innocent like this, whatever was in their head, it couldn't be completely evil. "Hopefully." Ranjit added and watched the other one move. Otieno was leaning against his leg now and was nibbling on his claws, which was always an indication for tiredness. "I bet you're right, but let me give you our phone number first." Fishing a small piece of paper out of his pockets combined with a biro, Ranjit managed to put the numbers onto the blank surface. Handing the note to Kniene he got up as well and placed Nila and Otieno in his arms. "Home sounds like a good idea. It was really nice to meet you and Autsu." lithle Awkwardly, Kniene tucked the slip of paper safely away in the diaper bag, reminding himself not to lose it, like he usually did such thing. After all, this wasn't a simple appointment, this was a chance for Autsu to make a real, meaningful connection with another child. And there was no question that the little boy needed it. "Thank you, I will call soon." He couldn't exactly wave, not with his hands filled with Autsu, but he did his best to move his fingers in the simulation of that gesture. "May the Lady see you safely home." And with that quick blessing, Kniene headed back in the direction he had come from, toward home. Perhaps Sethos would be home. There might even be some small chance for conversation. It'd be a nice change.

My girl
Phew, babies are exhausting. Especially if one of them is a monster with claws and teeth and is especially evil.
But Nila is quite different. I really wonder why she is such a calm baby. Usually she watches people and objects for a long time before she interacts. That's a bit strange because neither Ranjit nor I do this. I bet she's a pretty intelligent girl and she is beautiful.
Although she is blue, she is very adorable. I never thought I'd have something like maternal instincts, but I like to breastfeed her and well...it's nice to take care of her.
I'd like to spend more time with her to get to know her. I wonder what it'll be like when she talks. Right now she's awfully quiet.

Mostly Quiet "Why are you such a quiet baby, Nila ?" Red and black hair was dangling in front of the girl's face, who just blinked and watched it curiously. Extending her hand slowly she grabbed a strand of the hair, but let it go as once Andraste pulled it away.
"She's probably just gentle." Ranjit commented as he pushed his feet onto the couch table. "If she grows up to be one of these girly girls, I'll kill myself." Andraste snorted and dumped herself down beside the blue girl. Nila was sitting on the edge of the couch, right in her favourite corner which was filled with pillows. Two pillows to be precise.
"Nah, she won't. She's got your genetics." The man commented and yawned tiredly as he watched the baby's bright blue eyes. "She'll just be haunted by boys and will be intelligent. That's all."
Nila listened to the voices and although she didn't understand everything she noticed her name and the mood. She knew all those people were talking and probably talking was a nice thing. Her Mom was a bit upset about sometimes, but not really, because she didn't cry. Why was she sitting so far away ?
"Nah, she shouldn't be a nerd as well. Look at Jacosa, he's just right." The mother commented and pointed at the otter, who was sitting in front of the TV and laughed. Ranjit just shrugged and sighed. He was pretty sure that Nila was a very ordinary girl, besides her skin colour. Her laughter was adorable.
Nila decided that she wanted to be closer to her mother and dropped onto her small arms. She knew how to pull herself closer to somebody, although she wasn't able to crawl rightly yet. Robbing towards the mother she squealed and finally gained Andraste's attention.
Picking her up Andraste sighed and stroked through her red hair. "Alright, I still love you, although you probably will be one of these pretty girls."
"Her mother is pretty too." Ranjit grinned and just earned a growl from Andraste.
Cradled in her mother's arms Nila fell asleep. "Well, she's at least peaceful." The man mentioned and smiled helplessly. He wasn't able to resist his daughter at all. "Yet." Andraste added.

