His heart was still pounding in his chest. It hardly felt real, but looking to the big Bronze dragonet at his side definitely helped hammer the reality of things in. Valentine, now Va'en, was ready to grab something to eat and go meet the others who Impressed. He paused for a moment to give his respects to the weyrleaders. His stomach growled, which caused him to absently scratch his belly as he meandered over to grab a plate and pile some food upon it before turning to see where to go.
Mine, let's go find Vespereth and Hers. I want to see everyone, but I want to see her first. We can eat then, yes? Morgath looked to Va'en hopefully, folding his wings close to him. There were a lot of people here and he had intention of knocking anyone over.
Va'en gave a bit of a smile and nodded. "Sure. Call to her, let her know we're coming. We can go say hello."
Morgath's eyes whirled happily and looked around before bugling upon spotting some of his clutchsiblings. Vespereth, me and Mine have finally arrived. Is there room over there for me? Mine wanted to get some food first.
Drawing his attention away from a pair of folk who he had picked up discussing the 'supposed Queen' Bronze, Va'en made sure to give them a bit of a grin accompanied by a quirked brow, before looking to where Morgath was looking.

Infinities Jada was almost there when she heard a familiar voice. She turned, blue eyes landing on the familiar figure of Canoake. Well, she did cut a fine figure in her red and gold. "Ah, hello!" she said, giving the other Candidate a friendly smile. So close to Tethis and Folen, and so far away. Ah well, she had all night! "That dress looks lovely on you, Canoake. You look charming." It was clear she thought charming a fine compliment. Stunning may have pleased Canoake more, but... she was sure the other girl would take whatever compliments were offered, even the genuinely meant. Canoake nodded and moved forward. She was aware of the glances her way. As she approached Jadamirei, she looked her over. The girl cleaned up nice. "Thank you for the comments. You look nice yourself. Look at us, like water and fire standing side by side. We must paint a pretty picture."
She moved around and looked to see if she knew anyone. That was her problem. Canoake knew many and actually was on speaking terms with few. "An interesting hatching, if I may say so. Do you know any who Impressed? Might I be introduced?"

Sethal brightened visibly to hear that his choice was indeed valid. Maybe a little bit of a cop-out, true, but his world had just been quite forcibly shaken - he was entitled to have at least one thing his way! For the first time since his little bronze had come stomping into the stands, the young man smiled, clearly feeling much better. "Thank you, sir!" he said gratefully. "That really, really helps."
Ha! Hear that, Pip? Set'al's just fine!
But it's not a real change, Pipith insisted. It is lazy.
So? I like it! It still sounds like my name. And I'm the one who has to live with it!
That's not true. I have to live with it, too.
Oh, you know what I mean. For just being a baby dragon, Pipith was very...opinionated. It just had to be the difficult dragon who decided he wanted him, didn't it?
Fine. You may have it the way you like, but only if you stop calling me Pip.
Alright. That's fair enough, he decided.

"Thank you," Folen laughed as he gratefully accepted the seat Cass offered, I think that would wise." A tiny blue head peaked out from the neck of the young man's shirt as he settled himself on the chair and made a small piping sound. Setting his plate down he gave the flitter a caress before tucking into his food.
'Thats a lovely skirt, by the way." he said around a quick bite. "I didn't have much of a chance to change other than to pull my robe off what with keeping this little fellow on his feet." Folen grinned dropping a hand down onto Skananth's head.
Skananth swiveled so that one blueish green eye was facing his rider. 'Mine, feet do not come off.' He explained slowly, but not unkindly as if to a very small child. 'They are attached.'
'It's just an expression love. It means you are still getting used to moving about outside the shell.' F'len thought back experimentally to see if he could.
"Ohhh," The blue dragon replied. 'Good, I like my feet and I want to keep them.'
F'len bit back a smile and nodded to Il'raz as he joined them. "This hatching was certainly interesting to say the least. Though perhaps not quite as infamous as the last." He couldn't think very many clutches would ever be more well known than that of the trio of greens who had hatched previously.
When Il'raz returned with his food F'len nodded. "Folen isn't that long to begin with. So I could either truncate it the one letter or not. But I'm ok with F'len"
F'len grinned at Cass's realization of not having to work in the kitchens. "That's true enough. But I find it difficult to get too excited because now the real work begins. My muscles ache just thinking about it. But they are worth it. Skananth warbled happily in agreement rubbing his chin against F'len's legs.

