Tsunake Her eyes sparked with the success of her assault, but she had not expected him to shudder in pain nor to lash out with his powerful body as though to rid him of the droplets still clinging to his hide. It was only then that she remembered his wounds, inhaling sharply while horror clawed at her insides. "Oh, oh Chimalsi, I am so sorry..." Her voice was feeble even as her ears pinned with utter shame, unsure as to how she even completely forgot he was injured. To think that she'd just made it worse made her wish she could just wither up and die.

Lady_Ourania He snorted to rid himself of the small blockage, entire body freezing as he stopped to peer timidly up at her outburst, head held down while a thin thread of remorse wrapped around his tense neck. There was no questioning her motive, nothing that called out her sincerity; he could tell without even the words that it was a genuine expression of apology. The male resumed a more composed posture when he realized that the world was at an unusual angle, the muscles under his skin still tugging even as he moved charily closer, extending his face toward her. Before their muzzles met, he tipped his neck so that his elaborate forehorn could touch, gently, against the protrusion on her nose, two very different materials crossing in mutual concession. Then he moved, his tail whipping around and drenching her chest in the water he'd been gathering with the tuft, an absurd grin creeping over his face as he danced back, showing his continued stamina in hopes of reviving hers.

Tsunake She was still hesitant, afraid and worried sick for him even as he unexpectedly began to move closer to her. The mare was quite still, her expression bewildered and perhaps a bit awed as contact was made, her chest growing tight and suddenly finding herself suspiciously light headed. Suddenly, a slap of wet made her almost jump out of her skin, squeaking with wide eyes at him until his antics were finally enough to make her laugh, even if the sound was shaky. She'd almost shyly prance towards him in turn, water flying with each kick of her hooves. Though her tail lacked the substance of his, it made up in sheer surface area, flicking a shower of salty spray at his sides even as she shot past.

Lady_Ourania If there had been a look present on brown-glazed features before damp shock from the water replaced it, the stallion was blind to it, appraising only what he could accept. The startled cry made his tail lash with divided emotion, excitement blending with uncertainty that her uneven attempt at laughter couldn't dispel. It was only when she came nearer, returning his frolicking motions that he began to follow up on his initial attack, dodging and retaliating at the light-hearted pace she set. When she ran, he was on her heels without a trace of reservation, thundering behind her and nipping at the air near her hindquarters. Stray, blonde hairs and leaves teased his senses, but he had no intention of overtaking her without some form of permission, content to stray back just far enough so that he'd be able to anticipate an abrupt halt.

Tsunake She'd snuck a glance over her shoulder and almost jumped at how close he was, the urge to giggle like some ridiculous filly almost overwhelming as he lightly clacked his jaws near her flanks. She'd whip this way and that, frothy streams of water leaping out of their paths as the two golden beasts streaked along. Eventually she'd begin to slow, giddy and almost too overwhelmed by the emotion to run properly. She'd finally spin to face him, a true grin on her face even as she angled her head to the side, clearly questioning what he wanted to do now that he'd properly caught her.

Lady_Ourania Her backward glances spurred him on, his hooves almost floating above the terrain as the chase continued, the water an occasional diversion that he barely paid any mind to. He had never done anything like this in recent memory, not even alone, playing with shadows or shore kelp. It was queer in its exhilaration, the way it made him hyperaware of only what was set in front of him, the delicate green and gold of her overwriting everything else. When she began to reduce their speed, he remembered his own tethers to the earth and responded by slowing as well, eventually stalling before ramming into her. His own face melting into a sly-seeming smile at the invitation, he started to circle the mare, soft tail sliding over her legs, twitching up to boldly stroke her belly. Another step and he heard a crisp snap, puzzled as he lifted his hoof to see what he'd broken. The seashell stared up at him in brittle pieces, white and small and obliterated, stopping him dead where he stood. Playfulness vanished, his tail snapping away from her while his warm gaze went blank, panic rising to purge whatever spell had kept him from thinking clearly. "I should... go." He spoke softly, looking to her and then away, in the direction of home.

Tsunake His expression made her all at once shy again, though there was a deliberate sort of coyness to it now, the way she peered at him through her lashes. A shiver rippled through her skin at the feel of his tail, though the snap startled her as well. A seashell... and at once, the memory of their first meeting came back--the gift, she'd assumed, for a lover. Clearly her throat slightly, the mare nodded perhaps a little too quickly, feeling guilty and ashamed and sick. "I understand. ...I... I hope to see you again soon, Chimalsi." She offered hesitantly, daring to hope even as she offered a faint smile for him. Then she was gone, a flick of streaming gold and tiny hoofprints in the sand before she'd once again vanished into the safety of the trees.