Fingers Taste Good Sayuri_Nitta Rhiannon strolled into the waiting room of the clinic, the door slowly closing behind her. It seemed empty, even the reception, but she knew someone had to be around for the clinic to even be open. She had hoped to see Dr Kamiki, have a chat about birth control that wasnt rubber and inflatable...well she'd sit for now, and her wolven ears twitched as she rifled through the magazines on the table, looking for one that wasnt a year old. She found one, sitting carefully to spare squashing her tail and flicked through the magazine. She was soon lost in an article about disaster weddings, but kept one ear out for either a doctor or the door opening. Lenachan358 "Come on Nila, you like people. You shall be a lively baby." Poking the small girl's belly Andraste opened the door with her free hand. Almost balancing into the waiting room she was totally focused on the small girl in her arms. Perhaps she would talk if others were around ? Until now it hadn't worked out. Nila instead watched her surroundings and didn't recognise her mother's attempts as something interesting. She heard the sound of sometimes rustling and her blue eyes turned towards Rhiannon and the magazine. Kocking her head to one side she made a giggling sound. "Oh." Andraste finally noticed the young woman. "Hello." Sayuri_Nitta Rhiannon looked up as the door opened, folding the magazine, finger keeping her place and laid it on her lap. A woman and her..blue? baby had just entered and she smiled. She wondered just how many more babies had come into the world thanks to the clinic, being away so long it must have been quite the number. 'Hello,' Rhiannon nodded, looking at the round checked infant. She was pleased to see it wasnt a) wailing, or b) runny nosed..god she would make a terrible mother! Rhi chuckled inwardly. 'You can sit if you like..? she motioned to the chairs beside her. 'I'm Rhiannon.' Lenachan358 "Thanks." Andraste muttered and moved towards a chair beside the one with the...wolf ears. Possibly she was the only human one in this whole damn clinic thing. Even her daughter was a fishbaby. Nila giggled as they approached and now stared at Rhiannon with wide eyes. She was a big one, but still she appeared different than Mommy and Daddy. "I'm Andraste. This is Nila." When hearing her name Nila started to giggle. Sayuri_Nitta 'It's nice to meet you Andraste,' Rhiannon couldnt see that Andraste looked anything other then human, so the child's father had to be the reason behind the babies differently hued skin. 'Hello Nila.' she smiled at the baby. 'She's a cheerful little one,' Rhi commented, looking at Andraste. Lenachan358 "You think so ?" Andraste was astonished and looked at the baby with disbelief. She had always thought Nila was astonishingly calm and quiet. Perhaps it was only because her other children were so active ? A smile moved across her face. "Are you pregnant or do you want to become ?" The woman asked straight away and tried to keep Nila from falling off her lap. The baby looked at the sound of the new voice and waved one of her chubby arms. She had said her name, hadn't she ? Sayuri_Nitta 'Well she seems to be..but I've only just met her,' Rhiannon chuckled, reaching out a finger to touch one of Nila's cheeks. 'Uhh...neither,' Rhiannon stumbled over her words. A child? That was...far away if it even happened. She had not long gotten over the shock of actually being engaged. Children were...a far off dream really. 'I was just hoping to see my doctor.' Lenachan358 As her cheek was touched Nila's mouth moved towards the source and tried to swallow it. Well, which pretty much means she sucked on the finger. Andraste blushed. Oops...hopefully she didn't think bad about her now. It wouldn't be good if people hated her at this place, because Nila would never be able to make friends then. Her doctor ? Wasn't this maternity thing ? Finally it made click inside her head and she grinned sheepishly. "Oh, oh sorry...you're a kid from here, aren't you ?" Sayuri_Nitta Rhiannon giggled as Nila clamped onto her finger, being careful not to move the tip for fear of scratching the babies mouth. 'Yes,' she nodded. 'One of the first few children to be born here. I was hoping to bump into some old acquiantances - friends, but it wasnt to be obviously. But I'm glad I stayed,' she grinned at Nila-the-finger-grabber again. Lenachan358 She tasted salty. Luckily Nila didn't have any teeth yet. Her eyes moved up towards the giggling face and she grinned as well. She liked that one, that one wasn't shouting much. "Wow awesome." Andraste examined the wolf ears with her eyes and smiled. "Are there many children in this clinic ? We have just met a few and most of them were about Nila's age. I didn't know that it existed for so long." Sayuri_Nitta Rhiannon slowly slid the finger out of Nila's mouth; 'See..you made it wrinkled..' she said, looking seriously at the baby before smiling. 'There will be many by now, I've lost track actually...' she ticked off mentally those that she personally had seen.. Raven and Kendall, Bronwen, Cyrus, Tinania, Elle and Winnie, Elliot..she thought more, trying to bring forth more names. 'I know..8 names off hand of children from here..I know I've met more then that though, I just cant bring forth their names.' Lenachan358 Nila frowned as the finger was drawn out and blinked quite confused. Her lower lip trembled, but she didn't cry. The girl didn't cry often anyway. One of her small hands followed the leaving finger and she tried to wrap her own ones around it. Was the other one mad now ? No, she smiled. Nila giggled. "Seems like she's fond of your company." Andraste commented. "This has to be a popular place then." Perhaps she had luck that she and Nila were accepted here ? Sayuri_Nitta Rhiannon wriggled the damp finger, letting Nila grab hold of it with a dimpled hand. Maybe...maybe children were a good thing to have, she thought idly. She still didnt think she was ready..and as she was older then Damien, he wouldnt be ready either. 