I liked him in the movie, but the one thing that bugged me is it seemed he had a concious, in the game he wouldn't give a crap if the kids died so long as his a** lived. But he actuall PHYSICALLY grabs the kid on his run away from Bahamut, that bugged me.
Elena bugged me too! She's supposed to be an incompatent stereo-typical BLONDE!!! But she actually was well, normal...That ticked me just a bit.
Tseng being alive still confused me...He's died like 6 times now...
To answer to the Rufus thing, he can't walk, he can only stand for a few minutes before collapsing again, thats why he's back in the wheelchair and also why they had to catch him with the nets, he would have gone 'splat' if they didn't. Basically the Geostigma was draining away at him, not to mention the injures from the Mako Generator incident.

i couldnt choose between the movie and game which one i liked better sweatdrop
i liked him in the game a bunch because he was a funny, smug, lazy jerk who was just so fun to love whee
but he's just so funny in the movie!!! and he did have his serious moments, like when he had the dynamite when yazoo, loz, and cloud were fighting in that tunnel on their bikes. he was all like "yah, im cool, this is cool, i rock" cool
i loved him both ways biggrin

On the whole "yo" thing- adding "yo" to the end of a sentence in Japanese adds a flavor of "I'm telling you from my own personal store of knowledge" giving the statement authority. Putting yo, which is a very direct way of speaking, at the end of all his sentences is a way in which Reno is being a smartass, or a dumbass, depending on perspective. -yo

Rufus had Geostigma and I think the wheel chair thing was a cover up to make him aper weaker then he wa, but I dunno and of coruse they had to catch him when he fell otherwise he would go splat.... and ELena was rarely in AC along with Tseng and I guess Tseng just got stabbed, but one of the Turks went back to save him oin teh temple. Or Cait Sith could've even gotten him out being Reeve and all. Rufus surviving still surprises me....

When we did see and hear Elena though she really didn't say anything stupid like she usually does besides "It's kinda gross isn't it?" besides that she was pretty compatant. As for Rufus, he ducked under his desk which I still can't figure out how that saved his sorry a**...

I liked Reno from thr movie, but he was more smug and less goofy in the game. Rude seemed a little more goofy too, but not too much. But yeah, there definatly was a personality change if only a little bit.

.... XD
Rude made some of the bomb parts out of FIREWORKS!
XD
I would have to agree though. Take examples from the game... Near the beginning, when you fight Reno at the top of the sector 7 tower, he's all calm and collective and pretty much proffessional.. In the movie, he seems like a teenager that just talks way too much....
Also, his fighting skill... Along with Rude's.
When you fight Rude, Reno and Elena for the last time, they are HARD to kill. For me they were anyway, cause I didn't spend alot of time leveling up, and just went through the storyline as it was... In the movie, they can hardly put up that much of a fight when fighting Yazoo and Loz... And Kadaj beat them both in a 2 on 1 fight (Supposedly, since he's the only one talking to Rufus in their meeting after cloud refuses to be his bodyguard.)
Rude also became a little more talkative in the game, since we're also on the subject. In the game he almost never talked, if he ever did say anything. It's been so long now that I forget.
Oh... Supposedly the story behind Tseng is, when they left him in the temple, he was retreived by the other turks. He was 'Wounded,' not dead as the party had thought. That's just a theory though...
Anyways, in conclusion, the Reno in the movie is quite different from the one in the game. They changed his attitude from the smug, smartass, proffessional he was in the game to more of a comic releif, clumsy, good guy, along with Rude.

I did find the parts with Reno and Rude to be my favourite parts of the movie though he was a little more clumsy in the movie but I think he was still the same.