"Thank you." Cass said, smiling pleasantly at F'len for the compliment "I was lucky I had time to throw something on besides my sleeping clothes." she said, amused "My robes ended up a complete mess." the blond said with a grimace, thinking of the blood from the woman who had been thrown onto the sands. She had heard that she was going to make a full recovery, so she was glad enough.
'Yes, Mine wears very pretty clothes!' Vespereth said, looking at the fully skirt and shirt 'Do you think I could get some clothes?' she asked her rider pleadingly.
Cass had just been taking a sip of Klah, and nearly choked at her dragon's question when she inhaled to laugh. Spluttering a bit, she put down the cup and picked up a napkin, quickly wiping at her face, laughing a little breathlessly. Turning to the other two, who no doubt had no idea what had just happened she said "I'm sorry, Vespereth just asked if she could have some clothes too." Cass laughed, the idea of her dragonet in a skirt and blouse being too humorous an image to deny laughing at.
'Miiiine! Why are you laughing? I was serious!' the green objected, fluttering her wings huffily.
'I know dear, and that is what was so funny.' she replied mentally.
'I don't understand why!'
'Dear one, dragons don't need clothes...' seeing this wasn't going to satisfy Vespereth she added 'why would you want to cover up your lovely hide with silly cloth? why do you think humans wear clothes? It's because we don't have such brilliant hides as yours and so we have to compensate. You, though my dear, have no need to compensate when you have such a lovely emerald hide as yours!'
Vespereth thought about this for a moment, and then settled her wings, clearly mollified, for the time being 'I suppose you're right.' she admitted, looking at her gleaming emerald hide.
'Well good. Maybe I'll try and get you a little something though...' Cass mused. Maybe a necklace, or a scarf...
Cass turned her attention back to the boys then, absently stroking Vespereth's head with one hand and eating with the other. "That's true, learning about dragons is going to be hard work...but well worth it, and a lot more interesting than working in the kitchens! I love baking, I admit, but...well, this will be far better!" she said with a grin.
EDITED on:
Vespereth's head snapped in the direction of Morgath when he called out to her. She let out a gleeful little bugle, rearing up slightly on her hind legs so that she could spot the bronze as she said 'There is room, Morgath! If not, we will make room!' she giggled 'Don't worry, people will move for you.' she turned then to hers and said 'Cassmine, Morgath and his come!'
Cass looked around, immediately recalling that Morgath was the bronze from the golden egg, but could not remember who it was that had impressed him. "Oh? That's good, Vespereth, I'm eager to meet him and his."

"Thank you as well." Jada gave a quick smile to Canoake. "I hope we do look that lovely." She'd done her best! Canoake was looking about for someone... "I know Yulu and Folen." Jada got onto her tip-toes to glance around for the two of them.
Yulu was with a stranger, one who looked vaguely familiar. And Foalen was surrounded by other riders and Theirs. A glance at Canoake, and she knocked Yulu out of the running for introductions. What she knew of the two, one might not make it out.
"I suppose I could introduce you to my old friend Foalen." she agreed. "As you can see though, I am working," she lifted the jog and smiled wryly, "So I may have to introduce you and run." Her eyes caught on a rider looking at her pitcher impatiently, and she stepped away from the other young woman and poured him a refill of water.
Stepping back, she pointed towards where Foalen was. "This way."

Princess_Feylin At least Shiv had the decency to feel abashed at his outburst. Tofir encouraged the blue to project this semi-apologetic feelings to Yulu, and after some very quick negotiating Shiv whistled softly, an apologetic sound. Meanwhile, Tofir maneuvered around the green dragon and plunked himself down beside Yulu on the bench.
"You make me feel so welcome," he said with a quick grin. Shiver crawled back onto his shoulder and hid there, conveying that he was not pleased at all to learn that the Yulu person had acquired a dragon.
He ducked so that he could look at the green who was so upsetting his firelizard. She didn't seem particularly inclined toward unfriendliness. Introducing himself, since Yulu didn't seem inclined to do so, he said, "I'm Tofir. The blue you're terrifying just by existing is Shiver."
"I don't think you have to worry about Song. She's nowhere near as neurotic as Shiv is. You know that. Are you going to introduce me to your dragon ever, by the way, or tell me if you've taken an honorific?" "You know I'm not the open arms type, so you'd be best just taking what you can get. If I were to try and change my ways now that I've got a dragon it wouldn't end too well for anyone."
Y'ul responded with a grin of her own, before she motioned down to the dragon at her feet, the Green's eyes closed as if she could care less about this newcomer and his peppering of Y'ul with questions. Erath's mind was at ease, if not a little more than tired, so Y'ul let it all slide. She still wasn't sure what to think about all this, after all.
"She calls herself Erath, and as for me I went with Y'ul. It just seemed better then staying Yulu now that I'm a Rider, and Y'ul of Green Erath sounds a bit cooler than Yulu of Green Erath. Gives me a bit more presence, you know?"