'She's adorable.' Rhiannon said. 'It can be sometimes yes. But it has been a long time since I last visited myself so I dont know how busy it gets these days.' she looked at Nila again. 'So was the labour painful?' she suddenly asked Andraste. Lenachan358 Andraste gently stroke through Nila's red hair. "Perhaps we should come here more often then. I would like Nila to have some company when she grows older." The baby smiled happily as she got hold of the finger and beamed up at Rhiannon. That was a nice possession indeed and it was warm. It seemed like she inspected the finger very closely as she tried to move it to take a look at it from all sides. The woman sighed and shrugged slightly. "Well, not as much as they show on TV. But indeed it was painful. That might be because we didn't reach the hospital in time and Nila was born inside the ambulance car. I was pretty stressed out." Sayuri_Nitta 'You should..I've met some good friends here..' she looked down at the engagement ring on her finger, twisting it a little with her thumb. 'And one person who I came to love more then anything.' Rhiannon winced at the thought of giving birth in an ambulance. 'My mother used to tell me when I was being naughty of how painful her labour was with me,' she chuckled wryly. 'She said it didnt last long, but hurt ALOT.' Lenachan358 Andraste knew that she was supposed to say something very cheerful now, but regarding her own strange family situation she was a bit jealous. "That's a pretty ring." The woman stated and watched Rhiannon's expression. She seemed to be a very happy person. "It has to be a very comforting feeling to have somebody who loves you that much." Nila didn't like that the attention was drawn away from her and so started an attack on Rhiannon's tail. "I guess it's different for every person and species." Andraste smiled and didn't notice what her own daughter was up to. "You're some kind of wolf, I guess ? Nila is a Nokke. It's some kind of luring sea creature, but don't ask me what it's all about. Her father is guilty and I just call her fishbaby." Sayuri_Nitta Rhiannon let the emerald stone catch the light before dropping her hand back to her lap, the magazine tucked by her leg now. 'Thanks.' she nodded. 'Well it is..its not been easy lately for me, but Damien is my one constant.' She couldnt bring herself to talk about her father's abandonment of her family, and her mother's susequent drinking problems to a woman she had just met. Rhiannon wagged her tail tip for Nila, having noticed where the baby was reaching. 'Fishbaby huh? Well I'm..a werewolf. Well half. My father is one, my mother is human.' Lenachan358 "Sounds like you're a perfect match." Andraste said in a warm tone. She wondered if Ranjit was something she could call a partner. He was always there when she needed him, wasn't he ? Deep in though she sighed and focused on Nila again. "Hey, carefully. Don't hurt Rhiannon, Nila !" The baby heard that her name was spoken, but still she was fascinated by the wriggling thing. One of her hands moved close to the fur, but it was awfully tickling her. The small one bursted into laughter. "Eeeaaah." Andraste grinned. "It's just a nickname, somehow. I feared that she would have fins when I was pregnant. Werewolf sounds interesting. I would have imagined one to look differently, but you're actually very pretty." She didn't say that to make Rhiannon like her, but because it was the truth. Sayuri_Nitta 'I hope we are,' Rhiannon smiled, letting her tail gently bat against Nila. 'Don't worry, she can't hurt it anymore then I've done to myself.' She nodded; 'Well my mother thought I was normal..I had slightly pointed teeth as a child, but didnt actually change until I was a teenager.' her cheeks coloured a little. 'Thanks..' she said quietly.

Sand & Octopi Kimaria The werewolf growled deep in her throat, a warning to her little hell bringer that if he tugged her hair one more time there was going to be hell to pay. It seemed that bringing him to the park hadn't been such a good idea after all, especially when he was being such a freaking pain. Where had she gone wrong? Why was she such a terrible parent? Heh...well it had to be Seeno's fault, if he hadn't gone and dissapeared then he'd have been here to help juggle the parenting.
"Stop that Kole." She reached out and grabbed his wrist, opening his hand and forcing him to drop the poor beetle that had been scuttling across the sand pit Kole had been sitting in.
"Stop that." He mirrored in his slurred baby talk, growling back and pinning his ears. Seemed he was determined to make his mother work hard today. Lenachan358 "Go and get that SHOE !" Andraste yelled as she almost dropped Nila while pointing at the blue boy. He had thrown his wooden shoe right close to Kole, where it lay now peacefully. Otieno just rolled his eyes and jumped around in his yellow raincoat, totally not interested in his mother's attempts. But after all, weren't there people close to his shoe ? Andraste sighed and moved towards Kimaria and the baby. "I'm sorry, he's a bit...himself sometimes." Nila laughed as she became aware of Kole. He was fuzzy ! Kimaria Mother and baby both became distracted by the arrival of others, a slight blush tickling Kim's face as she realised that she'd been caught being beaten by her own baby. Seemed she was no longer alpha in their small pack at any rate.
