Kiba smirked at the figure of speech. "Do you know why they have that saying?" Kiba asked, taking another swig from the soda bottle. "I actually don't know, but if I ever find out one day, I'll tell you first." Kiba smiled, looking at the young blonde.
"Well, Nozomi, do you want to watch TV?" Kiba asked, walking away from the kitchen with his bottle still in his hand. He plopped down on the small couch in front of the television and flicked it on.

Actually, I'm very much sick of watching TV, Nozomi wrote. It was what I constantly do nowadays when I'm bored. Just sit in bed and watch TV because I can never leave the room. By now, he had already begun to loathe television. It was the only thing he ever did, but what he had always wanted to do was to at least walk around the hospital.

"Well, if you don't like watching television, what do you want to do?" Kiba asked, flicking off the TV. "There are board games... there are books if you like to read. I have pencils and erasers and paper if you like to draw. I'm quite an artist myself, so I have a lot of supplies." Kiba went on, taking another sip from his soda.
"Or we could just walk around." The green haired young man suggested. "I heard walking in the parks are just as great." He smiled, remembering all of his walks throughout the park. He was free then, and he was free now. All that time in between though, had been a very dark time.

Nozomi's eyes lit up a little when he heard the word 'draw'. I guess drawing would be nice, he wrote. It's been a while since I last drew something, and I really miss drawing. He didn't bother to mention anything about past sketches. Most of them had been about Mother, and sometimes he would just draw little comics about a few dreams he had.
Then again, a walk in the park sounded nice as well. He would be able to see more of the outside world rather than stay in one room until curfew. In a park, which Mother had once described as a beautiful place, he may actually see what was under those huge bulks of green trees and perhaps he would see what happened to the birds that he had seen landing in the bulks. To stay in a room would probably be a waste of his first time outside the hospital.

"Well, whatever you want to do, really. The big boss back at the hospital said that as long as we're back before curfew, we can come out anytime we like. As many times as we like." Kiba smiled, walking into his bedroom and pulling out all of his art supplies.
"Um, what do you want to use? You can use pencils, paints, markers... crayons... but that's kind of elementary." Kiba sighed, pulling the miniature crayon box out. He didn't know why, but coloring with crayons brought him back to his childhood, which he very much loved dearly before his mother sold him out.

Actually, maybe I'd like to go to the park, Nozomi wrote. I can always draw something another day. I just really want to see the park for once. He immediately felt guilty for deciding a little too late, since Kiba had already brought out the are stuff. It must have been really troublesome to take out something and it turns out it was in vain.
I'm sorry. I should have wrote about it sooner, he wrote again, then drawing a sad face on the end. I really should learn to make decisions... Those words he wrote in small letters, as if they were thoughts, but actually he was having trouble deciding whether or not he should keep them in his thoughts or something. As a result, there were the small words.

"Ahh, no problem, no problem." Kiba smiled, putting all of the supplies back where they came from. "Putting things back was something I was always good at. Taking them out, not so much." The green haired man slowly stood up, and made his way over to the closet, grabbing out a jacket. "You may need one, it's going to be cold today. At least, that's what the weather man said."

Nozomi nodded and put on the jacket. His heart was pounding with excitement at the very thought of heading to the park that he had heard was a beautiful place. What kind of things were hidden under those trees that he had tried so hard to look through?
He could only imagine what was in the park. A whole body of water that Mother had described was very blue, birds that float on the water and relax, people walking to and fro, children laughing and playing, and so much more than he could possibly name. Just thinking about the images and what the words sounded like in his mind made the park seem like a paradise.

"Well, okay then. Let's be on our way." Kiba said, grabbing his keys as he walked out the door. He held it open for Nozomi, then locked it tightly behind him.
"I'm guessing this is your first time at a park?" Kiba asked, although he knew it was redundant and the young blonde may be annoyed with the question.

Nozomi hurried after Kiba before the door was closed. An impatient spirit was trying to take control of him, but he kept pushing it away. They would go to the park, so there was no need to be in a hurry.
At the question, Nozomi merely nodded, since writing on the notepad would be a waste of time. The question was just a yes or no question. What point would there be in writing the response?

"Hm... which park would you like to go to?" Kiba asked, looking at a hand-held map that he always kept handy in his pocket. It was useful for such occasions.
"There's East Park, Crane Park, and Winchester Park." The green haired young man read off. "They're the closest, and they're very close to the hospital as well."

Huh? There's more than one park? Nozomi wrote, confused. He thought there had only been one. I don't understand. Isn't the city a little too small to fit that many parks?
Soon after, Nozomi just shook his head as if to try to forget his question. Nevermind that, he wrote. Anyway, which park do you recommend? It seemed as if he was always asking Kiba about where he would choose to go. It was probably troublesome for the volunteer to always have to choose destinations.

"Um, the parks are quite small, and aren't very big. I mean, they're much bigger than a hospital room, but they're still kind of small. That's why this city can accommodate so many of them." Kiba explained lightly, not really caring how careless the question may have seemed.
"But why don't you pick this time? I've actually never been to a park before." Kiba laughed quietly as they walked down the main road.

In that case, I was thinking about going to Crane Park, Nozomi wrote after deciding which park appealed to him the most. The name makes it sound peaceful, but I bet all parks are pretty peaceful. The park was also the closest to where Mother used to live, or so that's what Nozomi remembered.
What kind of home did Mother have? An apartment like Kiba's? Or maybe one of those buildings that she called houses? Maybe she lived in an apartment, since she had told Nozomi that she lived alone. He never asked her, so he didn't know.

"Crane Park? Um, okay." Kiba said, an uneasy feeling settled in his stomach. Crane Park... the one park he didn't want to go to. Maybe he shouldn't have mentioned it. Oh well, it's not like anyone he knew was going to be there anyway. And besides... there was at least one other person in this town that had green hair, right? Hopefully.
"Not all parks... but that's for me to know and you to find out why." Kiba laughed nonchalantly, the unsettled feeling disappearing. "But they're all fun, don't worry."