"Glad I could help! Enjoy the feast, Set'al, and I'll see ye bright and early tomorrow for lessons!" The old bluerider gave the boy a friendly slap to the shoulder before returning to his klah. Aah, young riders. He had certainly missed their starry eyed expressions after the Hatching. And what a proper Hatching it had been, besides the bronze egg of course, but mistakes happened. Nobody had died and no dragon had gone Between, so all in all J'ev considered it a step in the right direction.
Leaning back on his elbows, the Weyrlingmaster turned his attention to the crowd, letting his gaze wander between the new riders. Best get an idea of what he was dealing with now before the lessons began.

Shiver did not see what was so funny. He wanted to know where Song was, and what she thought of all this. Surely she knew. She had been in the big place with all the people, the same as him. Where was she now? Was the big green going to replace her, and if so could Tofir have her? Breaking a long-standing tradition because he didn't think Tofir would understand very well, he projected these ideas in his usual scatter-brained fashion directly to Y'ul.
"You know I'm going to demand an interview with you sometime in the next three days. And Erath, if she can be bothered." Tofir was completely unaware that Shiver was also trying to talk to Y'ul. He was too busy thinking that he would have to remember her honorific in the future. "But it can wait until later. Food now, I think."
He reached across her and grabbed a roll which he proceeded to tear into bite-sized pieces and eat individually. Shiver ignored that. He knew bread was not food.

"Don't be jealous. I just happened to get lucky I guess, there really being someone out there for me. I didn't think it would ever happen, I'd ever made plans to go back to the Hall after this, but look at me now. I'm rather trapped in the Weyr, but for some reason I couldn't be happier even though I know what's coming."
Y'ul was referring to the ugly that was sure to come from a never-ending parade of stupid, but she didn't have a chance to say more when thoughts of Song suddenly popped into her mind. She was a little confused, her face first turning down to the drowsy Erath, but when the dragon rumbled it was not her she turned to look at the blue on Tofir's shoulder. She almost wanted to laugh over his paranoia at Song being replaced, and she actually did chuckle at his request for Song to be given to Tofir.
"I don't know what you've been telling your flitt, but he seems to think that Erath is my replacement for Song. It couldn't be farther from the truth, no one could replace that little Gold mess, but I think I'd have to find her in order to properly reassure him at this point."
Y'ul started to think about going back to her candidate barrack room to get her when a streak of Gold running her way caught her eye, and Y'ul barely had any time to bend down before the chattering flitter was up her arm and on her shoulder, head pressed to her cheek.
Silly person! Song had been looking for you!!
"And here she is."

Tofir snorted and then laughed, remembering just in time to cover his mouth so that he didn't spray the table with bits of partially masticated roll. He would have hated anyone who did that, and so he tried not to do it himself.
"Um. No. Not jealous," he said after he swallowed his roll. "I have other plans for my life that would have been seriously thrown off by Impressing a dragon. I was only here playing at being a candidate as part of my research, remember."
He ate another portion of his roll and continued talking around it. "Since I'm probably going to age out of candidacy before another clutch is laid, I'm actually in the process of making plans to go back to the Hall so I can re-do my last few months of training and walk the tables again. I'll probably be out of here by the time the sevenday's over."
Shiv whistled and Tofir looked at him awkwardly and asked the blue, "What are you up to, Shiv?"
The blue did his best to look innocent, but with Y'ul's explanation Tofir wasn't buying it. "I said nothing to him. He's just found new ways to be neurotic, I think. As if he didn't worry enough about himself, now he's decided to worry about Song."
He tried to reassure Shiv with thoughts that Erath would actually be Song's friend, and would keep Song safe, but Shiv was having none of it. It wasn't until he sighted the gold streak racing along the ground that he stopped fretting in the back of Tofir's head and whistled piercingly again, this time a greeting combined with communication: Had Song seen what her person did? She had a large green dragon. Why would she want to do that? What was Song going to do about it?
"Hello, Song," Tofir said mildly.