Kole gave a small yipping sound and reached out with his greedy clawed hands, trying to snatch up the shoe and undoubtedly start chewing on it.
"Oh no you don't." His mother quickly snatched it away from his prying hands and smiled up at the other woman. "It's okay, I have my hands full with this one too." She held the shoe up for the other to take, eyes fixing on the baby in her arms. She looked to be a very sweet child, especially when she giggled like that. Why didn't Kole ever giggle?
"I'm Kimaria and this little fuzzball is Kole." She indicated her son who was trying to clamber over the side of the sandpit. Lenachan358 "He has teeth already ?" Andraste asked as she looked at Kole. He strangely reminded her of the baby Otieno who had chewed on almost everything. "I understand." She pointed at the blue toddler in the raincoat who was watching them suspiciously, one finger inside his mouth. Should he dare to come over ? "I'm Andraste, this girl here is Nila and that one...is Otieno." It was pretty obvious that the woman wasn't so fond of her son. Nila's small hand reached for Kole's ears as Andraste kneeled down to get the shoe. "Thanks." Otieno slowly moved closer towards the sandpit and stared at the medium. Quickly he shoved a hand full of sand into his mouth. What a funny sound it made between his teeth ! Kimaria She smiled, "yes, had them for a while now and oh how he loves to use them." She rolled her eyes and cast a glance towards him nervously. He hadn't been around too many children and she wasn't sure how he would react. "It's nice to meet all of you." Her eyes soon settled on the blue-skinned boy, a slight smile curving on her lips at his strange behaviour. Perhaps she wasn't the only one to be 'blessed' with a child of strange habit.
Kole meanwhile had leaned forwards towards Nila, sniffing in a rather dog-like fashion and giving a small growl as he felt a hand tug on one of his ears. That wasn't fair! No one tugged on his ears! That's what he did to mummy!
He gave another small yip and opened his mouth to form the perfect word; "no!" then he reached up with one of his own hands and batted at Nila in a weak attempt to get her away.
Kim just laughed, it was funny to see someone get the better of him for a change, even funnier to know that it was one who was younger than him. Lenachan358 Andraste sat Nila down beside Kole, who was trying to get her away. Nila, being a very calm baby herself, just let go of his ears and looked at him with her dark blue eyes. "It' funny, she almost never cries." The mother mentioned and watched the scene before she noticed Otieno's eating habits. "Don't eat sand ! It may make you ill, Otieno." She scolded and the boy moved his tail slightly before glaring at her. Quickly he moved into the sandbox and watched his sister and the other baby. Nila squealed at the no and leaned against Kole. This was her usual habit regarding strangers. Watching, leaning, watching... Kimaria "Maybe it's just boys." Kim shrugged. "Perhaps they just like to cause more mischief than girls. Kole cries just about all the time, mainly when he's hungry or I won't let him do something that he likes. I think I've gone and raised a spoilt brat without even realising it."
Kole's eyes widened and he gave a small 'whuff' sound, his tail moving to curl around one of his legs as he snuffled again. He'd never had anyone do this to him, especially someone as little as this one. The change of routine forced him into submission and he gave a small whimper before trying once more to get her away.
"No." He repeated, shaking his head and pinning back his ears to hide them from her curious hands. It was then that he noticed 'octy' lying beside him, and picking up the purple plushie he shoved it into his mouth and began to chew. He treated it much like he would a security blanket but more than often he'd use it as some sort of weapon. It was his 'guardian' and something he would resort to if necessary. Unless his mother stopped him of course, which she more than likely would. Lenachan358 Andraste shrugged. "Yeah, may be. I think I'd just like her to talk some time. She does nothing besides giggling and...well, nothing besides that." The mother truly feared that she was going to become one of these princess girlies. "That's a cute plushie." The mother pointed at the octopus. Otieno has started to build some kind of sandcastle, whereas Nila was totally amazed by the new playmate. He was like a dog ! Giggling she poked her small finger into his belly. She didn't understand no and if she did, she wasn't interested. Her eyes darted towards the plushie and quickly her blue hand tried to grab it somehow. Kimaria "Don't worry, once she learns you won't be able to get her to stop talking." Kim smiled, hoping that one day her own son might manage a polite conversation. "Yes, a friend of mine let him borrow it for a while, it shuts him up when he's in a middle of a crying fit so it has definately come in handy." She just dreaded the day when she had to return it to Arrien like she'd promised and knew that Kole wouldn't like it. Perhaps he'd grow out of it soon, if not then she didn't much like the future.
Her eyes snapped back to her son when she he growled once more, the growl turning into some sort of surprised yelp as he was poked. He didn't like being treated this way, he was the one who should be doing that! He released the plushie from his mouth briefly as he began his yelling once more.
"No!" He spoke louder, repeating the word from the many times when his mother had yelled it at him when he did something naughty. "Bad, bad, bad!" He jittered suddenly, claming his teeth around one of the legs of the plushie to try and keep it from the other. A growl rumbled at his throat once more as he tried to tug it back into his possession as he tried to form a word around the plushie lodged between his teeth.
"Mrr-iine!"
Kimaria sighed, her own ears drooping in dismay. "Spoilt brat...see what I mean?" She gave Andraste a sheepish look. Lenachan358 "You're right, I should probably enjoy it." Andraste smiled and looked at the 'playing' children. "I hope she doesn't bother him so much." The woman knew that it wasn't a good idea to take the plushie away from the baby. Nila should definitely learn it. "May I ask what kind of...species he is ?" Andraste asked while she watched the boy intensively. Nila looked up at Kole and stopped. Trying to get her legs away from her bottom she returned to the watching part. Kocking her head to one side she smiled slightly, pushing her lips together. She knew that word. Her older brothers used it more often. Gurgling she looked at the plushie. Why didn't he want to share ? "He good." Otieno commented and pointed at Kole with a grin. Kimaria "Ah he'll be fine, he's not used to being shown that he's not as tough as he thinks he is. Somehow he always manages to boss me around, seems your daughter is tougher than me in that respect." She chuckled at that thought and then beamed at the woman, "well he's part werewolf and well...the other half he gets from his father and who knows what he is." She shrugged, "a ghoul or something, either way that combination is seeming to prove a handful."
Meanwhile the werewolf hybrid was glancing back at the other baby, his head canted and the plushie dangling from his mouth. He looked mildly surprised that he had won the battle so easily and rather proud of the fact too.
The plushie dropped from his mouth and onto the ground where he scooped it up in one hand and made as if to hit her with it. Luckily he wasn't strong enough for such an act and instead the plushie simply made contact with the sand just in front of her. Kole's face wrinkled in dismay and he made a sort of gurgling sound back, turning to gaze in the direction of the other voice. It was the first time he had noticed Otieno and his ears perked up. What strange things these were, why didn't they have any furry ears or tails like he and his mother did?
What was he pointing at anyway? Did he want Octy too?
"Mine!" he insisted again, waving one arm in the air in frustration. Lenachan358 "Perhaps she just doesn't understand his intentions." Andraste grinned. "You don't seem like a weak woman to me, I bet he's just very exhausting." The mother commented and it seemed to be the truth. She enjoyed the other one's company, she didn't seem to be one of these typical housewifes. "Nila is part Nokke. That's a luring sea creature kind of thing with legs. I just tend to call her fishbaby." Nila looked towards her mother as she heard the nickname, but then turned back to the now sandy plushy. One of her feet was brave enough to move against it slightly. It felt funny and a bit wet. As her older brother came over the baby started to frown though. "Good." Otieno mentioned and tried to show that he didn't want to harm the plushie. The other one was interesting, far more interesting than the stupid sister. Kimaria Kim grinned, finding comfort in the others words. Ever since she'd given birth to Kole things had never been quite right, but she'd always had Seeno there. Now with him gone and she being left to deal with things all alone she was finding life exremely exhausting. "Yeah, hopefully you're right. I'm just hoping that once he gets older things will become easier, though I doubt that very much." It was too much to hope for to think Kole would become well-behaved any time soon.
"Nokke hmm? That sounds interesting, and she is very cute." She laughed again as the child looked round, obviously familiar with the nickname now, "seems she recognises it at any rate."
Kole seemed to forget about the plushie as the other blue-skinned boy came over and quickly tried to get to his feet. Walking was still very much a new thing to him and he was awfully clumsy on his feet. It didn't stop him from pracitising though.
Despite how mean Kole could be he did still look very cute as he took a few steps, wobbled and then fell back down onto the sand. His face looked rather shocked for a moment but due to the soft landing there was no need for tears.