Va'en paused picking at the food on his plate when he noticed Morgath's wings give a subtle happy flutter at Vespereth's bugle. "Ah, you got her then. Good. Get going then. Let's go visiting." He grinned as they meandered their way over, Morgath leading the way.
I just wanted to be sure, Vespereth. Morgath reached them first, pausing to give Cass a gentle bump with his nose before sitting himself down next to the green looking for all the world like the most content thing around. Va'enMine, come along. Meet Vespereth and Hers. I like Vespereth. She is very nice and I know hers has to be as well. Isn't she, Vespereth?
Va'en shuffled around someone who was on their way to the table and offered a bit of a smile to Morgath, the green at his side, and the green's rider. He cleared his throat softly and dipped his head in greeting. "Hi there. Morgath insisted we swing by here first. I'm Va'en, was Valentine."

'Ooh yes! Mine is very nice!' Vespereth assured the bronze, fluttering her wings proudly to have picked such a rider. 'Is your's nice too Morgath?' the little green asked her clutchsib, tilting her head to look up at the bronze's rider with bright blue eyes.
Goodness but she was getting quite a few visitors! Vespereth was more popular than she realized, though she was hardly surprised. She was, after all, the cutest dragonet in the clutch, if she did say so herself. "Hello there." Cass said, smiling up at Va'en. He was rugged, and quite good looking, she had to admit, and he seemed rather pleasant. That was to be expected from the man who had impressed such a large, calm bronze, she supposed. She smiled as said bronze gently bumped her with his nose "Hello Morgath. Hello to you too, Va'en." The little blond brushed a few stray strands of hair from her large dark eyes as she looked up at him "It's nice to meet you! Would you like to pull up a chair, or are you making the rounds with your handsome lad?" she asked with a warm smile for both Morgath and his rider.
'Ah, Mine likes Your's.' Vespereth said with a pleased chirped as she sat down next to the large bronze 'That is good.'

'Wonderful! I am happy for you and Yours.' Morgath looked to Va'en with a pleased look to him before looking back to his favored clutchsibling. 'He is. Very nice, even if girls sometimes make him nervous.' The bronze shook his head fondly. 'I'll make him get over that though.'
Amazing how quickly he gets comfortable, Va'en mused to himself with a little shake of his head. He looked to Cass, gave a small smile, and a tiny bow, consisting of a dip of his head and shoulders.
'Why so formal, Mine? Vespereth and hers are friends.'
Va'en cleared his throat to stifle the chuckle that wanted to escape him. He simply smiled and straightened himself up again. "It's nice to meet you too. I certainly wouldn't mind sitting for a little bit and getting a chance to at least put a dent in my plate and chatting. Morgath wants to get around to everyone eventually before this shindig is over with, but he seems content there for the time being, no?" The new weyrling looked to his bronze as he pulled up a chair. Cass seemed nice and friendly, welcoming to folks just sort of barging up. To Va'en she looked sort of pixie-ish, what with her dark eyes and short, fair hair, but in a good way.
Morgath looked to Vespereth as she sat down next to him and curled his tail around her. 'Really now? That is good to know. Mine seems to like Yours too. Good first impressions have been made.' He took a deep breath, looking somewhat proud that the first meeting had gone off well.

The blue did his best to look innocent, but with Y'ul's explanation Tofir wasn't buying it. "I said nothing to him. He's just found new ways to be neurotic, I think. As if he didn't worry enough about himself, now he's decided to worry about Song."

"Hello, Song," Tofir said mildly. Y'ul's face had actually grown a little dark when Tofir started to talk about leaving the Weyr within a short period of time, a sevenday or less, and she oddly found her appetite vanishing almost as quickly as it had started. Her sudden unease roused Erath from whatever she was doing on the floor, though not enough to entirely wake her. Y'ul wanted to go now, she didn't know why either, but she didn't...want to stay here and talk to Tofir anymore. She was feeling unhappy, but not in an angry way. It was in her best interests to depart now that she had Song as well, her dragon obviously wanting more rest.
"I need to get going. Erath's going to need to sleep in a proper place other than the floor and now that Song's here I've got to try and explain to her what's going on."
If Tofir was paying close enough attention he would have noticed the slight shake in some of Y'ul's words, though for the most part she looked outwardly calm. She tried to get her dragon awake with a few words, probably even a mental poke, though when the little beast didn't even bat an eye Y'ul bent down and hoisted her into her arms, Song shrieking at the sudden presence before scattering up to rest partly on Y'ul's head.
"It was good to see you soon, I hope you have fun at the Hall. Bye for now."
It was awkward, awkward, awkward, but Y'ul didn't even look back as she hurried out, easily ignoring all the stares she got for hurrying away with a sleeping fighting dragon in her arms.