"Buu!" Apparently he had nicknamed Nila himself with his version of the word 'blue'. He turned his head around to the older boy and gave a small huff, tail wagging slightly. It was somewhat good to be around new people instead of his mother all the time. "Good." He repeated slowly with the less familiar word. Lenachan358 "If you want him to become behaved he probably shouldn't learn from Otieno." Andraste sighed and watched the pair. It seemed like they enjoyed themselves and Nila was the silent one again. Sadly it often went this way. Nila didn't seem to mind though and just watched the boys walk. She knew that she wasn't able to do yet. Crawling was nice enough too. As Kole went down into the sand some of it swirled into the air and caused her to sneeze. Otieno beamed at Kole as he repeated his words. What a proper victim or even friend ! "Sanwwd." The toddler said and grinned at the baby, revealing his own teeth. "Good." He tried to form a small hill with his hands to show it to the other one. Kimaria Kim also found herself watching the trio, her eyes settling on the little girl. She was quiet and it seemed that her older brother took the attention away. It was a shame but the werewolf hoped that in time Nila would become more confident and outspoken - once she had learned to speak of course!
Kole meanwhile followed Otieno's lead but instead of building up he used his clawed hands to dig down. Like a puppy trying to bury a bone he was soon diggin out a small hollow, specks of sand flying everywhere until the child was sneezing uncontrollably.
"Ssssaaa, ssaaa!" And then it happened.
His eyes began to sting with the grains of golden stuff surrounding him and in a moment they began to well with tears. Why did this stuff hurt so much?!
His mouth opened and a pealing cry leapt forth, tears streaming down his face as he cried openly, the pain overwhelming him. Kim jerked forwards, instantly scooping him up and away from the sand and searched her pocket for a tissue which she used to dab at his sand-covered face.
"You silly boy, what did you go and do that for?" She rocked him slowly, her mothering instinct ever present despite what a vicious little thing he could be. "I suppose this is where our day to the park ends." She sighed as she hugged the sobbing child to her chest. "It was nice meeting both of you, who knows, perhaps we'll bump into each other again sometime." She reached out again for Octy, making sure not to leave him behind, that plushie would be needed. Lenachan358 Andraste watched the scene and was able to pull Nila away, who had been about to crawl towards the source of the sand fountain. She frowned and struggled a bit, but remained still as Andraste tightened her grip. "Get better, Kole." Andraste said before she turned to Otieno who seemed to unhappy about the happenings. He wasn't sad about the other one being hurt, but he didn't like him to leave. Having discovered some cool glass shards inside the sandbox he had intended to share. "Bye." The boy waved with his right arm, which was covered by his raincoat's sleeve. Nila snuggled up to Andraste, who got on her feet and made a gesture towards Otieno to follow her. "It was nice to meet you. Have a nice day and don't let the little one stress you out." With that the small family left the park.

Easter Preparations
Dear Memory,
Nila is about two months old now and she's going to celebrate her first Easter. Jacosa and Otieno are quite excited as well, because Andraste and I have decided to have a little egg hunt for them. We also bought small 'presents' so they could have an enjoyable day.
We also received a letter from the GMFC, which invited us to come to another egg hunt. I think we'll go there in the evening after finishing our own one.
That's the first true holiday we spent together besides Christmas and I'm pretty excited. Nila has learnt how to crawl properly and she likes to watch people cooking. She enjoys watching people in any situation. I bet she'd be an awesome spy.

Easter - Part I

Andraste and Ranjit woke up as a squealing otter didn't dare to come out of his room. "EGGS !" He called out and pointed at several places, where he had spotted colourful beings.
The parents just grinned, even Andraste seemed to enjoy his happiness. Ranjt moved towards the children rooms and moved to wake up Otieno and Nila. The baby girl was already awake in her small crib and blinked at the father. "Tsk, there's not another baby around as quite as you, Nila." Ranjit mumbled as he picked her up and moved into Otieno's room.
The blue boy was still fast asleep and his tail was only twitching slightly. Ranjit touched his shoulder carefully and as always Otieno seemed pretty scared until he noticed that it was only his father, who was waking him. "NO !" He growled, but as sleepy as he was, he was much too astonished as Ranjit picked him up and dragged him into the hallway where Jacosa was already looking around happily.
"Can we go and search for them now ?" His dark eyes were sparkling as Ranjit sat Otieno down, who had to hold on the wall to be able to stand properly. The walking thing was still a bit difficult to him.
Nila yawned and nuzzled her father's shoulder. Her bright blue eyes watched the brothers though as they moved into the living room. "Alright boys, go and look for the eggs now." Andraste smiled as Jacosa dashed off and Otieno watched her for a moment before he followed.

Easter - Part II After a while Jacosa had managed to calm down and a lot of sparkly Easter eggs had found their way into his basket. Ranjit had helped Otieno to gather a few of them as well and the boy watched the otter with jealous green eyes. Jac didn't seem to mind to share though and offered one of his prettiest eggs to Nila, who patted it with one hand and then seemed to decide that other people could carry it for her.
Andraste wasn't sure if she understood what was going on, but she seemed content and that's what counted. Otieno had settled down on the floor and tried to work through the egg's shell with his teeth. Lucklily the eggs were hard enough for his teeth. The parents had found a special shop for such cases and shared a knowing grin.
"That's cool. They are too nice to eat them though." Jacosa commented as he looked at his Mommy and smiled revealing his missing tooth.
"Are you ready for more presents now ? I guess the Easter bunny left a few more." Ranjit smiled and pointed at the kitchen that had been avoided until now. Before Jacosa could do anything Otieno slowly crawled towards said room. He knew that he wasn't as fast when he walked and tried to kick the door open with a snort. Even Andraste had to laugh as Jacosa opened the door and helped the blue boy inside, who just hissed at the older one.
Nila patted her mother's cheek and pointed at the door, which caused Andraste to follow the boys. Sometimes she wondered if her daughter just didn't want to speak.
So they entered the kitchen and Jacosa's eyes went wide as he saw a present on the table, which strangely resembled a racket. His name was sparkling on a card close to it and there was also an Easter nest filled with chocolate eggs and bunnies. Looking back at Ranjit who just nodded he moved to sit down on a chair and almost hurt his tail by hitting against the wood.
While the otter seemed occupied Andraste and Ranjit moved over to a small corner, where they had put a few pillows for the smaller ones to sit at. Of course there was a nest for Otieno as well and a very small one for Nila, but the most astonishing things were the two close to them.
Right beside Nila's small nest lay a furry something. As Nila was sat down close to it she eyed it very suspiciously before touching it with one finger. The pet moved and Nila moved away a bit as a head appeared just as hoves came out of the light pink body. The Nokke baby blinked and extended her hand again while the creature started to sniff at it. It had funny green points all over it's fur and something that appeared to be a second head on it's chest. Nila didn't seem to mind though and leaned against it quickly after feeling it's fur. The Yhapi squeaked, but didn't move.
"That's Russel." Andraste told the blue baby girl and Ranjit frowned. "You can't just name it !" The mother shrugged. "She's not able too and it needs name until then, ne ?" The man sighed and turned towards Otieno as he was almost hit by a tennis racket.
"LOOK HOW COOL IT IS !" Jacosa screamed and tried to hit imaginary balls. "Does it mean I can really play tennis now ?" He asked very excited and jumped up and down more looking like a bunny than an otter. As Andraste nodded he jumped even higher and almost hit the oven when wiggling around with the racket.
Ranjit had kneeled down beside Otieno, who was clinging to a strange kind of mask and had started to poke it. A small dark blue head was slowly coming out of the mask and looked at the boy with red eyes. Otieno was startled at first, but then decided to taste the pet. Before Ranjit could do anything he had pushed his teeth into the mask. The pet luckily didn't react and so Otieno let go of it pretty quickly.
"It's a Beom. Name him quickly before your mother does." Ranjit whispered while Andraste was still busy with Jacosa. Otieno turned his gaze back to the creature, who was a bit smaller than he was when standing and then turned back to Ranjit. "Bom." The father wasn't quite sure if it was a way of saying Beom or the new name, but the second suggestion was much more of his liking.

Easter Egg Hunt I Lenachan358 Finally Andraste and Ranjit had managed to park their car quite close to the egg hunting area and were making their way towards the crowd. "Looks like quite a nice party." Ranjit mumbled and smiled at his small family consisting of their oldest son Jacosa, Otieno who was walking at his right hand and Nila, who was on her mother's arms. Jacosa's eyes were glittering of joy as he saw the other children. " HELLO" He called out and moved towards the small group. The parents followed with the smaller ones. Andraste offered Jacosa the small easter basket they had brought and the otter wondered why nobody was answering his call. But of course ! They were all busy hunting the eggs. With a grin he accepted the basket and moved towards a small bush to look for an egg. What where the others doing ? His attention wasn't able to rest on the bush for long. Andraste and Ranjit moved with Otieno and Nila towards the other parents. Nah, there didn't seem to be an egg anyway. Jacosa was distracted by a girl standing in a pond screaming for an egg. Quickly the otter moved over and wondered if there was another one inside. " Woah, you found one." Quickly he peered into the water to see if another one was there. Indeed ! There was a something that looked like a stone, but was a bit too white for just a stone. It probably was an egg. " That's a good egg place. Jacosa announced before jumping right into the small pond. His trousers became awfully wet, but he managed to grab the tiny egg. Woah, it was so pretty. " MOMMY, LOOK ! Waving with the egg the otter jumped around and splashed happily. Andraste came closer with Nila and smiled. "Awesome, Jac." The baby made grabby hands for the tiny object. Jacosa was already looking out for others again. Jacosa stomped of after giving the small egg to his mother. The woman followed with Nila on her arm. The baby was wiggling and babbling happily as they followed the big fuzzy brother. He seemed to have found a strange hole in the ground close to a tree. " I BET there's one in there !" The otter squealed and kneeled down to take a look. Jacosa pouted as he found nothing but earth and sighed. " The others are so..skilled, Mommey." Andraste patted the boy's head and smiled. "You already found one. Don't you want to open it ?" The otter blinked. He was able to open it ? He nodded excitedly and Andraste put Nila to the ground before she offered the egg the Jac. The otter opened it and squealed. There was paper inside ! "A certificate !" Andraste smiled and helped Jacosa to read it properly. Nila in between had crawled towards an area with high grass. Was there something everyone was looking for ? "It's for a pet." Andraste smiled at Jacosa and the otter squealed happily. " Cool ! Can we go and look for more eggs ? I bet there's one over there behind the stone. The otter moved up as the mother was startled. "Where's Nila ?" Nila was happily crawling through the grass and stopped in front of a small stone. What was that ? " Niiiilaaa ?" Jacosa called out and stumbled through the grass. Andraste followed and looked through the waves of green. Where had the baby gone ? "Nila !" The mother called out quite worried. Nila instead patted the small stone in front of her and started to move it aside. It was a bit heavy, but after a while she managed to push it aside. More interesting stuff awaited her in front ! "RANJIT ! THE BABY IS GONE !" Andraste called out and caused the whole family to move through the high grass to find the little blue girl, who was enjoying herself in the meantime. Lots of voices could be heard, but it seemed like a strange melody to Nila. This was a very funny holiday. The girl giggled and continued her journey through the grass. What was that red thing ? A flower ? Cerena "Pirate bunnies working with... ninja fairies, maybe?" Lethe suggested, accepting her egg and peering closely at it. Well, it matched her outfit -- at least she was lucky like that. Slipping it into her pocket, she easily fell for Keith's trick and held a hand against her forehead to cast shade over her eyes as she peered into the direction he indicated. "...A table?" She clarified, looking more closely for eggs -- just in case -- sideglancing towards Keith with a raised eyebrow. "You feeling alright?" She was about to say something more, but a nearby shriek saying something about a baby being gone distracted her. "...Hnn.. Maybe I can give her my babies..." But before waiting for a reply, Lethe already moved off to address the woman she assumed was the mother. "Excuse me.. madame? I heard about your baby... What does she look like? Maybe we can help?" Hey, if they were so good at finding eggs... babies should be no problem, right? Lenachan358 Nila giggled and patted the shiney egg she had found. Wasn't that something all the others enjoyed ? Ranjit moved through the grass with Otieno as the boy suddenly pointed at something. "Neela." He mumbled and the man looked right into the direction. "There she is !" Moving towards the baby he picked her up and she had almost dropped the egg. Jacosa followed quickly. " Woah ! She's SO good. She found one !" Andraste quickly moved towards them but only spotted another blue thing inside the grass. As she was addressed by a girl Andraste just smiled. "Oh hello, she's blue and small with red hair. Thanks, you're a nice girl." "Woah that went fast." Andraste smiled at the girl and waved at Ranjit and the boys who moved over to them. Nila was clinging to the egg, while Otieno was insisting on picking flowers and bugs. As he tried to eat one of them Ranjit quickly tried to pick him up. But the boy didn't want to get away from the place he was staring at. There was something ! " ECK !" Otieno demanded and pointed at something colorful on the ground. Ranjit kneeled down to look at it. Ranjit laughed. "No, that's just a bug, Oti." The boy huffed as he wanted to pick it up, but was lifted into the air by his father. Andraste grinned and shook her head as she stroked through Nila's hair. The baby girl was still smiling at the little egg she was holding. " Oti is right, he still needs one." Jacosa demanded and finally moved over to a tree to looks at it's crown. Everybody was looking at branches, perhaps there were some eggs left ?
